Au Crépuscule de Morphée

This is a SPECTACULAR perfume, with violet and iris being the superstars of this love story. The violet is candied, almost syrupy, making a beautiful contrast with the powdery and airy iris. The protagonist, Iris, starts strong with its carrot-like, dry characteristics; earthy and moist, and perhaps leather-like. Iris knows its potential, but perhaps feels alone. Then, Violet crosses path into the scene, making an appearance as though the Iris has been stopped in time by falling in love with Violet at first sight. Violet seems chalky, perhaps shy upon seeing Iris and its grandeur; however, the wind carries her tender and soft makeup smell to Iris, like a siren song to a sailor. Iris invites Violet to a dance, and they coalesce seamlessly, intertwining their beautiful contrasting natures, in a symphony under a sky full of stars. Violet is enticed, and starts emanating sweet candy-like facets, almost like Parma candies, as she warms up to Iris. Creamy sandalwood decorates the ambiance, like streetlamps turning on to the coming of the night, allowing Iris and Violet to express themselves in full bloom as they dance through the night. As the night progresses, the heat takes over them: benzoin and amber facets make their way into the scene, filling the room with sensuality that can only lead to the manifestation of Iris and Violet's true love. Violet's chalky texture becomes rounder, softer, creamier, whereas Iris's earthy nature is softened into a cocooning and comforting bliss, displaying a freshness and airiness that Iris did not know existed. They both realize from here on, there's no other chance. They've been majestically bound together in what would be the ideal story of true love. It's a transportive perfume full of love, sensibility and tenderness, and certainly living up to its name. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Longevity and sillage are magnificent, lasting over 8hrs on my skin, while presenting itself constantly throughout. Be aware that the perfume is powdery, so you need to love these styles of perfume. Completely unisex, although many will claim it leans feminine due to the powdery nature. Thank you, Hélène for this wonderful creation. The whole collection is wonderful, but this one enticed me at first sniff. Looking forward to acquiring the other three soon.
