In This World

The opening is quite sweet, green and aromatic, however within about 30 minutes or so it dries down to a creamy fig scent. The dry down in particular really reminds me of Commodity Milk Orchid and I’m really surprised that I don’t see coconut listed as a note. I’m guessing that it’s the tonka bean and violet that probably contribute to a coconut like scent. In This World also has a sweet creamy luxury shampoo vibe that I see described as quite serene and spa like, which I have to agree with. Liis fragrances aren’t over the top in your face (ie: headache inducing) however that does not mean they aren’t noticeable. That is to say, it’s not immediately recognised as a perfume. People would not ask “what fragrance did you just spray?” and instead ask “what’s that nice smell?” when you’re around them, as it has moderate projection and sillage. It’s both subtle and noticeable if that makes sense, which would make it a good work fragrance (healthcare sector approved!) or just for general daily wear. I also think I’m quite lucky in that all Liis scents have excellent longevity on me, lasting for over 12 hours. I can spray it a few hours before bed and still catch whiffs of it after I wake up. I say this as I’ve read a few reviews noting poor longevity, so don’t dismiss it solely off of that as it can be different for everyone. Overall, In This World is a very wearable and an easy reach fragrance, regardless of season or occasion. Liis is quickly becoming a favourite fragrance house of mine that I can depend on. I haven’t smelled by them I haven’t liked so far. I have a feeling that In This World will be accompanying my full bottle of Bo very soon!

In this world is my first experience with the Liis house, and what an experience it is. At first sniff, there’s a ever so slight bitterness, which i suppose is the eucalyptus note. However this settles in after a few minutes and from there on out, the scent goes in all the right places. There’s fragrances and then there's scents that create an aura around you. This very much creates a magnificent envelopment that seems to hit differently than most fragrances that seemingly are trying more and more to project and be loud and punchy, perhaps trying to leave an impression in an overly earnest fashion. Not “In this world” - where the elegent minimalism of the notes effortlessly blend into each other, and leave you wanting to sniff more frequently than usual. There’s really something about the composition that is engrossing, and leaves me wanting to explore the house more and more. But back to the fragrance itself, it’s marvelous stuff. The notes are discernible if you really want to identify them, but that’s not what this fragrance is about. The crafting of this scent means the notes are very fluid and cohesive, and the whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts. In short, in this world makes me feel like this could be a signature scent, in a world where the world itself is at your fingertips. Not in a dream, but in reality

Smells: Very herbal and comforting. The eucalyptus and sage! Uncommon. Sillage: arms length to skin scent after a few hours. Comes and goes. Longevity: Noticeable less and less after the 3 hr mark on skin, but can still smell at 8 hours. Didn't get to try it on clothes. Gender: Unisex. Maybe fem leaning if you're picky. Season: Daytime. Spicy and comforting enough for early fall. Best for Spring and Summer. Usually I like the *idea* of "ethical" fragrance more than I end up liking the actual product. Performance is almost always lacking and the price is almost never worth it. In This World is an exception. The quality is above and beyond what I typically experience from similar fragrance houses. It's a beautiful scent and very unique (to me at least). It's fresh, herbal, a little peppered, and calm. The blood orange is the invite, but the sage and eucalyptus made me stay. It's lasted a surprisingly long time compared to similar, more main stream fragrances. I can't say for sure that I would be willing to pay full price, but I'm definitely tempted. I keep wanting to smell the vial it came in.

An ethereal aromatic. My favourite Liis thus far. All the spa-time staples – eucalyptus, lavender, sage – drift about the party, but let blood orange and fig have their slow dance. I feel like these are usually potent, high-saturation notes so it’s lovely to see how they transform through Liis’s dreamy, greyscale lens. No coconut for me, but I agree it echoes of BBW Coconut Lime Verbena (my first love)! I think the creamy fig paired with the tangy blood orange creates the illusion of a lactonic. Performance is gentle, but one of strongest of the Liises I’ve tried (~6h in fabric). Mental Snapshot: A kindly ghost, the spectral groundskeeper of a costal estate. She’s a bohemian nursemaid, a curious botanist, who enjoys her eternity nurturing the sprawling gardens and chaparral bluffs. They say she’s responsible for the little miracles about the place: plump figs budding from orange trees, lost faces in the whorls of eucalyptus bark. tl;dr: NorCal nymph 🌿🦦

My second favourite from Liis and I just purchased a full bottle! I made sure to go through a few samples first before deciding to buy the full size as I find the price very high for only 50ml. Luckily I had a gift card! I saw someone on TT describe this scent as a forest fairy goes to the spa and that’s the perfect description! I work in a spa myself and this has been my go to work fragrance as it truly fits the vibe with the sage, eucalyptus, blood orange and lavender. It lasts a good amount of time on clothes and fades beautifully on skin. (Lasts about 4-5 hours on skin) I am a big Jo Malone London fan and I honestly think this is the better/more sophisticated version of Wood Sage & Sea Salt.

Fresh green eucalyptus with a thick edge of lemony fizzy citrus gives way to juicy fig with an aromatic lavender updraft that completely enrobes the fig. Sage provides savory earthy qualities. This perfume is heaven for anyone that likes a fresh, aromatic perfume with notes of green but that isn’t overwhelmingly green. Reminds me a little of a spicier, less fig forward Philosykos. Same feeling of cleanness, freshness and naturalness. Some Liis perfumes I have tried don’t stay more than a couple hours on skin, but this one has a 6 hour window where you can really smell it, after that it’s only detected with nose to skin.

I'm developing quite the love affair with Liis fragrances! In This World is a lovely, soft and creamy fig on me with some brightness from the blood orange that lifts this well-blended scent. I'm not getting any coconut, thank goodness, because on me it pulls screechy sunscreen so I totally avoid it. ITW is an elevated Father Figure in my opinion; much more elegant and singular than FF.. I'm looking forward to wearing this in the warmer months especially. In This World joins my other Liis faves Lucienne, Of True Minds, and Studied. All FB worthy and worth the price.

this opens with such an incredibly juicy blood orange note and very fresh, aromatic eucalyptus. It’s so bright and green and fresh. The heart of this has a beautifully powdery violet with very juicy fig. It’s fruity but with herbal and soft powdery accords from the lavender and violet. It’s a really enjoyable blend, with no sharpness. The dry down has some fresh spiciness coming from the sage and it blends with a very creamy woody base. This scent is juicy, fruity, creamy, but with a contrast of very bright and spicy herbal accords in a beautiful blend.

Lasts a good long time compared to Liis’ other scents. After a second wear on a rainy day I am even closer to buying a bottle, such an great fall/winter scent and it smells like a drizzly day on a cold rocky coast. The eucalyptus is a shock at first sniff but it becomes a familiar cool spicy smell the more it grows on you. Fig is there, violet is there, blood orange is there. Kind of smells like a walk along a wet mossy cliff and seeing old stone ruins Udate: bought a bottle I love love it perfect rainy day scent for any chilly rainy day

Good lord I would like to bathe in this scent... and I've nearly done just that, emptying the contents of my sample over the course of a few days. It really is gorgeous. All of the notes remind me of my favorite scents of the Northern California coast in the summertime: herbaceous, slightly sweet, reminiscent of the hours spent lounging in the park in dappled afternoon sunshine before the fog rolls in with a chill. Alas, the longevity is similar to the fleeting sun here in July. Beautiful to experience, but not for long before it's gone.

Very beautiful aromatic fig fragrance! I still love my holy grail (Fig Infusion by Essential Parfums), but this one is lovely. It doesn't project or last quite as much as I'd like it to- but I really do love the addition of juicy citrus and herbal notes of eucalyptus, sage and lavender that makes this fragrance truly special. The violet and tonka create a super smooth and velvety drydown. I've enjoyed all of the Liis fragrances that I've smelled but this one is up there for me!

In This World is one of those fragrances that invites you to slow down. The opening is bright and sparkling, with juicy blood orange that feels almost like peeling the fruit with your hands. As it settles, soft green fig and aromatic herbs emerge, creating something earthy yet airy, fresh yet incredibly comforting. It feels transparent, grounded, and quietly beautiful.🌟 — Ethereal, calming, and deeply wearable, it's one of my favorite Liis fragrances to date.

I fell in LOVE with this scent. Truly feels like I'm smelling a memory. I would visit the Carpathian mountains and the smell of blood orange and violets is very nostalgic to me. I didn't think I would like this scent because the eucalyptus note scared me but it's blended so beautifully in this perfume. Definitely purchasing a full bottle once I'm done with my tester

Beautiful. Reminiscent of Jo Malone's Wood Sage & Sea Salt, but with a richer landscape. It's earthy, calm, light, transparent, and sparkling like calm waves. Not very long lasting (longest wear from Liis would be Bo IMO) but this is lovely. I layered it with Chloe Cedrus to amp up the wear time for a summer night - truly recommend.

This is an absolutely beautiful smell that developed more on my skin than I expected. It’s by no means strong and it didn’t last more than a few hours, but I LOVED catching sniffs of the lovely scent as I moved around. So wearable it’s crazy. I wish it had a little more oomph to it, but the full bottle is tempting me nonetheless.

My favorite Liis scent I’ve tried so far. This is what I imagine an angel smells like. Clean, bright, ethereal. It’s very light though, and I find the price tag to be a bit too expensive for the performance. For that reason I won’t be purchasing this. However, if you enjoy light, short-lived scents, then this might be for you.

Evolves beautifully and I loved every minute!! Starts out very spa-like with the eucalyptus and zingy blood orange. As time goes by, the fig starts to sweeten things. By the end, I smell mostly coconut! Lasted a good 8 hours from my test spray at the store - I feel like this would be so perfect for a crisp, clear day

Opening is cool and fresh, definitely getting that eucalyptus which sticks around for a little. Gets cozier and more rounded as it develops with that woodiness and fig coming through. I definitely agree with the spa-like reviews and overcast weather vibes. To me this smells so comforting, wealthy, and beautiful.

This is a bright day veiled by the white lace of nostalgia. A sunny silky memory with a juicy bite and powdery goodbye. A lush world indeed !

The fig note comes off as coconutty but very fresh. It reminds me of the old school bath and body works lime coconut scent but in a good way

The TL;DR is that I love this fragrance when I want to feel like a forest fairy traipsing through sage fields and wooded glades, but something about it gives me a headache after wearing it all day-- I am so bummed out! I love Ethereal Wave, and do not have that issue with Liis scents generally... It's initially a green, woody and figgy fresh fragrance that dries down into a fluffy yellow floral confection similiar to the gorgeous dry down of Bal D'Afrique. I saw someone on TikTok say that Bal D'Afrique is the scent a flower fairy would wear and In This World is a scent that a forest fairy or wood nymph would wear, and I totally agree. There's a fresh and floral airy quality to both of these fragrances, where BDA is very floral forward and the florals come through as ITW dries down. In This World is very sage forward and green, almost masculine, in the beginning, and dries down to a much more feminine and floral finish. For longevity and sillage, my husband noticed the scent and I could smell it on myself most of the day. It has much better lasting power than other Liis scents. It is still light and airy, not a beast mode performer, but it performed better than scents like Studied or Floating. But, at the end of the day, In This World was a headachy mess on me, almost making me nauseated... it must be a chemistry issue! Bal D'Afrique does not do that for me, so I would definitely sample before buying a full bottle. Super bummed because I love the fragrance, but it does not love me back. UPDATE: ok, wearing this on a different occasion, there is something about this scent that reminds me of BBW Coconut Lime Verbena! I couldn't place it before, but it totally has that citrus/creamy/floral combination in the opening that is very similar.

I want to echo @deja1sabel's review because I think it's really accurate. I'm not sure where everyone is getting coconut from. In This World is primarily a calming and grounding blend of aromatics - sage, eucalyptus, and lavender, all wrapped up nicely in a hug of sweet fig in the mid. Violet lends the tiniest touch of dewy florals. The opening is where you encounter the fresh blast of blood orange before it settles into something more sweet, green, and fresh. Sweet tonka and woods round out the dry down for one of my favorite aromatic scents I've smelled yet. This reminds me of a sunny, dewy, sweet spring morning. It also has that characteristic of being spa-like and tranquil. Lush, as Liis describes it. It'd be really hard to make me cheat on Bo, but this one I might take the bait on.

This is a very fresh and light, and easy fig perfume. I don’t mean that in a bad way, not at all, just in a sense that this is versatile and suitable for everything. In some ways it reminds me of ‘Philosykos’ by Diptyque, but ‘Philosykos’ feels soapier, whereas this one is fruitier and a tad sweeter. On my skin this is sparkly and more herbal than on the blotter. The sparkle is sweet and juicy from the blood orange, and it blends perfectly with the herbal sage and slightly salty eucalyptus. As I said, this is very refreshing, almost to a point where it feels slightly cold. Never as cold as snow and ice, but this is like a breath of fresh air. Your bedsheets hanging outside to dry on a warm and humid summer day.

As someone who doesn't have the world's BEST nose... I smelled this perfume and could immediately pick out almost all of the notes. It smells exactly like all of those things -- but the blood orange (I got more of a general pithy citrus), woody eucalyptus, sage, violet, and lavender all POP out. It's like symphony - you're going to smell whatever it is you're paying attention to. Good projection and longevity compared to Liis' other perfumes. Not the most exciting scent to me and I won't buy a full bottle but I do love how this scent is put together.

This scent is incredibly unique! Not in an "out of this world" way, but rather in a very grounded manner, so I completely understand the creative concept. The initial impression on my skin is quite starchy, reminiscent of a fig-dominant scent. As it evolves, it transitions into an earthy and aromatic fragrance before settling into a nostalgic dewy sweetness, reminiscent of the closest scent I've ever encountered to a 90s Barbie doll. Do I want to smell like this? Still not sure, but for now, I’ll be smelling my arm until it dissipates.

This smells coconutty to me so I'm surprised it's not listed as a note. It's very nice though, not a sunscreen-y or artificially sweet coconut. I also get some soft woodiness and almost-but-not-quite powdery florals. Doesn't project much but I prefer scents like that. Unfortunately I don't get any blood orange, I wish I did because I love orange notes. However this is still a pleasant fragrance, but I don't think it's full bottle worthy considering the price.

It's interesting how the reviews here all seem to describe this fragrance pretty differently. I actually didn't get blood orange at all on my skin, but maybe just a hint of sweetness. For me it was very green and grassy, with a hint of powder. It's honestly very pleasant overall. The longevity is also pretty fair, although it will sit fairly close to your skin. This smells like the outdoors when it rains if you were in a fig & blood orange orchard where some of the fruits have fallen off and split open to release a sweet scent. It's ethereal, clean and refreshingly sweet. I was impressed by this one. I wasn't expecting too much from it but that nicely blended eucalyptus really did it for me. This could absolutely be a fresh out of the shower fragrance.

I obviously don't know what I'm smelling b/c I can't detect notes like a lot of users can; but I do really like this. It sits quite close to the skin in the dry down and I find myself wanting to put more on. It's perfect, non-offensive for every day. I'd love this in a laundry scent booster or hair mist. It just smells like a person who has their life together and doesn't try too hard.

At first this was a little too woody for me, but when the top notes wore down the fig really began to shine. It's a sweet, jammy note, but is tempered by the aromatic eucalyptus and sage. I didn't detect much (if any) lavender. Unisex, slightly feminine. I agree with the comparisons to Wood Sage and Sea Salt but this is significantly fruitier.

This is a fresh green summer daytime scent. I don't get a lot of the blood orange, it is there but this definitely doesn't come off as a strong citrus summer frag. To my nose it is more green and light woody. An easy grab on a hot summer day. I'm female and like it and my son also likes it so I think it is fairly unisex.

I don't detect the fig at all. Fig, to me, tastes and smells jammy, almost a little wine-like. Instead, this smells like an artist's interpretation of fresh rain: coastal, woody, fresh. Smells like: A "fresh rain" scented candle.

Very much like Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Dries down a bit sweeter. Lasts pretty much the same. But! Ladies and gentlemen, this is $170 for 50ml! 50. Think about it. Nice scent, but cmon. I’d say get a Malone off a discounter.

I really enjoyed this fragrance from Liis. I would describe it as bright, awake, crisp, fresh, clean. Considering buying a full bottle, since I'm now at the end of my sample. Definitely sits close to the skin.

The first scent I ever owned was Ralph Rocks by Ralph Lauren. The combination of citrus, florals, and woody notes in In This World reminds me of a grown up version of Ralph Rocks, in the best way :)

To me, this smells nearly IDENTICAL to the original Davidoff Cool Water for women... which is weird since it isn't a marine fragrance.

Beautiful airy green slightly woodsy fig but the actual smell is SUPER light, almost undetectable on my skin.

Fresh, dewy, beautiful but very light and not enough fig for me.

I think the Liis fragrances smell pretty and this one is nice but not my fav, I get mostly blood orange on my skin and some eucalyptus which fades, and bit of sage and woods in the background to round it out, but it's mostly fruity and citrus with a little fig but on me the orange is pretty dominant. I don't understand how anyone smells coconut it's like 80% orange to me. However the longevity on most of these is low, especially for the price point. I'd have to spray 10 times, and on clothes and hair, to get a decent amount of perfume to where I'll smell it for a few hours and then you'd need to re-apply. And since I only have a discovery set and samples I can't do that. Also this scent isn't ground breaking it's likely you can find a similar citrusy woodsy smell for cheaper. And any other smell you're around will override this and you'll struggle to smell your own fragrance even on your skin unless everything else around you is unscented. Unfortunately for only a 50ml bottle at that cost with the scent strength that isn't that far off from a body mist I couldn't justify this cost.. if these were body sprays, and lotions, they'd be amazing with a big bottle that you could spray and use a lot.

This one takes a few minutes to bloom fully on your skin--it begins with all the notes I dislike and find masculine--a lavender, mineral effect. But then, in full roaring force, a sweetly aquatic, almost tea-tinged blood orange rounded out with elements of herbal and woody qualities--it's cool and removed as I love violet to be--airy and light, sweetly unisex, wonderfully woodsy. Primarily an orange-dom fragrance now. Okay--we're 20 minutes in and this fragrance is changing again. Now, I'm thinking this is primarily a camphor and eucalyptus scent. It's a bit "cold" feeling, like eucalyptus cough drops. It's a bit more metallic now, and some of the fig and woody notes I initially enjoyed are gone. Just sage and eucalyptus now. Aww. I'm disappointed. I suspect this is the final fragrance and I don't like it as much as I did when I could still smell the orange and fig.

I was super giddy about this, the notes looked so heavenly and cool. But it fell flat. I think it’s because the notes blended so much into this uniform scent. Smells like coconut (probably the fig causing this) and sweet herbal? Also smells a bit like Goldfield & Banks pacific rock moss? alot different than what I had expected. Eucalyptus note is almost non existent to me. It’s not bad it smells -good- of course it has this sweet fig wood aroma, It just fell flat as It has this very basic and tame character. I was *hoping for some zing from the orange or cooling quality from the eucalyptus on top of smooth milky fig and tonka. Well glad I got a sample atleast.

very citrusy opening that mellows into a coconutty fig. i thought this might be similar to noyz shitty day, but the blood orange takes in this world into much brighter and sweeter territory. i have a dabber sample which i think distorts sillage and longevity, but it does seem very light. it’s pleasant and wearable but i’m not blown away.

In this world is a fresh aromatic citrus scent. To me this is very clean and uplifting but leans slightly too masculine for my tastes. It feels both bright from the blood orange and green from the eucalyptus. I don’t pick up much of the fig in this. If citrus freshies are your jam then you should try this one.

This is a beautiful herbal woody scent. I get a lot of lavender and sage to my nose. It’s very pleasant, earthy, and relaxing, leaning feminine in my opinion. However, the performance is very poor, which ruins this for me.

Savory adjacent herbs just do not work for my nose. Chicken? Sure. Perfume? Nope! Violet and lavenders are usual offenders, and the grapefruit with a touch of eucalyptus is giving BO. Resinous, little bit woody base.
