Iris Perle

Iris Perle is a great name for this perfume. It has a very pearlescent quality to it: soft yet brilliantly white with almost imperceptible hues of cream and silver, perfectly symmetrically round, a metallic sheen to it in the right light, and elegant in a way not many can pull off. Carefully read that last description. Not many can, or will want, to pull off this perfume. That is mainly because they don’t like real orris. Makeup, baby wipes, lipstick, starchy and potato like, overtly powdery, soapy, etc. - and many other descriptors of a negative bent. Sorry, but that’s what real orris smells like. I, for one, adore it. Maybe I haven’t had the negative associations in my past that others have had with cosmetics featuring this accord. Were a lot of you forced to wear makeup, hit across your person with packages of baby wipes, had soap shoved in your mouths when you were foul, or forced to eat bland potatoes, as children? I don’t understand. Anyway.... The biggest thing to note with Iris Perle is that the orris absolute stretches from top to bottom, beginning to end, of the perfume. Other notes you might detect play around at different stages filling in some of the gaps and giving minute attention to details: Les Indemodables’ modus operandi, although a bit different with Iris Perle. The opening has sage and jasmine accords to it, which present the orris as almost throat-scratchingly dry and giving it a metallic sheen. The jasmine is completely indolic, its musky mothball quality in full force, while sage gives a green and herbaceous lean emphasizing the earthy and rooty (i.e. potatoey) nature of orris. Meanwhile, playing around in an aloof manner below the surface is something sweet: the sugary banana accord of ylang-ylang that makes itself more apparent after the jasmine and sage dispense. This seems to be where Iris Perle loses people, as this creamy and tropical sweetness plus the starchiness of orris comes across as what you’d find in a lot of cosmetics. I think it’s beautiful, and it puts pictures in my mind’s eye of the microscopically subtle swirls of cream and silver colors you can sometimes find in the pearl’s polished white facade. Finally, and rather quickly, mimosa makes an entrance and carries on the brief from the banana-pushing ylang-ylang. Yellow and honeyed floral, slightly woody, brimming with pollen, the mimosa combines with orris to make sure you know the orris came from the iris flower. It’s gentle, caressing, and beautiful, and it makes sure you understand there is a simple beauty but a timeless elegance to the iris flower. The last thing you’ll smell is a skin scent of that gorgeous orris absolute, completing the journey and taking you home. When Iris Perle at last takes me there, I cannot stop smelling my arms and wrists for one more hit of its heartbreaking beauty. In terms of olfactory complexity, and how much detail Les Indemodables’ exquisite materials provide, there isn’t as much to say about Iris Perle compared to many of their other compositions. But, this is not a detraction or a negative, if anything it reinforces the message of simple beauty and elegance with no frills or unnecessary words said. It’s one of the few LI perfumes that provides space for the accords to move, breathe, and speak for themselves. Most LI perfumes are a single paragraph, extraordinarily well written they are, but Iris Perle includes a couple paragraph breaks to let some space and gaps exist between thoughts - which is a metaphor likely understandable for only the few of you taught to properly write as evidenced by nearly all of the reviews I see on this site. If you love iris/orris, in its naturalistic and simplistic elegance and beauty, you will love Iris Perle. If not, you might find it mundane and cosmetic. I personally think it’s one of the best iris perfumes I’ve ever smelled, right up there with Apres L’Ondee, Iris Poudre, Dior Homme (the original release, mind you), and Iris Silver Mist. Stunning.

Damn!!! I don’t know man! I’m starting to like this more and more but its and uphill battle for Iris Perle. I’m really enjoying this now in the warmer weather rather than when I first smelled it in the winter when most of its fragrant facets were muted by the cold. I recently acquired vintage Moustache eau de toilette Concentree which is gorgeous and this is giving me a similar candle-like waxy animalic honey and bitter lemonade feel. This almost feels like Chypre Azural’s sister while Chypre Azural is an aromatic bright green orange, Iris Perle is a powdery and soily, bright yellow lemon. Ice cubes, brisk and chilling, and crystalized sweet lemon powder being mixed into cold water is what I smell. Just heavenly... Wait, wait, calm down... I might see a bottle of this in the near future but I think I need some more testing on this. This is a really fantastic blend that doesn’t even smell floral to my nose. If I was smelling this blindly I would think it was a citrus dominant perfume. The only thing that suggests a floral nuance to me is the powdery almost resembling dry dirt or soil contributed by earthy orris with a bitter herbal nature from clary sage giving the scent a good amount of lift and projection. I think the sweet banana like qualities of the ylang-ylang lifted by a minty jasmine and the spicy, and a somewhat zesty, metallic, clary sage are blended together at the perfect threshold to reach a photorealistic lemon rind or lemon zest accord here. The smell of refreshing lemonade. Or the smell of if you were walking past a stand of lemons sold in Turkey stacked like a pyramid or in baskets as they would be in Mexico or Portugal. What magnificent techniques in blending with this brand. I am floored. So my story with Iris Perle... I did a test of Iris Perle, Fougere Emeraude and Musc Des Sables on my arms in the winter when I received my sample set. Massive massive mistake which gave me a coughing fit and a slight headache - my head felt as if I had been spinning on an office chair. I felt disgusted by all three. And I vividly remember Iris Perle being in the back of my throat somehow. But I went back to try them all separately later. My love for Fougere Emeraude grew the fastest and it made quick amends with me. But the jury was still out on Musc Des Sables and Iris Perle although I was favoring Musc Des Sables to be the one I approved. Now upon writing this review I think I have made the decision that Iris Perle is the one to win my heart with that beautiful fruity, herbal and floral feel with a bit of dry dirt and powder from the orris and mimosa. A great signature scent, but just not exciting to wear or experience in the winter or colder climates I suppose. In my opinion the heat of spring and summer allow Iris Perle to liven up and reach its fragrant potential. 🍋🍃🧊 10/10 Depending on the season I suppose - but stunning no less.

Iris Perle opens with a blast of citruses; it's almost astringent because it's so sharp, almost abrasive. I hate to say this, but the opening does remind me a little of laundry detergent. It's sprightly and clean, but it's also not what you'd expect from a seemingly iris-forward fragrance. As the scent develops, however, the iris becomes more and more noticeable, as do the mimosa and jasmine, which gently support the sprightly note and give it a sensuous aura. As many reviewers have noted before me, the iris never takes on a center stage or acquires a lipsticky effect--far from it. This is a very polite, soft, well-composed fragrance. It has a retro--but not vintage--character that will remind you of a classic perfume from the 1920s, like a Chanel No. 5 (They're in fact quite similar). Iris enthusiasts may be dismayed by how shy the iris here is, but I personally find this fragrance exceptionally comforting and elegant, and far superior to Musc des Sables, another fragrance in the collection that boasts of a higher dose of iris.

I already know that I’m not going to be able to fully describe this perfume, it’s complex composition and scent progression. So I’m not going to talk about the notes. Instead I will focus on how it makes me feel. It’s very beautiful, intriguing but it’s also a weird scent. I do admire this very strange juice; a scent that once you smell it, stays with you. There’s a vintage aspect to Iris Perle—leaning decidedly feminine—and one that takes me out of the present, moving me into Victorian, or even earlier times. Heavy curtains are blocking out the sunlight even though the air is still and warm. Iris Perle, a Victorian scent that’s used to camouflage natural body odor. Everything from Les Indemodables is memorable and absolutely the definition of niche. I love that this magical potion exists, even if I wear but only once or twice in my lifetime.

Very pretty floral iris. If this were half the price I would get it as an every day perfume. Gentle sillage, 6 hours longevity. Update: the quality of Les Indemodables is amazing. I keep coming back to Iris Perle in particular. It is just so beautiful, sophisticated, and happy. It is nice to have a perfume that is always appropriate to wear, in any weather or occasion. I may need to get a few full bottles from this line and this will be one. Compared to other iris-heavy perfumes that I like: Shem-el-Nessim is distinctly more vintage and complex with a L'Heure Bleue herbal/heliotropin vibe and hint of animalic undercurrent. No. 19 Poudre is synthetic, linear, and has a galbanum/nailpolish remover hiss. Angelique is less sweet, more complex and unisex. Angel Dust is overt and has an undercurrent of skank under that sweet powder.

Antoine Lie is renowned for a certain style to my nose at least, and I'd describe it as, creamy weirdness. However, this isn't creamy or weird it's yet more exemplary perfume from now undoubtedly, one of the best niche houses around at the moment, everything is a joy and Iris Perle is no exception. This is much more of the iris than it is orris, in that it captures the floral aspects primarily but has that fleshy, cosmetic orris, but arriving slightly later on. The opening reminded me of hyacinth or wet floral smell and greeness you get from jonquilles absolu or Narcissus but with that twist of mild violets, giving the iris flower illusion. It is simply stunning. Really good balance between powdery orris and bright floral, zing! Opens out to a subtly beautiful, lightly leathered orris. I love it.

To me this smells like something vegetal, almost like a bush in flower that you may come across in the countryside while trekking. You stop by it and smell it and get sharp green from the leaves and sweet from the yellow flowers. It is bright and tart and the whole effect is invigorating. First impression is, like the other one I love most from the brand (Cuir de Chine) quite natural smelling and nice ingredients. Looking at the notes it contains clary sage and the brand seem to really make a point of using some locally sourced herbs as ingredients. In Oriental Velours the picea/conifer also comes across a lot and I think that the sage is quite central in this perfume. I like they are transparent with natural component percentages.

Oh my. This is the Iris I've been searching for! I had been interested in Vanille Havane and Les Indemodables. Little did I know this gem would steal the show. The opening is as you would expect of a quality Iris scent. It has some green but not too much to take away from the light powdery floral. It settles in nicely and the iris stays with you and the softness and beauty of white florals take over. The dry down is pure heaven. The delicious beauty of a classic Iris dry down that is usually gone in minutes actually lasts with this one. That is what is so impressive, it has the pretty makeup/lipstick notes but so much more and does not disappear as soon as it has made itself known Gorgeous.

Giving it a full wear as a part of discovery set I bought. After gym, warm shower, before bed. Opens up kinda green almost buttery orris, after a while it slowly turns creamy & comforting, this is the iris that’s playing borderline green almost vegetal, but not really, I suspect the creamyness comes from the ylang-ylang because it can come as creamy almost suntan lotion-like. But the mimosa is strong with this one, blanketed with the iris. Warm, creamy, powdery & comforting. I suspect this will not last long.

A clean,gentle perfume. I feel a special atmosphere when I spray this perfume, something magical is in the air and puts a smile on me. The ylang is very strong and the mimosa gives "dust" to the scent, the sage is well balanced. I think it can be unisex even if a little more on the feminine side, i like it a lot overall. Les Indemodables Iris Perle (2017) - spring - @antoinelieolfactiveexperience ‘s creation might be one of my favorite Iris perfume. Iris with its wonderful facets: Powdery, Rooty, Floral, Baked bread-like, Mushroomy. Supported by spring time florals to lighten the accord: Mimosa, Ylang and Jasmine. On top of that - a technical marvel with accords refined and balanced. Masterpiece.

Iris Perle has a strong waxy texture to its scent profile. It could easily be the next Les Exclusif release, having so many facets that remind me of beauties like Bel Respiro, Misia, and Rue Cambon.

This is very different what I was expecting and actually it's better in that way. What I was expecting has been done so many times. Iris Perle is very fresh and green. It reminds me of my childhood when I used to walk barefoot on the grass on a dewy morning and the air was full of aromas from natural flowers. Violet leaf makes it a little bit soapy like but it's only a little whiff here and there. Mimosa never achieves its characteristic powderyness and Ylang-Ylang doesn't offer that utterly creamy texture which is familiar. Both of them will of course soften over time towards the drydown and some rough edges of the notes are gone. The overall scent is aromatic, a little bit herbal and it comes from Clary Sage. If you love Dusita's perfumes you are familiar with that note. On my skin Jasmine stays in the background as a supportive note. If thinking the name which means Iris Pearl it all make sense. The scent is clear and bright, like a dewdrop on an precious iris petal. If you understand and appreciate natural perfumes this is your thing. If not, I think you should't even think about this one. The performance is like in artisanal products which means that the projection is from weak to moderate and the longevity is great but the scent is is subtle, smooth, almost a skin scent the most of the time. The scent is rated in based off the quality which is great. Green, aromatic scent s are not so "me" so it would be wrong to rate the in based of my personal taste. In the initial spray, one might mistake it for the more commonly encountered ginger flower. It starts with a slightly floral and bitter undertone, reminiscent of the roots of wild ginger. The unique earthy floral scent, coupled with the slightly acidic aroma of jasmine, creates a distinctive olfactory experience. 💐 As the fragrance develops into the middle and base notes, it gradually becomes more intimate with the skin. The light and airy iris fragrance gently emanates, spreading delicately and cleanly. The overall presentation is akin to watching a documentary film about flowers, with the camera tilting from bottom to top, capturing the transition from soil to petals, creating a visual journey through a blooming garden. Jasmine surfaces at the right moment, gentle like the early spring weather. Against this backdrop, the overlay of ylang-ylang adds a touch of sweetness and intriguing notes. There is a subtle vintage and cool powdery texture, reminiscent of the scent of old-fashioned powder foundation rather than soap. 💐 The overall layers are delicate and refined, exuding a soft and elegant charm. Quite lovely but hard for me to describe. The opening is greener, fresher, slightly herbal and medicinal, even. The mid smells like orris and mimosa to me, shifting back and forth. The mimosa lends a dusty pollen with the orris being dough-y and faintly leathery, reminding me of Prada's Infusion d'Iris at times. I get a bitter and chalky edge to this perfume. It's quiet and ethereal. I can see the resemblance also to Masque L'Atessa which also has the yeasty quality, but the Masque smells more like the familiar cosmetic powder iris category. I think this perfume is more genderless. Edit: Actually, Antoine Lie also did Cire Trudon Bruma, another herbal iris/orris and I can see some crossover with that as well.

Champs Elysées in the earth cellar. Iris Perle starts off with a juicy green mandarin orange and a delicious baby carrot. In the drydown the florals come out; iris yes, but mainly mimosa. I have a problem with that floral, but here it is beautiful like a fancy cream or a Guerlain fragrance (again the Guerlain reference with this house!). There is something earthy in the fragrance as well preventing the whole thing from floating up to the angels. Very beautiful fragrance but the pricing is up there. Maybe not the best lasting power but tacks on well to textiles. Add. I have a full bottle now but unfortunately the green mandarine note is too dominating, I will let it sit and see if it calms down.

Soft yellow florals grounded in a clean iris and airy violet. Light and fresh, slightly pollinic and powdery, not much soapy but maybe a little waxy. I would've expected more of a purple floral slant, but it's more like the texture of the purples with the flavor of the yellows. Moderately soft projection for ~90min, longevity 5-6hr.

I get yellow floral from the beginning and it develops into more of a soap bar scent with waxy texture as if you grate the soap. I tried to associate this perfume to pearl characteristics but barely get it. Yes it feels bright and shimmering like a pearl but I'm expecting the texture to be more clean than creamy.

Powdery with a hint of pollen pungency, smells natural and a little vintage. More fragrant than usual iris perfumes - more yellow flowers/ mimosa than actual iris. As well as other Les Indemodables, it's inoffensive as it stays close to the skin. Leaning maybe a bit more feminine. Nice.

#722 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I am a huge fan of Les Indemodables. This one leans a little too floral and feminine for me, but I would love to smell this on a woman.

First time ive experienced an iris perfume with such an indolic vibe... struggling to understand but respect to the naturals i guess

Iris Perle is a pleasant scent which revolves around the clean, soapy facets of spring flowers and crisp air. It’s quite a simplistic scent, but the quality is there and if you’re looking for something gentle and delicate then it’s worth checking out. The orris here is soft, fuzzy and made gently creamy through the inclusion of ylang. It’s then the jasmine which gives it that soapy airiness, whilst the mimosa lends just a touch of sweetness. Whilst it is quite dry, it never ventures towards earthy or powdery, instead remaining politely clean and centred. As I said, it’s pleasant. It smells sophisticated and calming, but does not suggest much depth or character. I would find it fitting for a lazy spring Sunday when I don’t feel like wearing a fragrance, but that feeling hardly ever comes my way.

The opening was magnificent I had high hopes for it After the first hour it started playing peekaboo with me and I wasn’t happy with it In the third hour it became less than a skin scent to the verge of nonexistent I enjoyed it while it lasted but to have to reapply after an hour is a disaster Maybe the fabric I was wearing wasn’t the ideal one for the scent Either way the opening is not enough for me If I can’t enjoy it at least for half a day it’s a waste of money Yet again another disappointment from the brand I can’t believe I was so obsessed with trying this house but the truth proved not everything hyped is worth it

Grainy. That is what I think when this potion reaches my nostrils. Grainy, earth sodden orris roots with mimosa giving it the high pitched, borderline saccharine feel with touches of lemon from the floral. Do not read 'Iris' in the name and assume purple in hue and velvety petals of the flower to cue, oh no. Think sweet, grainy, powdery, feminine. Not for me. And not the most interesting from Les Indemodables.

Start lemonade with violet leaves, carrot dessert and free-range jasmine. It softens with iris, ylang and mimosa. Elegant, fresh, clean, bright, with a clear trail of sea breeze. Although with different notes it immediately reminded me of Misk Begum from Tola. In a more floral, less musky and ultimately more compelling version with a floating and more feminine trail. Romantic, melancholy and..eternal!

This is a pleasant but subdued iris and mimosa scent. It reminds me of a European summer, in that the floral scents are muted, not riotous. The top notes of this are strong but fade quickly. The base accord is very earthy and yeasty in comparison, which I like. Overall I'd give this a 5.5/10. It's nice enough, but not particularly memorable or long lasting.

Very light but lovely. Feminine. To my nose and on my skin, a pure floral. Minimal projection. Hard to find after 3 hours. I love this house, but one that’s not for me.

Maybe I'm the outlier here but I get way more mimosa in this fragrance than iris, maybe I'll just start calling it mimosa perle?

Iris Perle is a fresh and green iris scent with mimosa. It smells aromatic, bright, and happy.

I am glad I bought a sample of this first! This is not for me. It has a smell of cat scatological, not strong, but still very much like cat urine. Very disappointed. I also bought a sample of Ex Nihilo Iris Porcelana at the same time....that is definitely iris; a very good strong, iris, whereas this Iris Perle is not iris at all; probably the mimosa swamps it out. I really couldn't smell the orris which I wish I could; I like orris very much especially when mixed with violet.

This one gives me a headache, unfortunately. But even if it hadn't, it still wouldn't be for me. I got it as part of a monthly sample set, so it's no surprise that you sometimes receive ones that aren't really your style. That said, there's nothing totally terrible about this one, just that it smells quite straightforward and not very challenging or developed. And the headache is what pushed me from OK to dislike.

Iris Peerle is a floral fragrance created by Antoine Lie. The first time I sprayed it on paper, I almost dismissed it, but then I decided to spray it on skin and I was literally blown away. This is everything I want in a floral fragrance and even more. Also, what a shapeshifter this fragrance is. It opens with a juicy citrus note that smells like mandarin and bergamot combo to my nose, with noticeable clary sage adding a green slightly bitter black tea like aroma and hints of violet leaves adding a green leafy note, the opening resembles a modern chypre. In the next few minutes, the fragrance shifts from the bitter green clary sage to the green dusty slightly powdery mimosa while the citrus accord fades away. The fragrance from this point becomes a floral primarily. Shortly afterwards, the jasmine shows with a pronounced indolic facet that reminds me of Indian Jasmine. Along with it, there is the ylang-ylang but it doesn’t smell sweet or banana-ish here , it leans more towards the rich jasmine-like side. At this point I asked myself, where is the iris! But they saved the best for last I guess because the drydown features one of the best orris notes I have smelled lately, the quality of it is spectacular, It has a floral slightly powdery texture with mild sweetness and doughy bread like nuances.I believe that this fragrance is quite complex because it took me some time to detect all these notes, it shifts from a citrus aromatic opening to a green floral then a white/yellow floral heart and finally a purple floral drydown

This is stunning! The quality of the materials and the artistry of the composition are on another level. Gather the highest quality naturals you can find and turn a brilliant perfumer like Antoine Lie loose with them with seemingly no cap on formula cost and you’re bound to get something beautiful. Why don’t more niche firms do this? Ugh! This is so gorgeous, it’s making my other fragrances seem shabby by comparison. I know I’ll get past it, but for now, I only want to wear this line and I’m trying hard to let them rest a few weeks after being shipped. So, Iris Perle. I managed to break this sample on my kitchen floor and though I was able to salvage most of it, probably half a ml wound up under my stove. So for a few days my house and I were both wearing it and it smells quite different on us both. On me it opens with this incredibly rich, rooty orris brightened and cheered with some ylang and mimosa. Pretty quickly it morphs into a beautiful, cheerful mimosa/orris make up scent. It’s nice if you enjoy really classic lipstick type fragrances and I love the way the ylang gives everything a cheerful vibe. Honestly though, my house wears it better. It keeps that cool, earthy orris vibe for days and is for sure the best straight up iris fragrance I have ever smelled and I have tried them all. Probably the closest is l’Attesa but this is slightly more cheerful and opulent. All of which is to say, if you prefer mimosa, wear it on skin. If you want to emphasize the orris, wear it on fabric (or tile).

Instantly Chanel vibes. This at least the level of Les Exclusifs La Pausa it’s well executed and materials are obviously top notch. Such a pleasure to wear this. Stunning fragrance. Shocking price. Especially relative to Les Exclusifs. Locally you could get a 200ml La Pausa below €300. While even discounted this is at €170 for a 50ml. I think Les Indemodables would benefit greatly from 200ml offerings just because it’s one size and one value proposition. Secondly, quite a few in the line would be popular signatures so a 200ml actually makes it possible however having only a 50ml option and constantly replenishing is both an environmental waste due to shipping, a new bottle and packaging every time and the lack of refillable options. I must emphasize if ur an occasional user the sample set makes sense maybe get two.

This went through several changes on my skin before settling into a beautiful iris-floral. Sharp astringent/alcohol blast for the first minute, then doll's head (not a fan of that smell) for ten minutes or so. Then very slowwly, iris peaks through and at first you think it is going to be subtle. But this iris note is tied to the front of a freight train that is barreling toward you at high speed! And god help you if you sprayed too much because it is going to be an iris massacre for the next 30 minutes. Once the carnage is over, a peace settles over the land and a floral garden quickly covers over all the bodies left in the wake of the train. Anyone passing by would never suspect there was chaos just 30 minutes ago. Nothing is left but a beautiful quiet iris with whispers of honeysuckle floating around it.

In this floral fragrance, the earthy and depth character of the flowers (essential oils) were not removed. So the fragrance has depth. In particular, Ylang Ylang essential oil has a medicinal facet, which makes it very difficult to work with. Creating a good fragrance with real ylang-ylang is a difficult job and requires high kills, but Antoine Li did a good job on this. Besides that, the orris root was used beautifully here and is the main character of the fragrance. It's slightly animalic because of Jasmin, which I like but not detectable easily. This is not a type of fragrance I wear, but I like the quality and skills in this fragrance. 7.5/10

Well, at last, a brand that delivers what all the faux luxe and designer fragrance brands out there promise us, yet always fail to deliver: True luxury, genuine artistic sensibility, impeccable fragrance design, flawless performance, and price tags that make sense! A company founded by a humble woman with a true passion for the art of Perfume, supported by her loving husband who was the buyer of raw materials for Givaudan. Between them and carefully chosen perfumers, they have created a beautiful, magical world that stands out in a universe of mediocrity, stench, fakeness, lack of honesty, and filled with non-sense. Bravo!

Gosh, I really like this one. It's difficult to describe. It's fairly linear and very well blended, but overall it just makes me feel *blushes* so pretty. I'd describe Iris Perle as being kind of like a Barry White song - it's romantic, soft, ivory-hued but with a confident, deep, and strong "voice." The two main players are Mimosa and Iris/Orris. The ylang-ylang is a wonderful accompaniment. It's obviously very powdery, but almost greasy-powdery, like pollen. I detect some mandarin orange as well. It would be such a beautiful signature scent. Boy, is it expensive though. 4/5

Very clean and soapy, it straight up smells like a soap to my nose. But it is not a very young soap, I don’t want to say the G word but you understand what I mean. I don’t really have a problem with getting the nostalgy of an elder’s soap that would sit there during your vacation at your family’s place. The problem is that it doesn’t smell like my grandma’s soap, but the one from another grandma. If its your grandma, you should test it out for memories ❤️

If they'd reduce the ylang-ylang and increase the orris, this could well be the best Iris on the market. I can only stand ylang-ylang in heavily aldehydic fragrances (No.5, Arpgège, etc.) In an Iris scent, ylang-ylang ruins the Iris profile for me. But that's just my personal taste. This is a great fragrance, very French, very chic, and definitely signature worthy -as long as you dont mind the intrusion of a tropical yellow flower in an iris setting.

I like this, it's wearable and nearly devoid of sweetness which makes the iris smell like makeup powder and chlorine. Great ingredients do the heavy lifting and there is a nice clean freshness. I wear this maybe once every couple months which is not a lot. Pretty feminine but this still appeals to me as a lover of floral perfumes. Soapy 'white' aldehydes, touches of iris, and plenty of 'yellow' ylang ylang+jasmine. Very strong and great performance.

At first I didn’t get this one but letting the sample sit for a couple months and coming back to it, it is very good. A very subtly earthy iris. When I first smelled it I got more sharpness and something kind of saline, but that has either gone away or my nose was just off. The iris is nice in this one smells like probably natural

Iris + mimosa. Mimosa is very strong, the type of frleur de cassie mimosa, warm and dark, not flowery-fresh. The iris is beautiful too, rooty iris. A mild spice gives some air to the otherwise warm fragrance. sometimes i feel there's some bergamot. I love it. If you like une fleur de cassie you'l like it 9/10.

Not enough iris in this, unforch. I was hoping for a floral-iris/orris, but it was mostly mimosa and jasmine, which didn't work for me. It's a beautiful scent, and my wife even commented on that herself, but it's a little too femme-leaning, for mine. It's beautifully composed, nonetheless...

The first time I tried this, I really didn't like it - it smelt a little scatological to me. I sniffed it again a couple of months later and astoundingly found it very compelling. To me, it smells like the swimming pool in the French countryside - chlorinated, fresh, floral.

It is a very sweet orris root scent that sings on the skin being very long lasting! There is a little bit of lipstick, skin powder and something so feminine...it's like playing with expensive makeup that is scented with sweet fragrance

Iris, soapy violet, bergamot, vetiver, lemon, ambrette and jasmine. Very clean, slightly feminine iris-centered scent. Gets more malty and musky as time goes on but otherwise quite linear. Soft and pleasant!

Very high quality as I’ve come to expect from Les Indemodables, but this is a very sunny yellow floral, which is not really what I’m looking for from an Iris.
