Just there, between breath and decision. You expect tension. You get warmth instead. Or rather - warmth arriving slowly, as if the room was always this temperature and you're only now noticing. The opening doesn't announce itself; it gathers. A soft sweetness, rounded, almost deliberate in its refusal to sparkle. No citrus cut, no sudden light - just a surface that feels full, then fuller, and then you realise it isn't heaviness exactly, it's density learning how to breathe. Lavender flickers through it briefly - not as a statement, more like a thought that cools the air before it finishes forming. Gone before you decide if it mattered. You stay with it anyway. Because something's changing. Not in direction - in depth. It settles into labdanum and amber, but these aren't fixed things here. They soften. Expand. What was liquid thickens, what was sweet turns resinous, and somewhere in that shift the scent stops being something you wear and becomes something that adjusts - like posture correcting itself without instruction. There's a masculinity running through it, if you need to name it. But it doesn't arrive fully formed. It unfolds. Not asserted, not defended - just present, then more present, then quietly certain of its own space. You notice it not as weight but as continuity. Later, something drier emerges. Almost reluctantly. Woods, and a trace of cocoa - not sweet, not edible, more like dust catching light. Something slightly bitter that steadies the warmth without interrupting it. Doesn't change the direction. Just clarifies it. For a while, everything feels... aligned. Then familiarity starts to surface. Not as disappointment - as recognition. The edges that once felt specific begin to blur into something known. The amber-musk base is smooth, undeniably well-made, but it stops asking questions. It just... continues. And you find yourself wondering if that was always the point. Not to transform - to accompany. Not to surprise - to remain. Because even as it becomes more familiar, it doesn't feel like loss. It feels like something settling into itself. Language that started uncertain and now moves without hesitation, even if it's saying something you've heard before. You're still inside it. Which may be the thing. Not whether it changes enough - but whether you notice yourself changing while it doesn't quite need to. Vibe: Amber and labdanum. Warmth that was already there before you arrived. Performance: Quiet but persistent. It stays close and means it. Fit: For someone who doesn't need constant novelty to feel present - someone comfortable with depth over drama. Pafory Advent Calendar 2025 – Day 5 First impression: Funny enough, my Pafory magazine and Les Soeurs de Noe website list different notes than the official pyramid — mandarin on top, lavender and labdanum in the heart, and ambroxan, amber, (and cocoa) in the base. On my skin, it opens with a soft sweetness but not enough citrus to brighten it up. I catch a flash of lavender for a moment, then it settles quickly into a heavier labdanum–amber blend. Niche December Contestant 5: First impressions: This is weird. Right after I sprayed it, I immediately realized that I have become nose blind to its notes. No idea how that turned out. Main review: I figured it out. This fragrance is soft, however it still projects. You just end up smelling it as on skin even at arm length. It also has some good endurance on skin. Next thing, the notes. Do not trust the voted notes on here, the actual ones can be found on their page (checks out). It's not entirely my type of fragrance, but I can definitely imagine that quite a lot of people would enjoy it. Overall: 5.5/10, and with additional bonus points for performance and uniqueness, 7.5/10.

I was intrigued enough by the notes on this one to order a decant. Unfortunately I get very few of them - there’s no chocolate, no coffee, no milk, vanilla or heliotrope. Instead what I get is a tsunami of woody synthetics that drown everything else out apart from a shrill citrus note that fades in and out of the background. I gave it a couple of hours to see if there was any development (there wasn’t) before scrubbing.

Very volatile woody scent. Softer version of Ganymede - with a few added fruity citrus notes. It doesn’t have any density, it’s airy. The chocolate note is absolutely absent. Very unisex, perhaps masculine leaning. I was expecting something more complex and strong for this price range. Fragrance itself is not bad but it has left me feeling like I needed something more.

A) It has nothing to do with Ganymede. Maybe just that both are in liquid form and sold in bottles. This is a familiar bit spicy-woody fragrance that could be found in many perfumes, all stemming from Penhaligon's Halfeti. However it's super fleeting and in the short term it smells, it's not enjoyable, just smells some faint spices is all. Not reccomended at all
