Vanille Chocolat

I'm attempting to graduate from cheap sweet smelling fare to something slightly more mature and after finding this perfume on a site that would ship to my country I have fallen in love. Beautiful sensual patchouli, totally sexy and sophisticated wrapped up in a sugary vanilla chocolate it smells like a hippy who's had a colour analysis- hippie has been castrated and used for parts. I really love smelling the perfume but after spraying it I can't smell it on myself and I'm not sure if it is really suited to me or something I'd enjoy more if it wafted past me off a stranger. Overall really good value for money, very beautiful and wild sexy with some class.

I will keep my review short. If you like or love Mugler Angel edP, you will love Vanille Chocolat. If you do not like or love Mugler Angel edP, you will for sure not like Vanille Chocolat. I've been wearing Angel edP since 1993/1994, so this is a big love for me!!

This essentially is Angel. I was FLOORED when I tried it on from a decant swap package. I instantly fell in love. I may need to buy this, as I can't afford Mugler's Angel atm. Lasts EONS.

There is an Angel flanker 'the taste of fragrance', with cocoa powder thrown into the mix and it smells exactly like a chocolate liquor, you know, the bitter bitter dark chocolate? It's a remarkable fragrance but not one that I want to wear, Owning 2 of the Laurence Dumont perfumes, ( Tendre Madeleine and Violet Vanille) I'm aware of the great value for money with this line but what really got my interest, was the honey and tobacco notes in it. I'm a sucker for tobacco scents. Interesting to see that no-one has likened this to Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford ( not many people GET the tobacco note) I'm sitting here with a sealed bottle,.... The unboxing and revelations, to come..... shortly..... As for the House of Laurence Dumont (also sold under Les Senteurs gourmandes brand) I'm thoroughly impressed with its dirt cheap prices and simple, linear perfumes that aren't going to require a second mortgage to explore! You can literally buy the whole line, for under $200! I'm talking 10 bottles for the price of one niche brand or overpriced chemist line frag! Who doesn't love a bargain? You can't go wrong here. A 'must have' line for gourmand lovers * edit, as expected, this is almost identical to Angel, The Taste of Fragrance,with Cocoa powder. Angel,having a slightly more bitter chocolate note than this one. This my third in the Les Senteurs gourmandes range. Probably my least favorite, but glad to own it, got it for a song. All in all, if you love Angel, you'll love this too. It's still dirt cheap, even at twice the price but no nasty cheap smells. LASTS FOR AGES!

This is a nice perfume for every patchouli lover, as the dry down is all about patchouli. I wish the honey and vanilla lasted more because the first 45 minutes are beautiful. You get sweet honey and vanilla with a hind of something spicy. After 45 minutes the patchouli starts to take over and the other notes disappear. That being said, it's not a bad perfume and the performance is above average on my skin

Don't be fooled into thinking this is a gourmand chocolate. This has patchouli through and through. It's somewhere between Mugler Innocent and Angel EDT. Very sweet...but exactly like something in the Angel family! Decent projection. Totally worth it!

Sweaty chocolate. So i have a fragrance called Catsuit from Amigo. This itself is a clone of Gaultier Kokorico. This one, Vanille Cocolat, is very similar to my nose. However, i received it yesterday and thought I'd test it on my arm before wearing it fully today. Especially as I'd be showering straight afterwards so if it was too strong late in the evening I'd be washing it off soon after. Then i got a sweaty smell mingling with the chocolate. I thought 'maybe I'm a little sweaty without realising it' so i didn't pay too much attention to that. This morning i sprayed it on clean skin and a clean shirt and it's the same. Not great. So, I'd liken it to spraying Catsuit/Kokorico on top of sweaty skin. Maybe when it's dried down much more than it has currently it will be better, we'll see.

I was on a roll till this one. I wanted an awesome Chocolate scent to beat Alyson Oldoni Choc Man Mint. This was very disappointing because: 1)The notes have I believe little to do with the make up as per 2) 2) I get a tiny amount of chocolate or cacao which smells more like (as is common I understand as a base in this type of scent) Patchouli and some florals to create the effect - I didn't get any vanilla! 3)The price 4)Performance was somewhat OK In a nut shell - it didn't perform as marketed. I'll save some more money for Choc Man Mint!

Absolument pas de note de chocolat... au lieu de ça, une odeur mielleuse-sirupeuse qui rappelle vaguement un sirop contre la toux ou un désodorisant bon marché. Affreusement chimique et vraiment pas agréable à porter.

I'm on my second bottle of this frag, and I'm still perplexed. This is very much Mugler Angel in essence; but only in essence. While it shares the chocolate and patchouli DNA, it definitely lacks the complexity and warmth and super sweetness of Angel. Instead this is more subdued and bitter with a focus on patchouli. However my great issue is not with the scent itself but rather the performance. This on me, at least to ME, is pitiful. After 20 minutes of having oversprayed this on myself, I can't smell it at all. And I mean overspray; on my hair, on my back, all over my clothes... Either this fragrance doesn't last at all or my skin just eats it up. Which is a shame because if it did perform better, I'm sure it would be something I would wear regularly as a cheaper alternative to Angel (which is now not even worth buying in my opinion as the latest reformulation is awful). However, in contrast, this fragrance is one I've received compliments on. Which is always to my surprise because I can't smell it at all, even on my clothes. My ex remarked that he could smell this on me and remembered it from our first date, as well as someone who I used to work with who told me she always loves how I smell, and at that time this fragrance was the only one I owned and wore (as a recently graduated broke uni student). So perhaps it does last on me more than I think. Or maybe this new bottle needs to macreate a little. I've currently got La Rive River of Love and Al Rehab Crystal on the way as my search for a suitable Original Mugler Angel dupe continues. For now, Vanille Chocolat will have to do, at least for only 20 minutes.

First of all, don’t rely on Fragrantica’s notes. Here are the ones listed on the brand’s website: Top notes: bergamot, blackcurrant, lemon, mandarin. Heart notes: rose, nutmeg, cumin, blackcurrant bud. Base notes: patchouli, vanilla, chocolate. This list resembles pre-2015 Angel, and so is the result. Really. Fruits, bergamot, and chocolate immediately burst, with a slight citrusy bonus touch from the lemon. The vanilla and chocolate are very distinct. Then, everything softens and settles more and more into the patchouli, which is very reminiscent of old Angel—almost damp and intensely warm, blending with the skin like a mystical body scent... and not that awful scratchy-nutmeg patchouli that ruins the current version of Angel. I had already fallen in love with River of Love by La Rive because it strongly reminded me of the Angel I used to love. River is the airy, fruity, musky side of Angel. Vanille Chocolat is its deeper, darker, dirtier side. I love both. The longevity is moderate, but at this price ($30/100ml), it’s more than acceptable. If you miss the old Angel, go for it—you won’t believe it.

I might get a hint of tobacco but nothing more, and as to comparisons to Angel, I thought that one was sweeter than this one. In any case, this is what I had hoped Patchouli Intense by Molinard would be like, but that one had some sort of near nauseating note clash for me. I would like the chocolate note to be stronger here, but it is a nice scent, in terms of what I'm seeking. It may be better for layering than wearing by itself, and I might use it for a swap if I can get something I'd much rather have, but I don't mind keeping the bottle either. The company's Tendre Madeleine is a more interesting composition, whereas this one is rather simple. Strength is good but it's not as strong as I thought it might be. UPDATE: After a couple hours, at most, it really came together, though still not much tobacco. I'm definitely going to keep it now, for at least a second wearing, and use more than one spray.

I just found this one in my perfume collection today and can’t for the life of me remember where and when I bought it. But I do know why, it’s a lovely chocolate vanilla perfume. Only problem is the dry down on me is all tobacco and I don’t like tobacco. And it doesn’t last very long either. Oh if it only stayed the same scent as the first 5 mins. I’d buy gallons of it. I don’t get how anyone can compare this one to Angel. They are nothing alike. I adore and prefer Angel. I may just give this Vanille Chocolat to my hubby, if he’ll have it. He doesn’t like most of my taste in perfume. I really don’t care, I collect and wear what I like and to make me happy. I don’t wear perfume for anyone else but myself. After all I’m the one shelling out the big bucks for Niche and Designer perfumes so I should be able to smell it. Right?

This is, by far, the WORST "chocolate" perfume I've ever smelled.I wouldn't even call this a chocolate perfume, it smells like cheap arabic perfume.I hate it with a passion!I wanted a perfume that smelled like chocolate and I found out about this, so I went to test it with my husband and even he said that it doesn't smell like chocolate at all, it smells like, and I quote"car perfume and smelly feet" I discovered other perfumes that smell like chocolate and they are 3 times cheaper than this.Overall, I personally don't recommend it

I agree cocolover56 ! it's less exepensive than Angel, so if you love Angel but can't afford it, you can buy this. Also, it is more natural (Les senteurs gourmandes only produces natural perfumes, without toxicity).

If you love and miss the original Angel, not the one they sell these days, then you Will love this One.
