Rose Praline

I do not understand why this is called Rose Praline. Perhaps it's my skin chemistry but that's just a misleading name! Firstly, rose is just in the background, and I don't get pralines from this at all. Having said that, this is a very delish fragrance! When I sprayed this on, my mind screamed "Chai tea!" It is immediately spicy and warm and a little sweet, so reminiscent of my favourite chai tea latte from Starbucks. There's a tiny tiny bit of a reddish rose, but it's mostly drowned in a sea of spices (especially the wonderful cardamom!), which turns out, isn't such a bad thing at all. A spice-coated chocolate slowly emerges, and it's very well-rounded. I think of it as rolling a piece of chocolate around in your mouth just after you've had a sip of chai tea. It starts of as an almost milk chocolate before becoming darker. Positively yummy. The rose only properly takes centre-stage right at the end, when a little more sweetness shows through. It's contrasted by the now bitter chocolate on a background of spices. It's a pity it took 4 hours for this to finally happen and for it to end up sitting so close to the skin at this stage, because it really is quite pretty. Projection wasn't very strong, but still noticeable for the most part. Lasted around 5.5 hours on me.

I don't think it's an oriental-vanilla, more floral-woody or aromatic. I agree if you choose this scent because of your sweet-tooth you'll be disappointed. Is there any chocolate here? I don't know...but there is a lot of tea, rose and cardamom with a hint of musk. On my skin the first 1-2 hour is very similar to Bvlgari Eau Parfumée au The Vert Extreme, later it becomes more warm and musky. I can say if you like that one, you like roses and musk, and you want a more feminin version for colder weather, maybe RP is for you. Sillage is average and it lasts 4-5 hour on my skin. I like this one but don't like musk too much, so I'll stay with BEPATVE...

hmmmmmmm I smell good enough to eat! I got a sample of this and the matching body cream from surrender to chance and it is divine. Beautiful creamy, warm and gourmand sweet rose. Longevity was great, I could still smell the delicious dry down 5 hrs after first application. It won't be possible for me to buy this in my country but I am going to really enjoy wearing my sample in our cooler weather. I love it.

Starts out a bit pungent (perhaps due to the bergamot notes?), eases into something warm, soft, and sweet without being nauseating, like cardamom and chocolate tea. For me, the cardamom lingers, which is a delight. Oddly, the rose disappears quite quickly, so rose devotees might be disappointed. I wish i can pull this off even in balmy summer because i love it so much. An elegant gourmand scent.

Love it! Love it! And LOVE it! I’ve many Rosine perfumes that I liked a lot, and this is the best ever! Chocolate with rose, the best combination. And it lasts for a long time, more than 8 hours, and it projects also very well on my skin. It makes me smile and smell myself all day long.

Neither fresh nor clean, Rose Praline is a sweet rose compared with the other Rosine scents. The juicier notes of bergamont are immediate; no cocoa, no vanilla, though a hint of musk breaks through the brighter green notes, giving ROSE PRALINE a warmer characteristic. When asked, my kindergartener children tell me this smells, "Yummy, like candy. Good, like you." There is no mention of flowers or chocolate. A sweet scent, though not gourmand in a vanilla batter way, ROSE PRALINE reminds me of BLV (the blue bottle of the Bvulgari brand). I think it's the lingering musk that reminds me of BLV, and, now it dawns on me, HONEY! ROSE PRALINE smells like honey roses, served with a bright green tea. Perhaps that's where the Praline name comes in. This is a honeyed rose that manages to smell like honey without smelling of urine (as many honey scents have a tendency to do).

I read a review about this niche line of fragrances and went to their website to see if I could get samples. Voila! I recvd the 15 sample packet, and ordered the remaining six. I am in love with them all, and look forward to trying a new one or two each day! So far, my favorite is 'Rose Kashmirie'-very soothing and cozy. the fragrance lingered all evening, a constant companion! Am wearing this one now. The cacao is interesting, but not too noticeable, I have to put my nose to my wrist to sense it. It is not my favorite, but I would wear it again. Is not a strong oriental, nor a gourmand, but an unusual floral, for me.

If you're expecting sweet and gourmand perfume you'll definitely be disappointed. Rose Praline opens with deadly cold rose + tea combo, it's not the cold rose I usually fall in love with, it's more like a soapy bulgarian rose I'm not so fond off. Anyhow, soon it's followed by weird mix of chocolate and spices (I believe those come from carnation). It's good, but there is something that doesn't work well. The tea + rose is ok and the chocolate with spices is ok, but put together it just doesn't work. For me at least no.

True bliss this perfume is! It is a perfume built around rose, an interpretation of this beautiful flower, so you can't miss the rose, no matter what! It starts with a fresh, crispy rose aroma, then it develops into a much more complex scent, sensuous and very gourmand, a bit sugary and exotic as well. it is very long-lasting and I would wear it during any time of the year. In this perfume, the rose really does tell a story...and it is one of a young, modern, gutsy lady!!

Sweet, sticky, with some sharp bergamot at the open that keeps it from being cloying. Too sweet for me to wear on a regular basis, but it's very charming and easy to love.

I am a bit disappointed by Rose Praline, as I thought it would be a more chocolaty rose scent, but the notes I smell here the most are tea-notes. At the beginning it feels refreshing, I get some bergamot and flowery notes out of it. Then it changes into a soft, sweet tea and flower scent. I think some notes don't harmonize very well, though. Not bad, but It's also nothing I personally would enjoy wearing. The lasting power is not very good, as it only lasts about 3 hours on me. The name and the bottle are nice, though.

Don't let the name deceive you to think this is an edible fragrance.. yes, it contains cocoa but then a dry non-edible version with tea and spices, which however pleases me very much! A definite for what Rosine calls an 'old languid rose'

Like many other reviewers, I was confused initially by Les Parfums de Rosine ROSE PRALINE because it is not really a gourmand perfume at all, despite its sugary-sounding name. Pralines are probably one of the sweetest candies around so I was definitely ready to reach for the expresso and ice water, if needed. Nothing of the sort is required to digest this cocoa rose perfume, which features unsweetened and slightly bitter cocoa bean, not dark chocolate, unless perhaps it is the bar of Lindt chocolate boasting 90% cocoa. I bought one of those once, and I have to admit it that the experience seemed rather close to that of eating a spoonful of cocoa. Although I do appreciate a good dark chocolate, my preferred percentage is probably closer to 70... ROSE PRALINE is the least rosy of the Rosine perfumes--at least those familiar to me--with rose serving as the background to the cocoa and the sandalwood. I rather like this composition and would consider adding a bottle to my collection for cool-weather wear. This would be a good choice for those who like but do not love roses and those who enjoy some culinary notes but generally steer clear of gourmand compositions because they tend to be overly sweet or have too strong of a vanilla note. Neither is the case here--somewhat ironically, given the name!

Rose Praline is a smooth cocoa and rose scent, not nearly as chocolatey as I expected it to be, and that's a good thing. I agree with Sherapop, this is not a gourmand. Rose Praline opens with a rich rose oil accord. The rose note is a fairly potent one, more like that of a red rose rather than a soft, pink one. The cocoa and tea notes are late bloomers in this composition, only noticeable towards the heart. The cocoa in Rose Praline is not sweet like a block chocolate. I find it to be quite powdery and smooth, a quality I rather enjoy in this composition. In other words, it doesn't share any similarities with Aqoulina's Chocolovers or Thierry Mugler's Angel. Like other reviewers have already mentioned, the tea note in Rose Praline is quick to put a dampener on the cocoa and rose blend. Seeing that this fragrance's name does suggest a gourmand take on rose, I can't overlook the fact that the dominant tea, cardamom and geranium notes take this fragrance in a different direction. Rose Praline has a somewhat classic, mature feel, which I personally like, even though others may not. It reminds me of Annick Goutal's Ce Soir ou Jamais in lots of ways. If you adore rich, jam-like rose scents, you'll probably enjoy Rose Praline. Not to mention, the projection and longevity are great.

Love this scent. I wore it on my first day of a Disneyland trip, and it is one of the only perfumes I have that beautifully wafts to my nose, even after 6 hours of wear. If you like the idea of getting wiffs of your gorgeous perfume, this is def for you. It is not as gourmandy as Guerlain's Gourmand Coquin, which I consider to be the sticky solid version of Rose Praline, but it does have that "yumminess" that one gets from a beautiful chocolate. It has a sweetness that is gorgeous and flirty, and so I often wear this one when I want to feel pretty. It's not heavy, and def not cloying (all theRosine pefumes manage to maintain a watery "splash" feel, but with the quality ingredients and longevity one would expect from a well-crafted EdP). For licorice rose lovers (aka Secrets de Rose), this is less in-your-face sweet (I find there is a note in secrets that is too much for a FB), but they could be sisters as there is a similarity there. If you want to step into gourmand kingdom, but most of them are too thick for you, this is perfect. I wear this when I want some sort of yumminess but Gourmand Coquin (or a Serge Lutens) is too much for that moment.

I was expecting a little bit more from this. It reminds me of playing with dolls as a little girl. Mine always had a rose smell to them. I can pinpoint the rose at first whiff. The top notes have bergamot and cardamom, but I barely detect the cardamom. The bergamot opens up the scent like a breath of fresh, green, citrus air. The rose is dancing around waiting to take center stage, though it doesn't take long for her to do so. I don't think I can smell the geranium, but I can somewhat sense the tea in here....though on me, it's not that noticeable. The chocolate is not playing as big of a role as I had hoped it would. In fact, I'm not even sure that I can smell it. I smell a rounded (for lack of a better word) sweetness...but it could be caramel or plain sugar for all I know...and it's just a hint of it. In my opinion, the musk and sandalwood only help to increase the rosie scent. This is definitely perfect for Rose lovers...and though I think it's very pretty, it's just not my cup of tea.

CACAO ROSE ,SWEET and SPICY I always try not to write a review right away after trying a scent for the first time., as it is clearly too early to write anything but a "first impression", which we all know is so often wrong, especially when it comes to perfumes. In fact my favourites perfumes I did not appreciate at first. Sniff. They grew on me after several wearings , sometimes weeks. Anyways. I just received this sweet little rose and I am shocked on how many reviewed this not to be sweet. I guess we all have different perceptions of what's sweet and not but boy this is sweet!!!! I can definitely smell sweet rose tasting chocolate and I totally Love it, so far. I have only had it on for half an hour. I am impressed. It's not toothache sweet but its Sweet and I think the name suits it perfect , couldn't be more suitable. Its a praline rose with cacao, fresh sweet and young. Very impressed. Will update in a few days !

Because of the name, I expected something sweet and sugary, but I was surprised. The fragrance opens with a burst of green notes—the bright leaves of geranium and fresh herbs. This initial phase doesn’t last long, and soon after that the gentle whisper of chocolate emerges shyly. The chocolate is discernable, but subtle and not enough to satisfy the sweet tooth of someone looking for a gourmand fragrance. The base is a pleasant combination of a juicy rose, indistinct greenery, and something slightly sweet (the praline, I guess). This is not a straightforward rose perfume. However, it is very easy to wear. This is my favorite of the line so far. It lasts for about 6 hours on me.

I have loved many of the Rosine creations but Rose Praline is not one of them! To start, the name has absolutely nothing to do with the actual fragrance, even the notes attest to that and I'm even wondering where the "rose" is? As others have mentioned, the initial impression is somewhat surprising as anyone would expect a gourmand treat, redolent of burned sugar and pecans like the iconic, tooth achingly sweet patty from the Big Easy, New Orleans. Instead, there is an initial sharp jolt of green which quickly disappears into a faintly dusty rose? and a very strange cocoa like vapor. It stays just that way while you impatiently wish it would just go away.

Okay so in order, at the first blast I get a powdery cocoa smell that quickly turns into a really fresh and strong bergamot, with tea, and then all of this settles into a fresh, fresh rose, and it's the rose that remains, that people detect on me. It's my favourite Rosine perfume too (though this is rapidly being challenged by Ballerina no 1, which may not be gourmand but seems edible). Rose Praline is perfect for daytime because it's so clean and alive, but I also like it very much in the evening, when the subtle spicier notes seem to play well. It slightly makes me sneeze, it doesn't last very long, it's subtle rather than drop dead sexy.
