Rose des Neiges

Rose des Neige is the one I have been looking for. The Snow Rose. The delicately mentholated coolness of snowflakes touching your face is delightful, magical and this perfume captures that feeling through scent. The watery freshness in the opening of Rose des Neige is not sharp or crisp but gentle, just like the fluffy cool tingle of snowflakes on your eyelashes. As the perfume goes a long you get a garden of roses, violets and heliotropes that has been caught off guard by the falling snow. The snow has stunted the blooms of spring and crystalized the garden in pale shades of pink, blue, and lilac. A garden frozen in time, in memory. The snow blends w/ the flowers and creates a cooling white halo of musk that fills the air. It is like a snow musk, cool, floral but not floral. A hybrid of the scent of snow and flowers. This perfume is the smell of my dreams. A world where flowers and snow create a magical wonderland. The blending of my 2 favorite seasons winter and spring. The breathless beauty of both will live on in my imagination every time I wear this lovely and intimate perfume. Edit:1/11/23 Wearing this today after testing it yesterday I totally stand by my review. But this was a type of perfume I was looking for. A frozen flower garden, snow musk. Do not blind buy this like I did, which for this price point was stupid but I did find a company called Beautyhabit.com that sends you samples of the high-end perfume you blind buy so you can smell it w/out opening the bottle. If you don't like the perfume, you can send the unopened bottle back for a refund, so that did negate some of the risk for me. Rose des Neige is a very conceptual type of perfume, not traditional at all, very niche in its execution. If you want something that smells like frozen flowers, ice and snow musk, like the smell of the feeling of snow falling on your eyelashes while you watch it fall on freshly bloomed flowers that is what it feels, and smells like to me. Try before you buy. Some reviewers on other sites said it is more like a méringue. My husband thinks it smells like softly powdered peppermint patties (he likes it) But this is a very interesting and unique perfume, a true original in my large collection.

The scent of an ice queen Ice cold clean air, the snowflakes that have just fallen to the ground are like white crystalline powder. Breathing feels mentholated, eyelashes are covered with frozen snowflakes. The frozen flowers in the garden begin to thaw. The scent of the petals mingles with the icy water. It’s like dewy Roses, White Violet and Heliotrope. The snowflakes are melting on your eyelashes. There is a subtle sweetness it the air. The weather gets warmer, the water begins to evaporate as the spring sun warms and the air softens. The flower petals dry and crumble into a silky soft baby blue powder which covers slowly your feet. The air is gentle, pure and fresh, it’s still cool but not icy and mentholated anymore. Rose des Neiges is a dreamy and fairytale like perfume. It’s like the scent of an ice queen, curls of hair full of stardust and powder snow scented with flowers. This is how it smells. TOP Lychee, Mandarin orange, Pink pepper, Watermelon HEART Rose, Rose absolute, White violet BASE Musk, Heliotrope, Ambroxan, Sandalwood This is very unique powdery perfume and as with all Rosines, Ambroxan doesn’t bother me at all and doesn’t bring any unpleasant synthetic aroma. Strong "like" for this one. It does remind me very much of Anna Sui, which was my signature a long time ago before they reformulated it. Rose des Neiges is heavy on violet, musk and heliotrope. It's quite powdery. I didn't notice any fruity notes, and I find it to be heavier on violet than rose. This is a great fragrance for those who like those soft, powdery, boudoir fragrances. It reminds me of Ballerina No. 1, but not as fruity, not as fresh, more powdery plus a lot more violet. But they are both soft and innocent fragrances. This should have been part of the Ballerina series as it makes me think more of a ballerina than of winter. A great choice for an evening at the Nutcracker Ballet. I just remembered! This reminds me of Moonlight Path by B&BW, like a much nicer version of it. Update Dec 2019: I did wear it to the Nutcracker last night, and it was the perfect choice! With a dab of Bengale Rouge by Papillon in a slightly different spot, it added a honey nougat-like scent that gave this even more depth as it wafted to my nose. Just a suggestion ;)

Beautiful, sweet, delicate, powdery, like the snowflakes that fall on a winter-blooming flower, Rose des Neiges is truly an icy concoction. The combination of rose and violet are metallic and cutting on my skin. If Insolence did not smell the way it did, it would smell like this. This is an ice princess ballerina dancing with her final breath. EDIT: I've been wondering what it was about this scent profile was so familiar - it reminds me of my beloved Narciso Rouge EDT (probably the closest I've gotten to a signature scent). The sharp and sweet rosy musk is shared between both the scents, though Rose des Neiges is more delicate with violet and more powdery. The Narciso is much more casual to me, Rose des Neiges is a clean and fragile scent that can easily be muddled by the wearer's sweat, unclean clothes, or unkemptness.

This is one of the newest additions to my Collection, and I think it is simply lovely, but then again I am a massive rose fan, so no surprise there.. Roses des Neiges is pretty true to it's name. A light, cool wintery rose that is just as good to wear in summer, spring or fall as it is on a winter day. The heliotrope and violet adds some powderiness to the scent.The pink pepper adds a bit of a sting and the fruity notes makes it a bit more summery. Even if this is very new to me it has been a compliment magnet at work. After only wearing it a few times I have got four people asking me where they can buy this lovely perfume. Longevity is medium and the bottle, well it is cute, and stylish at the same time. Love everything blue and everything with tassles, haha.

I purchased this because fragrantica member LSAUG recommended it to me, and I love it. She knows rose perfumes!! 🌹 Rose de Neiges is beautiful; it smells cold and soft. Immediately, I think of being under a freshly-laundered down comforter on a blizzarding morning. Reminiscent of Parabole, Ombre Rose or Bistro de Chantilly with its old-fashioned rose and heliotrope powder. But modern with the fruit and ambroxan (tiny dose). I'm not getting watermelon, but it does smell watery! So interesting. p.s. I also bought Love Chopard on her recommendation. No regrets!! 💐

Fizzy lychee soda mixed with vintage makeup powder. There is some sort of charm to this scent and I love the juxtaposition of young (fruity sweetness) and old (grandma's makeup powder). It's a lovely scent and I love my bottle! The cap feels very cheap though, the only complaint i have.

The first time when I tested it I've been really worried about the heliotrope note, because it can trigger my migraine. However, Rose des Neiges only contains a really slight amount of heliotrope, so it's totally safe to me. It's a very light, close-to-skin type of rose scent with a soft touch of powdery silkiness. It's really charming!

To me this is very similar to Fredric Malle's Iris Poudre. Cool florals on top of a warm musky base. Stays close to the skin.

A lovely powdery floral, along the same vein as bvlgari’s BLV Notte. That sweet baby powder scent with a slight hint of spice, although this doesn’t contain the vodka and chocolate notes, there are similarities upon dry down. The opening fruit notes are a bit lost on me, as it seems to me to go straight to the sweet powdery violet and heliotrope with the rose underlying the composition throughout the longevity. Amber and sandalwood impart a cosy warmth, which gives this fragrance a snuggly feeling. A fragrance that would be equally nice straight out of the bath, given its powdery scent and also in cooler months to cosy up underneath a blanket. I wouldn’t mind a bottle of this when my BLV notte runs out. Longevity and Sillage are moderate.

I was hoping for a bit more oomph. The opening is a bit unpleasant but that dies down and it is soft and pretty but then becomes very faint. It's a safe feminine fragrance in a gorgeous bottle but not a headturner. Up close, really up close, it's pretty. Good for times when you will be in an airplane, elevator, doctor's office and don't want to assault people! I was hoping to feel enveloped by it but that is not the case for me. Still better than Secret de Rose which is so secret that I can barely smell it on myself.I prefer Villoresi Teint de Neige for "snow" themed frags.

Snow Rose is a perfect name for such an icy fragrance. There no fruitiness at all, just a slight watery feeling at the beginning and I’m surprised nobody till now made the connection with true Love E.A! The same cold almost metallic purple smell, refreshing and bitter to my nose. It becomes more and more powdery, talcum-like, in the dry down. There is no tenderness in the perfume. But the clear coldness is beautiful and can even be comforting in its own clean way. I will wear it, but my quest for a tender and maternal rose still goes.

Very light, very soft and totally unimpressive...like it is really for lovers of clean light scents..I cant say it isnt nice, but it is so bland in a way..the bottle is lovely, but the juice has been done a million times already!?"
