THE WELL-BEING ITALIAN ELIXIR An elixir (a word derived from the Arabic الإكسير or Al-Ikseer) is a preparation containing an active ingredient dissolved in a solution with a certain percentage of alcohol. The most famous elixir in history has been created by Giuseppe Balsamo, known as "Count Alessandro Cagliostro", an 18th-century traveller, occultist, alchemist, healer, hypnotist and freemason. This adventurer, also known as Count Felix, Marquis of Pellegrini and Prince of Trapenzut, was an intelligent and charismatic charlatan. He claimed to be able to cure all kinds of diseases and, like any good alchemist, to turn metals into gold and become invisible. He committed his first crimes in Palermo, his home town, where he turned out to be a skilled forger. When his activities became too notorious, he was forced to emigrate to Egypt. Later, at the age of 25, he married a 15-year-old girl in Italy. She was the daughter of a humble artisan in Rome and had started working as a prostitute. Over the years he made friends with the true king of impostors and charlatans, the Count of Saint-Germain. From him, he inherited the formula of the "elixir of eternal youth", with which one could live up to two thousand years. In one of his pamphlets entitled "Secret of Regeneration or Physical Perfection", he recommended that people retire to the countryside, follow a diet for a month and takes the appropriate doses of his miracle elixir. As soon as the fevers, delirium, hair loss and periodontitis were overcome, one should take a good hot bath. In this way, the patient should be rejuvenated by 50 years. He died in Rome in 1795, at the age of 52. He had to appear before St. Mary's Church in penitential clothing and renounce all his sins and errors. However, he was not forgiven. As a result, he was imprisoned in the fortress of San Leone in Urbino, where he was finally strangled in his cell. Fortunately, people are no longer strangled today for making and selling unusual elixirs. At least I hope they don't! Dolcelisir is a remarkably safe elixir even if you are not going to live longer just by using it. To me, it is a tonka bean elixir lightly infused with rum and flowers. Its amber facet is very pleasant and neither too strong nor overly sweet. The tonka bean originates from the Amazon rainforest and offers a sweet scent with notes of almond, caramel, vanilla, cinnamon and tobacco. Besides the coumarin ingredient (Tonka), the addition of these individual notes to this fragrance only reinforces my opinion of it smelling like a tonka elixir. It starts with a caramel cherry-cola and rum accord that is eerily similar to "Raghba Wood Intense" by Lattafa. Over time it becomes more reminiscent of "Hermessence Ambre Narguilé" by Hermès but probably less ambery and less sweet. It evolves into a narcotic amber blend with cinnamon, vanilla and bitter almond, without losing its alcoholic, caramelised accord. Although not listed, the base recalls a cherry tobacco note. The Hermés-like scent now also reminds me of "A*Men Pure Havane" by Thierry Mugler. It doesn't perform particularly well and you have to re-spray to get a full day's wear out of it. As for the scent, it gives off an above-average quality feeling. It is a natural treat for lovers of not-overly-sweet amber scents. As one should expect from a natural cosmetics brand, the presentation is quite simple. The same look and feel are shared by fragrances from L'Occitane and sometimes The Body Shop. My overall impression of this fragrance: You get a mix of different oriental scents in a single bottle, with the easy recall of "Hermessence Ambre Narguilé" predominating. However, the value for money is remarkable considering I got a 50ml bottle for €15. It is quite safe to recommend it as a blind buy... and that's what I've done! This is Philippe Garrel "Les Amants Régulier" in a scent. I feel like being transported in the failed post 68's to 70's social's rebellions, disillusioned with the state of affairs of the world...smoking opium in my spare time, while dressing à la Bertolucci's "The Dreamers", like Theo to be exact. I just can not dissociate it from that aesthetic. Ok, about the scent itself...forget warm cinnamon and rhum (and caramel), this is a liquor, yes.. but it is an elderflower based one. They make themself known in the opening, supported by bitter cacao powder and something lightly zesty (bitter orange? ginger? candied citrus?), and they never, ever leave the composition, remaining until the dry down, in a true narcotic fashion! The rhum and caramel notes are quite faint and serve more as a support for the elderflowers which are present since the opening with a central role. The boozines dies down a bit in the mid of the scent, where heliotrope and tabacco intertwine to create a powdery smoky/dry effect. But, like all the elements in here, they are toned down and muted, as if a patina, or better yet a sepia filter is applied on them, rendering them dusty, antiqued, but almost royally ancient. This is truly an androgynous perfume, it's almost pure in this characterisation. There is a bit of cinnamon sprinkled in the mix, but it is so cold...again, almost denatured. This stage remainds me so much of a Lush product, a bubble bar called Gingerbread House. Such fond memories evoked in me... There is no palpable fruity note (maybe just the ghosts of dried fruits), nor truly tonka beans, at least in this new edition put on the market in 2023...a light nutty facet is only found in the opening where it is bitter and recalls the boozy notes of Mandorla, by the same L'Erbolario, and in the end of the base notes where results more as an almondy heliotrope then pure tonka. Dry down is evocative of something even more old and aristocratic, a little smoked and powdery; the amber in it has a balsamic touch, it is paired with a smoky dry vanilla (so no sweetness from both of them) and a bit of brown sugar. The cacao powder returns from times to times, but present itself in a new facet...more mellow and lightly colored, not so bitter as in the opening. Lasting power and projection is in line with other L'Erbolario creations, from 4 to 5 hours, depending on weather and skin, quite good but nothing to rave about. Overspraying definitely helps. I find the scent very elegant and sensual, as I like to repeat, an elegance of old times. I picture someone disillusioned by the mundane and detached from reality wearing it...someone that has the means and will to unplug everything and fly away to a safari (or to his uncle's "in the middle of a vineyard" French villa), spending his days in resigned hedonism, smoking narghilè while dressed in fine silk Etro bathrobes, listening to Nico. Not yet abadoned to nichilism but surely damaged, the egemony of the status quo to much to bear for his generous, illuminated soul. The notes declared by the brand are as follow: -Caramel, Rhum Absolute -Elderberry Flowers, Cocoa Powder -Benzoin Siam Absolute, Vanilla Absolute

I never had the pleasant to try hermes ambre narguile but when I was reading it's reviews I discovered dolcelisir and it was on my radar for a while.it has almost all the notes I die for so it could be my best perfume ever so I had to order it from other countries and it costed me almost 80$ but I couldn't let it go First time I tried it I wanted to cry with dissapointment.I expected dolcelisir to be super delicious.but all I could smell was rum,cinnamon,amber and lots of tobacco!it reminded me pure Havana which I like but on a man I decided to give it another chance today and glad I did so.it's still nothing like my imaginations.it's sweet but not as sweet as I wished and unfortunately there's no caramel and sugar to my nose and vanilla,cocoa and benzoin aren't as dominant as I want.I still can smell something like tobacco.it may be the combination of cinnamon and cacao.all in all it's a combination of something like tobacco,cinnamon and rum in a warm,sweet ambery base.it smells niche-like.very balanced,well put together and charming.it's definitely unisex and I believe you don't need to be a gourmand lover to love it.it's a complex fragrance and seems to have lots of layers.I can sometimes pink up small hint of orange,immortelle and other powdery musky florals but they come and go I know that I have to give it time.most sweet,complex scents need time to grow on my skin and usually such fragrances turn to passionate loves for me after passing a small period of dissapointment and a week or month period of giving time If there was more caramel,more balmy sweet notes like vanilla and benzoin and more cacao I'd love this.for now I can say I like it very much and I'm very satisfied with my blindbuy although I find it a little too masculine for my taste.it worthes as a high-quality niche for me.I also love it's simple bottle Longevity is very good,+8 hours and sillage is moderate If you're into spicy boozy balsamic scents give it a try

I've been eyeing Dolcelisir on Fragrantica for a while, because judging from the list of notes and the reviews, it looks like it might just be the ultimate fragrance for fall, and it seems it's cheap as well. It sounds a little too good to be true, but now that I have acquired a small decant, I'm happy to say it's everything I expected! It's such a cosy scent - wonderfully warm and deliciously boozy and spicy, without smelling too edible and therefore too conspicuous to be wearable. In the bottle it does smell exactly like apple pie, or maybe apple juice or cider, so like other reviewers I was surprised to see that apple isn't even listed in the note pyramid. But on my skin it goes into an entirely different direction: there's still a suggestion of apple in the general boozy juiciness of the fragrance, but the warm spicy notes are definitely the ones that stand out - so much so in fact, that I understand why some people find this unisex fragrance more masculine than feminine. It's definitely not too much for my own taste, though, and spices aren't usually my favourite notes. So this is really just as perfect for a cold, misty day in autumn as I was hoping for - in fact, it has everything to become a particular fall favourite: warm and comforting without being either too immature or too overwhelming, very longlasting, and cheap to boot! The only things that some might consider downsides are that it doesn't change much throughout its long life span, and that it's not exactly a sophisticated, elegant kind of scent. But these things don't matter to me, because I'm no Coco Chanel, and I wear so many different perfumes that I don't have time to get bored by any of them. I think this decant will be used up faster than most, though!

I've been wearing this for a couple of days now, and I am really impressed. The top is pretty alcoholic with the rum note, but it blends nicely with faint citrus notes and a hint of caramel which starts the sweetening process. The mid has two phases. The first phase starts slightly spicy and sweet; reminiscent of Spicebomb (thanks to the cinnamon and floral notes). The second phase transitions into a sweeter fragrance and it gets powdery and sultry (thanks to the immortelle, sugar, and cacao powder). The base takes the second phase of the mid and just completely blows me away. This is my favorite part of the fragrance...it gets sweeter, sexier, drier, stronger!!! It really does start to project more on my skin once the base arrives. The musk combined with all those vanillic notes attaches itself to your skin and projects a smell that reminds you of being in humid, dry heat surrounded by sweet resins (very shocked myrhh is not a note in this fragrance) and fresh vanilla beans. Sounds overwhelming...maybe, but in cooler weather I would love to be reminded of dry, humid sweetness. This lasts about 8 hours on me with the weirdest projection trick I've ever had a fragrance play on me...the projection is best on my skin in the 6-8 hour time frame. I cant wait to try this once the fall and winter seasons arrive.

I've gone through 2-3 bottles over the years, so I thought it's about time I post a quick review. I love this perfume! Well-done!! Dolcelisir goes straight to Dutch Apple Pie when applied to my uber masculine skin. Okay, perhaps a portion of the initial spray reminds me of a distant cousin to Pure Malt, but only for few second before reminding me of Amber Narguile (AN) - not a twin, but a sibling that shares a great deal of that fragrance DNA. As time progresses, this fragrance changes more into a Cinnabon type scent that pays homage to something like Musc Ravageur. Offhand, this scent sits a bit softer and closer to my skin than AN, but overall performance is average as it last 6-hours and projects moderately. Regardless, it's a very nice perfume for the asking price; a bargain! Moreover, I don't agree with Dolcelisir being labeled as a women's fragrance because it can comfortably be rocked by both men and women who enjoy these gourmand scents. The boozy notes are present, but only last a minute or two (initial spray)...powerful yes, but it doesn't rate to be so prominent in the voting since it's there and gone so quickly IMO.

This is my second review, but I deleted the first one because it was unnecessary, since I've completely changed my mind. I said it was too boozy and intense, but that's not the case. This perfume is the most delicious one I've ever smelled! The rum note is sophisticated, that is you don't smell like you are drunk, and it's still a sweet note. I'm not a fan of rum but I really like it in this perfume. As I wrote previously, I don't smell much caramel but I think it's because my nose feels the caramel and the sugar note as they were altogether, which is still cool. I smell also cinnamon, benzoin, amber and cocoa. I might have smelled some citrus and rose but I'm not sure; I didn't get the other flowers, but I'm generally bad at this anyway. Moderate sillage, moderate lasting power. It wasn't as intense as I thought, so there was no cloud of alcohol surrounding me. UPDATE: I got to know this fragrance better, and I can now perceive the caramel note. It's actually more prominent than what I thought, I don't know why I couldn't smell it before. I'm so in love with this fragrance, now I like it even more.

It all started with a swap : i only had 25 ml left in that bottle and was spraying it lavishly because this scent is gourmie addictive : it smells of fresh baked apple pie, with tons of cinnamon and soaked almost in rum, yes : there is definitively a boozy opening, a blast of rum but not disturbing because it is mixed with with fresh bergamot and orange. I smell also quite long the caramel, it lingers constantly in the background and all the flowers are completely "edible" : they are caramelised and sugar coated, don't expect fresh garden flower smell, it is all about the gourmand indulgence : caramel, rum, cinnamon, cacao, vanilla, sugar cane : ahhh, it is an epic scent, real value for money and a must have for those who appreciate such kind of gourmand perfumes. I could almost say that you can take the risk to blind buy it, it is so well blended that risk is small you will dislike it. And if you dislike, PM me, i don't mind to have dozen of back ups :-) i already ordered and received a new back up bottle !! This perfume can really compete with much more expensive niche scents, a real bargain

Good lord is this yummy. For secret santa at work this year I got cinnamon blackberry tea from C.O Bigelow. It's supposed to help control blood sugar. (I don't have diabetes, but I think it may have been a stab at my dessert eating habits heh). Anyway that tea is all cinnnamon and no black berry. It's one of my favorite teas ever it tastes SO good, the perfect cinnamon and it's so magically sweet despite being unsweetened! When I smell this I think of my favorite cinnamon tea, honey, and dried fruit. As others have pointed out it seems like this perfume was created to imitate other popular warm snuggly fragrances, but create a cheaper more feminine "safe" version. This reminds me just a tad of volutes by diptyque. In fact if someone hand made this and said it was a honey cinnamon scent with 1 part volutes to 10 parts hand made fragrance I'd probably find it convincing. I think you ought to try this if you think a sweet cup of cinnamon tea and honey with just a HINT of something deeper and more complicated would be lovely. I find it entirely enjoyable.

O-hohoho! Sweet, boozy fragrance, at first it is like burnt sugar. The rum is strong, like a brownsugar cube dipped in rum and lit. After a while it turns rounder, kinder, sweeter gourmand. God bless in spite of sweetness it's not the tipical sweet gourmand mass product. It has personality like a good Italian desiner. High quality!!! On my skin there is no chocolate or caramel. Sugar, spices, warm sweetness,so it's perfect for colder months. As it makes me think of Brazilia, I could wear it in summer too, somehow it suits bronz brown skin, boozy sleepless nigths, and heat. The drydown is pure cinnamon; sexy-dirty combination on my skin Edit: after a few days' wear I detect a strange change; a not listed, cherry falvoured tobacco, sweet, delicious note! I'm so lucky that I've found this perfume!!!! Better than some niche ones. In the same leage like L'Artisans ( my favorite house).

Nose Note #347 Opens with a cherry note. The start reminded me of Armaf Radical Brown (in my opinion a better rendition of Mancera Red Tobacco / PdM Herod) with this cherry and "kind of tobacco" combo. After 10-15 minutes it starts to move into the direction of our all-beloved friend Angel's Share - cinnamon, tonka, apple pie. Cherry acquires a minty bubblegum tint. I haven't smelled Hermessence Ambre Narguile Hermès, but if it fathered this - then that's a beautiful fragrance. Apparently Dolcelisir is discontinued now. Khamrah and other Angel's Share clones won't really work as a substitue for this. To me this does have a prominent cherry note which is one of my favourite. Maybe some other clones like Kismet Magic have cherry, but Khamrah is a little too sweet for my liking. Overall, amazing.

This is soooo good. I have not tried Ambre Narguile for a bit, so won't be comparing the two, but on its own, this is a really lovely fragrance. The first spray was not that great, I had an impression I smelled a pretty strong alcoholic smell. That was gone within a minute or two, and what you get later, is the gourmand feast of delicious boozy apple pie with a huge dose of cinnamon. The drydown is all about benzoin, vanilla and tonka. The amber gives it a nice, resinous depth. And the best thing is- the lasting power. I sprayed it to test before going to bed, in the morning, 12 hours later, it is still going strong on my wrists. I would not go as far as to call is a masterpiece, but it is a super-well made cosy scent that is worth giving it a go if you like rich, gourmand scents.

After my second day of wearing Dolcelisir I find it to be a great scent. To my nose I get more of a cola vibe which some call a cherry pipe tobacco smell... Either way it is a very pleasant way to start the scent. After the top fades I get lots of vanilla and amber mingled with a little cinnamon here and cocoa there. The other notes listed I don't get a significant wiff of but there is something in addition that I can't place that pops up.... I can't compare it to Hermessance Ambre Narguile due to never having put my nose on that juice, but I find Dolcelisir to be great. It does lean slightly more feminine to me than Meharees (which is awesome as well) but no less awesome for me and a total winner especially for $37 dollars US for 100 ml (I got lucky LOL!). Enjoy!

At first sniff, I do get the jammy undertone of 24Gold from scent story, but it's really not worth mentioning it cause it's nothing like 24Gold. It's like Meharees without the cloves and coated with the tobacco from TM's Pure Havane/ Parfumes De Marley's Herod. If this is compared to Ambre Nargiuile, and I've never smelled that, I don't get the baked apple pie reference. This is creamy, tobacco, cinnamon, and milky vanilla. I don't get apples. This truly is an awesome scent. It isn't loud. It's sits close to the skin. The longevity is around 5 hours. Totally worth the hype and so glad it's in my collection. A great reference for anybody that isn't ready to commit to the really expensive niche frags, yet.

lo risento oggi, con più attenzione, dopo averlo spruzzato a lungo e dopo averlo gardito senza pensarci troppo. perchè è un profumo non impegnativo e, nonostante sia piuttosto dolce, rimane leggero. l'inizio è intossicante: mi sembrava mandorla amara, poi, annusando meglio, credo sia la sensazione di rum che a me pare piuttosto di amaretto. questa fase, lievemente disturbante ma in senso buono, lascia il passo a sensazioni di cannella, qualche chiodo di garofano e, infine una bella ambra all'arancia. l'accordo è molto godibile, peccato che su di me duri davvero poco. dato il prezzo, però, ci si può spruzzare abbondantemente.

BLUF: Smells very similar to Hermés Amber Narguilé, one my Top 5 favorite fragrances! Dolcelisir gets the job done! 1/5 of the price, the slight differences do not justify the price difference, at least for me. Dolcelisir smells amazing, lasts long and projects strongly. No more than two sprays around the neck, or I will suffocate! Quality juice in this bottle! Don’t know if they’ve been reformulated, I’ve bought my bottles back in 2015. Thank you to those reviewers and frag heads who introduced Dolcelisir into my life, saving me lots of money in the future as I will always have this scent in my collection.

fiquei muitíssimo feliz em ter descoberto essa jóia, idêntico ao caríssimo Ambre narguile (Hermes) só que por um preço ridiculamente mais baixo. eu não sinto todas as notas dessa rica pirâmide. Me remete a uma deliciosa e suculenta torta de maçã com canela, perfume quente. Especiado. Consigo sentir o rum tb. ao meu ver me parece linear, tomara que com o tempo eu aperfeiçoe meu olfato e consiga sentir essas notas todas. Esse perfume é nota 10 p mim. Excelente fixação e ótima projeção. Não fica atrás do hermes não. Vale muito a pena

I just got it but I think I'm gonna like it a lot :) At first moment it's very boozy, with a bit of cinnamon, and lots of benzoin. Then it evolves into Tea For Two kind of scent - warm, bit smokey, bit vanillary dupe for L'artisians creation. After that a real magic happens and the whole scent turns into divine mixture of Blue Sugar [but without patchouli], L by Lolita Lempicka and Pink Sugar, but a bit creamier than those three. In the drydown I find loads of caramel, vanilla and cinnamon - lovely gourmand with some depth inside.

Now look it is very similar ro bogart pour homme wich i own and like very much. But!!! This is more cherry and butifull Sweat fresh and natural tobacco Althou they are very similar this is more Unisex then bogart and i have to say The quality is just super super good. I gift it to my wife couse she love Vanilla but this was a good suprise couse she like it very much but there is not much Of a vanilla with all the spices around. its the best natural verginia tabacco smell i ever came across. Performence very good 10 hours.. Enjoy

It's incredible how good this fragrance smell for only 27 euros/100ml! A delicious boozy gourmand blend, perfectly unisex, easy to wear and very addictive. It reminds me a bit of Pure Havane, but I dare to say Dolcelisir is even better. If you live in Italy, you love gourmand fragrances, and you never tried this, then RUN to the nearest L'Erbolario store! You can thank me later. =) Fantastic performances on my skin, lots of compliments, and is so affordable, almost too good to be true. But it is!

Have been wearing this perfume for 10 years! Since I've found it in a market in Florence, Italy. It is absolutely unique - sweet, warm, rounded, sexy and everyone will recognize the beautiful smell as soon as you enter the room! My favourite hints were of honey and cinnamon - and I do fully agree with whoever describe it as smelling like an apple pie fresh out of the oven. Unfortunately, l'Elbolario has stopped its production! I am heartbroken.

A beautiful Fall fragrance... I tried this today on one part of my arm along with Perlier Vanilla Coffee (I recieved both as a lovely decanted gift so I just had to, you know how it is) and I smelled of coffee cake while sitting on the porch on a cool Fall morning! Beautiful! This fulfilled my need for a perfect Fall fragrance! My hubby bought this for Anniversary gift. Love it! Sad though now it's very hard to find!

هع اريد ان اقضم يدي بعد ان رششت العطر لاختبره عطر جميل شرقي ربما قد تشم بعض النوتات التي سبق اون شممتها في احد العطور الشرقية اذا كنت محب لايعني هذا العطر ثقيل بالعكس هو فواح ومغربي وعصري ورسمي سعيد باقتناء هذا العطر ستشم او ستلحظ في حال تدقيقك وفي حال معرفتك السابق بروائح بعض المكونات ستلحظ امور كثيرة في العطر العنبر والفانيلا والورد والكراميل بصراحة عطر جميل سويتي يصلح لجميع الاعمار :) ساوفيكم بثبات العطر لاحقا

Does bear marked similarities to Hermes Ambre Narguile, but IMHO better! Has sweet and slightly syrupyness but a bit less fruity, with more Cinnamon, balsam, vanilla, sweet warm spice!..definitely rum, & powdery cacao, and a bit of caramel. Not honey like Ambre Narguile. Starts to get the same slightly woody note as Meharees (signature L'erbolario base, maybe?)...goes away though

It's a lovely gourmand fragrance. On my skin I can mostly smell the rum and the cinnamon, slightly the caramel, and I smell clove in it quite intensely. It's not among the ingredients, but I can smell it... For the first 20-30 minutes it's a very intensive frgrance, but later it becomes lighter, and what stays for hours is a comforting gourmand "almost skinscent".

Wow this perfume was a surprise! On my extremely dry skin it smells at first like vanilla but within ten minutes changes to a sexy amber powdery scent with a hint of something deeper. It actually is a strong scent on me which never happens with vanilla sweet scents. This is very elegant and sexy scent! I love it!

Fantastico!! Un profumo molto dolce ma speziato, caldo,assolutamente non scontato!! Vale molto più del suo prezzo! è a lunghissima tenuta, si sente molto bene il rum e lo zucchero di canna. Se non conoscessi le componenti del profumo lo definirei tabaccato, un tabacco dolce e avvolgente.

Pipe Tobacco done the Italian way. Simple yet exotic! Have used it for years, especially indoors on colder days, due its sub par performance. IFRA's fragocide or Brand's greed !?! The new formulation (imho) has killed the fragrance and therefore I bid farewell. IG: @Eclectic.Scents

I always think of rum punch next to candied almonds when I wear this (although no almonds were harmed in the making of this perfume) and I wear it often in cold weather. I really love this scent and I'm already thinking I'll never find an adequate replacement for this one. Unique.

This perfume for me is like crossing an old cafeteria's door in a cold snowy day. The wood counter, the gourmande smell of hot drinks, but different from a patisserie,less yummy just warm and cozy. A really nice and complex scent at this price. Definetly for winter! Love it

Lovely quality and fragrance, very unisex. I get like an apple pie with cinnamon and rum over an amber base, and yes, it's it is as delicious as it sounds! Best part beside the price it's they also do soap and body cream. I'm quite liking this brand.

Brava Myjebo, this is a real clone of Tobacco Vanille (T. Ford) but what a price: 25,5 euro 100 ml vs 260 euro 100 ml!!!! Ehi I love TV but it's a shame for the niche perfumery and not just that........

So spicy and so boozy, I think the name is a little misleading for me, it is not so sweet. Will work great in the winter months. Great sillage and longevity. My bottle's juice level is dropping fast!

This is amazing fragrance. For me it's a masterpiece. In my top 5. Sweet and intoxicating. He last more 10 hours on my skin and he projects very well. Very good quality/price

Worht a try! Very rich long lasting candy like perfume. I recommend it for winter (cheaper solution than Guerlain La Petite Robe but gives a same feeling.

It reminds me Spicebomb by Victor&Rolf and La Nuit de l`Homme Yves Saint Laurent. That's why i think it is unisex. It is warm and very, very nice

Yes, very sweet indeed. It starts with a blast of rum, but that doesn't last very long. About five minutes later, caramel emerges and blends with the rum, balancing it out. It's a very syrupy scent. I can also smell honey and sugar. Not sure about vanilla or cinnamon, at least not yet. This is supposed to have the same drydown as Méharées, another favourite of mine from L'Erbolario. This is definitely sweeter than Méharées, but I can't really decide which of the two I enjoy more. I guess I can't really compare them, as they are both unique and beautiful in their own ways. I must say, however, that while I wouldn't have any problems wearing Méharées every day, I feel I would probably get tired of the thick sweetness of Dolcelisir. I think this would do well as a comfort scent, especially on a cold, rainy day. Sillage is soft on my skin. Not sure about longevity yet, but I'll keep you posted. UPDATE: I've had this on for two hours, so I guess I must be smelling the very last accord of this fragrance. It does not smell like the drydown of Méharées. It's sweeter: mostly caramel/vanilla/rum. Méharée's drydown is a musky/dirty (in a good way)/spicy vanilla. This drydown is my favourite stage of Dolcelisir. I get pleasant whiffs of it every now and then, and I seriously doubt anyone around me would be bothered by this fragrance. It's noticeable enough, yet soft enough. Longevity on my skin is 12+ hours.

The gluttony of crème caramel and the fineness of panna cotta accompanied by a cup of rum... I tried it today, and I can say this fragrance is rithfully a real gourmand! Compared to some of the most popular caramel perfumes, Dolcelisir is to them as a dessert of the best restaurant is to a fast-food cake... or as a semifreddo from high confectionery is to a packaged cake from a supermarket. Caramel scents generally are not my thing, but I would be proud to wear Dolcelisir: it's a classy, refined fragrance, not a girly synthetic odor for noses yet to wean. Although its warm and cozy main tones make it perfect for the wintertime, thanks to its softness (rose, lily of the valley and jasmine) and the balsamic notes tipical of mediterranean vegetation (bergamot, orange, elicriso), Dolcelisir is also suitable to less cold season. The only downside is the relatively weak sillage: Dolcelisir is a warm, cozy scent... it's as its best when sniffed close to the skin of the wearer. A masterpiece almost unknown, but happy is he who has the good fortune to have discovered it!

I think the previous reviewers have summed it up nicely and pretty well! I blind bought this based on reviews, encouraged by it's inexpensive price and of course the lovely note pyramid. It's a dry, spicy, boozy vanilla/caramel combination. It's nowhere as gourmand as L de Lolita, yes I agree it's a smoky relation to Tea for Two by L'artisan, I find it less sweet in a good way as compared to SDV by Guerlain but I think Mona di Orio did a better dry vanilla. There is a harshness around the edges of this beauty, it isn't as refined as SDV or Mona's Vanille but at this price, they shouldn't be compared. Sillage is good, about an arm's length but longevity could be alot better, I'm getting maybe three hours maximum before this becomes a skin scent. All in all, I'm happy with this different take on an oriental vanilla.

The most natural smelling 'cologne' I've ever come across. First of all, this is similar to Tabac Rouge of Phaedon. I don't think it is an alternative to Ambre Narguille. We have a candy called Akide here in Turkey Ambre Narguille smells pretty much like Akide so I can't be wrong. This one, on the other hand, has a cherry pipe tobacco vibe done right. I was about to buy it without testing it but I found it in a mall and decided to spray it on my right wrist and on my left hand. Glad that I did. After an hour I couldn't even smell it on my hand. My wife said 'I smell nothing on you'. Too bad that it has an eau-de-cologne performance. Otherwise, it is an amazing juice but I don't need a cologne but a perfume which lasts at least a few hours and projects a bit. The lack of performance is a bummer.

Now this is autumn. Spiced cider, caramel apples, golden tree sap and brightly hued crunchy leaves, with a swirl of bonfire smoke. Akin to Ambre Narguile certainly, but that one is more mom's apple pie cooling on a windowsill, whereas this one is a Halloween carnival. Both have a gourmand deliciousness, and a very definite taste of apple, despite it not being a listed note in either. While sweet, I don't really get vanilla from this, it's a great balance between sweet and savory, salted caramel and rich resins providing a toastiness to the sweeter, smoother notes. Much more to this one than Ambre Narguile, which is I suppose a more day-time, sunny weather equivalent to this. Not talked about enough as a gourmand IMO.

This was a blind buy after reading that it's a dupe for Ambre Narguile. It's similar on me, but not the same. There are similarities, but I get slammed by tobacco upon first spray. Other's describe an apple pie smell, I'm not getting that. Fragrantica lists the notes to include bergamot, orange, caramel and rum, jasmine, rose, immortal, lily of the valley, cinnamon, sugar cane and cocoa powder, patchouli, vanilla, benzoin, tonka, amber and musk. I get the benzoin, then I get a lot more benzoin. On me this is not "a delightfully sweet liquor-like perfume, delicate and precious." This dries down to benzoin and rum on me. I don't dislike Dolcelisir, but I would like it more if I got other notes.

If you adore Ambre Narguile but just can't afford it (who can?) this might just be the solution. I bought a decant on the search for a great new fall fragrance. Spritz... And there was my beloved Ambre Narguile! On me, they aren't exact. But it's close enough that given the enormous cost difference I'll no longer be scraping together little tiny decants of the Hermes fragrance. I'll just buy a big, big bottle of this instead. Warm, spicy, yummy. It's a big apple pie hug with a glass of very good whiskey in front of a fire. It's cozy and safe. And one tiny spritz is going strong six hours later so I've got not worries about the staying power of a full application.
