Rose Sublime

I'd just gotten a hold of Rose Sublime after chasing it for years. After spraying it 4 times on my skin, I’ve found that this EDP’s projection and lasting power leaves much to be desired. Akin to a body spray, it vanished from my skin in an hour. I had to stick my nose to my arm to get the slightest whiff of it even immediately after spraying it! As for the fragrance, it is quite the opposite of what the ambitious name suggests: This is a very shy rose, sweetened by honey and slightly adulterated by the aquatic notes. Another similar natural rose that comes to mind for comparison is Crabtree & Evelyn Rosewater; though that is a much less aquatic one. Rose Sublime is an inoffensive fragrance that’s perfect for warm environments and close quarters. This is an intimate honeyed, watery rose and, despite the faintness of the juice, I’m glad to have it in my collection.

Somehow slightly sweet and warm (maybe that's the amber/honey) while also a fresh aquatic green rose. It's really nice imho. Moderate sillage for the first couple hours then it lingers on as a skin scent - lasts about 6 to 8 hours total on my skin. I feel it performs about the same as any of the others from this line (I have a bunch of them). Great for the office or really anytime or place. I see this as an easy, versatile, inoffensive daytime workhorse for rose lovers. I think it could work for any season but will probably shine in spring or summertime. In my collection, I'd put this is the same scent genre as something like Versace Bright Crystal (similar but Bright Crystal is fruitier and has a more generic floral rather than the distinct/stong rose note in Rose Sublime) or even Elizabeth Arden Dream Petals (which is a sweeter and muskier rose but I'd wear for the same occasions). I would say all three of these have pretty comparable performance on my skin as well.

Aquatic apricoty rose, quite long lasting on clothes (not on skin), just sweet and watery enough, refreshing, fruity, a bit serious but without pretentiousness, young, very pretty indeed.
