Ginepro Nero

I don't understand people who always need to compare fragrances to some very popular brand. Is it "clone" of any other - no, it isn't. I think most of commeters just don't understad how perfumes are constructed, any synergies etc and probably just copying opinions from anothers. So, my point is - is it really much cheaper than Terre d'Hermes? No, it isn't, it's like 2/3 of Terre d'Hermes. Is it really "clone" of any Terre d'Hermes? No, it isn't. If are you really looking for a clone - then go and buy really cheaper clone, there's a lot in the internet. What exactly is simmilar? Pepper and vetiver or juniper and cedar (depend of version of Terre). Was Terre d'Hermes first which mixed pepper and vetiver or juniper and cedad? I have no idea, but I don't think so... Anyway they are not "clones" for sure. What is absolutely amazing in all Erbolario scents - they all are super natural, very simple and tasteful. They are not "spectacular", "schocking" or "super modern", they are more like a modern-classic scents inspired by tradition - and this ins they power. Ginepro is very good scent especially for young men who want's to feel like a classic man but with a note of "teen spirit". For more adult men I would recommend rather Accordi di Ebano or capriccio of classic Cologne - Uomo. Junipro might be your school/office scent, but i would like to advice - apply it 1-2 hour earlier because opening is very strong. Maybe it is better to use at afternoon/evening. I have never worn Terre d'Hermes (just tested them on arm) - so I can just imagine they have simmilar base tones (vetiver and black/pink pepper) but is is kind of "traditional men mix" - so it is not because Junipro is trying to be a clone of anything. I love incense perfumes and this is the example how to mix incenses with citrus and wood tones to make "smoky-fresh" masterpiece. A bit to sweet for me (it' probably because of orange and a lof of juniper fruits) but I like to use it as like refresher for a heavier, woody scent, so they make a good ballance together. Very good quality, natural perfume.

I own this perfume and I didn't even noticed the similarity to Terre d'Hermes before reading here below, but hey..we all know that there is no future after TDH and Encre Noire..let alone a past. To be fair, in this perfectly crafted scent, there is the masculine vibe you'd look for in a masculine scent, without making it old fashioned (whatever that could ever mean). Main note is juniper berries, to those who have never smelled a juniper before : it smells like Ginepro Nero. So expect a very balsamic, woody yet fresh sensation. Clean and uplifting. Vetyver is there to support the show along with a subtle pepper but, no surprises, everything is ultra-balanced. Longevity and projection are up to the skin, but I'm sure it won't fail to create a pleasant aura around the body. In my opinion L'Erbolario keeps on displaying a superior craftmanship and a niche quality that you can find only in way more expensive houses.

A versatile citrusy woody fragrance close to Terre d'Hermes family. But a little more green and resinous.. Masculine and fresh can be used in every season. The only problem here is its longetivity. Maybe that's the reason that is not so popular.. 8/10

This is not a TDH clone, this is TDH done right. Much more pleasant to my nose, more complex and much more friendly with my wallet. A fragrance that's always gonna be in my collection, I totally love it.

Truly beautiful! In my opinion it's not similar to Terre d'Hermes; the orange note in fact is not prominent as in Ellena creation. Woody, dark, peppery.....a must try.

2-3 hrs of heavy projection on my skin plus 3-5 hrs skin scent. Very masculine, lot of juniper, fresh, woodsy and summery all day long.

Terre has a rotten orange note and this doesn’t . I like both. This has a huge dose of iso e super (massive)

I love this! It's as good as Terre d'H but a lot cheaper. Honestly i can't find differences with TdH.

It is really versatile, but it is specifically made for a walk near the beach with no sun despite being day, and lots of wind. It is fresh, a hint of colour green almost like a bush or leaves, but the best part are the juniper berries although mild, i wish it was more prominent. The only "bad" part of this perfume kicks in if your nose gets accustomed to it, then for a period of time it smells like bitter sunflower seeds. People say its reminding them of Terre d'Hermes but thats not the case. It does have vetiver and citrus but they are in a way opposites. Terre d'Hermes is warm orange color, while Ginepro nero is cold. Ginepro nero is more complex despite being well blended. I like it.

This is a good fragrance but it's not Terre D'Hermes. It is more tart. Less vetiver. Less complex and doesn't last on the skin. Opening is better then drydown. TDH is my all time favourite and Ginepro just can't replace it. I think that TDH is more manly while Ginepro might be suitable for women as well. TDH is still the undisputed king. I think Genpro is lovechild of Encre Noire and Terre D'Hermès.

For me, this is a “screenshot” of the top and hearth of Terre d’Hermes. Bitter orange, juniper berries, and a woody base with some added warmth. No “earthy vetiver” here, and the overall frag is less deep. But, if you can buy this for less than half of TdH, it’s a no brainer. Good performances, also: 8 sprays give me constant whiffs of it for easily 5 hours.

Blind bought this frag, not too sure about the Terre D'Hermes [1] similarities - but as a standalone frag this is solid. Pepper notes are very heavy for me which is a plus, with masculine woodsy feel. Longevity is disappointing (2-3 hours). 7/10 [1] - Jean-Claude Ellena (2006)

This one really reminded me of Terre d'Hermes. Good perfume (it's for men but the lady in the shop told me that many women love it too), just not too original.

Great woody fragrance, has average longevity, great silage and price is great. Good part is I got lots of compliments wearing it, but it is more mature scent.

This is a great everyday scent for guys! It's fresh and woodsy without being too overwhelming. I get lots of compliments on it.

I got this fragrance from my perfume collector auntie, because she said she doesn't need it anymore. This fragrance is definitely not my cup of tea, but I will be as objective with the rating as I can be. So when you first spray this fragrance, you instantly get hit with this very strong pinecone, woody smell. As the ingredients show, this fragrance contains juniper berries, which can definitely be detected. To me this fragrance is just bland, there is no other note you can detect except the woody pinecone and slight citrus. This fragrance smells very much like alcohol or after-shave lotion. The perfume leans masculine. Overall, I personally wouldn't recommend this fragrance because you can find similar smelling ones that don't just smell like Gin.

I'm not a fan. Seems like a lot of the L'Erbolario fragrances use these citrusy notes and although this one has some depth to it, I can name a dozen of better citrusy fragrances that are in my opinion better. It's not an offensive fragrance and shouldn't displease anyone which might make this one worth considering

declaration of cartier and terre d'hermes inside.. very strong performance but... i don't like this type of supermasculine mature scents. But you have declaration or tdh with low cost here! try it!

Sarà anche nella categoria men ma, ma da donna, amo questo profumo! ho già acquistato altri prodotti di questa linea e mi piace sempre. Lo uso in inverno ma credo potrei portarlo anche nelle serate estive. Ginepro, vetiver, muschio, pepe, cedro, agrumi.. Intenso, pulito, aromatico.

Gin crossed with Terre EDT, at the expense of the flinty signature accord I personally dislike Terre dupes, most miss the point entirely and don't capture the cedar/Iso E vetiver flinty walnut quality of the EDT, which makes it special. Ginepro Nero embraces the lack of the directive support of genius perfumer Elena and doesn't even try to emulate his signature flint accord, instead giving us heaps of juniper berry/gin and peppery green elemi pretty much all throughout the formula. The opening citrus is also not as interesting, but the juniper berries (in case you love them like I do) effectively fill the hole in the fragrance linking nice to the cedar/Iso E and standard earthy woody vetiver/vetiverol in the base. Regardless of all of its short coming, Ginepro Nero is very fun to wear, cheapie juniper berry Terre d'Hermes is the guilty pleasure I never knew i needed. The shower gel is also great. Not much longevity so the 100ml is almost a requirement here.
