1900 L'Heure De Proust

As a person who drinks tea every day and LOVES tea fragrances, I’m very obsessed with this one!! It opens with sweet, slowly simmered blueberry compote, paired with Earl Grey tea infused with juicy pomelo. On the initial spray, I noticed a kind of steam surrounding the aroma, not from the tea itself but from the air around it. The tea feels lukewarm, but it's something to reach for after a warm bath or on a hot summer day in the shade to cool down. It feels quite quenching, so I especially love spraying this after my long bath. As it settles, the tea gets faintly smoky and the blueberry starts to take on a slight caramelized quality. After about 1h however, the tea slips into the background. Like eating the fruit topping of a blueberry tart while sipping the very last bit of tea left in your cup. The drydown feels like the blueberry is cooked down further and sweeter, turning into something more like blueberry candies. The sillage stays just under arm's length with 1-2 sprays, and when I applied it after a shower, I was able to catch a trace of it overnight (8+ hours), but I’d say the main body of the scent usually lasts around 5-6 hours on my skin. What I love most about this perfume is how it has multiple facets, moving from tea to dessert to sweet treats. Definitely getting another bottle once this one runs out! :)

What a clever perfume. When I first smelled this as a sample, without looking at the notes, I straight away thought of a fruit punch with lots of passionfruit and I absolutely loved it. It spoke of thirst quenching and refreshment so I purchased the full bottle. It is so interesting to discover the listed notes, would not have guessed at the outset. Sure, you can read the note, sniff the perfume and identify the little bits and pieces, much more evident in the heart. But it will always be my initial impression, my summertime quencher. I have shared this scent with other perfume lovers and they are all impressed and enjoy it. Final comments... I love these bottles, I love how the text is on and around the lid - very smart considering that our usual perspective of selecting our perfumes is from above. Also the texture and facets on the body give it that luxury aspect.

This is a delicious tea party of a fragrance, with blueberry and juicy citrus and tea dominating, backed up by notes of sweet praline and vanilla. (In Swann's Way the narrator actually dips his madeleine in a lime-scented tisane to trigger his reclamation of the past, but the popular imagination has long since insisted that he dips it instead in tea.) It smells like a delicious lemon-blueberry scone or muffin dipped in tea. I've never put my nose on any other fragrance like this before, and it's pretty heavenly. If you can afford it, it would make for a real treat, as much as I usually do not care for gourmand fragrances. It winningly evokes the past without seeming old-fashioned.

I must correct my former review a bit: I absolutely love this fragrance. The citrus and blueberries, the slightly bitter herbal and smoky note of tea, the vanilla that is not too sweet and the woody base. When testing it for the first time it didn’t seem to last a long time, but I recently wore it to work on a hot day and it performed very well. I could smell it all day (and others too, given the many compliments I got), and it was just so fresh, well balanced and relaxing. I ordered a whole bottle today.

Absolutely love this unique fragrance! It smells like a forest fruit sparkling water. Very fizzy and fruity. You can definately smell the blueberry/grapefruit, the tea and also the woods. 9/10, the only thing that doesn't make it a 10 is bcs of the leather/wood notes. I adore Stricnina by V Canto, so I have no problem with the wood/unisex types of fragrances. I just think it's slightly too heavy in this one, which makes it more unisex than femenine. Will still wear it cuz it's so unique ♡

Saving up for a bottle of this. The pomelo sticks out the most to me, then the tea comes through as a bit of a greenness. I thought it was grapefruit before reading the notes, but it definitely is that grapefruit without the bitter dryness type of pomelo. Very unique, which is also a shame because for the longevity (which is better than a lot of citruses but not a full day) I would like a more affordable alternative but I’ve yet to find one cheaper that has even close to the same notes.

My initial impression is both sweet and sour notes with an underlying woody warmth. I will update this review in a few hours when 1900 L’Heure de Proust fully reveals itself. Updated: longevity is poor, after 2 hours all that remains is a soft whisper of the sweet and woodsy base notes. It is a beautiful fragrance, but would need repeat applications.

Luxurious, herbal, warm, smoky tea scent. The opening is quite sweet and citrussy, but it turns greener, spicier and smokier after about 15 minutes with distinctive tea and leather notes. Unfortunately sillage is very soft and longevity poor: it lasts only a few hours, so for me not worth the hefty price tag.

I'm obsessed with this perfume in a way that I want to spray it every few hours because it gives me such a pick me up when I smell it's evolution. That being said, it obviously doesn't last long enough in a balanced manner. I will continue to try other perfumes with similar profiles.

Yep yep yep this is so similar One Umbrella for Two. Differences are SUBLTE but: OUF2 goes a *tad* more tart where this goes sweet (blackcurrant v blueberry), and that one feels a tad more cannabis-y... but if you have one, you pretty much know the other.

Made in France, "L'heure de proust" is for fruity tea lovers. Fresh, fun, clean and 100% unisex (all ages), it is a little more for spring and summer. For me, this scent is a black blueberry and grapefruit tea. A happy scent. The longevity and sillage are correct/moderate. Compatible for office. 7/10 "Paris at the Belle Epoque. The moment for secrets divulged, whispered close." --> In this brand, I really like: - for spring and summer: 2018 Roxo Tonic (bergamote and neroli, 8/10) and 1979 New Wave (mint and orris, 9/10) - for fall and winter: 1885 Sulfureux (rosemary, mandarin and amber, 8/10), 1986 Eclectique (oak moss, honey and tobacco; 9/10) and 1978 Les Bains Douches (yuzu, whiskey and tobacco; 9/10)

Knowing Jérôme Epinette’s work in the fruit+tea area (Mixed Emotions, Dear Polly, Ghost of Tom) and his penchant for black currant materials, I knew exactly how it was going to smell before I even put my nose to the strip. The scent can be described as sweeter Mixed Emotions without the smoke or One Umbrella for Two without the cakey note. If one have any of the mentioned above, this fragrance is redundant. One thing – it doesn’t smell like blueberries to me, but rather like a combination of tart raspberry with a hint of blackcurrant. The initial fruity accord is identical to shower gel in my country which is also described as raspberry too.

I've come back to testing this one a few times. I'm still not sure how much I like it but I find it compelling. I received my sample in a discovery set from the house. This was my favorite and I've recently ordered another sample to give it more of a test. I don't get blueberry per se - more of a blackcurrent/plum note. It's both tart and sour. Very similar to Mind Games J'Adoube. (I tested these side by side a couple months back but don't recall now what the differences were - I'll update here if I do it again). I can see why it may also read as rhubarb. I need to give this a full day wear test!

It's a really pleasant scent, but it's just weak. It's so weak, that there is no projection at all. I sprayed it while being in a room with other people and asked if they noticed and they didn't. Literally. You'll feel it only if you sniff your hand. Lasts on me 4.5h. Turns into a close to skin scent in the first 10 minutes and barely develops. Citrusy start and tea. Fresh, a little sweet. Where I'd use it: on a flight. May be good for hospital staff or other environments with "limitations", but honestly for this price tag... Not worth it.

Opening notes of blueberry, spices and a leathery grapefruit. Then during dry down the grapefruit becomes more dominant, with a dusty leather as the only other note I can identify. I don’t like using the word interesting (a non descriptor word), but sometimes it’s fitting. L'Heure De Proust smells 50/50 natural and synthetic. I’m enjoying my sample but am not prompted to own it.

Sweet sour teapot. It's very sweet yet herbally mixed and sourly made! it whiffs between sourness, sweetness, and hints of animalic of guaiac wood. Blueberries, tea, grapefruit, mate, caramel, vanilla, and violets. I don't know if i am sensing any licorice, but there is hints of amber. This blend is indeed grandly beautiful with a touch of herbs. Charming.

First impressions, I really like this. It reminds me a lot of One Umbrella for Two, but I prefer this one because it's a lot lighter, and doesn't have the toasted rice note that One Umbrella has, which can easily overwhelm my nose. Really gorgeous, really fresh. But I could see this one not having the sillage or longevity, as others note.

My coworker let me try her sample of this! Wow, soo much sweeter than I anticipated, I love it! In the first spray, it has a strong pomelo scent but it dries drown more blueberry and leather notes. The notes balance very well.

i love this scent so much as it reminds me of summer evenings in the polish countryside, eating crêpes with yoghurt and sugary wild blueberries, and drinking lukewarm black tea. very comfortable, subtle, and close to skin

Powdery, leather violet woods with some vanilla. I do not detect tea or fruit. A unique gourmand that isn't too sweet, and it's quite sophisticated and relaxing.

The fragrance is sophisticated with notes of tea and leather. However, it’s a pity that the longevity of the scent doesn’t last as long as desired.

Although initially pleasant, it somehow ends up smelling like a Christmas candle. I like it, but I don’t think it’s worth the price tag.

Smells like a high end, artisanal fruit candy. It's a gourmand but in a good way. Absolutely no sillage tho.

Fruity tea! Super wearable, comfortable, funky, uplifting! Hidden gem in my opinion

Not slatted. Not evening. On a cool summer morning. Simple and nice. No fuss 🤷🏻♀️

I'm testing Les Bains Guerbois blind and haven't looked up anything about the brand or the fragrances. Sweet, powdery, delicate, flirty. That's what comes to mind during the opening of 1900 L'Heure De Proust. Almost like eating a wonderfully delightful angel food cake without the strawberries, or walking into where delicious sweet taffy is made. While that is its character, I get more muscat grapes, florals, and possibly lemon or a light citrus top. The overall effect comes across very feminine to me but young and/or carefree, maybe even a little superficial (which is fine, some days we just need a mental break). Looking at the notes now, the blueberry was present but is more of an ideal sweet blueberry, like a "blueberry" juice that you find is mixed with apple juice to sweeten it up (I eat blueberries all the time and good ones are dark and sweet, like when you use them in a pie. The citruses make sense as does the black tea (just lighter in the smell and of sweeter variety). The base notes all add something as well. The leather note is the most distant, not even appearing in my experience. While I'm having my own Proustian moment with this fragrance, it isn't for me. It's lovely, but just too feminine and I'm surprised it isn't voted more strongly in that vain, but possibly an excellent gift for the right prancing and dancing carefree person in your life.

Proust is all about memories, and in this way, this perfume did not fail. In college, a friend found out that I loved Blueberry Hubba Bubba, but by the 90s, it was increasingly difficult to find. He ran into it at a gas station and bought ALL THE BLUEBERRY HUBBA BUBBA for me. I spent a good semester chewing this gum while sitting in rooms full of marijuana smoke. That's what this perfume smells like on me. Mid-90s, a college student rental house somewhere in Austin. Good times but not the best smelling. What a huge disappointment. I wish it were performing as well on my skin as it is for others. Oh and when I was trying to see if this gum is still around, I found this comment on a nostalgia website. "the last time i saw this gum was in a store in new york in 1996 i went in to buy a bag of weed and saw the gum on the shelf i bought 2 packs eventually the store got raided and shut down i never again saw blueberry hubba bubba" Dave, who posted at inthe80s.com in 2007, if you run into this perfume review, this might just be the scent for you.

While the first whiff is delightfully fruity, the dry down is an abominable mixture of violet, cold leather and amber which frankly smells like cheap toilet spray. Absolutely headache inducing.

Incensey tea, with a hint of cinnamon and pineapple

I have been on the hunt for a long-lasting version of Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate by Hermès for a while now. It is to me one of the most unique DNAs in mainstream perfumery, crippled only by its tragically short lifespan on skin. I understand that it is a "summer" perfume, and the eau de cologne concentration destined it to be savoured only in the glimpse of a moment. Today I stumbled upon 1900 L'heure de Proust, and to my great surprise this perfume smells 80% like Rhubarbe Écarlate. It somehow has landed in the same rhubarb-y zone with the blueberry, bergamot and pomelo combination. So I tried it on skin to see if I finally found the worthy successor. Alas, the opening wasn't very good. For the first few minutes, you're met with a acidic, unbalanced profile that smells nothing like the dried-down sprayer. But after 10 minutes, the rhubarb-y profile stabilizes. I was happy. But then, after 1 hour or so, the perfume starts crumbling again. Some notes start fading, and we don't have that equilibrium anymore : It just becomes uninteresting. I had my hopes up, maybe someone else will crack the code to the secret of longevity for this scent profile one day.

The opening of this is divine - blueberry and a mixture of sweet, tart, delicate fruit notes (and I usually hate pomelo) with an herbal tea backdrop. Non-gourmand, somehow. Not comparable to any other blueberry scents I’ve tried (especially Poets of Berlin - do we associate anyone who writes with blueberries?), which usually take a warm vanillic or pancake-esque route — this is smashed blueberries in a crepe, and a cup of tea - no sugar or sweetness. Transparent, which is why this works, and doesn’t have an artificial quality to it. The way the drydown mixes in is the CRAZIEST PURE DEPICTION OF A SCENT MEMORY OF A FRESHLY OPENED PACK OF MARLBORO LIGHTS. Not lit, just the exact smell of the fresh cigarettes, foil paper, and lingering static cling from the plastic wrap. That only adds to the Parisian novelty/accuracy, so I give this 15/10 stars and a big round of applause. I actually love it and find it very unique, albeit a bit bizarre to my senses due to association.

I tried many tea based perfumes but this one is the best so far, it’s not just tea it’s more than that. Imagine drinking cold fresh aromatic black tea infused with ripe and sweet blueberries and a hint of mate which give the composition a bit of clean grassy smell, this is exactly what I get from this. Longevity is average like if I do 4 sprays on my neck it last for 4-5 hours but sometimes I need 6 sprays and I still can smell it for 6-7hours. I love it, I have tried many from the brand and this is the best, I personally consider this a masterpiece. Rating 9/10 If it lasted longer I will give it 9.5

I bought myself a 30ml today. It's one of the nicest tea scents I have tried so far. I've tried many such as Wu Long Cha, The Time, Green Stravaganza, One Umbrella for Two... I genuinely liked them but for some reason this one stood out. It's more fruity, less ethereal and not too citrusy. I find it fresh and uplifting. It also helps that it seems to last for ages on my skin. I sprayed it at 5.30pm on my forearm. It's now 11:40pm and still going strong even after a shower. I will use it sparsely.

I wanted to love this. Blueberries, tea, maté and Proust?! I’m in! But on my skin this smells like pot smoke most of all. I totally agree with BitByBit’s review way down below. I get the blueberry and pot smells most of all. And as someone who loved One Umbrella for Two, this doesn’t smell alike at all. I realize I’m an outlier but I think it’s best to try a sample and not blind buy in case your skin pulls the notes differently like mine.

My first thought after the first sniff: Floraïku's One Umbrella For Two. The similarity is obvious, but they are quite different. To me, 1900 is more wearable. One Umbrella is kinda more 'flashy' and tiresome, and turns into something kinda weird, after the initial gourmand-ish flare dissipates. 1900, on the other hand, stays subtly confiture-like (I don't agree with the tea analogy reiterated by many), more sour than sweet.

One of the best black tea fragrances on the market today! The fruity opening lingers throughout the entire experience and creates a playful background for notes of black tea and mate. Leather, iris, and a guaiac wood are also listed notes although my nose is not strong enough to detect them in singularity. The composition is neither masculine nor feminine, and overall office safe.

I have I See Clouds Go By and One Umbrella For Two from Floraïku and this one is a perfect combination of both of them. It is nice because I'm fond of those two. Starts with tangy tea scent like I see the clouds go by and ends up with sweet blueberry cupcake like One umbrella for two. But it is lighter and less sweet, so more wearable in summer than One umbrella for two.

Byredo Mixed Emotions 40% + Pulp 60%, tone the overripe fruitiness down, and the bitter ashy tea way way down. It also has some savoury herbal and body odour-like quality that doesn’t smell like tea. Perhaps it is the addition of leather, which my skin likes to amplify. I thought I’d like it more, it smells like Pulp without as much punch.

After the initial fresh and uplifting top, what I was left with in the dry down smells like a type of blueberry flavoured chewy candy you can find in France; maybe it's available elsewhere, too. Anyway, it's a fruity(blueberries) and tea scent. It's not too sweet actually, despite coming off as fruity. Not for me.

Really similar to Floraiku One Umbrella for Two. Almost identical. But the drydown is different. 1900 has more blueberries and that tea leathery smell in the base notes and less of that sweet candy note. The longevity and the price is also better than Floraiku.

A cup of citrus-sweetened matcha green tea, with a pinch of red fruits. Good for visiting friends on a mid-season afternoon. A sparkling note in the air without being intrusive. Comfortable. EC ⭐️⭐️⭐️

A blast of blueberries and black tea in the opening, as it starts to dry down the Soddy notes appear but it seems that is fading away pretty quickly I don’t know I’ll need to test it more.

Not very similar to One Umbrella which is sweeter and more tutti frutti.. This is more like a cross between Pulp and L'Ombre Dans L'eau, tart and aromatic like black currant bud absolute.

Beautiful fresh, sweetish tea! Very well balanced, perfect for warm weather. Can be definitely worn by both men and women. I think I’m getting a full bottle ❤️

Revel berry guayaki yerba mate but it has enough sugar to make you prediabetic
