Saffron Mandarin

I sampled this recently and kept coming back to it enough I bought a small decant. The opening is fresh mandarin, but it’s the base notes that I’m in love with. It’s dry, oaky, and fresh. Really unique. I get small sillage and moderate longevity.

I love saffron, and love it more when its mooxed with bergamont orange and its a fresh scent, perfect summer scent

Fresh and bright at the opening, dries down to pepperish scent. Most realistic orange for me for now.

As others have said this is a very realistic mandarin. I can smell orange pips and a slight bitter zest. On paper I didn’t detect and saffron or spice. On skin it’s there, very dry - maybe that’s the pepper. I’m not sure I would buy a bottle as LI is on the pricey side (although I have a few bottles from them) but I would be interested in a travel size if they ever do that for this collection.

My initial impression was of orange essential oil, dustiness, and a general sort of Lush bath bomb vibe (lemony, ylang-ylang-y, natural jasmine and tonka). I thought I might smell vetiver in there. The oak is strong and bitter. I didn't get labdanum at any point, which is too bad because that's one of my favorite notes! The drydown is weird and sour. My husband tried it too and said it smelled like Sunny D to him.

At first I liked it, liked it a lot Thought of some variation of Ganymede But I after I tested it from the paper strip Oh no, my mood was ruined Too strong, too obnoxious, too sour, etc Too, too much! Perhaps if applied gently - it's ok But not what I've expected from it

The mandarin note is so photorealistic it felt like peeling one with my bare hands. I found that the saffron note added some creaminess to it— it was unexpected but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s fruity but on the bitter side. Beautiful and fresh but grown.

Very realistic mandarin orange, but with a woody/dusty background. Imagine peeling a sweet mandarin orange in an old library, with some other assorted, non-distinct, and cut-open fruits lying around.

Really screechy in the dry down though it starts off quite nice for that first beautiful minute or so.
