Lucienne

This is a really pretty fresh floral! It’s going to be a super easy reach for spring/summer. Very office appropriate. I picture someone wearing a cute sun dress, going on a picnic or walking in a park with this fragrance. It’s soft, airy, and light. It lasts about 4-5 hours on me, stronger than a skin scent, but still pretty intimate in Sillage. I love the sea note, it’s adds such an addictive quality to this. If you like fresh/florals with a bit of an aquatic vibe, you should definitely check this out!

It smells really bright and refreshing and breezy. A little shampooey but I like that, like you're being shampooed at a salon next to the ocean, their door is open and the breeze is blowing in. There's a bowl of lemons nearby It's very light, as freshies are, but I love it so much that I don't mind

Even though there is no rose note in the listing, this reminds me a lot of PDM Delina La Rosée. It is a watery and sweet fresh floral with some musks underneath. It is a quiet, clean, and stunning daytime spring/summer frag. Wish it lasted a bit longer, but these types of scents never do.

A romantic floral sea breeze in a bottle. Also conjures to mind Monet’s water lilies painting...pond fairy, dewy marine scent. Pairs deliciously with Saint Julep from IA.

I LOVE this so so much. The downside is that it does not last long enough. Definitely a light perfume, borderline skin scent.

Lucienne is a citrus forward oceanic floral, and it's very polished and lovely. There's a blast of fruity citrus that stays through the entire composition of the fragrance, and beneath that is a bed of marine notes and magnolia that keep the scent afloat. I get basically zero ambergris, which was a disappointment! And, the fragrance is almost entirely linear. It stays fresh, clean, and a bit crisp throughout the whole experience. There's also something here that feels slightly rose-leaning, but I can't put my finger on it. The scent is well blended and finding the magnolia and water lily in this composition is really hard because the notes truly flow together seamlessly. There is something here that leans 90s, and I cannot put my finger on what it is reminding me of! I just remember women in the 90s with scents that had this clean, slightly powder-musk drydown-- maybe a Chanel? I think this scent has the recognizable DNA of Liis most obviously, which again leans retro/90s, and here, it is particularly mature smelling. Not in a bad way! But, I think something about the magnolia and citrus here evoke some kind of Chanel or Elizabeth Arden feel that I think makes this scent a bit more polished and retro feeling. I find the Kayali Citrus to also be in this vein of mature citrus, where that one has a rose/citrus blend. I hate to admit this, but I've tested this a few times, and it's my least favorite from the line. If you want just a straightforward clean, slightly aquatic scent and you also very much love magnolia (not warm magnolia but just citrusy fresh magnolia), you should give this a try! It's certainly a crowd-pleasing scent, but most of the notes I was most excited to experience are the least present :(

Ocean breeze filtering through a garden of fluttery, white roses. She’s so Liis. Airy, bright, gauzy, wistful. There’s a little tickle of citrus – the lemon and pomelo – that keeps the overall profile crisp. Lucienne reminds me of a more youthful version of Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil, with that same watery heart. And if you subtract the sea-salt + citrus and add peach + linen, you get Liis’s Floating. Longevity is... well... Liis. Luci is pleasant, if not lovely, but not novel enough to charm a full bottle out my wallet. Mental Imagery: Summer holiday at grandmere’s beach house. She’s left it just the way you remember. A garden humming with dragonflies. A picnic basket of seashells. A fresh new diary, with a blue-ribbon bookmark. Not a single cloud shows the entire week. tl;dr: do you remember the costal grandmother aesthetic? Lucienne does. 🐚🧺

Glad I let this one macerate for about a month before reviewing. Based on my initial notes, the salt note smelled like plastic and was very synthetic. Now I find it more subtle and only rubbery-smiling if I put my nose right up to my skin. Salt note aside, this smells like a good quality fruity floral. But no, it’s not unique, and yes, it does smell like rose, specifically like those lychee-rose blends that have been popular. My guess is it’s the water lily-dragon fruit combo. I also don’t get any pomelo from this; we have multiple trees on our property that are currently bearing fruit and they do not smell anything like the citrus note in this. Would I wear this if someone gifted it to me? Yes, but I wouldn’t spend money on this myself.

I'm wearing this to work today. It's a really nice watery floral, and on such a rainy day this frag feels like a bright smile. The citrusy opening is very similar to ethereal wave, but it has that slightly salty marine quality and 'water floral' that I've been craving recently. It does feel like it's missing some grounding quality which makes the experience a little heady?/linear. Also, as others have said the longevity is not the greatest, as it's only been an hour and I do feel like it's dissipating from my skin. Overall, I love the Liis DNA and I think this fits right in to their lineup.

This is a nice, clean, fresh fragrance that smells like a high-end shampoo. I get a water lily opening, then some transient notes of grape and pear, and it dries down into an aquatic and mildly salty finish. Altogether, it's clean and soapy without the sharp industrial cleaner scent that can come from other soap-bubble fragrances. The main critique I have is that these "vivid" Liis perfumes are so weak, both in terms of longevity and projection. Smells like: A fancy hotel bathroom.

This is one of those aquatic scents that probably smells retro to others, but I just enjoy these so much! This reminds me of Acqua di Gioia or Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche. A fresh, aquatic, oceanic, green, lightly floral, clean, simple fragrance. Nothing ground-breaking. Kind of soapy, laundy-detergenty. I am digging this on this hot summer day - I smell fresh and clean and the performance is ok. I'd say unisex leaning fem.

This really smells like you just got back from the beach – very salty and floral. I didn't get much of the citrus notes at all. Unfortunately the longevity of this was pretty awful – it barely lasted an hour for me with a generous number of sprays. So sad because I do love the smell, but don't think it's worth to buy a whole bottle. I definitely prefer warmer skin scents but this one is pretty floraly.

A gauzy magnolia with other hazy floral notes in the distance (is it the water lily or dragonfruit? a touch of rose?) The citrus top notes add brightness. The whole vibe is like sun-dappled white linen curtains swaying gently in the seaside breeze. Soft, comfortable, a bit cuddly, and doesn't project a ton on me. I'm usually not a huge fan of magnolia scents but this I would wear.

This scent conjures the image of having just showered in a luxurious hotel bathroom and now I'm in a flowy dress on my way to eat brunch overlooking the beach on a sunny and perfectly warm but breezy morning. Moderate sillage is not super long lasting, but after about 4 hours I'm still enjoying an intimate scent bubble from the two spritzes on the back of my neck.

It smells beautiful and clean but doesn't last long, so its perfect for right out of the shower. I also find its lovely to fall asleep to. I think of this as a personal scent - as you can only smell it on the skin, and not for very long... but it makes me feel sensual and beautiful and soft and easygoing and I love it!

Very pretty aquatic floral! Smells like a rich woman's beach house somewhere in California. It's easy to throw on but still has this quiet elegance to it. If you like DS & Durga's Rose Atlantic, you'll enjoy this as well. They are sister scents to me! Excited to work through my sample over the summer. 8.5/10

pleasant, aquatic floral. feels like a really fancy overpriced fruit-infused water at a hotel spa. i disagree with the people who are saying this is just rose-- i'm really getting the water lily, i think it's that fruity-lemony addition that's so common in rose fragrances that's convincing people's noses.

This is a very balanced fresh - floral fragrance. I get a very fresh blend of the middle notes: magnolia, pitaya and water lily. Nothing is overpowering, and to my nose it's all well balanced. You have to enjoy these notes to enjoy this fragrance. I'm not a huge fan of magnolia but I don't mind it here.

This is such a pretty watery clean floral! Reminds me of walking on the beach after just showering. It’s very much a shampoo scent. My boyfriend smelled it though and didn’t like it. He said it just smells like soap. It reminds me of Miami Glo by by JLO in that they are both summer soapy scents.

reminds me of la jolla. first spritz has the sea air and lemon; as it dries it's reminiscent of walking along a cliffside over a beach, surrounded by blooming trees. fresh, clean, not really my thing, but great at what it's doing! i dislike magnolia but it doesn't bother me in this.

This smells very similar to Versace’s Bright Crystal on me - probably the way the citrus and aquatic/ice notes come thru. Bright Crystal is like Lucienne’s louder cousin, lol. I already have BC, so I don’t think I can justify a full bottle of Lucienne. Pretty tho!

i put this on my hand 10 minutes ago and i’m already struggling to smell it :( smelled nice; very watery, fresh, and floral but honestly the water lily perfume from sprouts smells nearly identical and it costs $10 so i don’t see a reason to buy this perfume.

Breezy, airy, aquatic white floral, very beautiful and delicate. Clean and elegant, a great everyday scent. It’s definitely reminiscent of other fragrances on the market, but nonetheless very pretty. Sits close to the skin for around 4-5 hours.

Super watery and marine, quiet and polite and not very long lasting. Smells like what the inside of a pink conch seashell should smell like. Also reminds me of lazy sunday morning Maison Margiela but a little less soapy.

This is about as aquatic as I can venture... Liis does fragrance well! Fresh, clean, classic, pretty.

It’s pretty. Kinda reminds me of a more elevated Ocean di Gioia with more aquatic touches .

I do like this scent it's a clean floral shampoo like scent and easy to wear but quite plain and done before ... I immediately got nostalgia for something I wore as a teen in the 90s.. someone else also said they smelled It on women before and they're right. But it wasn't a chanel or anything expensive, I only wore things like Calvin Klein and Happy because I couldn't afford anything luxury. And I definitely had this fragrance, I just don't remember what one it was.. but save your money (try Bo from Liis is super unique and lasts long) it doesn't last either and you can get a much less expensive identical scent that I know lasted longer, maybe sample some popular 90s perfumes lol. If I figure it out I'll edit this..

‘Lucienne’ from Liis starts of as a soapy and somehow generic floral fragrance. There is a slight citrus element in the very frist few seconds and a sweet water lily, but it dries down and off before you really get to notice it. I read the notes and stop at Pitahaya, and have to admit that I don’t really think that Pitahaya smells nor taste like anything...? I can undertand the vibe of this, a carefree tropical island vacation, but it is nevertheless too soapy and lowkey boring. I wanted more contrast from the amber, and maybe a bit stronger florals or more zesty lemon. Anyways, it is a fresh and easy reach summer perfume, but it stops at that.

My overall impression of Lucienne is: aquatic florals, tropical fruits, some solar notes and citrus. Salty minerals and ambergris in the drydown. That's about it. Nothing revolutionary, I think this scent stands out a lot less than some of the others in Liis's collection. It has a very tropical-scented shampoo thing going on, but it fades away quickly- I wish there was more of a lingering white musk element or that the soapiness stuck around for longer. There are definitely more affordable scents out there with a similar profile, so I'd say this is a pass for me on a full bottle.

I am a Liis fan girl and this fragrance is very much my scent profile of choice. I want to love this the way I love Ethereal Wave and Rose Struck because it is exactly what I want in a fragrance, I just can’t smell it. I can for maybe 5 min before it disappears completely on me. I tucked her away for a bit hoping with some macerating time and maybe a change in my nose will bring me what I am looking for. Because what I can smell, I love. I just want more of it.

The magnolia and citrus are very photorealistic and I quite like that about Lucienne. Unfortunately the aquatic note waffles between actually aquatic and a shampoo-soapy note that I just don’t like. Pleasant but not groundbreaking or even a fragrance that particularly keeps drawing you in. This would be a great aquatic floral for those who love the “clean girl” thing, I think. If you like things a little more mysterious, complex or sexy, this is not for you.

This is a pretty, crowd appealing, light and soapy-shampoo smell where you can smell the pomelo shining through floral notes. With that being said, I don't exactly think it is a very special scent. I cant shake the thought that I have smelled this fragrance before. I also get a heavy dose of rose, which isn't in the scent description at all. I keep thinking it could smell like melrose place by Ouai, but I am not quite sure.

Purchased a sample. Very clean, very strong-- a little woodsy, a lot of wet. Feels less like a tropical scent and more like a quiet, clear day on a riverbank with a glass of lemonade. She's a little complicated-- has an undercurrent of spoiled sunscreen that probably isn't for everyone, and isn't for me. And yet she has that allure. Definitely a spring or summer fragrance. A bit unisex, but on the feminine side.

fresh salty ocean waves in the morning sunrise. its this coastal creamy skin scent that is very interesting. the white flowers are crisp and green and it's a very realistic take on florals. i find it very unisex too. the ambergris adds this sort of dirty animalic undertone that brings out a more indolic aspect from the florals. its a very transparent and quiet scent, but definitely uniquely safe.

This is a VERY soft clean fleeting scent. At first spray I do smell lemon, water lily, magnolia, and a slight rose smell. It’s nice but gone within an hour. I even asked my husband in case i became nose blind to it. It stays fresh on the skin but with no solid ground it just smells like after shower wet skin.

Super duper flowery. Kind of reminds me of something I would smell in a magazine as a child sniffing samples. I generally love Liis fragrances but this one doesn’t really wow me. It smells “pretty” but also a little too cloying. Very lemony and very aquatic, a bit too cleaner smelling for me.

Very clean, floral, aquatic, and light. It’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just that the other Liis scents are much more interesting. There’s just nothing stand out about this one. It’s nice, most people would say it smells nice, just nothing sets it apart from other scents just like it.

So nearly made a rookie error and bought after an hour on skin. The base notes of ambergris made me feel actually nauseous. It’s the very light, beautiful and 90s style aquatic I’ve been looking for, for about 2 hours but after that it’s gross, with a savoury and rotting base.

It's a quite generic fresh, pretty workplace scent. Kind of reminds me of Coco Mademoiselle EdT with the same citrus opening, but more floral and feminine. Smells kind of like a fancy boutique soap. I'm not getting any rose like some people are mentioning.

This is very floral. Heavy magnolia. A very mature fragrance. I agree with the commentator who said the old-fashioned rose soaps. Extremely floral heavy and I don’t get any other notes except for Magnolia and waterlily. Definitely sample first.

a light and aquatic juvenile shampoo-like scent. evokes more outdoor pool than ocean to me the pomelo in the opening and ambergris are really nice but this still feels cheaper & less complex than liis's other scents for the price point

I really love aquatics (and I own DS& Durga's Rose Atlantic), but I do not care for this one. I think you need to enjoy magnolia. For me, it's a bit heady and generic. Maybe not a safe blind buy unless magnolia really rocks your world.

A typical aquatic freshy/clean scent that has that sharper vibe. It's not very unqiue and the longevity just isn't there. It's nice, but I'm not sure if it's $175 nice.

Lovely simple citrusy and aquatic scent. Exactly to the notes. But it's too simple for me

On first spray it smells powdery & marine. I was hoping for the beachy, citrusy fragrance others got and instead I got grandma's boudoir. Definitely not for me. I get no citrus at first - I think the primary note I get is the magnolia with a hint of the sea note. Several hours later, I still get the florals and the sea notes, but much more subdued and the citrus is almost distinguishable. This smells much more wearable after sitting for a while, I really dislike the first few hours of this fragrance. This lasts much longer on paper than on skin. On both projection is intimate, and while it’s ascertainable at first, it dries down to a skin scent almost immediately. On the skin, longevity is probably the weakest I’ve ever had with a fragrance - 1 to 2 hours at best.

Liis Lucienne was a familiar, nostalgic grandma scent for me. It reminds me of the rose scented shaped bathroom soaps grandmas have in their bathroom. Definitely not for me.

Sea Salt with slightly sweet citrus & florals. Breezy & light summer scent. Not intriguing nor unpleasant but it doesn’t do anything for me.

Rose isn’t listed but the main floral note I get is rose. It’s a nice freshie but rose haters beware.
