Tapis Volant

Such a unique fragrance and truly hard to describe. It’s unlike any perfume I’ve tried, yet smells familiar in a way. What comes to mind is flipping through a late 90s edition of vogue, with a light mix of the different perfume samples dancing under pages of freshly printed magazine paper. It’s also soapy and fresh. It also feels like a much nicer version of something from Prada’s “infusion d’ —“ line. I tried infusion d’iris years ago and I know it smells different than this, but similarly is light, airy, soapy, and classy. The iris here in TV fades within the first hour, along with the icy notes, and transforms into an intoxicating spicy lightly floral and fresh drydown that has me sniffing myself all day. I’d agree with the review below saying it’s similar to a molecule scent, but the molecule scents can be tricky for me, disappearing and reappearing, occasionally turning too synthetic. This doesn’t have any of those problems. It smells expensive and light, like some Guerlain flowery sweet soapy powdery classics I’ve sampled in the past. It’s essentially a strong skin scent type of fragrance but it lasts and continues to perform through the day, seemingly getting better. I blind bought because I’m collecting Quentin Bisch fragrances, and this scent is exactly the reason why-I never heard of this line before. I probably wouldn’t have cared for it if I tested it in the store as it would seem to light, simple, and soapy for me. However, by being and impulsive dummy who blind buys bottles like this and is forced to properly try them out, I keep discovering over and over a little bit of magic in every QB scent that makes me fall deeply in love with them. In Tapis Volant, it’s definitely in the drydown. I’d definitely recommend this, though it isn’t like anything popular I’ve come across and has little in common with many of the hottest scents these days, so if you’re picky or only want girly sweet scents like Delina or La Belle, you probably are going to hate this and should test first. If you love a lot of different types of perfumes and enjoy smelling different than everyone around you, then give this a proper wearing. Smells better on skin than tester paper. Also bought “Desert Suave” by Quentin Bisch under this line which is a completely different scent, also unlike anything else I’ve tried, also fell in love with that one. Another blind buy success!

UGH. Sooooo buttery and fluffy and almost edible. Not at all what I'd expect from the notes, though. I don't even get "iris", at least not the dry powdery makeup-y iris. This iris is fleshy, slightly woody, slightly sweet and very fluffy. Earthy and rooty and delicious too. Very barely sweet in a tonka bean-y way. THIS is what I wanted Fleur de Peau to smell like. Vibe: This has the texture of wholesome, homestead dreams Projection: Soft Longevity: Average Polarity: Unisex to slightly feminine Occasion: This is a non-offensive scent (if a bit weird because it almost smells edible), so pretty much anywhere.

When I first tested this perfume, I did not really know what to think. Is it fruity? Sweet? Inky? I was not very impressed, and put the tester in a drawer. Some weeks later I tried it again, and this was a different story. The ink was replaced with a chalky note,some sweetness appeared and it made me think of white snow and really cold days. Third time I fell in love, really hard. This is a weird one,it appears a little bit different each time, both soft and freezing cold,chalky but not powdery. Sweet,but then not sweet. I love it.

This smells simple yet complex, clean but soft, it is a chameleon but I have yet to find a part that I don't love. Inoffensive and beautiful. I agree with most of the reviews but wanted to note then when people say chalky or dusty, there is nothing in this that tickles my nose or throat. It is smooooth! Big love!

A beautiful perfume, a refined and nocturnal iris. In the distance a shy jasmine blends with cold spices... giving the perfume an aura of mystery and "cold", a good feeling! Scent of impact, spectacular! I love it! Sillage: 7./10 Longevity: 8.5/10 Scent: 8.5/10 Overall: 8.5/10

This needs a bit of time on the skin because it opens as a super powdery iris, but it settles quickly into a creamy, lactonic sandalwood that shares something with Blanche Bete. It smells like what a sweet dream would smell like.

For me it is not a iris but a jasmine perfume, normally jasmin gives me headaches but fortunately not this one, it is very soft, however lasts very very long...

This is a dusty iris with a faint tartness. If chalk had a subtle floral scent (attn: chalk makers?! this sound amazing?) and then you clapped those erasers, I feel like it would evoke something similar to what I am getting. It's so dusty and I am intrigued; yeah, erasers clapping, blowing the dust off an old book, all of those visuals, but make it iris (at least in the opening). As an iris lover, this was the first one in the collection I was drawn to, but on skin I am not blown away, just very pleased. It's very likeable, has a great chalky iris opening, one I would compare it to something like Iris Rebelle from Atelier, but with more jasmine. Sadly for my taste preferences, the iris fades about 15 minutes in, and what you're left with is a really a soft, slightly citrus, jasmine that doesn't feel clean per se, but is definitely not indolic either. Nice, not groundbreaking.

A flight on a magical carpet under moonlight. It's a light, ethereal white floral with a hint of opulence beneath the surface. It's primarily a jasmine fragrance, with iris giving the jasmine a cooler, bluish hue. The opening carries a slightly rubbery, synthetic nuance, but it soon subsides, and I think it can even be interpreted as a hint of "carpet smell," tying in with the fragrance's name. It has a smooth texture and a floaty feel, yet still retains structure and depth, carrying warm, woody, spicy nuances. The brand describes this flight as solar and golden, but to me it's dreamy and moonlit.

This is an interesting one... It took me multiple wearings to really understand the whole composition & now I truly see the meaning behind it's name! I think I was partly noseblind to it for the first 2 days, as it can happen with molecular type of scents. In my opinion, an all year round easy reach floral with sparkly citruses made in a molecular airy style. Lightweight, multifaceted sparkly iris :) Imagine you're floating in ice cold water with iris, jasmine, lily of the valley, white lilacs and bergamot slices. So now, as a true Liquides connoisseur, I can completely agree with @vanillabeanshampoo that this is definitely an ancestor of Blanche Bête. Reading the reviews, I expected much more iris powder - something fluid, weightless, and perhaps more cosmetic-like - but on my skin it behaves more like a lighter, less lactonic version of BB. Still, it’s a very interesting scent: wearable year-round and surprisingly versatile. I also get strong jasmine notes. In fact, I’d call it a multipurpose fragrance - suitable for almost any occasion, from a business meeting to a late-night outing.

Blanche Bete is having a baby with Fleur de Peau. Think of BB's milky creamy sandalwood mixed with the powdery carrot-y floral scent of Fleur de Peau. The result is a very pretty light floral scent over a slightly spicy velvety warm base. The sandalwood behaves here as in Ex Nihilo's Santal Calling: creamy and velvety but aslo a little cold. It doesn't project much, stays intimate. Very pretty, quite different from all those perfum-y profile of the market. Pleasant, elegant, a little nostalgic. Smells indeed like a magic flying carpet from some oriental tale.

Very interesting fragrance. Violet and iris fragrances are dime a dozen, but as someone who likes iris a lot, I appreciate that the violet never takes over the composition. The drydown reminds me of a few "shampooey" fragrances like MFK Aqua Universalis as well as - a shocker - Prada Luna Rossa Black and the related fragrances.

My first impression was that it’s really pretty, but smells too mature for me at 36. I’m not a fan of spices or powdery notes so I’m sure that plays into my perception. But then a few hours later I was truly wowed by the drydown. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully blended and balanced with a touch of sweetness.

Opens with a light Iris and then turns into a clean soap. This is safe for almost any professional environment where perfumes are frowned upon. Those around will think you just showered if they even notice it. Soft skin scent. I was going to declutter but I’ll keep it as I can wear this to work.

This opens with an inky iris-tonka combination, however I found this quickly settles down into something similar to Body Kouros. I'm a fan of the scent, but BK has better performance on me.

This smells like soapy clean, spicy jasmine. Nothing mind-blowing, but very nice and elegant. Smells like a clean, rich, older woman (in the best way). Smells like moneyyyy

I’m a big fan of iris notes so was anxiously awaiting trying this. Finally pulled the plug and ordered a sample and I have to say, I’m torn. My complaint is that in the opening, for the first half hour or so, there’s a kind of plasticky or rubber note that takes over the entire fragrance. When I first tried it I thought “thank god I didn’t blind buy the full bottle”. However, after an hour or so it dries down to a really beautiful scent that reminds me of Chowards Violet Mints. It smells like how I’d imagine the color purple to smell. It’s light, fluffy, and very different from any of the other violet perfumes I own. I’m just not sure if I can get past that initial opening.

Sparkling clean soap, its pretty soft in terms of projection. Forgettable which is my least favorite thing in perfumery association: pristine white shirt, bare face after an excessive routine, silk cap on a freshly washed and blown-out hair

Based on the notes the perfume should be a delight. It took me couple of days to form an opinion. I absolutely love Blanche Bete so I thought to try this one. The scent isn’t bad itself but must be individual intolerance. Something makes me gag about this one. I had to remove it from my wrist and still have an awful memory. I’d suggest to test before buying. I love all the notes normally but something is very off putting here. Feeling nauseous even writing about it 😂. Humans am I right?

Not unlike a finely milled Tuscan hand soap crossed with my preferred Lidl laundry liquid. I’m sorry but for the price this is a woefully poor dissertation on the nature of olfactory banality. Tested from a sample.

I tried a lot to love this perfume, but unfortunately I find it to be one of the worst perfumes I have ever smelled To my nose I smell naphthalene with cumin and a hint of iris .

This is a really interesting fragrance. I’ve tried a ton of violet and iris-based scents (they're everywhere) but as someone who really enjoys iris, I like how the violet here stays in the background and doesn’t overpower the whole thing. The drydown actually gives me strong “clean shampoo” vibes reminds me a bit of MFK Aqua Universalis, and oddly enough, even Prada Luna Rossa Black. Total surprise there. Kind of like when I ordered a rug from RugsUSA didn’t expect much, but it completely changed the vibe of my space in the best way. Same feeling with this scent: subtle, clean, and quietly impressive.

Very prominent Iris (Oris root) and Vetiver scent. The opening is slightly leathery to my nose. Tonka bean adds a tad of sweetness, roundness I might say, to the bitterness of the iris. I can see a slight resemblance to Sicily by D&G in the sense that the opening of TV reminds me of the drydown of Sicily. As TV dries down it mellows some more and leans more towards Sicily. Traveling on a flying carpet, riding the lightness of the air, smelling the aromas of the world below us... this is Tapis Volant. It is a very delicate fragrance, which sees a dusty Iris with jasmine mixed with spices. It almost seems like an abstract, ephemeral idea, a dream. Personally I didn't find it very original, nor was I impressed: for my tastes I find it too evanescent and too little distinctive. I definitely prefer other releases of this brand

Beautiful, pastel purple buttery iris, not lipsticky, some signiture waxiness of iris but it doesn’t smell like lipstick. The sillage is great, a fluffy light purple beautiful cloud that lingers nicely, so feminine and it smells like it’s made with great quality ingredients. No complaints.

Fragrantica doesn’t have all the notes listed per LI website. This fragrance also has aldehydes, carrot seed notes, ambrofix, musk, Vetiver, etc. To me, this is a clean & cold Iris scent. It’s complex and comforting. Silage is moderate and an easy reach for winter/spring.

My sample may have been off. I was looking forward to sampling this because I am an iris lover, but I got a strong note of burned rubber for the first five minutes. After that it softens to a woody iris and bergamot, but doesn't seem to be anything revolutionary.

Spicy sage sandalwood. Spices, lime, sage, and sandalwood. Nothing else, & nothing unusual. I'm not shocked how their blends now became quite like drugstore cheapos, the company is already sold.

On my skin it's pure soap. But a very expensive luxury one. I don't get any sweetness or spices, just powdery soapiness that lasts for a long time. I like it

White musk with fresh citrus, light jasmine, Iris, and sandalwood touch. reminds me somewhat 1957 of Chanel.
