Got my bottle in today! This is/was one of my most anticipated orders ever. As a collector I think knowing they only made 999 of these I would have bought it regardless the smell, but I did sample it first and thankfully it was an instant love for me. Problem was by the time I got the sample the only place that still had stock was Scentsplit, and they had upped the price from $295 to $395. I waited about a day pondering if I wanted to spend that and decided I had to. At worst its an investment. Turns out I got the last bottle and the price jumped to $695 for backorders. Not sure they will be back though. Anyway the smell...(also ordered a 10ml decant from scentsangel. I'm not opening the numbered box) The solar notes is the star for me. They did an excellent job of relaying..well, liquid gold. Slightly warm like how the sunshine is on your face or the way the rays or heat from the rays smell shining into a room from a window. Although being my favorite part the Solar Notes are not all that's going on. Warm Musk is there with the Saffron just behind it as well as semi thick vanilla. Not dry but not full gourmand in the way it presents itself. Jasmine is around the edges and not hard to detect however also not sharp. Labdanum gives a leather feel to this, I can see how TF Ombre Leather is a candidate for a "reminds me of ". If you take a deep slow smell you can tie them together. To me, what first came to mind for some reason was Carlisle from PDM. side by side they are way different though. It's the way the Musk comes off. The way this is so well blended yet still able to pull singular notes is amazing in itself, typically you get it one way or the other. The Mandarin didn't jump out like I expected but rather it helped to create the "gold" mixing with the Musk, Saffron and Vanilla mainly. Overall this is a true masterpiece, I love it more and more and I notice more as I get to wear it. Unfortunate it's a limited stock but I'm grateful and very happy to be the owner of #485! I feel it's worth noting this is one of the most sexy fragrances I've ever smelled. Perfectly Unisex IMHO. (I'm a male) If you can find a bottle of this left don't hesitate. It's a banger! I'd say this is very versatile as well. Even summer nights I can see pulling this off no problem. I can't wait to experience this and pull back more layers. Awsome fragrance.

This is sooo beautiful!. It starts with leathery, metallic and saffron notes. The combination of top and middle notes gives this beautiful solar-sunny note which is very pleasant for my nose. I like to wear it during summer days because, this solar note during the sunny time of the day gives the feeling of natural skin-like very pleasant scent. What was the most impressive for me, is that it turns to creamy and sweet scent so silently and impressively that it's almost unnoticeable and then you realise that your nose now is smelling something totally different than it was in the beginning. At first when I wore it for the first time, after a few hours from spraying it, I was wondering what I was wearing and maybe it got mixed with the previous perfume that I was wearing, and then I realised that it performed to something different. Amazing, I really like it and the craftsmanship behind it pretty awesome. I would totally recommend it.

Liquide Gold blooms from the skin with diffusive orange blossom and saffron. It then calms down to a personal fragrance bubble consisting mainly of musks and soft vanilla. I believe this is meant to be an airy, gentle, caressing fragrance to warm the soul, not a 'Beast Bro' in the slightest. It's refined, and it's very very nice. BUT! (as someone who likes to tell it like it is) this does share a passing scent memory to several designer fragrances of the past, like Paco Rabanne 1 Million edt, and the Gaultier Le Male flankers as well as Gaultier 2), ones I used to wear all them years back. OK, Liquide Gold is more refined, subtle, expensive... but there is something in the DNA during the first few hours ( In my opinion! ) No big issue for me, just an observation! NOTE : A year and a half later, this quickly became a firm favourite.

Oh this is good. Can’t wait until the weather turns cooler so I can wear it more. I do see the similarities to Rosendo Mateu No. 5 & Merchant of Venice Vinegia 21, but Liquide Gold is lighter and more daytime appropriate. The Quentin Bisch fingerprint is apparent with this, and it does bear resemblance to Balmain Rouge and Maison Crivelli Tubereuse Astrale, which are other warm spicy floral loves of mine that QB composed. I really enjoy the DNA of Liquides Imaginaires and have yet to try something in this house that didn't appeal to me. Very well-blended thoughtful compositions that aren’t cranked out by the boatload. Appropriate for all genders, day or night, but probably best for fall and winter or cool summer nights.

A sweet resinous vanilla combined with saffron that creates an amber like scent for all ages because it’s not mature nor dated and I feel like even people who don’t care for amber will like this. Amber isn’t listed but a combination of the accords give me a polished sweet amber vibe. Smells opulent yet simple and I never detected any of the floral notes, which makes me happy. It’s slightly spicy and magical to me because I feel like it gives a radiant spectrum, as if spraying it will give you a golden aura... I love it when perfume makes me delusional! 😆 Unisex but I do imagine women loving it more. It’s a mystical but slightly snobby sweet fragrance. A more sweet and non powdery version of Material by Amouage maybe?

It’s a LOVE: gorgeous, unique, sexy, warm, versatile, with an extremely addictive dry down. It is like nothing else out there- a beautiful and intriguing masterpiece, in my opinion, which projects nicely while pulling people in close. It is masterfully blended and very difficult to describe. While it stands monumentally on its own, layering it with Vibrato or Love Don’t be Shy takes it into other realms of fresher or sweeter. My husband goes insane over this fragrance. It always hits just right. I never want to be without it. Massive compliment getter! The best of LI.

I absolutely LOVE this! I purchased a decant and just ordered a FB. It’s definitely not a linear fragrance. The opening is a bit medicinal (is it the saffron?) and reminds me slightly if Venenom Kiss by Ex Nihilo, which was also created by Quentin Bisch. Once the fragrance dries down, it’s the most warm, comforting fragrance. While it’s not a gourmand, it has this sweet, “delicious” quality. It’s really divine. Lasts forever on clothes. I have a jacket that I wore briefly AFTER spraying this. The scent transferred, and I can smell it days later.

It really is magical! To me, this is the smell of a guarding angel, the smell of a ray of divine light in a dark place abandoned by God. At the same time, it's nostalgic and empowering, modern and very traditional, taking you up to the heaven and yet grounding. The bottle and the solemn slightly metallic church smell reminds me of medieval alchemists dreaming of the Elixir, the magical substance that turns anything into gold. It's haunting in the purest way possible. It is the perfume that can give you POWER if it matches you...

Liquid Imaginaries Gold is a deep, complex and artistic fragrance. It opens musky, with fruity and subtle spicy nuances, evolving into a refined, mature vanilla at the heart. The base is distinctly metallic and enigmatic, giving the scent a unique and non-conventional character. This is not an easy or crowd-pleasing perfume; it feels clearly mature and sophisticated, slightly leaning feminine, with moderate and elegant projection. I personally reach for it at night and for special occasions .

Very interesting fragrance, has a metallic note to it. Very hard to describe in fact, definitely strong on musk and saffron so very unisex till mid notes, then vanilla takes it more to the fem side. Just like Ganymede, it’s a unique scent. If you like Ganymede, I’ll bet my top dollar you will like this. Projection isn’t monstrous, silage is moderate, I’d prefer it to be best mode.

Addictive like a ray of sunshine in a bottle. A dance of satyrs and nymphs at golden hour. My favorite perfume when I want to lift my mood. Musky, powdery, citrusy, with a noticeable metallic edge. It perfectly captures the alchemical idea of turning metal into gold; a rare balance between fantastical concept and wearability in a niche fragrance.

To my nose, this smells like RMNo.5, Babycat and Blanche Bete all mixed together and sprayed on me. I love it. I own all of those 3. I love this a LOT but it may be a bit redundant in my collection. Still, I know I would reach for it as I have smashed my sample already in only a few days. I'm 56 F, and it's perfection for me.

Im usually not a huge fan of Quentin’s nieche perfumes. The alien smell of the Marc Barrois fragrances don’t really resonate with me. But this is perfection. Bright, lively notes of carrot tangy notes of mandarin contrasted by earthy saffron and patchouli. It’s the sun and the Earth at the same time. Truly divine perfumery.

I really like this. To me this is quite a syrupy fruity saffron perfume. Very warm and honeyed orange, the name is apt as it does smell like the colour gold. Familiar smelling and not especially unique but very likeable nonetheless. This would be great for evening wear in the summer months or on holiday!

This is an autumn and winter fragrance for me. Gorgeous warm spicy and slightly woody notes surround you in a bubble and that solar note makes it a happy scent. One of top three LI perfumes. It’s worth every penny as it lasts all day and it’s such an addictive scent.

Magnifique! I don’t recognize another perfume in this one. The full body, the spicyness that make the sweetness smell richer and deep. Sensual, leathery but just slightly, milky but just to calm down the fire of the beginning. Love it!

smells like synthetic cheap fragrance if you smell directly on it, but in the air its absolutely phenomenal. good performance. still cant understand why so much rate this as a womens fragrance. smells extremely unisex for me

You cant go wrong with this one. It was love at first sniff. Got the full bottle and first time trying it, got a compliment. There's something about this frag that makes you keep sniffing it. Very addicting!

I LOVE this fragrance. So yummy...my favorite from the house for sure. A perfect blend of all my favorite notes. I really pick up the orange blossom, jasmine, vanilla, musk, and patchouli. Just delicious.

There is something so special about this scent. It is so pleasent and warm, and there is something leathery, maybe safron that makes me so addicted. After couple of wearings I decided to buy it!

This fragrance is one of the ebst spring ones, its creamy , you can feel a sparkling tuberose and flowers mixed with safran and a beautiful woody base, good performace, absolutely a masterpiece

A gentle musk. This isn't a scent that Chad Thundercock would wear; it doesn't scream POWER. It's humble, joyous, secure, with a hint of whimsy. It's like a warm hug from your father figure.

The sillage on this is divine. I'm not a fan of saffron but it doesn't overwhelm this. The overall experience is of a slightly spicy, slightly suede-y, fluffy, orange blossom-scented cloud.

It’s Tubereuse Astrale sub saffron for tuberose. Which is delightful as TA is one of my favorites and I love saffron. I am very happy with this blind buy.

I had to test it 3 times before giving an opinion on this because it is an unusual scent.On me it starts very tangy, for few seconds almost unpleasantly so, then the spiciness becomes warmer, never sweet on me.It stays warm-spicy in an oriental way, like some other reviewer remarked.Well...as to the ,,solar notes", I first had to do a Google-research on the exact meaning and found out that ,,the solare note created using benzyl salicylate, comprises ylang-ylang, frangipani, tiare, and carnation"...maybe that is why I perceived it as ,,warm spiciness" with the coriander and carrot seeds.The dry-down is indeed sweet with the vanille and labdanum.All in all, I find it to be more of a summer scent,unisex,very pleasant,long lasting but with moderat sillage

I won a 5ML sprayer through a Giveaway from Maxaroma Youtube Video... And I just want to say THANK YOU for this Gracious present in the mail! Anyway I found this fragrance to be just as described in the note profile... They were trying to portray the scent of METALLIC GOLD and SUNSHINE into a Scent... I it is a Metallic Spiced Amber Scent... with hints of white floral and soft patchouli... a bit linear at first ,but then starts to develop into the spiced amber dry-down... would I pay $$$ for this fragrance?... Probably not... since it does fall a little feminine but can still be worn by a male!

Niche December Contestant 22: This one is an alright sweet-spicy fragrance with good performance and projection. I don't have much to say about this, this is a typical "Noir" type scent with all the same features. Just too sweet, and not very wearable. I do know that some are into this. Thus, 5/10 EDIT: Turns out, that someone is me. Revisiting this scent after half a year has given me a different opinion. It's a very nice scent, yet I wouldn't typically wear it. But, I am raising the rating to a 7/10!

A fascinating and hard-to-describe fragrance. It opens with saffron and a hint of citrus before melting into a warm, ambered glow. There’s a smoky-but-not-smoky quality that feels more like heated skin or sunlight than literal smoke. It’s not floral in a traditional way—more abstract, with soft musky warmth and a golden aura. I’ve never smelled anything quite like it. Not an immediate love, but definitely one I’d consider purchasing in the future after finishing some of my current bottles.

Just wanted to comment on the type of scent I think this is. Sometimes there are perfumes that don't smell good up close but smell very good wafting in the air from a distance. I think this might be one of those. Smells lovely to me when sniffing the air, not so much as I sniff my wrist up close.

Really similar (80%) to Borntostandout Dirty Heaven but slightly better. Smoother juice & better bottle as I hate the cap design of BTSO fragrances. Airy white floral with a light gasoline touch as expected. (QB's DNA)

Pafory Advent Calendar 2025 – Day 21 First impression: unapologetically opulent. Thick, syrupy, and heavy from the outset. Saffron - usually a marker of luxury - feels dense here, almost too much, and the orange barely manages to cut through all that sweetness. As it develops, the heart lightens slightly. Florals begin to emerge, along with a gentle, restrained spiciness that tries to restore some balance. It smooths out, but never quite shakes that rich, plush character. The drydown settles into sweet musky vanilla and woods, anchored by the resinous depth of labdanum. Polished, warm, and undeniably luxurious - but still firmly on the heavy side. For me, it’s simply too sweet. It lacks the sharp edge or contrast I tend to look for. Definitely a cold-weather, evening scent - just not one I personally connect with. On my skin, the saffron note comes across very leathery and I don't enjoy that facet of the note. On paper in the store, it smelled amazing to me. Glad I just got a sample and not a whole bottle because I'm not enjoying this at all. If this is your jam, it's a fantastic, high quality fragrance and smells good in the air.

I agree with the reviewer who likened this to an 'old house smell' - very musky, slightly spicy, woody, it's warm and there's some sweetness but it's the type of sweetness you get in men's fragrances, not a feminine sweetness...definitely a more mature scent. It's nice if you like that vibe but it's not for me.

This is wonderful, a creamy, powdery musk that blends very nicely with your skin. Yet, it has a spicy, almost smoky quality that makes it darker and more interesting. Unfortunately, it is headache inducing and i am migraine prone which I'm quite upset about as it smells so so good.

In a side by side skin test against Babycat, this one is more floral, sweeter and fluffier, without Babycat’s suede accord. Not bad but leans feminine and feels somewhat flat, lacking depth.

Bisch really does seem to be making the same perfume over and over again with slight tweaks. The difference here is it's cloyingly sweet alongside the usual Ganymede base.

Testing: Smells like an Amaretto cocktail straight out and at least during the first hour. Smells nice but heavier + more syrupy than the reviews imply.

I tried to love this but it is just too sharp on me. The saffron orange combo is overwhelming.

Pink bubble gum or bubble bath

Skin chemistry is remarkable! This one looks like smelling totally different on different people. On me this is La Belle (original) by JPG with a metallic note in the middle. In the drydown pure La Belle. Dominated by vanilla and orange blossom, very feminine. I didn’t expect it at all! *Now, almost 2 years after I tried it, my sample settled as something more similar to other people are smelling. I'd now describe it as heavily honeyed version of Rosendo 5 or this type of scent profile (Babycat, less smoky Vanagloria - you name it). It's actually quite nauseating and utterly exhausting.

Almost identical to Dirty Heaven! I think the combination of saffron-amber-vanilla is what causes this, I'm not sure. When the two are so similar, I couldn't make any other comment. It's a very artificial scent. Overly perfumey I don't like saffron this way at all. Metallic and sweet, meh :( It has been compared to Tubéreuse Astrale. No way! Crivelli is far superior to this creation.

I get perfumey leather or oud. The stinky kind! It’s got some fruity sweetness, but boy do I dislike this interpretation of woody notes. It’s heavy and to me, sickness inducing. Quentin Bisch was involved, makes a lot of sense. I have yet to discover anything I like by him.

and there it is! the first Liquides Imaginaires perfume I dislike! :D On my skin, saffron, carrot seed and some other note combine to smell like urine, ew. Then it dries down to a generic orange scent.

Parfum générique et très synthétique Vraiment bas de gamme...

I was given this as a nice little 7.5ml sample from Harvey Nichols a while back and only tried it this morning. I didn't know anything about it. Samples are the best kind of blind mystery testing. I get a real kick out of doing that. So I tried it and it plastered a huge, huge too-early-Friday morning smile across my crinkled, tired features. Liquide is shockingly good. If I had to sum it up, I'd say it is a saffron-centric fragrance that is quite clever because the saffron is in the top notes, the heart and the base, but has different effects in each stage. The yellowy top notes are saffron freshened with a lovely sweet mandarin accord that teases you with the impression of honey that isn't actually there. The heart is saffron and spices playing on the slight sourness of the saffron. The base is wood, enhanced with some patchouli and given more richness with some ambroxan and some labdanum. The ambroxan here is very well done indeed as it plays on the minerally edge of the saffron a bit and blurs the lines of definition. It is as if they've taken the three things you associate with the saffron accord: sweetness, slight sourness and almost ambery richness, and used the other accords to diffuse each characteristic to homogenise the whole thing. As we expect from Liquides Imaginaires, the blending is superlative and there is nary a one rough edge or shouty accord that juts above the rest. This is an extremely accomplished study of saffron as a perfumery accord. Like amber, saffron is a note I have struggled to get on board with in the past. I like the smell but find it quite one-dimensional and rich in a way that drowns out other accords. I enjoyed Zafferano by Acqua di Parma which I bought about a year ago, but was disappointed in how linear it was and how short-lived it was on my skin. I think Liquide is the fragrance I wanted Zafferano to be. The drydown is epic and splendid in the way Arabic sunsets are. There is a much greater floral and citrus presence in Liquide than in Zafferano and it holds hands with the saffron in a way you might do with someone you love during an Arabic sunset. It shines. It glows. The floral notes are actually sweeter than the mandarin in this and the real master stroke is the orange blossom that ties it all together. The cardamom and carrot seed in the heart just deepens the orange blossom so that it isn't drowned out by the saffron. This is a genuinely brilliantly balanced bit of perfumery. Fragrantica cites this as strongly feminine leaning and I don't think that is true to my mind: this is fully unisex and as wearable as anything to boot, although it goes a little more feminine as it dries down. Regardless, it is right up my street as fragrances go and I'll be buying a full bottle of this the first chance I get. Longevity is 5-6 hours projection but I think if you are wanting a projection monster to fill rooms then this isn't the one. This is the sort of fragrance you wear when you want a confident, refined and incredibly attractive skin scent that projects enough but not too much. It does that extremely well. More beauty than beast, I would say. Three Word Summary: Golden Sunset Saffron Scent - 10/10 Sillage - 7/10 Drydown - 7/10 Bottle/packaging - this was a sample so I won't count this rating and mark this out of 40 instead of the usual 50. Performance - 7/10 31/40
