Mon Amie La Rose

I’ve only recently become familiar with Les Parfums de Rosie, and I decided to wear one of the higher rated fragrances from this house as an ode to Marie-Helene Rogeon, the perfumery owner and who I read on Fragrantica died recently. Condolences to the family. My assessment: Mon Amie is a pretty aquatic rose perfume, easy to wear and mixed well. Bamboo is dominant in the opening, then tea and other green notes appear in the dry down. This scent never gets close to the “swamp water” that other floral aquatic scents with Lotus can go (insert happy dance here). The opening freshness quality reminds me of Cartier’s Carat perfume. If you like realistic floral scents, Mon Amie should be something on your test list.

What I love, love, love about this composition is the pear note. It's detectable from start to finish and lends this fragrance a youthful, upbeat vibe. This is a fresh green rose, certainly, but I have never been able to detect the base notes. One of the reasons for that is it suffers from short longevity. And that means the base notes aren't doing their job. I'm working my way through the sample set of this house, and this is my first fragrance. Time will tell where this ranks.

Very pleasing fruity rose with lots of soft greens and some tea that gives that slight edge. It is much in the same category as for example Arden's Green Tea but Mon Amie is more floral and lush. It's the perfect relaxed summer scent. The lasting power is surprisingly good for this type of fragrance, I could still find traces after 8 hrs.
