2013 Residences L’artistes is predominantly woody like raw sandalwood with a fresh violet, musky natural peach (not bitter like the pit or rancid), slight spicy-leathery scent. The musk similar to how Le Labo does theirs, especially in Another 13, Gaiac 10, and The Noir 29. Very pretty in a niche way. Love the sillage. The projection is good on me, but light after some hours. I wonder if that’ll change overtime. Regardless, I just love stumbling over the perfect amalgamation of other loved fragrances including Ex Nihilo Cuir Celeste that blends its leather, violet, and ambrette similarly but in a fresher, ozonic way. It’s an all-for-one special. Glad the cumin musk, a note listed on the website, doesn’t amplify on my skin in a pungent way because I can see how that would be polarizing lol. It's really aired out and works so well on my skin, coming off like a hint of spice. Not too peppery and not herbal. What makes this for me is the violet, which is usually done in a very powdery and candied way. However, in here it's done fresher, slightly green like the violet leaf which connects with me more and makes the peach, a fruit I don't really like in fragrances, work in here. The clean leather married with fruit and fresh floral reminds me of a few works I loved from Hermès.

I actually really, really like this. Very much unisex, and can be worn at any time of the day and in any season. Opens with really lovely citrus and cardamom/light spice and it mellows down quite gracefully into a slightly powdery, yet unapologetically woody fragrance. The citrus stays in the background which is why I think it's unisex. It's a dry, cold fragrance so I'm excited to try this in winter, but it doesn't project amazingly and longevity is about 5-6 hours on myself. Got this half price at £80 for 100ml, otherwise it's about £150-160 for 100ml which I'd say is overpriced. Can't stop sniffing my arm where I've sprayed it for that amazing wood and citrus spice. Nothing like it in my collection, but it's not entirely unique either. Could imagine a top designer house making something similar and doing extremely well with the right marketing. Would give it a 4/5 purely based on it's lack of projection and longevity as I like beast mode fragrances, but definitely a beautiful scent in it's own right.

This is one of my favourite fragrances ever. It gives me a sauna vibe with natural purity of plants and it creates a little cloud around me, as if it's almost breathing on its own. It helps me concentrate on things and it's kind of empowering, even though that it's not a beast mode frag. I might say that it's a beast mode for the meditative fragrances. I might edit later, as it gives me constant joy and I'll always want praise it. This is such a glorious scent! Yes you smell like you’re sweating in a sauna, but I kind of love it. The spices and plant smells are so good here. In a way I hope it doesn’t project too much like my beloved Proust which I just stop smelling on myself after 10 minutes, because this is what’s going to make me very happy smelling but don’t want to put off others in case they don’t like this... but they should!

The most expensive sauna in the world. Pillowy peach, dry hot wood, warm skin, a delightful sparkle on the surface. Definite Feminite Du Bois vibes, particularly in the dry down - this one is less spicy, more peachy. Divine.

Made in France, for cardamome and sandalwood lowers. Perfect for fall and winter, 100% unisex to my opinion. I cannot smell peach... I can smell cardamom, sandalwood and leather. A cosy & warm scent, for days and nights. Compatible with Office. The sillage and longevity are moderate/low with my skin (it is more a skin scent, so not bold). 7/10, too expensive for me. "2013. I wish there were a little more sweetness to balance out the wood & leather. The leather blooms on my skin (I perceive a leather similar to Ombre Leather), so much so that the peach gets buried. I was initially afraid of the "hidden" cumin note a few others in this thread mentioned, but I don't smell any (and I'm usually very fussy about cumin, as it smells like BO to me). I think there's something about the leather or musk notes that mixes with the skin to bring out a little of the skin's natural scent (a little like BO). I think this scent would be what some classify as "animalic". I really wanted to love this one, but it's more of a like. This will mostly satisfy someone who wants a masc-leaning, dry, leathery scent with just a hint of fruit (the accords listed above are spot on). I'd like to think this is how an ancient Greek would smell on a warm spring morning while eating fruit in a field under a tree. It's lovely, but I'm unsure if I'd splurge on a full-sized bottle (maybe a 30ml will suffice). I think this fragrance would be best suited as a "transitional" scent during the cooler days in spring and fall.

Woody, spicy, yet also overwhelmingly soapy. The leather comes through when I think about it, but the combination of leather and the strong powdery-violet note reads as soapy. I like this best when I think about it in terms of using saddle soap in the tack room of a very high-class horse barn where the wood paneling is always freshly scrubbed and everyone keeps their blankets in sandalwood chests. Interesting, pleasant, but not something that I find delightful or evocative enough to want to routinely carry around with me.

Fresh spices mixed with nicely balanced citruses and some musky (and somewhat dirty) note that smells a bit sweaty (maybe it’s cardamom that smells a bit like cumin in combination with other notes). It’s quite fresh and woody but something puts me off a bit.

The jasmine and peatiness are beautiful. i wouldn't call it citrusey just more aromatic. very white tea like. very nice. too short of an active fragrance window though.

This smells warm and spicy, a bit sour, reminds me of a sauna on a good day and an anti tick spray on a not so good day.

If Feminité du Bois and Bowmakers had a child, it would be this.

I'm testing Les Bains Guerbois blind and haven't looked up anything about the brand or the fragrances. Smokey and peaty. With dried brush. Reminds me of walking through the desert on a cool day, the day after a controlled burn, where the sage is still aromatic but charred. To me it has just enough smokiness without being in your face or whatever that burnt church vibe that other brand is trying to do (which is more entertainment than fragrance). There's a citrus essence (doesn't smell like citrus) on top, and the wood or incense body, while soft, carries through to the base. Looking at the notes the papyrus, sandalwood, and leather hold the breadth fragrance while most of the tiniest bit of the other notes give it character, except the peach, which I don't find present at all.

I wore 2013 Résidence d'Artistes yesterday and I was not impressed. I consider myself forgiving in terms of longevity but two sprays of 2013 burned off in under 30 minutes. I don’t think it was a case of nose blindness. In fact I thought for a moment that I had forgotten to wear fragrance. I also find no similarity between this and Feminite De Bois. Both compositions share a couple of notes—namely peach and sandalwood— but the comparison stops there as they are mixed differently. 2013 is much thinner and transparent, lacking the sexy oomph that the Serge Luten’s masterpiece has.

I've tried my best to love this perfume, but I feel as if I've bathed in tobacco every single time I wear it. That is the single note I'm stuck with, no matter the temperature, weather or mood.

This and 2015 Le Phenix are legitimately nauseating, I'm so sorry to those who love this fragrance. Maybe my hormones are doing my nose dirty, but this smells like a sweaty-sock-type leather with a tinge of sour citrus, which just makes it smell like body odour. I'm trapped in hot car, with old leather seats, the driver is sweating and hasn't used any deodorant (or, the deodorant has worn off), he smells sour, and it's a jerky ride, making my motion sickness worse. Dear god, my oil-based cleanser couldn't save me quickly enough. The citrus lingers on my skin even after 3 scrubs, which is good news, I guess, for people who love this fragrance. It's really rare for me to hate a perfume but this one does it (and this is coming from someone who LOVES Feminite du Bois, Dolce Vita, and all the other sweaty-cedar-cumin-fruit creations. This has nothing to do with those.)

It is not listed here, but the cumin is extremely potent in this scent, so stay clear if you are like me and can't stand it. For others it can be quite enjoyable.

Cinnamon leather, & sweet violets. This blend is bathed with cinnamon, and herbal mandarin. I get huge doses of cinnamon that is supposed to give leathery texture as the peaches, the violets, and the sandalwood gives the effect with the help of a burnt cinnamon powder. The cardamom is so harsh thus it tries to turn the blend into something spicy and herbal but the overdosed cinnamon is preventing this to happen. This could be thought of sweet leather but overall it's smokey, yet sweet herbal. Very cute.

I simply cannot detect peach or cardamom notes in this. On my skin this smells like elegant, chalky sandalwood.

Sounds a lot like Istanbul Atelier Rebul. Very nuanced.
