Fleur De Sable

This is a scent that sits up around you and reveals parts of itself. Fantastic if there is warmth and a breeze. My brother at Xmas decided that this was the best of the bunch of scents I bought with me on my visit. He said he would wear it and he’s squeamish about unisex fragrances. It has this gorgeous salty/saline edge that as the fragrance wears, deepens and almost caramelises... hard to describe. Intriguing. First hits are this distant saltiness like a seaspray carried over warm ground so it hits you with warmth and lightness. Fruity but not cloying or sweet. It must be the rose/orange that I get mixed with the pepper and paprika that give an interesting pepperiness and bite - piquancy? That feels again, caramelised - it’s very transparent and feels light but floats around you. The light powderiness comes in later, never too much - I don’t get a recognisable rose scent but one that merges with fruit to give this lightness and clarity. With a fresh sweetness. Really beautiful. And yes my brother wore it and enjoyed it. Lasts incredibly well 7+ hours in 28C+ temps ❤️

Fleur de Sable is an unique rose forward fragrance. The composition is centred around (a new to me type of) rose, Eglantine rose, which I have to admit after testing this scent that smells really beautiful. I find it mesmerising to be honest. The myrrh, paprika, pink pepper and orris root that surrounds the rose give the juice so much warmth, creaminess, smoothness and a bit of spiciness. The rose is a lighter one, airier, moderately sweet, slightly gourmand. I have a variety of rose focused perfumes in my collection but Fleur de Sable is different. Stands out in a beautiful way. Better suited for spring and summer weather because it wears on the lighter side. Moderate to long lasting but weaker sillage. One of those gorgeous, feminine, pretty perfumes that nobody talks about. If you’re looking for a new rose fragrance for the next sunny seasons, try getting a decant or a sample. It truly deserves one’s attention and time. Packaging and presentation is five stars. Unique bottle design and high quality materials used.

i'm not particularly a fan of rose-forward perfume, as they are often too boring, too simple, too disappointing. i do enjoy the ones with a different approach to rose, such as the dry and bitter types, the thorny and stemmy ones, or the or the fresh and dewy types. this one surely belongs to the third category. there is no soapiness or aldehydes, which are often the bane of rose perfumes - this one is smooth and tranquil. to me it smells just like a whole bush of the rugosa rose that grows everywhere in those early summer days, filling the air with their opulent, intoxicating aroma. there is enough mandarin and spice to make this scent vibrant and give it that extra nuance of a jammy, lightly sweet, slightly tart rose that can be enjoyed in a donut, on your cheesecake, in your lemonade. that being said, this fragrance is linear and predictable, but it stays on for ages!

A great example of how pepper could be gracefully blended into the creation, being a bit edgy but not overpowering the whole thing. To me this is a greener and less sweet sister of Rose 01 by Swiss Arabian, which also has a Delina vibe. Rose 01 is a dark pink, opulent princess, staying in her castle and indulging herself in food and entertainment. Fleur de Sable is her wild, edgy sibling, running from the castle for bareback horse riding and sitting in the grass to watch sunset before coming back home. I don't get too much of the sand impression - maybe just the overall warmness added to the scent. I thought FB is redundant in my collection if I already have Rose 01 and some other rose fragrances, but I totally changed my mind after a few days of testing it.

Just received. It is beautiful absolutely lovely. The first hit I get is orange and paprika unusual and beautiful. Followed up by the peppers dries down to a lovely Orris I’m getting the sweet briar ( Eglantine Rose ) throughout. For those of you not smelling “ROSE” This type of rose is very fruity smelling. It’s very subtle but I’m smelling it while I’m smelling the orange. It is said to smell a little like apples but not exactly so that thing you’re smelling with the orange and you’re not quite sure what it is. That’s the Eglantine Rose. This is beautifully beautifully blended. It is my first LL fragrance and it’s a stunner. Unfortunately, for now, I think I have to bathe in it for others to smell it. I will update.

For any guys looking to buy this perfume, don't pay attention to what others might say, I'm a guy and I thoroughly enjoy it, it has become my daily and I've gotten many compliments over it, do not be discouraged to wear it because of the votes leaning towards it being a woman's perfume. Fleur de Sable is a fantastic fragrance with its iconic pink pepper opening up only to be finished by its amazing rose smell, I personally love rose-oriented perfumes and this is one of my favorites. The fragrance also lasts for a relatively long amount of time and I've found it sticks almost permanently to hoodies or sweaters, which I love. I am definitely biased towards it, but, I give it what I think is a fair rating of 9.5/10

Nov 2023 edit: I got a full bottle. It’s grown on me so much and now I think it’s beautiful. In my head I know I should be smelling rose but on my skin it’s has this beautiful sand-like quality that’s like half dusty and half red bean mochi dessert goodness that’s slightly sweet. I’m really glad I didn’t blind buy this. It’s definitely not what I expected from the reviews below but I don’t think that’s a bad thing necessarily. I get mostly a powdery dusty incense aroma that’s a little bit sweet. It reminds me of the dark yellow incense that Chinese people use to honor and remember ancestors mixed with a red bean mochi snack. Again, not bad and I think it’s growing on me

Lovely floral that isn't too sweet. Absolutely unisex, and a very nice, gentle rose balanced by the Mandarin in the background. The spices are there, but they're not prominent, again just rounding out the scent. The rose is definitely the main player, but isn't excessive (cough, Montale, cough). It's just a nice, gentle rose. I do wish it were a little stronger, on me it's approaching a skin scent, with moderate longevity. It's the first time I've smelled Eglantine rose, and I love it. 7/10, though depending on the day may be an 8. Liquides Imaginaires do have some wonderful fragrances, and this is one of them.

Spicy sandy rose, I love how perfumers were able to create a perfume that smells so much like sand. The first spray from a decant made me fall in love and buy a bottle that very same day. It is Unique and magical, nothing smells like this in my collection but i will say if you like Dom rosa you'll adore this too....I smell a citrusy spicy rose, sand, and myrrh (slightly incensy). Very well blended, nothing is screechy, nothing smells outdated and overdone, it is a 10/10 fragrance. All season and day or night friendly too P.s - Nuit De Sable by BDK doesn't hold a candle to this one.

If there is one fragrance to smell / sample from Les Liquides Imaginaires, this is it. This is a delicate spicy vegetal scent that works extremely well as a dumb reach when you want a little sophistication. The paprika keeps things interesting and I strongly suggest multiple wearings to properly appreciate this blend. Spring and Autumn/Fall are the ideal seasons but it can work year round. I would easily put this in a top 10 Spring list. This leans ever so slightly feminine on the unisex scale but anyone could rock this. I've had really good reactions from males and females.

Nobody really talks about this one but it's on my top 3 favorite spring-summer scent. Not girly, not juvenile, not fruity, not loud, just... A very unique, pretty, delicate, dry, spicy and airy rose. I do love rose as a note (think Damask, Hibiscus Mahajad, Dom Rosa, Atomic Rose, Delina, etc...) and nothing smells like this one. If you enjoy this scent profile as well, I strongly recommend you get your nose on Fleur de Sable. (Bonus: few people wear it and it's on the more affordable side!)

the opening can be polarizing...I smell pepper a lot and then something that is similar to bell peppers. Not the biggest fan of that. BUT... once it dries down it's great! On my skin it reminds me of rose iced tea with some warm resinous element underneath. Not powdery at all. Sweet in a natural, non sugary way. Soft but intriguing. A good one to smell if you love oriental fragrances but want one that's appropriate for the warmer seasons. Wouldn't recommend blind buying though.

Let me start off by saying I love roses and also in fragrance. Not the grandma soap vibes, more like real rose petals that you sink your nose into. I can get into the juicy jammy vibes as long as its not juvenile. Fleur De Sable Is very soft pretty princess vibes. I really get the creamy slightly powdery Orris (which I also love) the rose is very soft spoken and pretty. The spices are also soft and blend nicely. Its like the perfect pretty girl cozy scent that is so slept on.

This is beautiful. The hot sand and desert wind hit you in the face. There is some flower somewhere far away, possibly already fossilized from the heat. Juicy and green-ish paprika, however, reminds one that there is life there somewhere. The composition is unlike anything else, really unique. Don't know anything with a similar vibe. Easy to wear, not loud, warm and classy. Can be a great signature scent.

I gifted this to my mom. such a beautiful scent. its more on signature scent typo. if you only want one perfume. its interesting but also classically beautiful. slightly sweet slightly jammy slightly fresh. it has that LI back bone...i think that is why i love this house so much because of the resins/incense feel. its well rounded and complete.

I blind test my samples, end up sniffing my wrist eagerly like a hound dog, and time after time it's Fleur de Sable! I study the notes trying to understand: myrrh, peppers, vegetable... I can't explain why but this perfume somehow hits the jackpot😆 It's like a gentle spicy rose in the wind at sea shore. Captivating.

One of my favourite scents. Not really anything else resembles this from my limited experience. I don't know how but it's linear while versatile, juvenile while sophisticated. It's sweet but not heavy, reminds me of red bean or even green bean flavored ice bar from my childhood summertime. So Beautiful.

So beautiful. It's like discovering a pond of crystal clear rose water in the middle of a desert. The eglantine rose is so dewy and pure, while paprika and pepper make for a convincing gust of hot wind over sparkling golden sands. Art in a bottle for me, but absolutely wearable.

I adore Desert Suave, and so I was very excited to sample Fleur De Sable. Pepper keeps this gorgeous rose fragrance from becoming too sweet. Myrrh and orris work together to bring this to another level.

Delicious young jammy rose, spicy from the pepper which makes it different. I usually dislike rose fragrances but this one is a gem. On my skin lasts 8+ hours with a nice projection.

An absolutely lovely fragrance. I agree with the previous writer that it is "bewitching" It is a stand alone fragrance and I hope to always have a bottle.

Blind bought as I’m suddenly on a rose kick for the first time in my life. This is very nice. The rose is fresher, pinker, and younger than the traditional screechy soapy rose scents I grew up around in the 80s and 90s. This scent is fresh but not screechy, not vintage, and not headache inducing. Softened by the orris without being too powdery or makeupy. Very aromatic and chic. I get the “sand” vibe for sure. I live in the desert. This doesn’t smell exactly like sand but it feels like sand in the sun. There’s a green freshness to it. I believe the orange/mandarine note helps with the solar/sunshine feeling and makes the rose a bit fruity without being too sweet. The incense/myrrh isn’t too smoky or church-like and somehow make this feel fresh to me. The scent feels light, like it would be a skin scent, so I oversprayed and it certainly does perform. It intensifies within the first hour after application. It projects about an arms reach or more. Overall this is a fragrance for an elegant grown woman who wants to be unique and beautiful without demanding the attention of the room. It seems best suited for sunny days spent at brunch, shopping, or just lounging. In cooler temps it has a “just came from the spa” feeling of being freshly showered and scented with luxurious high end soaps and oils. Not gourmand, and not very niche feeling. Has more of an expensive perfume from a department store type scent. Something in the drydown reminds me of Ex Nihilos Fleur Narcotic, but rose instead of peony. Overall gorgeous. Wasn’t exactly what I expected and I was unsure of it at first but I like it more and more with each wear.

The perfume opens with a light, floral note from the eglantine rose, accompanied by a subtle touch of mandarin that offers a beautiful fruity echo without becoming overly sweet. Interestingly, I don’t detect the pink pepper or black pepper as much, but there is a faint vegetal note that likely comes from the paprika. It slightly reminds me of bell pepper, though it remains distant and subtle. This perfume is beautifully crafted and well balanced. While it isn’t my type of scent due to its distinctly feminine character, I still find it undeniably beautiful. Overall, it feels light and airy. As I smell it, I experience a sense of peace. The image that comes to mind is of a woman in a long dress covered in blue flowers. The dress itself is an almost dirty white shade, and she wears a light khaki sweater, unbuttoned, with a straw hat on her head. She sits on a blanket in nature while the sun shines softly and a gentle breeze drifts through the air. It feels as if time has stopped capturing the essence of the most relaxed summer day imaginable.

This is a long-lasting, elegant rose fragrance, definitely NOT unisex, feminine-leaning, but it’s beautifully made. It starts with a blast of rose and pepper that tickles the nose ever so slightly, and dries down to a paprika/spice that is well suited for an elegant woman. The orris root comes through and I think this is what gives it an elegant, high-end make up vibe, all the while maintaining the rose. It lasts all day and projects at arms length. Good sillage, about 6 feet and the scent trail smells amazing. Rating: 4.25/5 Recommendation: Buy (if you’re into feminine-leaning fragrance)

Lovely! This was a blind buy for me. Sprayed it this morning and it immediately reminded me of something else. I wouldn't say they are dupes but it has very very similar undertones to dedcool taunt, which is a favorite so I'm very happy! Really lovely spring scent. I wouldn't say that I can necessarily pick out any of the specific notes, and if I had to say what type of fragrance it is just by smelling I'd say floral, citrus, vanilla. It really does smell just like taunt which is bergamot, musk, vanilla, just with an added floral head.

Beautifully blended peppery rose with orris and a hint of orange and paprika. For me rose scents are iffy because they usually have a good amount of patchouli or oud! This fragrance has none! A very sophisticated rose perfume. I added this to my collection! Addendum - the first few hours are a beautiful rose , and the fragrance lasts all day , but I found that by the end of the day I got an edgy pepper only, that I found a bit annoying. I still like the fragrance , but will have to be more selective when I wear it

It just arrived today and I’m still testing it, but my first impression is a strong burst of pepper and rose definitely the most dominant notes. I’m not sure yet if I love it or just like it, but it certainly makes a statement. The presentation is stunning, very elegant. As for the scent itself, it feels serious and refined. It’s not sweet or fruity at all instead, it offers a cool, respectful kind of harmony. It keeps a certain distance, in a way, yet still carries presence and character without being loud.

The wild rose is very realistic. Other than the rose I mostly get incense-y myrrh and black pepper. Overall the perfume is very fresh and airy. It will be perfect for spring - but I also LOVE it for a light, clear and crisp Scandinavian autumn day. Just perfect for transition seasons. If the performance was better I would give it a full score.

Super gorg, elegant perfume. The rose note is super dominant, I can barely smell the other ones, which makes this a bit "boring". I like it a lot, super clean and fresh, smells like something you'd wear for a wedding or an engagement. If we could smell colors, beige would smell like this fragrance.

A confusing and elusive fragrance. Sometimes you smell the pepper clearly, and other times you smell the rose. Eglantine Rose.. 🙂

It's kinda sweet although the pepper manages to keep it down a little. A faint vegetal whiff in the distance but otherwise, it smells like a better produced oriental incense in this region. Like slightly burnt sugar. Or curry powder. Yes, it kinda dries down to that scent (no doubt from the rose and pepper mix, of course). Overall, it's pleasant and wearable but not sure what the hype really was, if there was any. The bottle's colour is nice though so I might get it if it's on discount.

Agh this smells a lot like the tagetes note in Byredo’s Bal De Afrique and I feel like if you like one you most likely will enjoy the other. That tagetes note....I can’t tolerate unfortunately. It’s like a very peppery and citrusy rose. And pepper doesn’t sit well on me. Objectively, this is a lovely fragrance. I could see this being a signature scent. Smells classy and feminine but it’s quite unique so it’s not a safe blind buy. Glad I bought a sample first.

A very floral scent that isn't as sweet as I expected. I had high hopes about this one, but the opening was a bit decieving, it was almost repulsive. I excpected something more unique but it just smells like flowers. I do not see this scent on young women like myself, more on classy older women. However, my own deception doesn't interfere with the fact that I still think it's a great 7/10 overall

Opening reminds me of Amouage Rose incense , but with fresher and younger rose. Later i get flaming hot finnish sauna vibe or someone roasting myrrh and red pepper on a dry pan and there is a rose bush behind the open window just in front of the stove and fresh sweet air fills the room while witch prepares dry ingridients for her spells. It's very beautiful and special.

I’m truly sorry, but this composition is a disaster. Syrupy, cloyingly sweet, dominated by vegetal pepperiness, rose and myrrh; it’s strange, but not the good kind of strange. I had such high hopes when I read the notes: wind accord, wild rose, everlasting flower... yet no, the ship drifted off course, straight into the whirlpool! To make matters worse, an acrid, sour-green herbal note emerges toward the end. I usually adore herbal nuances; but not this kind. Apologies to the fans, but it’s a hard pass for me. I was extremely excited to try this out because I believed the note lineup was fantastic and that I’d enjoy it a lot, but alas... The eglantine rose is there, but it’s so transparent and far away. The paprika smell is the second most noticeable thing; it’s extremely vegetal in a bad way, and the blend simply doesn’t work. The fragrance is also very salty and vague, and the performance is poor. A pass.

First i bought Hawwa pink and hated it thinking something is wrong with my batch because so many people like it. Than I bougt swiss arabian rose 01 -same smell, just litlle bit weaker. Than I bougt *Fleur De Sable Les Liquides Imaginaires*, same smell, just much, much weaker with less sillage . Let me repeat identical!

Reviewing a decant from 2024. Fleur de Sable was launched in 2019. This is a soft warm spicy floral. It opens with fresh and salty pink pepper followed by unusual smelling florals - perhaps this is due to the use of eglantine rather than typical rose or maybe due to the addition of paprika. It gets spicier as it dries down but stays dry and almost powdery like warm sand. Remarkable blending although I would really like to know what *wind note* smells like. The notes as per Les Liquides Imaginaires is as follows: The top notes- Bergamot,Pink Pepper, Water&salt, Wind note Heart notes-Eglantine (wild rose), paprika,Everlasting flower(immortelle) Base notes- Black pepper,Myrrhe,Orris,Ambroxan Quality- excellent 5/5 Unisex Performance- very good 4/5 Fleur de Sable is an exotic scent offering a unique take on Rose. An underrated gem. How the above listed notes manage to result in a beautiful fragrance rather than a spicy meal remains a mystery. 9/10

This is a surprising love-at-first-sniff given that i'm not a huge rose lover. exactly, i mean exactly, the smell of azuki daifuku aka red bean mochi. the sweetness of the red bean paste filling inside is just right, not overly sweet, wrapped up by a soft rice-y outer layer with light dusting giving it that bit of powdery-ness. As it dries down i sense something very very lightly smoky as if you put that mochi in the oven to reheat it and it gets lightly burned on top. Just gorgeous.

This is one of the most unique scents I have, I love wearing it. Very spicy rose, not sweet and not too floral. I wear it at night more than daytime, and have gotten a few compliments. Most people are just curious because they haven't smelled anything like it. The spices also give it a "worn-in" quality that makes it seem more like it's a part of your body chemistry than a strong perfume. Not a safe blind buy but I recommend trying!

It has nothing to do with Atomic Rose @Epoch_de_perfume And I’m glad so. Fleur de Sable catches dry rose petals and it stays like that. It doesn’t smell sweet, it smells floral with good dose of spices. To me this is one of the best from LI line. I loved how well balanced this perfume is. Nothing smells unusual, weird or off unlike Atomic Rose. If this song were a perfume it would be Desert Rose By Sting, without a doubt.

I got the opportunity to buy this at a good price so against my better judgement I blind bought a Liquides Imaginaires full bottle... and I'm so happy I did! This is luxury in a bottle. It's tangy, flowery and peppery in an oriental mix. Definitely fits the theme of the desert. A stunner for sure.

Floral, chili, & orange. Another spicy floral blend from a has been house. It's too bad to see "Les Liquides Imaginaires" gone down the drain with such new company direction to save money and live on the brand's past. Another one bite the dust.
