I have the crema version of this and I find it very grounding, very much a scent that puts me into a calm natural setting. I really like how it centers me though it does remind me how much I miss actually being in our temperate forest/rainforest.

Starts off bitter and surprising, but after a few moments, becomes soft, floral, earthy... like the forest in summer. It's not something easy to wear, you have to be willing to wait for the payoff. It is an experience, though. Personally, I really like it. I think it's wonderful and interesting, very much a Margot Elena creation!

This doesn't smell bad, but I am not getting any of the notes listed. No grass, no moss, no woods. On me it smells like a generic floral mix, and is quite similar to the company's Linden. I have the crème version of both these fragrances, I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Disappointing.

Scorpiosheep's review below sums up my experience with this fragrance almost exactly. I initially thought this was bitter and very green and dirty, like bark scraped off young green willow twigs, and freshly cut grass, and tilled soil. But then after a half-hour or so it softens and out of nowhere comes a pleasantly sweet floral, maybe a bit like violets. Root turns into a completely different scent that I can't imagine will appeal to those drawn by the listed notes. I like it, but I don't understand. (And I would NOT call this unisex.)

my friend has this and i tested it out of pure curiosity... yuck. i’m not sure if anyone will get this but you know that musty, foul scent that fills the air after a flood occurs? that’s exactly how this fragrance smells. i don’t get any floral/soft scent, just swampy grass. i was hoping for it to give a rainfall, dewey morning vibe.. absolutely not. it could have totally just been her bottle.. or my nose.. but this is absolutely not for me.

I clicked the dislike button because it went soapy on me and didn't last very long, but actually the scent would be really pleasant on the right person. It's a very mellow blend of florals that feels more like a meadow than a root.

I have the crema, it is very very light and inoffensive. I had trouble getting the tin open but online found a way to open it with my foot but the smell is ok i'll go with the above listed notes but it's hard to discern faintly nutty faintly faintly green or woody? It's a stretch. I would wonder if it had gone bad except it doesn't smell "off" it just hardly smells. I'm going to say don't blind buy I got this tin at a heavy discount and I will not buy again. It is a very faint smell, I'm going to say yes I think there are some flowers and moss hiding in there I had a very very light pleasant scent when I popped the tin. I do like moss and green notes but they're hard to detect here. It sure doesn't smell bad I will say that much. yep I think they're in there. but don't bother it's not worth it.

Sweet grass and moss. On me this doesn't radiate any woody notes. I agree with other reviewers that there is a floral note here and I suspect it is the sweet grass. This is a pleasant and inoffensive scent that I enjoy having in my fragrance repertoire. It's light, doesn't last terribly long and won't offend anyone in your orbit - and sometimes that's just what you need from a scent. This is a recommend from me - as long as you know what you're signing up for.
