Vanille Patchouli

I've tested several perfumes from Les Senteurs Gourmandes and Vanille Patchouli is one them. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations about it, because I thought it would be mostly vanilla focused scent, but I was wrong. Vanille Patchouli is very interesting and unexpectedly true unisex fragrance. To my nose, this is a very good gourmand fragrance, but not overly sweet, cloying or synthetic. The patchouli note give dark chocolate vibe, there is also some green and tiny mossy accord, but overall this is friendly type of patchouli. In the first two hours, in some way it remands me the idea of Mugler A*Men - in Vanille Patchouli I feel similar gourmand type of sweet seductive smell - dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla... But after two hours, Vanille Patchouli becomes even better! The balsamic notes are getting stronger and whole composition becomes way more rich, warm, rounded and attractive. I really can't believe how interesting and complex scent is Vanille Patchouli after the appearance of the this wonderful balsamic note. May be in that balsamic part, Vanille Patchouli slightly reminds me of L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme Eau Extreme. So, Vanille Patchouli is a well done semi-sweet gourmand fragrance, with lovely vanilla - not harsh or artificial, that gives wonderful cozy vibe and when the drydown comes, that's the real magic.

My first time smelling patchouli, to me it is like a minty, earthy, mossy, aromatic/balsamic lavender. So rich to me. Can't really smell the vanilla, maybe just a honey-like note for me. And its also very resinous and incense-like, just like a spell. For some reason old school goths are associated w/ patchouli scents? I've seen that said a lot. And i understand why, to me it smells elegant and rich and at the same time so nostalgic and ethereal. It reminds me of my grandma's garden in the 2010s under a grey sky, and the scent of flowers after the rain. Or a foggy asphalt road in the middle of the forest (not completely literally though, it just reminds me of this vibe.).

I bought a set of 4 decants of les senteurs gourmandes fragrances and this was one of them, I can’t say I’m a big fan of patchouli, it’s quite headache inducing for me. If anyone in the uk wants to try this let me know I have a 5ml decant you can have for postage only.

Woody, spicy vanilla-patchouli combo. Vanille Patchouli delivers on what it promises: sweet, creamy vanilla with a lot of herbal, mildly spicy patchouli. However, there is a twist thanks to the prominent "smoke" note that adds a woody-spicy aspect to the scent with slight smokiness. Not much smoke as note suggests; more spice & woods from that note. The resultant smell at the drydown is a green, herbal, sweet woody-spicy vanilla patchouli. It actually smells more mature thanks to the smoke & the geranium. The geranium here is not overt as a note but it adds balance to the total scent. Proper gourmand & despite the intensive vanilla, & not cloyingly sweet as one might think. Like & pass from me, personally.
