Orient Express

Orient Express (Expresso do Oriente, in Portuguese) was launched in 2019 and goes against all expectations that its name was able to create. While I was waiting for a warm, arid, and spicy fragrance, I came across a fruity-floral creation with woody nuances. Orient Express is another one of those rare scents that are unlike anything I have experienced to date. Its fragrance combines notes of cherries and lychee on the top; Rosemary and jasmine Sambac, in the body; Patchouli, vanilla, and cedar, in the base. And, immediately, I can guarantee: it is very powerful! When touching the skin, the lychee makes a beautiful duel with the cherries, although the latter are in the habit of dominating any accord of which they are part. And the smell is confused with the sensation, in a synesthetic state, and what is left is a fruit effect of fleshy pulp (and slightly gooey), such as jackfruit, pitomba, rambutan fruit, and, in this case, the lychee itself. The output is not easy to please. In fact, Orient Express is not a perfume created to please the crowds, but those who enjoy exotic fragrances. This initial fruity experience unfolds into something that – in a simplistic way – could be treated as a “bubblegum smell”. But the point is: what flavor? So, I found myself thinking that simplifying is not always the best way to describe a fragrance. Sometimes, a broader vocabulary about perfumery is needed, and yet it can be difficult to explain the sensations that arise with evolution. In the case of Orient Express, the fruity start moves towards a sweety floral, more feminine, and creamy body. And the vanilla, which is in the base of the olfactory pyramid, emerges with much anticipation, overlapping the other notes. On my skin, both patchouli and cedar did not appear until the next day, when I no longer expected to smell the fragrance that lingers for a long time. Again, I find myself trying to describe the fragrance of Orient Express more clearly and my thoughts are blurred. So, after a lot of thinking, I guess I found a way: think of a lychee-flavored frozen yogurt, which will be topped with berries and vanilla syrup. Now, try to imagine its taste and how your taste buds interpret it. I think it is the closest you can imagine about this composition. In the end, this Orient Express reveals more about the journey and its delicacies than about the landscapes of the outside.

YASSS these are finally on fragrantica!! This one smells like straight up pink liquid amoxicillin. That’s really all I can say. I was very excited for it but then it just kinda :/

No nose, very bad quality, and all the perfume in the same year (2019) : brand of dupes 100%. Its not nose but "no one knows" lol
