Oud Laque

This one is beautiful. The dry down is like warm cloves wrapped in leather with a light sweetness from dried fruit, a bit of resin, and a hint of dry smoke. The performance on my skin is exceptional...delicious whiffs all day. It is to me unisex, easily wearable by anyone.

Yup. This is HEAVILY inspired by Oud Bouquet. As an owner of Oud Bouquet and Shaghaf Oud, I can tell you that there's 0 doubt about what inspired this creation. Now, is it a pure copy ? No. This has a sharper edge to it. Oud Bouquet is sweeter, smoother. This has a sort of smoky leather aspect that is absent in Oud Bouquet. This is good as an alternative to Oud Bouquet, but IMO it's not as good. For the retail price (210 euros) I'd splurge a bit more to get Oud Bouquet instead.

Definitely more masculine leaning but a strong, woody, mature oud. Good but strong! May not be suited for places like the gym or an office as well as summertime.

I'm testing Les Bains Guerbois blind and haven't looked up anything about the brand or the fragrances. Mature and elegant amber and resin with maybe an oudy side with underlying musky powderiness. I get hints of something rose-like at times too. Nicely deep and sensual. After a while it remains resinous and warm with a vanilla tone. Looking at the name and notes now, I was expecting more floral notes. The cardamon, cloves, geranium, and base notes fit right in, less so the dried fruit. The leather I guess you could argue for but doesn't appear in my experience. Test it blind on a friend and see if leather is ever uttered. I get visions of female power suits more than anything masculine, but could bend either way. Overall, a nice fragrance for the not so bashful.

Strong balsamic scent with lots of floral notes (probably geranium) and boozy spices with slightly sweet undertones. It reminds me of some very bitter and spicy digestive liqueur mixed with some old fashioned fragrance. It’s okay, but a bit dated for my taste.

The opening is straight bug spray to me. Bug spray with some leather and oudy vibes. The composition is indeed interesting and enjoyable but not on me. Later becomes pretty balsamic, with the oud background and is also enjoyable.

Notes seem interesting but the scent itself is pretty mature not very much to my liking There is a certain plastickiness or hairspray quality to it along with some swwetness which i'm guessing should be the dried fruit?

Sweet, fruity Oud. The Oud is genuine, but not animalic. The sweetness and fruitiness aren't too much; just enough to contrast with the Oud. Overall, well done, but lacks originality, imo. It's "nice".

I get leather amber and animalic in dry down. i like it but its too bold for me.

Echoing @RiddlesKitty this is indeed "very animalic and indolic". I'm from the Middle East and own many Oud oils, and I consider myself an Oud lover. This, to me is a very rare 'hate', I got a sample with a frag purchase and did not like this one bit. Obviously, I'm speaking from my personal and subjective opinion. I love some of the Barny/funky Ouds because after a while they are very fragrant, and my nose has grown accustomed to now even enjoy the funky/barny openings of some Ouds, but this is most certainly not something I'd even spray again, I scrubbed it off after 10 minutes, which is sad, as I had only just read about this Maison and was quite looking forward to trying them out. I do have 2 other non-Oud samples from them so will give them a go before attempting to 'maybe' try this one again in a different mindset. Update: After scrubbing this off, I can still smell it, so testament to strength there, but no, I will not try this on for a second time :(

I've worn this a few times now, enough to understand it. Although it may not be evident on first wearing, it is very animalic and indolic. It's much less sweet than Oud Satin Mood and the like, and steers almost into the heavy white floral category despite the note pyramid. As the reviewer below said, "female power suits" indeed. Also, no perceptible classic leather note.

It opens gourmand leather and wood. It seems more masculine. I do not find it a very refined fragrance; it is somewhat in your face, like the other Bains Guerbois perfumes I know, so it enters well in the series of the brand. I am not sure if I appreciate it; must wear it a few times...
