Tumultu

These days I'm more into woody, powdery and creamy fragrances. And Tumultu ticks all the boxes as this is a beautiful creamy and powdery sandalwood-coconut heavy fragrance with a citrusy opening. I get a smokey vibe from it as well but it's not overpowering at all. The blending is beautiful but not too much complex. Mostly you'll notice the Sandalwood, Coconut and Cedar Wood. This was undoubtedly my best purchase of 2024! 🖤 This fragrance creates a huge scent bubble and leaves a mysterious scent trail. Longevity is around 8 - 10 hours, but on clothes this lasts more than 10 - 12 hours easily and the leftover fragrance stays till you wash your clothes (especially on woolen fabrics). On the website they have explained the fragrance perfectly; "Let us take you on a journey back to the era of Egypt, Greece, Turkey, Mesopotamia, Asia, and the Roman Empire. Experience the allure of the mystical past with Tumultu and transport yourself to the luxurious surroundings of Cleopatra's bath, where she indulged in her famous milk and honey baths. Indulge in its carnal and sensual essence, infused with soft spices and sandalwood, and let it carry you away to a state of relaxation and sensuality." I couldn't agree more as this fragrance will actually make you feel like an Egyptian or Greek Royalty. Tumultu smells sensual and mysterious! 🖤 But if you don't love sandalwood then you're not going to enjoy this fragrance. Also, please note the coconut is not like coconut oil. It's more like creamy thick coconut milk. So, if you love unique, elegant and seductive woody fragrances then you're going to love Tumultu. It's Dark, Mysterious, Alluring and Seductive! 🖤

I recived a free sample with an order from essenza nobile and I love it so far. It starts of a bit spicy on my skin, but after only few minutes the coconut becomes the dominating note and is very intensive but not overhelming like in Creed virgin island water, after an hour or so the wood notes really starts to dominate over the coconut note and the parfume really gets good for real. I will test it further before I deside if I should buy a full botle, but so far I think I will.

Nice creamy/sweet sandalwood with support of cedar, and likely also incense. The best part is the opening, but afterwards it just is an already seen before sandalwood accord. Nice, will do the job, but not utterly quintessential for whom already own a couple of sandalwood centric fragrances.

Very pleasing smooth scent.creamy sandalwood and woody slightly incensy in the base. Kinda milky creamy woody scent which relaxing and exqusite.I cant understand negative comments cuz its not bad scent at all but very nice fragrance.thumbs up for me.

I've been looking for a nice, simple, creamy sandalwood and this mostly fits the bill. It sometimes leans a little more cedary than sandalwood but I'm overall liking it. I'm less certain about the opening which does give a lot more of the cedar (i'm assuming iso e super) and a sour citrus note that doesn't quite read "pomelo" to me. Still, I find it mostly pleasant and I really like the drydown. The coconut adds a nice creaminess to the woods and I appreciate that it doesn't turn to playdoh like coconut sometimes can.

Another beautiful and ethereal creation by Liquides Imaginaires with great versatility and pleasant smell. It feels better for summer/spring imo. Main note which is builded this scent is a combo of sandalwood/cedarwood (which gives a tiny woody smoky note pinch) with the additions of mild coconut, smooth grapefruit and soft patchouli. Simple and beautiful. Performance is moderate overal.

This opens up so strong with a potent Marijuana bud that I was quite surprised to not see it in the pyramid. Hence my initial impression that it resembles somewhat Black Afgano. Alas, within a minute it settles down to soft spicy woods/sandalwood with incence-y undertones. More on the masculine side, modest projection. Not a head turner or too original just wearable, cozy scent.

I don't think I like the combination of cedar and citrus, I've decided that now. Cedar already has its own woody and citrusy scent. It's not nice to squeeze lemon on top of it. The hero of the scent is sandalwood, but it takes a long time to get there :( But when you get; it is so smooth and lovely! I wish I had good longevity.

The first few seconds are a bit too patchouli-heavy to my nose. After that it turns into a beautiful, warm sandalwood and cedar combination. I would absolutely love this if patchouli didn't smell like cat pee to me :((

Since the reviews below are a bit too fragmented i will attempt to make it more comprehensive and organic sinc i agree with most of them. First of all this is a very simplistic fragrance, this is something you will enjoy if you like brands such as molecule or the magnetic blends of INITIO, speaking of withc it totally reminds me of magnetic blend N7. So what do you get inside this fragrance ? Really not much to be fair, skip the whole note list brakedown, this has only 2/3 notes. Musk, a wood accord (i would say probably iso e super) and maybe a bit of cashmerean. The musk in here is not the sweet and fluffy type, instead is very animalic and even a bit harsh in the opening. To most this would be a bad sign, instead to me it just signify that it has probably real musk in it witch is a quite expensive material to work with. in here there is not a single ounce of either patchouly coconut or pomelo and there is defenetely a wood note but it's not sandalwood unfortunately. Instead this fragrance comes across as neutral neither sweet nor harsh, but defenetely animalic so not for everybody. The projection is very disappointing, although i think this was made on purpose, I think the whole concept of this creation is to be unoffensive, intimate. This doesn't give ti the WOW effect but still is something you would like to consider if you are in search of a minimalistic fragrance. All and all i would give this a 6.7/10 a bit disappointing for both longevity and a lack of creativity imo. Still not bad by any means

🥛 Silent Tumult 🪵 A white marble bath flooded with morning sun. The water is cloudy with cool coconut milk: thick, but devoid of sweetness. Pomelo appears for only a split second, like a drop of juice dissolved in a vast vat, then vanishes instantly into the milky steam. On the dried body, only a transparent afterimage remains: a cool trace of sandalwood that has melted into the skin. There is no soap here, only a creamy, woody intimacy that seeps directly into the weave of a linen shirt. The scent plays hide-and-seek: vanishing into its folds, only to suddenly return hours later as a warm echo. They promised a tumult, but gave the quietest intimacy in the world. Opens with a synthetic woody cedar note akin to Molecule 01, and incense. Reading the notes pyramid I was excited to experience the pomelo and coconut combination, but unfortunately on me there is no pomelo to be found. It dries down to a more mellow version of the opening, with a creamy sandalwood addition. All in all it feels like a stronger version of Molecule 01 with mild smoky incense and creamy sandalwood added. Tumultu would suit Iso E Super lovers who are looking for something a little bit extra. If you love Molecule 01 or Not A Perfume and don't mind smoky notes, give Tumultu a try.

This is a bit of a unique one, but not super complex. It's like if you go up and take a big whiff of a super dry cedar stack. Very dry and woody, but not overbearing or thick either- this could work on a summer night or in cooler weather as well. There's a simple classiness to Tumultu. Due to the woodiness this leans masculine to me, but overall it's unisex. I don't get any coconut - the coconut may be there to add a touch of creaminess but I would never say that this is a coconut scent.

It starts with a very tart pomelo note and then transitions to a creamy, buttery sandalwood. Overall, it is a citrus-herbal fragrance with hints of coconut and sandalwood. It is quite pleasant and safe, but at the same time uninspiring and, in the end, barely perceptible. If you are looking for a more prominent coconut milk scent, you won't find it here.

SHOCKED that there is no vetiver in here, this feels like a puckery, tart acidic citrus blended with an arid vetiver. I feel like I am smelling Kumquat and Vetiver to be more specific. It makes the back of my mouth water and my jaw stiffen whenever I smell it. It's weird and I like it.

Tumultu was not as tumultuous as I was expecting. It is a simplistic, woody fragrance. I did not get even a whiff of coconut or bergamot. To me, it was a straightforward, masculine, woody scent, albeit a nice one.

Accidentally bought a decant. Smells exactly like the drydown of HoS passion l'amor on me with a hint of silly putty

Lemony-Coco sandalwood composition , already done better by other brands. flat and boring

I keep being disappointed by this house― I don't know why I'm so determined to keep trying and find one I like. Before I took the sample out of its baggy, I smelled javanol immediately. Javanol is polarizing to my nose― I love it, loving catching a whiff of it out and about, but it can quickly become too much. I prefer it when it's expertly blended dancing amongst other notes, so that it doesn't cause fatigue. It's a little citrusy in the opening, and reminds me of Molecule 04. I want to compare them side-by-side sometime. It mellows out faster than Molecule 04― the javanol bomb relaxes into something more balanced and wearable, until a mossy mildew-y note emerges in the drydown.

After sampling Bloody Wood about a year ago I had not high but above average hopes for this. I usually don't write a review after one wearing but this one is a very simple scent. It is creamy and milky with a light citrus touch. As a matter of fact the whole composition is light! It smells good but nothing really stands out. I feel it would be better on a female as this is too subtle for my taste. I could see it being signature worthy for the right woman who is confident and discreet especially since the prices have been dropping quite a bit. Longevity is no more than 4 hours with sillage being very soft. But then again it might lasts longer for you so I would suggest sampling.

This is unfortunately one that fulfills the accusation that Les Liquides Imaginaires is cheap perfume in an expensive bottle. Terrible overused synthetic woody accord obliterates everything. There are much nicer ones in this line. Edit: I also forget sometimes that I am super-sensitive to these kinds of woody ambers and they tend to obliterate anything else in a composition (to my nose). So perhaps there is more to this than I am able to smell. 2 out of 5.

I was hoping for a pomelo note. I did not get that at all. The cedar is more pronounced than sandalwood, quite linear in its wear. But if you enjoy cedar-centered fragrances - go for it. It is more of cedar shaving for me, it leans more masculine and for that reason, I will be Selling it. Quite a steep pricepoint though... 100ml /180€

I love the color of the perfume, but the love stops there. This is running on a stock synthetic sandalwood (a lot of it, which means its going to be on you for a while) over a lactonic, cedar-and-citrus kind of effect. It’s obviously supposed to seem milky, but it’s doing too many things at the outset to carry the effect well. It does settle after a few minutes into something more pleasingly delicate, but it’s lacking solidity overall — it smells like ebanol and Iso E and that’s about it. Like others in the line, this scent comes across as rushed, cheap, and cartoonish — which is a shame, as the basic concept (a milky skin musk) seems like it has legs.

at the start, you get that sandalwood/coconut/citrus combo, and then slowly, the citrus dies, then the coconut kinda fades, then you're left with sandalwood and what is an aromachemical (seriously, i forget which is iso e and which is amboxan, one or the other). it's not really evolving or dynamic, moreso a series of key notes fading. i've come to realise that when you see 'cedar' as an ingredient, what perfumers really mean is iso e, which is a pain, i guess, because they smell the same just like grape chewing gum tastes like grape. anyway. it smells really nice and pretty but a bit too sweet for my tastes...

To start off I am a big fan of many fragrances from this house, but there is something missing from this one. I won't say it smells bad. It smells good! Very sour and citrusy for about 5 minutes. It does have a citronella feel to it before it mellows out into the base notes. Coconut is mild, and I have to agree with others this is a very linear perfume. Not a fragrance I could see most people wearing. Maybe somebody who loves to go camping. Overall, you won't miss out on anything if you skip this one. Worth smelling if you can. Very meh.

A disturbing vapour that invites abandon. 騷 凍 Not loud, confused scented water, neglected by a mass of people, careless whisper, hide and seek on your skin, some white milk, maybe. If you have either cedar or santal essential oils take a very light touch, these two are different but it doesn't matter when come to Tumultu, and you have experienced. No sillage surprising long lasting (on my pillow) un huh.

Fruitti woody light fragrance. It has sandalwood, cedar, more wood notes (mostly birch), pineapples, slight melon, and puffs coconut. I could consider this blend as a slightly summer fragrance somehow only if there weren't that much of woods in there. The only thing that intercedes for this perfume is the coconut note that plays a major role in this sandalwood base blend, it just hoovers around screaming freshness, sun lotion, and somehow happiness. Only if there were 30 ml or even 50 ml of this, i might consider a bottle.

Herbs/ spices, woods and a sweet fruit in the background. A creamy vibe to it (maybe sandalwood). I definitely would not blind buy this. Definitely would not wear this out but it will last hours on the skin, although I washed it off before it disappeared. Very Masculine but not something I would want to smell on a man. Jurassic Park 2.0. A much smoother version of T-Rex. If you found T-Rex too much but like that smell, this is a good direction to go.

A dry, linear sandalwood and a long lasting skin scent highlighted by tart pomelo and tangy cedar and is much like D.S. & Durga's Radio Bombay but without the copper note. Coconut and patchouli are barely perceptible to my nose. Good summer fragrance for repelling mosquitoes and ticks. Unisex. Bottle and packaging are impressive. ✨

Tumultu opens with a fresh citrusy, vaguely fruity accord to then quickly turn into a dry patch / cedarwood combo which feels too accomplished to be considered bad but, at the same time, really too common to justify the hefty price tag they ask for. Not bad but absolutely forgettable if you ask me. Rating: 6/10

I don't know why, but it smells like a cardboard box to me. I know it is from the scent of sandalwood and the chemical cedarwoods (like iso-e-super-thing) added the feeling (texture) of the box, which is rough and grain-like. and coconut. Does it mean coconut shell?

I found it to be very fresh and bright. I don’t remember smelling the coconut note distinctly but it was pleasant. Seems like it has a rather regular projection, not too invasive but not intimate either. Cute for the spring/summer.

Opens up very sharp and citrusy almost sour with a slight tinge of coconut. And dries down to a dry sandalwood skin scent. Doesn’t project or last as long on my skin. Definitely not something I like or would reach for.

Is it weird that this reminds me of Eidesis by Aesop? (But more intense and cedar forward). I do not get the coconut/powdery breakdown as listed.

A faint smell of sandalwoody coconut. Smells natural but nothing special. Not worth even half the asking price. Like & pass.
