beautiful, beautiful pepper. pencil shavings or sawdust. creamy sweetness. a woody, powdery scent, sexy and grounding.

The opening almost reminds me of Hot Milk, however maybe that is because I was smelling some of Hilde’s perfume’s so it’s on my mind. But I digress, the opening is black pepper, pink pepper, and milk forward. Following that the woods come out, sandalwood and cedar become more prominent, with the peppers still present. Once the opening dies down the milk fades into the creamy sandalwood. Interesting perfume, personally I wish the milk was prominent throughout. I also tend to like the opening more than the base notes but it’s a lovely fragrance regardless.

Lovely, well made, not ground breaking by any means. A lovely strong sandalwood. The journey starts with a lovely peppery intro. Shortly after the milk bounces in front and a gradual cashmeran body floats in behind with cedar. Over 60-120 minutes this softens and the sandalwood rides in letting you know you have a gorgeous simple sandlwood perfume with a lovey introductory journey. I’d buy except I’ve tried cheaper sandalwoods that do the same.

Pleasant fresh woods with a touch of spiciness and kind of tart smell of a natural tar. For me it doesn’t smell milky, but rather peppery and piny with a touch of sharp wood shavings note. After a while it definitely becomes softer, so it’s quite an interesting scent.

probably wouldn’t buy a full bottle of this cause it’s not my personal style but if I smelled this on someone else I would like it. it’s just more masc / unisex leaning. peppery but very fresh and pleasant.

I think I added Damier to my wishlist after reading comparisons to Stora Skuggan's Moonmilk (my absolute favorite). This is nice, creamy, peppery, and complex, but for some reason doesn't work for me. While it has a nice combination of things going on that I like on paper, it just doesn't work on my skin. It dries down soapy as well, which I don't like. Overall, I almost like Damier, but I don't.

Black pepper spiciness and woods. Pink pepper adds some rosiness, but it's very heavy on black pepper. The woods are fully developed, fresh, and resiny, not dry and dusty. I might be getting a slight milkiness, but not much. I never got any jasmine either. There is a bit of patchouli in the drydown, and maybe cashmere (or maybe it's just suggestion). The next day, what remains is a soft, smooth, woody note. It's really a nice wood, but so weak! With these notes, I think they could have easily increased the strength without IFRA problems. Why so weak?

I really liked it on the first sniff, but I wish it didn't have a milk note because it makes it smells slightly like sour milk. It would've been perfect but it's unwearable for me because of that.

It's sad -- 90-120 minutes later it's a beautiful fragrance. But the first scents are sour milk and old library books. The musk is super off-putting. No...there's just better scents.

Milk and pepper make for a very discordant opening act, and I want to leave the show before I learn where it’s going.

I'm testing Les Bains Guerbois blind and haven't looked up anything about the brand or the fragrances. At first, I felt like I walked into a cave. It was damp, cold, and mineral until more familiar earthiness, then pungent greens permeated the air. At the end something familiar, but also not so pleasant has dominated the landscape. It has a resinous base but carries dryness, almost like a dusty room, with all I can describe right now as a medicinal tone, almost like a muscle cream or something. I hate to say it but it is unpleasant and I want to stop. Looking at the notes now, my experience is somewhat explained, but most is not. I don't get much in the peppercorns, the remaining notes may explain the clashing, especially the milk, cashmeran, and jasmine. If this is a sandalwood fragrance, it feels like it is in conflict.

Wow. It is strong. First comes the sandalwood, then comes something fresh and minty (mint / Pine / fir / eucalyptus or camphor) but very nicely done like if you were in a finnish sauna, cedar and pepper come next. I really have the feeling I am sitting in a wooden sauna smelling wood, steam, oil and minty/piny notes... Very nice. Projection is very strong and longevity also. P.S: I have the cardboard label received from Jovoy Paris together with the sample. Top: black pepper, aldehydes, ping peppercorns Mid: Milk, jasmine Base: Patchouli, musk, sandalwood, cedarwood, cashmere From where do I then get these fresh minty/piny vibes? Reminds me of Tam Dao from Diptyque and TF Santal Blush. In the dry down, i get a bit if incense Opening is much better than dry down

What a strange fragrance! I never would have tried something like this normally because the perfume bottle and brand is so 'normie' but I love this! It is pungent in a gross way so I totally expect anyone who isn't into strange scents to be repulsed by this it smells like incense, something rancid or dead (but in a pleasant way to me?) And woody/peppery. There is no way to describe this scent (or i am not skilled enough to do it at least) but if this review peaks an interest, i highly suggest you get your nose on it because it's challenging but strangely addictive.

wow, this is wretched. I don't think a perfume has ever made me want to throw up, but this one does. Thinking about it makes me queasy. It has the most sickening, suffocating sour milk and ground black pepper note. Like caccio e pepe thats been left out overnight. I hate this lol

Truly one of the most off-putting initial smells I've ever encountered. And yet I respect the creativity and courage? Bizarre! But very classy. Not for me!
