Blanche Bête

i dont like gourmand fragrances; in fact, i detest them. but i do somehow like this. please hear me out. blanche bete doesnt read as a gourmand to most, but it does to me. this is because (at least on my wrist) its heavily sweet and lactonic. but miraculously, i am on all fours. so as the #1 gourmand hater, this fragrance is equally impressive and perplexing. why? i can only guess. there's something unmistakably sinister... and primal and cerebrally invasive about it i cant place, that sets it apart from the more conventional gourmands... sadly, i have no idea what it is. this perfume gives the essence of a proud purring kitten drinking from a bowl of milk upon a pile of slain mouse corpses. this, and the narcotic soul gaze of the imaginary (?) girl whom you became infatuated with after appearing in a strange dream one fevered night. or the triumphant feeling when the sophisticated older woman you successfully bagged calls you her morsel and the pair of you let the psychosexual tension hang in the air to savour it i have been eyeing this one for a while because it is just what i need to embody my impish, lovable, ostensibly innocent supervillain alter ego. better yet, according to some reviews, this lures milfs when worn. perfect... you can bet that ill be getting freudian with this one

i'm a mortician and this is my platonic ideal of a work-appropriate scent. not because it's morbid or morose, but because it embodies a gentle, calming, serene pensiveness, and evokes an empathetic, put-together caring professional. I wouldn't call it melancholy, but it avoids being outright happy or celebratory, making it perfect for serious occasions. it brings to mind a feeling of thoughtful stillness-- like the moment of tense silence when you spot an rarely-seen animal in the wilderness and hold your breath as not to spook it. There is something so comforting about this scent, perhaps because lactones are inherently maternal to our psychology, but also because it has a distinctly cooling sensation- not a mentholic or astringent or medicinal coolness- but airy like a breeze on a hot day. spraying this feels like dusting myself with a cooling powder that's been kept in the fridge, making this distinct from the other vanillic scents in my collection which all have a warm sensation in comparison. copying what i said about a dupe of this here: "to me it's like white flowers that are sooo velvety soft like a puppy's ear, arranged to form the shape of a coconut. it resembles coconut without any fruitiness-- a faux coconut comprised of the softest petals. absolutely stunning."

Blanche Bête is a soft, warm, lactonic floral fragrance. It opens with a very milky, creamy tuberose and delicate white florals that are not indolic at all, accompanied by a distinct presence of incense (without being overly smoky), smooth musk (never screechy), and a subtle sweetness from vanilla and tonka bean. As it develops, the floral character gradually gives way to a sweeter, creamier profile without ever fully entering gourmand territory. Cacao adds a touch of resinous, balsamic nuance, while the tonka bean maintains a fleeting tobacco-like whisper in the background. I can understand why some people perceive plastic or musty facets, although I don’t agree with the comparisons to sour milk. The composition is exceptionally well blended, balanced, and unique; a perfect example of a true niche fragrance. The sillage is moderate, you won’t be announcing your presence the moment you enter a room, but the longevity is excellent. On my skin, it easily lasts well over 10 hours. I’m not going to be original here, but truly, if angels were real, this is what they would smell like.

This fragrance has been heavily hyped online, and the notes sounded exactly like something I would love, so I ordered a sample. Before spraying it, I smelled the atomizer and caught a noticeable ammonia-like scent, which honestly made me a little nervous. However, once it touched my skin, I was met with a soft milky accord, quickly followed by a prominent tuberose. That said, this isn't the fresh, green tuberose of a flower shop bouquet. It reminds me more of a white horse wearing a crown of tuberose blossoms, raised on milk. There's something creamy, animalic, and strangely enchanting about it. I suspect the indolic facets of the jasmine are responsible for that effect. Looking back, the ammonia-like impression I noticed at first was probably coming from the interplay between the jasmine and incense. Since I'm usually not a fan of incense, I was worried at first, but those concerns quickly disappeared. Everything blends together far more beautifully than I expected. I sprayed it on my calves, and every now and then I catch wafts of it drifting upward. There's a rich, mysterious quality to it that keeps drawing me back for another sniff. Beautifully addictive❤️

I really love this perfume. It smells almost like baby formula, but somehow in a good way? Baby formula with smoke and light florals. It's 100% feminine to me, not unisex at all, and very ageless, timeless. It reminds me of a Botticelli cherub. It reminds me of The Rose of Versailles. It is the most expensive- and fancy- and complex-smelling perfume I own. It's such a gorgeous scent, but I can see it being very divisive, so it's a little surprising to me it's the most well-known by its manufacturer! It also has a "magic" kind of scent to it unlike any other thing I've smelled, which I'm guessing is the Mystikal or Mahonial note, as I haven't tried any other fragrances with either of them. I also sense a kind of citrusy note, which isn't listed here. This scent is what the unicorn girl from "The Last Unicorn" would smell like to me. I just get so much imagery of clouds, of fairies and mystical pools of water in the forest, from this! Love love love. On a side note, my cat is obsessed with this scent. Especially when I put it in my hair...

Blanche Bête opens on my skin like sweet coconut milk – even though coconut isn’t officially listed, it’s 100% there to my nose: creamy and slightly sugary for the first 30–45 minutes. Pretty quickly it deepens into a smoky, incense-y, almost chocolatey mix that feels like warm skin, candle smoke and milky dessert all at once. I hardly get any of the big white florals people talk about (no loud tuberose or jasmine bomb here), so on me this wears as a truly unisex scent – maybe slightly feminine-leaning, but absolutely not “girly” or overly floral. It’s more like smoky, chocolatey, coconut milk and soft incense swirling around you. Projection is gentle and intimate, and longevity is moderate – around 3–4 hours of a soft, close aura before it sits right on the skin. Not a beast, but a cosy, sensual, skin-scent/intimate aura that feels perfect for dates and cuddles. I’m a man and I wear this happily; it’s one of the sexiest comfort scents in my collection so far. 🥥🥛🤍🦄🍫🕯️

This is my be-all and end-all fragrance. I got a sample of this eight months ago and finally caved after christmas as I couldn't get it out of my head. I live in a northern climate so hoping it does me well for most of the year as it definitely is more of a cooler weather scent (without being cold or crisp). So beautiful... I totally get the vision of the unicorn as smelling this is like sitting in a beautiful glade straight out of a 1980s fantasy romance film. Makes you want to lay your head in a fair maiden's lap and doze under blooming vines as sunlight cuts through the trees. Dreamy and heady. I don't get crazy milk from this, just a whisper that compliments the white florals and mystikal. Not a safe blind buy due to the price tag but I definitely don't get any baby-vomit or off milk like some reviewers have stated. Get ready to be whisked away!

I want to start by saying I hated this AT FIRST, and I also heavily dislike most lactonic fragrances not because I dislike the concept, but because I feel like they are super synthetic most of the time. The first time I tried this, I got the same feel. And I still get it with the initial spray within the first 10 minutes or so. It’s a plasticky smell that overpowers anything creamy underneath, which I also get with Bianco Latte & its other cursed dupes. However, eventually it turned into gorgeous lactonic coconut shavings, it’s warm and inviting and really all it was hyped up to be. It’s like Rafaello candy without going all the way gourmand - it still maintains a soft, clean-like aspect to it that keeps it from being cloying. It made me believe in second chances.

This is what I imagine heaven must smell like. Like walking on a cloud, but not just clouds. It is the lightest, most airy fluffy vanilla, like whipped cream and sugar gently tickling your feet. Nearby there is a coconut water river, and the riverbanks are covered with cacao shavings. Nothing smells heavy though. It is like you are floating above it all, catching soft little whiffs of everything. Your soul just feels light and unburdened. This is what Blanche Bete smells like to me. Whenever I am in the mood for something thicker and sweeter, I layer it with Bianco Latte and Scandal by JPG, and let me tell you, that is probably the best layering combo I have ever created and smelled. If you love sweet perfumes like I do, you need to give this a try.

Angelic, ethereal, divine -- it's like someone got a pegasus to willingly relinquish its wings to be distilled into a fragrance. It's undeniably milky and sweet but it's enveloped with feathery facets of incense and florals, which complicate and make the fragrance just so addicting to wear and smell. There's something about it that makes it have this non-human quality, which I'm very partial to. I can't stop smelling myself whenever I douse myself in this. Unfortunately for me, it's not as long-lasting and doesn't project as much as I'd like it to. At least it's not really socially acceptable to smell like incense and milk here, so I can save on the juice. Regardless, it's a gorgeous scent presented in an equally gorgeous bottle.

Let my start off my saying first that I own a full bottle of this fragrance that I bought 2 years ago. I have a newer travel size and used it for the first time today. The two scents are nothing alike! The full bottle smells like beautiful, soft, lactonic, musky vanilla with the slightest touch of incense and I can spray it 5+ times and it's not overpowering. It's subtle and more of an intimate scent. The travel size smells like coconut with a very noticeable incense note and is noticeably more potent and the dry down smells like baby puke :( I have no idea why they're so different but I was so taken aback and can see why some people don't like it now! Not sure if it's a different batch or what.

On first spray I get a spiced milky white floral. The incense is light (there's only a touch so it's not so much that it's headache inducing). The tonka, cacao, and ambrette add a spicy quality and the musk is gentle in the background without being screechy at all. It's very elegant and pretty and unique; I've definitely never smelled anything like this is a Nordstrom or Sephora. I wouldn't say this smells like milk. It's more a milky or creamy quality in the white florals rather than a true milk note. On drydown, it's a milky soft sandalwood with just a touch of white floral noticeable. It's gorgeous and cozy. I really don't get much vanilla at all on my skin

My god is this beautiful. I got a little nervous to test this when I saw the notes due to my hatred of perfumes that try to smell like milk but I was pleasantly surprised. It's hard for me to describe how the perfume smells with one-dimensional notes but i've heard someone describe this smelling like an angel and I think thats the best possible description. The aspect of this that really stands out to me is the airy, sweet, musky dry down that really makes you feel like a cloud. Not sure what else to say about this other than it's beautiful and I would 100% recommend testing even if you aren't sure about the notes, truly one of a kind. Overall 9.2/10

My scent soulmate... my signature scent: Liquides Imaginaires Blanche Bête 🤍 I first discovered this scent through its clone, Lattafa Her Confession. From the very first sniff I was completely mesmerized. I kept smelling my wrist over and over again and thought, ‘I need to experience the original.’ So eventually I bought Blanche Bête itself... and honestly it’s one of the most captivating perfumes I’ve ever smelled. The moment it touches my skin, it feels like being transported into another world. It’s soft, creamy, milky, musky, wrapped in delicate jasmine almost like an angel in perfume form. Ethereal, comforting, sensual... and unforgettable.

After wearing my sample 3x I feel it's time for a review. That infamous milk note. Seldomly used in male fragrance,moreso female and unisex so I don't have not sampled many with that note but my last was San Diego by City Rhythm. Very polarizing to me and off putting. In BB it is very light and creates a calming relaxing state at least today. It's been 9 or 10 hours and the floral and creamy notes are still present with a light smokiness only smelled when my nose is pressed to my skin. This is pretty much a love/hate with no in between and i absolutly love it but would no way wear it in public as it's super feminine and pretty.

This is like a reviewer below me said: a masterpiece. It's like a cup of warm milk after a warm shower with a fluffy bathrobe. The floral drydown balances out the milky vanilla and the chemistry works great on my skin for a cozy evening scent. I only need a spray as I can see how it could get sickening if oversprayed. I use this as a base under more fruity perfumes to make it creamier and cozier and it lasts all day. I have been searching for a milk fragrance for years and so many are too sickly, too gourmand, gross drydown. This is like a beautiful milk bath with flowers floating in the bath.. thank you Liquides Imaginaires!

Reading the reviews it feels like people are talking about a different perfume. This is the best take on milky vanilla I've ever come across. It has a powdery quality that would make you think there is almond in the composition. It's most likely the mystikal combining beautifully with the ambrette, giving it an otherwordly vibe that makes it hard to describe. Everything blends together very nicely. I like to imagine it's what clouds smell like. Nothing about it smells "vintage", and it does NOT smell anything like coconut. One of my favorites, absolutely breathtaking, I am probably hooked forever.

Creamy milk , like smelling a baby’s head very soft and airy too Edit : that’s the most long lasting perfume ive ever tried - it literally lasts 16 hours at least on my skin and doesn’t come off when I shower , one time it lasted me about 40 hours when I had body lotion on - don’t put it on clothes if you don’t wanna smell like it for the next few days. I just mask it with other scents when it’s barely there because it’s impossible to scrub off after more than 10 hours when I want to switch my scent already. I do still love it very much ! But it’s ethereal lasting

This perfume was my dream for years and I finally got it!! I collect milky perfumes, and before I got Blanche Bête, I got Taskeen Lactéa Divina, which smells almost identically to it. But Lactea Divina smells like almond milk and Blanche Bête smells like coconut milk which I love more. Smells like a really creamy coconut milk with spices, for me it is an angelic, innocent perfume that u can wear in summer which can't be said about my other lactonic perfumes. I really recommend this one, I think Blanche Bête is one of my fav perfumes ever!! My opinion : 10/10

There is a milk flavor, but unlike other milk fragrance perfumes, it doesn't feel like condensed milk. It's just liquid milk that's not sticky and sweet. The more the trail develops, the more vanilla it smells, milk vanilla, creamy, and fluffy, and it feels like coconut milk, but it is elegant and colorful because it is not greasy or monotonous as it develops into various scents, flowers, or incense used in religious ceremonies. You can feel the trail interestingly. I bought it without trying it, but I'm very satisfied with it. I want everyone to try it.

Man.....if I were to ever get remarried, this would definitely be my wedding day scent. I have A TON of 3.4 fl oz fragrances and this one rivals Alien by how fast I’ve blown through it. I’m about to purchase my second bottle. I purchased a FB after sampling a 2mL decant. When my FB arrived I gave it 1-3 sprays and then I let her cook in a cool, dark place (bedroom closet, not in bathroom) for appx 8-12 months before spraying again. For me, this performs SO well and gets a ton of compliments but due to the cost, it is NOT a safe blind buy.

I love this so much! On my skin it doesn't do anything weird, doesn't smell like vomit or whatever is mentioned in other reviews. It is a milky, slightly smokey floral that throughout the day starts to blend together and gives almost a coconut vibe (the tuberose with the milk and the Vanilla). Again, on my skin, this has extraordinary longevity, I can smell it even the next day. However, it is NOT an easy perfume to wear. In the summer it can definitely be headache inducing so I would wear an inspiration of it that are usually weaker.

Ordered this with a bunch of decants and I find myself returning to this one over and over again. And this is coming from someone who prefers more unisex scents! On my skin I get the creamy lactonic as the standout scent with a likewise creamy vanilla and white floral. My skin typically projects incense notes but it doesn't for this one - all for the better. I keep sniffing my wrists. There's a comfort here that is both modern and nostalgic. I understand why this fragrance is a cult classic!

Wow! Puts smile on your face straightway ! Creamy, milky, musky! It is indeed otherworldly as they say, I would even say a friendly visit from another side! 👻 ( kind ghost not the spooky one lol ) Clean scent with great longevity being it so, well, clean ! Tested it on my skin after shower, went to bed, went to work following day and 7 pm 24 hrs later, I can still smell it on my skin. On my dream/buy list. Amazing for spring and summer with light breeze!

This is who my collection can’t live without! She is extremely sexy and seductive, but also very sweet and innocent. And soooo performative! I happen to love lactonic fragrances, and this one is perfection. But AS MUCH AS I LOVE IT, there are times when I go to smell it, and I gag a bit. I just take it as a sign that she doesn’t want to be worn that day lol, because most of the time when I smell it, my eyes roll to the back of my head. ❤️❤️

My signature scent. Sugared white florals in warm coconut milk, served in your favorite mug with stars. This smells like childlike wonder all grown up. It’s what the Ivory Tower in The Never Ending Story would have smelled like. It’s the breeze a Pegasus’ wings leave behind, the warm tingle of pixie dust on your skin. It has great lasting power/projection but remains delicate. It is power through softness. 10/10 masterpiece of a perfume.

Blanche Bête truly raises the bar for lactonic fragrances. I ordered a sample without expecting to fall so deeply in love with it. Since then, I’ve explored other lactonic scents, but none have matched its flawless balance and beautifully blended notes. It feels soothing and comforting, like a brief escape to somewhere heavenly. Given the quality, the price feels completely justified. I’ll definitely be purchasing another sample soon.

I love this, it is very comforting to me. I do understand why this is polarizing though, I have smelled this on other people and not liked it as much as on myself. I get a lot of creamy tonka bean and not as much of the tuberose and milk. This is one of those fragrances that you do not want to overspray because it is POWERFUL. Unless you like to suffocate your surroundings, in which case you should overspray hahaha.

Im struggling to find the words that will do justice with how this perfume makes me feel. when i first smelled it, all i could think about is how sad i am it wasn't part of my wedding day. Blanche bete is a MASTERPIECE, its complex and ever evolving, warm and fluffy yet sexy and sophisticated. its airy and creamy, sweet but not dense, its how the word luminous smells like. i find it pleasant all year around!

one of if not the most, unique fragrance I've ever smelled. this perfume really captures that creamy laconic-ness perfectly. blended beautifully with incense and musk, this will always be the perfume I will reach for in the colder weather. Oh and it lasts AGES on clothes. literally did 1 spray on my jacket and 2 weeks later, I can still smell it. insane.

Much less sweet than I expected, its creamy and a little woody, very comforting and addicting. I get a little coconut in a similar way there is in vanilla powder (but more toned down here) I'm usually not a huge fan of coconut but in this it adds the perfect amount creamyness and nuttiness wiithout getting cloying

You just got dumped by your significant other. You go to your cool, wealthy older sister’s house to comfort you. She envelopes you in a warm hug and speaks in low, soothing tones. Definitely grew on me over time, when I first smelled it I thought that it was less lactonic than I imagined, a little bit nauseating but I didn’t hate it and I felt that it smelled more mature but now it just smells magical to me it’s a unique scent and is comforting to smell I went from liking it to loving it!

absolute favorite, I’ve never smelled anything as good as this. It’s so lactonic and sweet while the incense adds some depth to it. Truly like a unicorn in a snowy forest. Also lasts more than 13 hours on my skin which is crazy because most perfumes only last 4 hours maximum on me so it’s totally worth it.

This is absolutely beautiful! To me, it smells like milk blended with coconut and almonds. It's clean and carnal at the same time. There is something truly mystical about it, just like the unicorns that inspired this perfume. It has an animalic dry-down,which makes it unique. Definitely a masterpiece!

This was a No for me at first but now I really like it. The fragrance is milky, sweet and lactonic. It opens with an ambrette musk mellow and creamy milk note. I almost pick up a licorice note, but it is not listed. It is sweet, milky and gourmand. It almost smells like warm milk or an almond pastry.

Macerated, this is a delicious fluffy-meets-powdery sweet smell. It’s what I assumed Delina, Angel Haze and Powder Love would be if they weren’t awful. It’s so dreamy and lush, a refined way to do a hyper-girlie perfume. So good for first dates, Valentine’s Day, christenings, confirmations.

One of my absolute favorite fragrances I’ve ever smelled. I find deep genuine joy when I wear this fragrance. Very comforting, angelic, sweet, creamy and overall pure happiness in liquid form. I’m glad my nose loved this from first sniff. I’d be sad if this were to ever be discontinued.

Ahhh lovely. The perfect lactonic note - luminous and bright like the one I like Musc Outreblanc for. This neeeerly veers into sunscreen territory but the milk rounds it out and the ambrette makes it fluffy to me. Chantilly cream, not cloying not heavy. My perfume budget be damned

i could write an essay on this scent. the MOST ethereal, otherworldly, and unique fragrance i have ever used. it smells like nothing i have ever tried in my life. buy this if you want to smell like a glowing celestial moon fairy who just got back from a trip to see the stars.

i bought a collection of samples and this was my favorite, i instantly fell in love. milky and lactonic, subtly sweet balanced out by gentle florals. i did not expect to enjoy this as much as i did and even my family members thought it smelled so nice

Pretty much exactly what you’d want out of lactonic white florals. Very feminine and comforting, but still interesting and different. It’s so cozy that I pretty much only wear it at home, outside feels too harsh for such a soft and gentle scent.

this is what an angel's wings smell like. i definitely get the incense, and i love it! such an interesting, not-too-sweet vanilla, and the lactonic note doesn't lean toward sweat at all for me, because everything stays quite cold and mysterious.

This grew on me the more I used my sample. I had to have a full bottle once the sample was finished. It's such a clean, creamy and cozy scent. I originally thought the tuberose was too prominent but changed my mind. It really is a magical scent.

Wow! I was not prepared for how much of crowd pleaser this one was, two people have stopped me and insisted I tell them what fragrance I was wearing. I'm not normally a fan of powdery scents but this one is I have to admit pleasing.

My holy grail, this perfume just feels and smells like heaven. It’s really delicate, soft, not too sweet, people can sense this fragrance on you and this one has really good sillage. Really luv milky notes in perfumes.
