Sirenis

I’ve found my samplings of Secretions Magnifiques strangely fascinating, haunting, and certainly memorable, not unpleasant but not like a wearable feminine perfume, although it’s not all male secretions. So I had to get this, also lured by the beautiful name and the colour like a mermaid’s grotto. Tipping that it would be a feminine and wearable SM, and I’m right! She’s a nasty little mermaid, playing with her eviscerated ocean prey and throwing bull kelp around to keep her strength up for hauling out when the brine soaked ships come by, singing her songs of sweet flowers and milky bodily irresistible temptations drawn out of the very soul of the sea and men. However I feel this one is for advanced fumies who are in love with the ocean and all its delights. It’s also not a million miles away from my other great blind buy this year, The Ghost in the Shell. Oysters, saliva, how lovers smell entwined on the sand after an ocean swim. Taking a wetsuit off, helping a surfer peel off after he’s been out for hours, smells like his face and mouth washed by seawater. Hell I’m gonna go and spray more. As delightful as the sweet dry down is, the nasty tempting story telling milky eyed mermaid has me entranced. Edited to add, the notes listed don’t make much sense to me, it’s strongly marine with quite a bit of salt and muguet florals. The soil-y herbs clarey sage and genet give it a dark planty feel.

When i read the notes I thought this would be masculine and sharp, I was very wrong. There is a bit of an herbaceous initial blast that quickly fades into a soft, slightly salty marine note. As it dries down, soft, white florals mixed with some herbs come forward with the marine note, more like salt water in the background. Ultimately Sirenis becomes a skin scent with musk, soft flowers and herbs, and just a little bit of the marine accord. It is unique, understated, more feminine aquatic scent. The marine note and herbs reminds me a bit of Davidoff Cool Water, but soft. Not linear or simple. Perfect for warmer weather and wearable in an office environment. My only mild criticism is that it doesn't have a ton of lasting power (personally, I am ok reapplying). I found this to be the case for other Liquides Imaginaires scents as well.

Very cosmetic, remember me of the cosmo e note that there Is also in allure senuelle and poison Dior 2007. The marine note Is prominente and the "transparent flower" Is a mix of Jasmin and Iris. I like it although ita feminine. It has face were bergamot, sage, oak Moss and sandali that gives the freshness of an aftershave. Like when you arrive tò the beach After a long cartrip and your dad has put on acqua di Gio and your mother a flower scented sun-screen. The nostalgia put this smell to a Favignana vacation or a beach shower and you use a Sea shower gel and a floral conditioner. 9/10 safe to blind buy, Just overpriced. Not too strong sillage,maybe 2 meters of sillage when you walk, one arm when you stand still, It last 24+ hours on skin qithout showering. At least 12 sprays raccomended

this is a really impressive marine scent... one of the most forwardly marine scents ive tried. the opening was beautiful... so marine and fresh. the middle part was a little tougher for me, the lingering marine notes made an almost too realistic impression of the beach in the summer that ended up smelling a little like sunscreen on my skin as the floral notes came out more; the only context i could ever wear this is in the middle of a summer day at the beach, anything other than that would be very confusing for me. and the drydown is beautiful... the musk and moss notes come out better and it blends beautifully with the light floral notes and the lingering marine notes. absolutely gorgeous perfume overall, it is just hard to wear because it is highly context specific.

I agree, this is definitely aquatic. It smells just like the colour of the bottle. Don’t be discouraged by the thought of fishy. It smells like the ocean breeze with a slightly mossy, musky tinge which makes it very pleasing and wearable. It appealed to my husband who simply said I smell wonderful. He’s quite picky with my perfumes and this comment was unsolicited and unexpected. I’m wearing it in cold weather. It performs quite well. Lasts a decent amount of time. I’m very happy with it. Curious to see how it goes in the heat. It might bring out the more fishy, animalic notes. I’m hoping more florals but it’s so well blended it’s hard to pick any one note. It’s totally its own smell.

Despite the negative reviews, I ended up buying it. The negative feedback almost made me doubt my own impressions. So yes!!! This is not a blind buy perfume! You need to test it first! I understand what people mean when they mention fishy notes—I’ve noticed that hint in cold weather too. This is 100% a warm-weather fragrance! In summer, under the sun, it unfolds amazingly! It smells like sea-washed rocks heated by the sun, with various flowers blooming somewhere along the coastline... I can’t wait for summer to wear it!!!

As a male wearing this, fucking incredible. Suitable freshie for my unique rotation to make me stand out and not smell like everyone else. Best part is with it being feminine leaning I can bet a heavy penny women will love this too. Worth the sample. Great introduction to the house. Phantasma is also solid for the 50$ i paid for each 100ml.

First hour not bad smelling at all. White musk with marine notes, bergamot and sage. Remembers me of aftershave, the Cruise soap, and various vintage women perfume like allure senuelle and pure poison

The most special perfume of this collection, not everyone can use it, it completely smells of sea water and fish, and it is a 100% aquatic perfume that is balanced with floral notes.

Its quiet unique, not a usually summer fragrance its sharp but yet comfy, performance is really good, happy i purchased a bottle of it

I would like to begin this review by distancing myself from those who describe this fragrance as smelling unpleasantly of fish or seaweed, sometimes even suggesting a sense of decay. Not because such impressions are necessarily invalid, as olfactory perception is deeply subjective, but because I believe many negative assessments stem from an expectation that Sirenis should be a pleasant, comforting marine fragrance. Yet I do not think that is what this perfume is trying to be. The fragrance reflects the very creature from which it draws its inspiration: the siren. And sirens are not simply the embodiment of salty air, exotic flowers, turquoise waters and idyllic seaside fantasies. They are creatures of contradiction, at once beautiful and monstrous. Within the siren coexist seduction and horror. She enchants sailors with her song only to drag them beneath the waves. She captivates in order to destroy. There is something inherently unsettling about her nature, and any faithful interpretation of that myth should preserve at least a trace of that tension. With this in mind, I could never have expected a fragrance built around starfish, tropical blossoms and a sanitized vision of the sea. What I expected was precisely what Sirenis delivers: an essence that arrives soft and alluring, like the song of a siren carried across the water, before gradually revealing something darker, saltier, more animalic and more authentically marine. It was never meant to be an accommodating fragrance, and I believe anyone considering it should accept that possibility from the outset. Moreover, I do not find it nearly as unpleasant as some reviews suggest. On the contrary, I find it fascinating how the marine accord intertwines with the floral and musky facets, eventually taking on nuances that feel almost animalic, scaled and faintly unsettling. To me, this is the siren of myth made fragrance: as enchanting as she is fatal, as graceful as she is bestial. And perhaps that is precisely why I find Sirenis so compelling. Many marine fragrances seek only to capture the beauty of the sea. Sirenis also captures its mystery, its danger, and the strange unease that has always accompanied humanity’s fascination with the ocean.

In my endeavor to try the entire LLI line, Sirenis in the second one I wanted to get out of my system because I had a feeling I would hate it. In the end, that's out of my league but you know what? I kind of didn't hate it. I find a lot of similitudes to Zoologist's Seahorse, at least in the floral aspect. Sirenis ends up way muskier and Seahorse ends up spicier and rounder, less metallic and more aromatic. Both have a slightly animalic tinge but not in the typical land-dwelling critters one is used to in perfumery, more on the marine side, a distinct "fishy" vibe. I personally don't hate it but I can see why some would be repulsed by it, the same way I get recoil from skatole or other dark musks. I quickly found out the reason why I've seen controversial comments and mentions of ELDO's Secretions Magnifiques: Sirenis has a metallic note that is shared with it (from the musk/moss?). The catch is, I only picked it up when I put my nose to my arm. In the air, Sirenis is quite pleasant, floral, musky and aquatic. People at work found it quite pleasant as well when they picked it up in my sillage. It doesn't last long however, after a couple of hours, it stuck close to skin for a good 5-6 hours and much later on I was left with a very soft aquatic floral with barely any musk and no metallic note. So, in the end, Sirenis is one you want to sample for sure and not blind buy. And I would definitely avoid the behavior of going up to your skin and taking a big whiff, it's not representative of the scent and it'll just turn you off big time. If you like Zoologist's Seahorse and wished it was more floral and less spicy, this may be worth a sniff.

Just got it, smelled it, tripped over myself running to the reviews and now it's my turn... The opening - oh man... A beautiful, fresh sea breeze. Salty, green, natural. Like a colder spring morning on a pier. A cloudy sky, sprays of saltwater hit you from the slamming waves. After 15 minutes of hanging out on the pier, a gruff tough old fisherman parks his boat right next to you. Moss and algae are covering the sides of the vessel and he is starting to scrub it off. Every now and then, you get a whiff of his sweat combined with a mossy green odor. It's getting sunny and the scraped algae is starting to smell in the sun. Good thing you are standing just far away so you don't have to take it in all the time. It has the great and the not so great sides of the aquatic and the sea. I like it just because it sits so bizarrely on me. The projection is weak, the longevity is okay, but the changes from sea salty freshness to stale mossy greenness is uncanny and too interesting to pass up on. I don't get fish, but I can see why it smells like fish to some people. It does have that highly metallic quality combined with the blue and green notes that can remind someone of dead fish. I get that. Get this ONLY if you are into frags that are different, interesting and you're not afraid of getting a comment about smelling a bit moldy and fishy. One thing is for sure, this one ain't boring.

This opens up pretty fresh and aromatic, like standing on a dock that is wet from the sea waves splashing on it and overgrown with algae, the salty breeze is in your hair and you're brathing in this beautiful aroma However, as soon as it dries this fragrance turns very dark and unpleasant I wanted to scrub it off my arm almost immediately because it was making me feel sick with notes of salty rotten algae I like the idea behind this because the siren (I assume thisis what the name means) is a creature that seduces you with beauty and then when you're already captured turns ugly and shows their true self and evil intentions

I do get the comparison to Secretions Magnifique by ELDO but for me that fades out within the first 5 minutes and I get a very pretty aquatic with amber. It’s hard to overspray this because it fades to a skin scent very quickly on me. Beautiful bottle. Terrific summer scent. One of the best summer aquatics IMHO. I like this much more that Belle de Jour and other seaweed salty aquatics. Just wait for the dry down.

Very pleasant and different - very early onit turned very chypre-esque on my skin Quite oddly as it developed it turned more and more into Gucci by Gucci EdT version... which for me it's a good thing, and I believe it's the Broom note doing it for it's similarity with with the honey on Gucci. A bit crazy similarity, I know - but for me, it's there, and I like it!

This is a soft floral aquatic. I don't get seaweed, metallic, or fishy from it though. It's musky and soft with a hint of saltiness, I rather enjoy it. This would be a great aquatic for people who don't normally like aquatics.

Huge LLI fan. Own many. Grabbed samples of their new line up including this. Whilst well made and as advertised - basically a fresh marine scent - think along the lines of Bulgari Aqua - the salty briny fishy aspect makes my stomach churn. It’s an extraordinarily well done perfume but the whiff (admittedly mostly nose to skin) of this horrid putrified flesh thing - think smashed crab brains (yeah - not exaggerating) just peering of the top of the florals leaves me shaking my head because all the the typical LLI boxes are ticked but clearly someone went a bit to risqué with the fleshy scent and needs to be reeled in. If you can’t smell the (I’m guessing Genet) aspect then this might be the one for you!

This perfume was totally a rollercoaster ride. When I first opened it, in the bottle it smelled like faint white flower. But when on skin... Imagine yourself standing by the sea, in a shallow and rocky place covered with mussels. It doesnt smell like nice, fresh sea breeze but rather dirty sea water mixed with seaweed thats has been baking under the sun. There is definitely a sharp iodine scent that makes your throat burn, almost like a disinfectant. And boy does it linger... And after 6 or more hours pass, like a magic that dirty sea water scent transforms into an amazing and gentle flower scent.
