Phantasma Eau de Parfum

Wow! Bought blindly as a travel bottle. Astonishing - at first I thought there was a mistake. The initial spray was of gorgeous yellow and white pollinated flowers. For me that’s a ‘yuk’ normally but like all Liquides Imaginaires it wins me over with the build and quality - and for the first time I’ve gone - hmm - I could wear this - damn - it’s female but I can definitely wear this! Then, I snapped out of it - I realised I hadn’t ordered this because I like florals. Then I remembered - it was a tea and some other fresh things as notes. An hour later by the time I refreshed my memory as to the notes and the sticky musky sweetness has subsided enough that I can pull apart the notes - the rice in particular that was misleading my olfactory senses drops back enough that you can see/smell the tea with yuzu over the top backed by wood. A very well made smell and very pleasant - so much so I’d consider a full bottle but maybe not for the full price as I can not imagine wearing it enough other than for a ‘mood’ scent. Easily one of the most impressive brands I’ve had the pleasure to own. This would make the 6th full purchase!

Phantasma is a really wonderful herbal tea scent. In the drydown the yuzu and ginger notes show themselves, and it blends exceptionally well. It smells exactly like a nice, hot cup of green tea. However, I think the bottle and name is unfitting. I care quite a bit about the visuals, and an unfitting bottle can confuse me and throw me off when taking in the scent. This bottle should be green, to tie the story together better, like Liquides Imaginaires usually do well. But that's just an aesthetic critique - the scent is still one of the very best.

As an Asian, this is so far the most realistic eastern tea that I ever scent. Unlike western tea, it's not sweet or floral at all. I don't really like sweet tea. However, I've found out that most tea perfumes are somehow smelled sweet. For tea fragrances, I recommend this one, Blue Tea by The Merchant of Venice (eastern floral tea, not sweet indeed) and Tea Tonique by Miller Harris (lemon + black tea, a little bit sweet but fine for me).

Super safe blind reach for me for work days. Can't see how this can go wrong. Very safe DNA yet it smells slightly unique in a sense. Gotta a lot of good going on all at once. Very much worth the sample. Don't understand the rating it currently has. Slightly masculine ezliabeth arden vibes.

I love it, everything about it, even the atomizer! The only problem is my bottle started to leak during a plane trip, and it was in the cabin with me. That's quite the bummer as the perfume is pretty expensive. Still, i don't exclude buying it again or exploring other Liquides Imaginaires

I like the rice powder note in here, it’s the most prominent note on my skin with the tea playing much more of a background role. It’s an easy reach for me as a casual day time scent.

Wonderful balanced floral-woody chypre with dominant notes of narcissus, clary sage and hazelnut. Slightly animalic, long lasting, but not overly loud. Thumbs way up!

I love the smell so much its tea like its airy its light but i just discovered SC Johnson off! MAX mosquito repellent smells exactly the same as the main note

A beautiful tea scent , soft but also very long lasting

My initial impression of Phantasma is cozy chamomile tea, blooming citrus, ginger, and a hint of savory steamed white rice. There is also something in this fragrance dry down that comes off as powdery with warm woods in the finish. The juniper is barely perceptible to my nose. That's a note that usually turns me away. This is a great intimate tea fragrance that is expertly executed. It's a good book, in a comfy chair, in your best and comfiest loungewear. LLI is a very consistent house and this fragrance is in line with their quality and dedication to niche perfumery. Like most tea fragrances, it is short lived on skin but clings to clothing very well. I don't mind respraying if only for the stress relief.

This is definitely not what i expected, speculatin from the notes It smells very clean and a bit aromatic Remiding me kind of some ceramic or paint I guess I would describe it as musky aromatic but there is not uch tea or rice to be detected, which I was really excited about

Something about the way all these notes blend actually smells like a fresh lilac bush to me. Just resmelled -- I think I initially got lilac bc of that indolic blooming smell going on. It's like lilacs and mothballs with a touch of yuzu.

Tea, green tea, plus ylang-ylang and jasmine. These three are what I mainly pick up; the rice note isn’t very noticeable. The texture is decent, and compared with J-Scent, it’s better.

This one reminds me of Nivea Body lotion although it's has a little sharpness to it. My friends disagree. Only I seem to like it.

Smells a bit like trash but not in a bad way, ever so slightly fermented.

Oh hi, lemon tea! There's plenty of tart black tea from the outset, all given a citrussy lift by the yuzu. It's a spot on rendering of iced tea. I don't know how this relates to the idea of phantasm. Given this house I was expecting wispy, murky weirdness and I got a regular green-leaning tea scent. Dry and a bit austere. This could be a Le Labo, especially with the pale woods in the base, but at a better price. Phantasma is identical on blotter and skin and the note list is a great indicator of the accord. The exception is the rice note which I'm not sure I can detect, perhaps a faintly sweet quality on my skin. I enjoy it more as the woods settle and intensify. Not what I was expecting.

I was put off by the first sniff of Phantasma. It smelled sour in a bad way, like a citrus fruit that's rotten inside. Not charming. But, having learned that not every love is immediate, I tried Phantasma again and again. Mostly just an hour or so before a planned shower, so I could wash it off before it annoyed the bejeezus out of me. When I started to postpone showering for just a little longer, I realized I'd started to love Phantasma. Phantasma is at first a very yellow scent to me, but not an innocent and fresh yellow. I still get an odd, rank citrus. Is it the rice mixed with the yuzu? After about fourty to sixty minutes, it turns sky blue. Fresh and airy, completely irresitible.

In my opinion, this is a well-done, very unique niche fragrance. The notes listed here on Fragrantica- along with the little icons- are exactly what this smells like and the kind of vibe it gives off. Black tea and rice with an intimate, musky feel; slightly bitter and citrusy, with a subtle woody, almost foresty edge. It’s minimalist, but I wouldn’t call it a “clean” scent. As the notes suggest, it has an Eastern feel, and I truly do think it’s great. I just don’t identify with it, and to me, it leans slightly masculine.

The opening is really sharp, not what I expected at all! Also, is there ylang-ylang in it? I cannot stand yellow florals :( Dries down to a powdery jasmine tea scent, which is ok. There are much better scents from LI than this one.

Smells like someone sprayed dirty underwear with bous 1920 Oltremare. Could be worse. It honestly smells like an old man blue fragrance.
