A hidden gem that deserves far more attention. This is a fantastic fragrance and a true unisex. On my skin it actually leans slightly feminine, but I can easily imagine it smelling amazing on a man as well. The opening is absolutely gorgeous: boozy whiskey, clove, and—despite not being listed—I clearly get cinnamon. If you love the warm, intoxicating vibe of Angel’s Share, you’ll probably enjoy this, but this is less sweet, less syrupy, and far less predictable. It follows a similar direction without feeling like a clone. There’s something in the base that becomes slightly soapy on my skin, perhaps the rose and oud accord, although I normally dislike that combination and barely detect it here. Thankfully, it never turns into the typical rose-oud cliché. What I love most is how wearable it is. Although it’s presented as a fragrance for formal occasions, gala events, or exclusive cocktail bars, I’d happily wear it day or night. It has presence without overwhelming everyone around you. The bergamot adds a fresh twist that keeps the familiar boozy-spicy theme from feeling repetitive. Considering how many whiskey-and-cinnamon fragrances already exist, it’s refreshing to find one that feels original instead of trying to be another Angel’s Share. I discovered it by accident at a fragrance exhibition while going through my samples, and it completely surprised me. This brand deserves much more recognition. The perfumer behind it also created fragrances for S.T. Dupont in the ‘90s, and it definitely shows—this is the work of someone who knows exactly what they’re doing. Highly recommended if you love warm, spicy, boozy fragrances with elegance and originality.
