Vanille Noire

So off the top I get vicks vapour rub, quite menthol like toothpaste. At this stage I find it masculine but it dries down to a gorgeous vanilla that reminds me of Vanille West Indies. A dark vanilla that's spicy and not at all sweet. After about 2 hours everything else dies and it turns into the most raw and beautiful vanilla I have ever smelled in a frag. Definitely unisex. Edit: So now I've had it on for 9 hours and the vanilla is so strong its actually making me feel nauseous. Though this is a sublime vanilla, after about 2 hours that's all it is and I want a bit more from my perfume.

169 I love the deep woody vanilla with spices, a cola-like opening. Lightly sweet and tart. Unfortunately it is not strong and you need to spray liberally a few times in layers in order to get some silage and projection. Then it’s still just okay, even on fabric. It’s a nice adult vanilla. Wish someone would make a stronger version of this one! 7/10-has potential but it’s weak. Would not repurchase.

This is a dry, non sweet straight up vanilla. On it's own it's nothing special-- but oh my goodness, does this layer awesomely with perfumes that need a little extra dose of vanilla!

Pretty. Vanilla in the same sort of way Angel is vanilla, there's a lot else going on here.

Cents less is right - this is a dark non-sweet vanilla. To me it’s a dark vanilla with a good dose of pink pepper and a very very very subtle hint of clove. I’m also getting a hint of musk and what I am interpreting as the barest hint of ylang ylang maybe? I just received a tiny sample of Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille (SDV) and was really surprised to see how closely it resembles this perfume!! SVD is a tad richer and a tad sweeter - it performs a little better and it blooms and evolves more throughout the wear and dry down. Still... upon initial application the similarity is really amazing. When you consider that SDV costs about $400 CAD per bottle and this only costs about $50 I would say that this is an excellent substitute. It makes a much better SVD dupe than any other high end fragrance house dupe that costs twice the price that I have tried. If you are a fan of SVD but can’t shell out the $400 on a bottle or even if you have a bottle but want to use it sparingly and have something similar to spritz with abandon - I think you can’t go wrong with this... This company has impressed me every single time - the price quality ratio is truly consistently outstanding. The company literature references the use of real vanilla and I believe they do use it. Given the priciness of vanilla absolute and soaring prices resulting from poor harvests and increased demand use of real vanilla has become rare in vanilla perfumes and that is a most unfortunate omission. It’s incredibly refreshing and amazing to see a company using it in affordably priced perfumes!!!

this is a GREAT spicy vanilla along the lines of the discontinued and rare Vanilla Noir by bath and body works as well as Rocher's discontinued Neonatura Cocoon. and here's an added wierdness: it wafts of Hypnotic Poison at times! It's really really delicious. I got 3 bottles in case they discontinue. it's only 20 euros a bottle. It's a real beauty. Sillage is low despite the fabulousness and the staying power is on the short side. But...I love it.
