Honeycomb

Margot Elena fragrances reminds me of the fragrances by Lolita Lempicka. They are both quirky, fun and airy. This fragrance does not disappoint in this quality. At opening this fragrance reminded me of Tainted Love, also by Margot Elena. There is a note in this fragrance that is also in Tainted Love. From the note profile of TL I would guess its tea but I am not sure as it isn't in other tea fragrances I have. The dominance of that note quickly passed and it blooms into this warm cozy serene honey fig scent that slowly envelopes you like a soft fluffy blanket. I still detect that note thats in Tainted Love at dry down--so my general impression of this fragrance is that its like a daytime or summer time version of that fragrance. Tainted Love was a mainstay in my fragrance wardrobe for years so I am not the least bit disappointed in this similarity. I love being able to wear a similar fragrance in the warm months. The scent is not very complex. Its cozy while being clean due to its light and airy quality. Its ever so slightly powdery and there is the slightest hint of beeswax on the dry down It's basically a skin scent after a couple of hours, but it creates a lovely scent bubble the first couple of hours. It's something you wear more for yourself to feel tranquil and cozy rather than making an impression when entering a room.

I joined the Margot Elena quarterly sub box and bought a few things at the same time, including the perfumed creme of Honeycomb, Linden, and Fields and Flowers. The creme is strongly scented and is a luxurious consistency. And the packaging is sweet, very nice addition to any vanity table. I loved the Honeycomb scent so I ordered the perfume spray as well. It is also wonderfully packaged in a little wooden box with a flowered paper box within. This is a good sweet fig scent. To me, the fragrance does not change much from the initial spray. This is not a BABW brown sugar fig scent; it definitely has a strong honey note and a softer wax note true to honeycomb candles. There is some heft to it; it’s not a light fragrance, as honey itself is thick and heavy. Sillaige is pretty soft but not super weak, longevity is very good on me. It doesn’t “cheapen” on the dry down like so many scents do on me (looking at you, Amouage). If you’re interested in trying this scent, I highly recommend the creme. It’s not expensive, is a decent quantity, and a little goes a long way.

This is a delightful fragrance and my go-to for spring/summer. If you're looking for something complex then I don't think you'll find it here, it's a pretty simple honey fragrance and at least on my skin I don't really get the fig, but a simple honey scent was exactly what I wanted. I like that it's honey without feeling too sickly sweet or heavy, it's still light and fresh. It makes me want to frolic in fields or go tend a garden. It's not long-lasting but honestly for the price I'm not too mad about that. I'm not saying it's the best perfume in the world by any means, but it's very affordable and it makes me happy. Would probably do great layering with other fragrances if you wanted to make it more complex. Art I think would smell like Honeycomb: Haystacks by Claude Monet

I've been on a hunt for a sweet vanilla fig by philosophy dupe/replica for a really long time. I've come up with duds for, like, a year, until I discovered this gem. and I don't why I didn't check Margot Elena sooner considering I loveeee all of their perfumes. Honeycomb is a veryyyy light fragrance with notes of honey and sweet fig. I got a little emotional when I first smelled it bc it smells JUST like sweet vanilla fig! Just a little greener and floral (which makes sense bc of the flower note lol). I'm so happy honeycomb joined my little perfume collection lol

A sweet, light green floral honey. Sometimes I notice slight notes of caramel. It starts out as a strong honey smell that is more on the sweet side than the sour side. The light green fruity fig is there, but is not a deep rich fig. After an hour or so a thought of a powdery floral passes by on the breeze. This stays very close to my skin, and it feels like it just melts into your skin and makes you smell like YOU, but better. When I wear this my boyfriend wants to cuddle all day, tells me I smell amazing, and buries his face in my neck where I've sprayed it.

The name Honeycomb is incredibly accurate. It is more than just the honey. At first sniff you get a sweet, delicious floral honey- very sweet and soft and life like. After awhile the scent morphs to its namesake- the honey is still there, sweet as always, but you get a nuance of waxy honeycomb. It truly smells like beeswax soaked in honey. It stays light and is not heavy or cloyingly sweet, I like that the beeswax note tempers it down and makes it so unique. Perfect for spring or summer, or anytime you want to feel like a honeybee 🐝

I ADORE this one. Light, slightly sweet, and intoxicating - when I wear it, I catch myself sniffing my wrists. I definitely get the notes as listed: honeyed fig with a very slight touch of floral. It is pretty linear, but I like that it is consistent. My daughters love it when I wear this - they say I smell "warm and yummy," and my husband thinks I "smell good," which is a huge compliment coming from him! :) This fragrance is completely inoffensive - you could wear it any time, anywhere. Just beautiful.

This is really lovely! Very springy but you could wear it year round. This reminds me of Xerjoff Naxos but much lighter, more youthful, not spicy at all. Almost reminds me of coconut scented products in a way. I was given a bottle of this by a friend and I didn’t think much of the fragrance at first, but after owning it for awhile and trying it a few times I’m realizing it’s actually really delightful.

A summery gourmand that I have been loving, both on its own and layered. It brings out the sweetness and depth of DS & Durga's Debaser.

My sample smells like dessert. Honeyed figs, sugar plums, or brandied raisins, this smells like warm, sweet fruit, in sticky sweet syrup, with a fleeting hint of violets. (I suspect Scorpio's sample was spoiled or mislabeled; you cannot miss the sweetness here.) There is a subtle smoky/woody element that emerges beneath the honeyed fruit and calls to my mind a nice ruby port, or glögg. This may be the first honey/dessert fragrance that I like on my skin. Scent stays close, and lasts for at least 5 hours on me. Library of Flowers lists slightly different notes than Fragrantica does: Top-Sugared Fig; Middle-Ambrosia Honey; Bottom-Royal Bee Blossom (that last one sounds like a bit of poetic nonsense.)

It’s honey and beeswax through and through. Very soft, honey floral wax scent that fades quickly on me, with just a faint beeswax smell that lingers an hour after application. I find myself reapplying throughout the day, but I don’t mind bc I love that initial honey opening. And, for the price, I’m not upset. It’s so reasonably priced. I’m looking forward to using it this spring and summer. If you like honey and don’t mind that waxy scent of it, this is a safe blind buy imo. PS - this is completely different from Ellis Brooklyn Bee. If Bee is the extrovert, Honeycomb is her introvert little sister.

This is a wispy, sweet honey fragrance that sits close to the skin, adding a dusting of pleasantness to one’s aura. There is something in the fragrance’s DNA that is reminiscent of TokyoMilk Tainted Love. Though undeniably sweet, there’s nothing about it that comes across as cloying to me. This is a great scent for when you want something lovely, unique, and uplifting but discreet and unobtrusive. Overspraying is recommended for those who want noticeable sillage, at which point the scent becomes more multilayered with beeswax, crystalized honey, and something like vanilla bean emerging.

A charming honey scent for spring and summer, but perhaps a bit too literal for its own good. It wears like you’ve smeared actual honey on your wrist. It’s rich, delectable, and it projects like a dream. Until it touches water. Then it vanishes without a trace. Like actual honey, it clings, it shines... and then rinses off as if it were never there. A gorgeous, fairly priced gourmand that is tragically ephemeral in its longevity.

For me this was immediately a soft, light floral honey with subtle sweet fig. I love how it's not overly sweet or overwhelming with the honey note, and that you can get hints of everything listed. I would say it begins as a white floral and ends with the waxy date-like fragrance. My only complaint is that it is very low sillage and intimate on the skin/clothing. Lovely little bottle of summer that I will spray anytime.

I wanted to love this, as Fig scents are divine, but to me, this just smells like an expensive version of Bath and Body Works Brown Sugar and Fig. As in, exactly like it. Lots of sugar, and sweet, syrupy, overripe fig middles. I think I prefer my fig scents to be less sweet, with a touch of green. This isn't it. It's a nice scent, but too much like BS&F to stand out to me.

I tried this one along with a few other Library of Flowers scents, and this one was my favorite. On me this is a nice, soft, fig. Powdery and sweet. It layers well with my Brown Sugar and Fig lotion.A good one for work environments.

Bland. Where is the fig hiding in this? Only waxy honeycomb to me. Disappointed as fig is a favorite note.

Upon first smell it is very sweet. THe honey and the flowers are most noticeable. After about 5 minutes the floral scent begins to dim and the honey and fig begins to brighten. It has a nice fragrance. It is one that I suggest using on the way to bed, on cuddle night with that special someone. It is the type of fragrance that I would use on a no perfume, perfume day. I own three of the Library of Flowers scents. I will list them in order of prefrence, my most prefered being first. Forget Me Not Honeycomb Willow & Water

Soft sweet Honey & Fig scent with very sillage and longevity depending on how much I spray on my skin. It definitely matters with this one! Of this range I was also gifted 'Arboretum' and 'True Vanilla'. These two both work much better with my skin, 'True Vanilla' being my favorite!

Opens with a sugary honey (far sweeter and less depth than actual honey), but in under 10 minutes, it's just wax wax wax. It's not unpleasant, but in a world full of beautiful scents, this is not what I'm going to choose. Absolutely no fig at all!

The description of this is so promising and I love their other scents. But I hate this. I don’t even know why. How to describe ... nauseating paper with a bit of dusty sweetness. Just, no.

Mild fig, soft honey...beautifully blended. Low sillage, minimum longevity.

Super weird, waxy, sunscreeny beeswax. Not sweet or true honey at all.
