Oui Je T'aime

the bottle and packaging are very pretty so points for that! this is a very warm autumn fragrance, mature smelling too. it’s nice but it just doesn’t suit me.

I smelled this in a small toiletries shop, and it immediately triggered a very specific memory, or maybe more of a vision. Imagine: a medium-sized European town where EU money had just started flowing in. Locals are opening small shops, boutiques and cafes. A place that once felt sleepy and depressed is slowly coming alive. People aren't so poor anymore and the new money crowd is about to make it's appearance in few years. As a very young person, you are feeling very excited by this rapid change. After school, you go to one of the new cafes where they served exotic things like espresso, flat whites, and French tarts. Sitting there, you feel like a sophisticated city woman, maybe like someone you've seen in an American film on TV. You order the cheapest drink on the menu and sit not too far from an elegant woman in her 40s. She has a platinum bob hair and has glasses perched just so. You are not sure if she really is demure and sophisticated or if she is putting a front like you do, because she also wants to feel like one of those women on TV. She is sipping a cool drink, cappuccino or flat white, and she smells exactly like this fragrance. Her perfume has an insane projection, you don't have to sit close to her to smell it. Anyway, the actual fragrance I tested doesn’t have that same power. The projection is weak, the sillage is minimal, and the longevity maybe an hour at best. The vision was exciting, but the perfume itself? Don't like it.

I tried this in a drogery. After a pleasant fruity start, it's gone fast and dried down to smelling like an auntie, who pretends to be wealthy, whenever occasionally visits the family, but that smell is cheap Turkish bazaar soap... After an hour, the whole experience is gone. And for that, it's very overpriced to give any money for it. I tried Si, and that was a pleasant scent, this dupe is not delivering.

I remember getting this fragrance on my teen years, it is very cheap and for a parfume with such low price point, honestly it performs well. You cannot except wonders from it, it's pleasant in all it's sweetness, but pretty much that's it. I'd say it's more suitable for winter, the fruity/sweet notes can be "too much" for someone who prefers fresh scents, feels heavy yet lacks the complexity, but still, a great choice to smell pleasant without spending a lot of money.
