Santa Subita

This is a great perfume! I love the woody patchouly which turns into an interesting musky smell. Perfect for winter.

It's a powerfull incence perfume. Reminds me of walking in a church ^^. I really like it... I have the same scent as a candle at home... lovely !

I tested Santa Subito in october on my left hand. I try as best I might to describe my impressions: the head note is like you are come to a dentist . Very metallic and extremly. Then there is a intensive heart of olibanum. This heartnote is very heavy for me in autumn. Maybe in cold winter days it could be better. The base after a 6 hours and more: it is for me a feeling if you go in a crypt. If the heart is still between church and meditation feeling this base makes me fear. I am sure because the scent has the same intention and direction like L ́orpheline of Serge Lutens. But L ́orpheline is more soft, it remind me of wondeful xmas-nights and the walk to xmas-church through the snow. Santa Subito it is perfect for a Halloween night. It reminds me to death. Santo Subito does in mean: suddenly sacred of what? But there is no holiness inside this scent. Maybe it is my skin and skin chemistry which makes it so spooky and offensive or the atmosphere of autumn and Halloween in some day at friday. And around these atmosphere we have some days like All Souls, All Saints and a day in november, we call it "Totensonntag". In the air around me lies a mix of rain and fallen yellow leaves. Maybe all these factors influences the scent development in my skin. Santa Subito has a medium sillage and a long longevity. In the evening yesterday I hoped it would disappear suddenly but it stayes the whole day and night with me, even if I put it only on my left arm/ pulse.

@ rougetnoir (below) First of all when it comes to someone's else's choice of perfume name there is no such thing as "wrong". They have free choice to name it ANYTHING they want, it's THEIR choice. (Even if completely non-sensical. ~ Which is actually not the case, as you accuse it.) And besides the word "subita", in Italian, is actually the feminine form of the verb "subito". So it does in fact fit perfectly with the gender change of "santo" to "santa". (It's obvious as well that he is extending the original meaning to his own purposes). Lastly, I seriously think you should start by checking your own grammar, double negatives & spelling, before you accuse others of the same. (vis: "sarcastic" + "depends" ... & it's : "doesn't mean anything" NOT "doesn't mean nothing" ! - Which ironically actually doesn't mean anything !) ... As for the perfume it is a wonderfully rich warm woody delight. With some patchouli/oakmoss and, though not mentioned, I'm pretty sure there is also some sweet opoponax with that benzion. Ending on a lovely musk. It's wonderfully comforting and with excellent longevity ! Definitely worth a sample if "orientals" appeal to you.

a Very Timid Oriental... The opening of this fragrance is not very pleasant...In fact, it starts out quite rough! The citrus seems to be a sour, and bitter combo. Then the cedar appears, and it still is unpleasant to my nose, but I decide to persevere, and continue wearing it to get the whole picture! I usually adore these type of fragrances..Oriental, woody and spicy..but, of course,each fragrance has it's own style, or personality. This particular fragrances has a sort of thinness to it, it is hard to explain, but let's take Coromandel for instance. Coromandel is a rich, creamy fragrance, as opposed to the thinness this one has. I feel Santa Subita is trying to portray a Coromandel type vibe, but even though eventually, the dry down is rather nice, it lacks something...something to give it that missing richness. It lasts quite well, and as I stated, the dry down is very nice. I have worn this several times, to give it a fair chance, but it still remains a fragrance with a weak personality...to my nose anyway).
