Ambre Supermassive

I'd never heard of this brand and kinda stumbled on this through reading various different reviews, as I'd reached a stalemate with my collection (in excess of 100) and wasn't in the mood for something too avant garde, rather was looking for some classic French perfumery akin to Goutal, Chanel and Hermes. This seemed like a reasonable best, as I enjoy FB blind buying, and accept the perils as part of the challenge within the hobby. Subjectively, this was a hit, within a couple weeks, I'd amassed 8 FBs and smelled another 3 or 4, as I bought quiet a few direct from them and they are pretty generous with their freebies, as are most Maisons. If you like ambers, you will love this. It's nothing new, it's not groundbreaking, in fact I think it's astonishingly overpriced, but I'd still buy it again, I'm tempted to buy the Vanilla one as well, and can't find it reduced *anywhere* so might have to bite the bullet and again pay full price as I more or less did with this one, with no regrets might I add. I will say, that the entire Maison is very high quality, in every sense, and I think Arnaud Poulain is simply an amazing artist in the way he plays with the naming convention that really has nothing to do with( in my humble opinion) most of the fragrances in hand, apart from a handful, this being one of them. There is a mishmash of Angel's Share, Grand Soir, Amber Fetiche, Side Effect, tiny hints of all the really good classic Ambres but maybe slightly underwhelming to the likes of Goutal, etc, but a must if you're into that, so I really really enjoyed this, and I must have or else I'd not have gone down the Maison's rabbit hole and purchased a huge amount from their collections in such a short time. I also loved Cedre, Oud and adored Moment Perpetuel, I despised the Neroli one. and the Champacs one was loved by myself and the wife, in fact we both loved them all in varying degrees of subjectivity. Anyway, I shall stop my ramble and will advise you all to give this and a few of Poulain's other creations within this line. God bless and enjoy :)

Niche December Contestant 19: First impression: This is a beast! A truly "supermassive" sweet-boozy-amber scent with long projection, well blended notes and a unique profile. It also has fruit notes in the top, which instantly gets you noticed if you have a fresh spray on. Main review: This one is very nice in terms of drydown. It becomes a skin scent if you're out and cooled down, but the moment something brushes against the spray spot, or you warm up, it instantly starts projecting and causing a scent trail behind you. It also has a tendency to imprint on clothes and household items (for example, mousepad or armchair) and to not go away completely for a very long time. If you take a steamy shower in the late evening, you sometimes smell it even if you applied it in the morning. It also gets reactivated by other fragrances if you try to apply something else for the evening. It never truly disappears. It just goes dormant. But it is rather costly, with over 300€ per bottle, which is only partially justified by its insane performance. Overall: 9.5/10

A fragrance of contradiction. Rich yet diffusive. Opening with a fruity spiced cinnamon, then layering into this saffron, blonde tobacco, a touch of heliotrope powder, the warmth of liquor and vanilla, it's quite the smooth mix. Oh, and the bottle colourway is perfect and synesthetically pleasing - Warm orange glass with gold accents. This SHOULD be, on paper, something dense, thick, verging on cloying, but the same trickery has been applied to this that was used in the (dryer/less fruity) Ambre Superfluide... airy diffusion. And it's quite magical. It wears ( to me ) like a Quentin Bisch creation ( yeah he has his naysayers, but I respect his craft ). Long lasting, with sillage >>> projection. Gentle reminder to the lazy over-simplifiers. Saffron does not always = Baccarat Rouge. And Ambre Superfluide ( and by extension this ) was released a year before Angels Share, so it's copying nothing. It's its own creation.

Nice and similar to Ambre Superfluide. I didn't give it a generous spray since I want to sell the sample later. Don't know if on skin it las as expected for extrait concentration. However, I think it will give a everlasting but now shouting intimate but intese smell at the end if it final hours after the first 4-6 hours. Just like the Vanille supermassive I have. Edit: One hour later, it's so amazing! It's spices it's permanent vanilla amber with honey flowers. It's more sophisticated and profound and the superfluide version. It will be a luxury in any woman who wears it. It didn't open loud but it is strong and permanent!!! Very potent!!! Edit: 48 hours later, I set on sofa and suddenly I smell in the air it is full of Ambre Supermassive. I found the strip was left beside on the sofa two days ago....I took the strip and smell, it is very potent still. I think it will last forever, just like Vanille supermassive.

I changed my mind on performance this fragrance lasts 10hours + on skin. Currently my favourite fragrance for winter, I would say that is mass appealing both of my parents who aren't fragranceheads like me both really liked it while they dislike some other fragrance I wear. I'm really a fan of ambre suppermassive, I recommand you try it if you have the opportunity !

Beautiful smell, I thought it would be beast mode but it lasts for 7hours on my skin. I really get the apple rhum and amber combo which is so so addictive. In my opinion blind buy friendly scent wise. But performance could be better for the price

Although these two are similar, i prefer the superfluid. Supermassive is a little bit darker (?) and heavier, like a denser honey than the superfluid. Supermassive feels denser and it stays. Less projecting than the superfluid.

This is gorgeous; a sweet yet airy amber. From memory very similar impression to that of Ambre Superfluide, which I also loved. I need to do a side by side comparison to see which one I favour, of the two.

This is an absolute stunner. 10/10. This does not smell like the low-quality Angel's Share at all. It does have some BR DNA, but I like this more. It's sugary, seductive and yet not too juvenile.

It smells like a hot person, male or female, suits both genders.

This is really sweet, I love it instantly when I spray it, but once it dries, it's almost too much. I prefer Plumeria Supercritique, as it's much more powdery than this and cuts some of that sweetness. This perfume is also quite heavy I feel, so more of an evening perfume. I would say that out of all of my perfumes this performs at the same level or better than my Penhaligon's Constantinople. It lasts the full 24 hours, which makes this so worth it, but I would typically layer this with one of my fresher scented perfumes to cut the sweetness.

Not quite otherworldly like Aldebaran or Alto astral, but still very ‘astral’ to my nose. Its beautifully airy and smooth, sweet just enough but for me its uncanny. Plastic and weird, strange stuff - I am attracted and repelled by it at the same time. Rare occasion that a fruity aspect is not bothering me. Kinda luxury lotion kinda astral projection kinda ripe fruits with rose and cinnamon. Performance isn’t great, lasts relatively long but I am more interested in projection which is bad

This will sound bad but it reminds me Deep woods off bug spray in the beginning. a niche luxury version. I don’t hate it. It does dry down SORTOF like angel share. It’s def worth trying out. There’s some Cedar or woodsy note in the base that compliments Everything⭐️⭐️⭐️

I find this quite challenging. Hot and spicy amber overdose with metallic nuances. I think it would be better on a man.

Pafory Advent Calendar 2025 – Day 19 First impression: sweet, juicy, and unapologetically bold. Warm cinnamon hits first, colliding with pineapple and a basket of ripe fruits. Plush, indulgent, and immediately attention-grabbing. Very fruit-forward, very confident. The heart leans hard into richness. Honey in abundance, splashed with rum, softened by rose, and dusted with heliotrope powder. Decadent and almost syrupy - hedonistic, but still surprisingly controlled. The drydown is where it steadies itself. Sweet amber and vanilla at the core, wrapped in clean musk, with a subtle touch of tobacco adding depth and a quietly masculine edge. No saffron on my skin. Just a smooth, musky warmth that lingers. Overall, it’s an addictive elixir of amber, black vanilla, and tobacco that sits right at the intersection of Teriaq Intense and Apple Brandy on the Rocks. It’s a perfume extract, so projection and longevity should be a given. Unfortunately, that wasn’t quite my experience. And at €315 for 100ml, I struggle to justify the price. Full review to follow. Unfortunately, like with the vanilla one, there is nothing massive with this one either. It's pretty much gone after a couple of hours and yes, this one is also suffering from the same modern perfumery sickness: great opening- meh dry down. the bottle is doing the much better job at selling the product than the scent itself. Same goes for the Vanille Supermassive, that one is even weaker in performance.

Earlier this year i’ve reached a point of oversaturation with Incense perfumes. Testing multiple creations that revolve around the same note in a relatively rapid succession does that. Seems like history repeats itself but this time with Amber fragrances. After adding Ambre Sultan to my collection, came samples of Profumum Roma’s Ambra Aurea, Kerosene’s Promises and Parfum D’Empire’s Ambre Russe. I kinda felt my interest for amber take a dip already with Ambre Russe but that one was very well done and managed to throw in enough surprises to not trigger a yawning reaction from me. With that said, i hoped that Ambre Supermassive would give me an olfactive orgasm for it to get a very positive reaction. The name was promising so i had some hopes. Spoiler alert, its not exactly the best thing since sliced bread. BUT! Is it really an amber tho? Im not really getting amber but instead i get rose and apple. I encountered this combo in Frederic Malle’s Promise. Promise is a perfume that on my skin and to my nose behaves weirdly. Its docile but i know for a fact its a beast. Its kinda like the 46cm, 18.1 inch gun of a Yamato-class Battleship but with a silencer on it. Actually, scratch that, its as if the cannon fires near me but i have 100% noise canceling magic headphones on. I could wear 10 sprays of Promise and walk around as a radiocative death-diffuser whilst joyfully singing Naughty Boy and Sam Smith’s – La La La song. Ambre Supermassive behaves much like Promise. Judging from the impression of my felow reviewers, im pretty sure this ain’t a fizzle of a scent eighter. When everyone says its a strong scent, its a strong scent. Im not the type to go against the majority and i will not do so here eighter. Maybe my nose just folds instantly and stands up from the table when it encounters a beast of a scent, it happened before plenty of times. I sense a floral-fruity but also soft spicy sweetness running through the scent. Its bright and inviting but once again, quiet and subdued. I wish i could properly experience Ambre Supermassive (and Promise by extension). It has a killer name for sure and im a sucker for that but you know what? Im glad that atleast its not another yawn inducing amber, be it resinous or generic sweet. Im not exactly sure what it is, but atleast its not that. Its too much of a stranger to be a love but its not a snoozefest eighter so im fine with it. Oh well, onward i go to other things... *humms to self* “Im covering my ears like a kid! When your words mean nothing i go LA LA LA”

Blind bought a bottle as I own and love Ambre Superfluide and was really curious about this new addition. It certainly does not disappoint. While similar, and not exactly the same, one can be mistaken for another, but there are definitely some subtle differences. Ambre Supperfluide comes across as fresher, more herbaceous, probably due to the fir note. Ambre Supermassive is smoother, slightly more sweet, nuttier. I can smell rose in both, but Superfluide is a fresh rose, while Supermassive, sweet rose. The dry downs are also different. Superfluide retains its herbaceous, tobacco, fir character while Supermassive settles into a warm, mellow, vanilla and honey sweet base, but it’s not gourmand. Is it worth having both? I’m definitely happy, but I’m the kind of a collector who likes similar, but slightly different fragrances, and both Ambres from LEP are right up my alley.

I’m honestly surprised by how much I like this! Even though I’m a sucker for amber,I don’t like it when its too fruity or floral and looking at the notes I though this was gonna be a mish-mash of a fragrance but boy am I surprised.It doesn’t pull too fruity.The florals were really apparent to me though,especially the rose.She makes herself known,so if you’re not too big on rose you might not like this maybe.I do see the baccarat comparisons also.Overall,I really do like this and I think it’s unique.Not cloying at all.Will purchase fb! Update:Ended up not purchasing.The rose is too much for me and i think i’m still in a limbo where i cant decide if i’m gaslighting myself into liking this or not.

Amazing fragrance...very much took me by surprise as I just purchased Unique'e luxury beverly hills and saw this was voted similar. I purchased a 1ml sample, just to try, not really expecting much but was blown away....my 1ml sample got more compliments than most of my collection...personally I find this alot better than Angel Share..the cinnamon in that just hits too hard where Ambre supermassive is ALOT smoother....both have the same vibe but this is head and shoulders above imho....9/10

The dry down on this almost creates a clone of OJ montabacco - which I’ve always loved. But it’sa not smoother than the OJ with a little pinch of amber. Very move but I’d probably stick to the OK, especially considering the cost.

Overhyped and sickly sweet. Smells like you took Angels share and sprayed it on a baby wipe. These paid Tiktokers need to be stopped ASAP

These bottles feel extremely cheap for the price. Plastic bottle, plastic cap, even Boss bottles have more care put into them than this.
