Curve Crush

First off, I just want to say how wrong the Curve bottles are...they look cheap and sporty and just don't match what's inside.They are the only reason I put off trying the Curve line for as long as I did. Crush is my favorite of them all. I have many different perfumes...all from different price ranges and I have to say that Crush makes it to my top 15 favorites. Interpretation of scents is such an individual and personal thing and I have read so many reviews saying this smells only like baby power or like berries and powder but I get something different from Crush.....and so much more! This may be too much information but there are a handful of scents(Womanity being one of them) that immediately upon smelling them stir something in my second Chakra ( that would be the Orange one....where the reproductive organs are) and I mean that literally....I get a tickle-y feeling right in my lower belly and feel a complete sense of love and comfort.Crush..to me...smells of salty air and old fashioned dusting powder( not baby powder,)cedar chips,patchouli and white musk with a touch of fruity sweetness....maybe concord grape...if I really get my nose down in there. The overall effect is a comforting yet sensual mixture that brings to mind the smells of opening an antique cedar chest in a dusty attic filled with still-crisp linens and dried rose petals.I also have another special association with this scent that..to me...is so magical.While overnighting at the beach several months ago, we were caught in an crazy, blustery storm.The weather was so bad that the old hotel shook and creaked and I could not sleep at all. I was wearing Crush during this entire trip (that's all I brought with me.) I stepped outside onto the balcony while the chilly,moist wind swirled this scent around me. Just then a most amazing creature appeared along the sloping cliff. It was a white coyote! It's fur lit up by the moon, it ran swiftly towards the sea but stopped just long enough for me to get a good, positive ID. It was a magical night and whenever I smell Crush I remember it. Ahhh...the power of it all!

With the weather turning chilly here in the Midwest, I'm craving comforting, warm, cozy scents lately. I was in the mood for something new, so I used the search by notes feature on Fragrantica (which is an amazing tool btw): milk, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, and musk. Only a few matches came up and Curve Crush was one. Color me shocked... I've always overlooked the entire Curve line, assuming there could be nothing interesting in such garish, tacky bottles. Certainly this particular flanker with it's bright purple juice and wonky silver font and name like 'Crush' does little to lead anyone to think this is anything more than a generic sporty-sweet fragrance made for tweens. But I digress. Finding the 3.4 ml EDT spray cheap and widely available online, I blind bought it immediately. And I'm so glad I did! Upon first spray, I understand why some reviews say it smells like baby powder, but within a few minutes it opens up and I smell the milky Chai notes along with the powdery notes, and they actually work well together. Not too sweet, not too spicy. The drydown on me is all vanilla musk, with a hint of Chai spice remaining. The silage is low to moderate, however the longevity on me is impressive for an EDT, a good 10-12 hrs! Call me crazy, but this reminds me of the original Hypnotic Poison (circa 2000) with it's strong milky/powdery/vanilla presence, and even that odd new-doll plastic-y note (some say Play-Doh) in the mid to drydown stage... some people may find it off putting but I rather enjoy it. That dolly note doesn't come across as strongly in Crush, but it's there. I'm so glad I found this! It's just a perfect, uplifting, casual scent to warm up the chilly fall days ahead! Oh my god, this is so awesome. If you are too young to have smelled this when it first came out, do NOT sleep on it. It fits in so well with the trend of younger women today to wear warm and milky and slightly spicy 'skin scent' gourmands. I was biased against this for a while because of how it looked in the bottle -- I assumed from the time period and color and packaging it would smell like a Victoria's Secret body mist or like Viva La Juicy or Pink Sugar, both two styles of '00s staples that I find a little old fashioned and uninspired. I think Gen Z women and younger millenials nowadays tend to go for gourmands that aren't super saccharine or candy sweet but more warm, gentle and sensual, with airy and approachable names like "You" or "Cloud". And then I saw the sample I had of this and the juice was literally neon highlighter pink and I was so ready to skip over it. Everyone, this is such a cozy, milky, slightly peppery and tea-like horchata with a touch of creamy ginger. It actually reminds me a bit of Replica Tea Escape, and not only is that my favorite fragrance of all time, IT GOES FOR CLOSE TO $500 on eBay now. This is absolutely not remotely a dupe for Tea Escape, but if you missed out on it, consider trying this for something in a similar vein. Lasting power is of course, much shorter though, because Tea Escape really has a presence. The only downside is being of its time it does have a bit of a baby powder opening, but luckily it's not overwhelming and it does dissipate after 15 minutes. I'm glad more modern fragrances have done away with that because I don't want to smell like I just changed a diaper. Whaaaat? They made fragrances like this 20 years ago? I just got schooled for sure. Welcome to my collection, you hi-liter pink visual abomination. It's what's on the inside that counts.

I'm really enjoying this one! This was a blind buy and although I initially regretted the purchase, I am so glad I got this! I love ELDO's Fils de Dieu du Riz et des Agrumes and this smells very similar in the dry down so I'm happy to have another fragrance that evolves into a warm, spicy, milky coconut and lime base. If you don't enjoy the opening (which I'm not a fan of) just be patient and wait for the majestic evolution of this one. Be warned, this opens as very strong and pungent baby powder. Imagine opening a brand new box of baby diapers, yeah, that's Crush's opening and it is eternal. As the top notes disappear the heart can be appreciated. This phase reminds me of Latte D'Or by Le Monde Gourmand. A spicy and lactonic candied orange with a noticeable doll head tinge (just like my beloved Gucci Rush). Finally the base is revealed: mouthwatering, savory, milky-fleshy tender coconut drenched with realistic lime juice and sprinkled with spicy cardamom. I'm definitely getting multiples of this perfume just to be sure I never run out! Oh! One last thing to add. I've been obsessed with the discontinued Versace perfume V/S from the 90s since it was released. Nothing smells like it and there is not much out there (still in production) that resembles it slightly. ELDO's Fils de Dieu is so close but not a replacement. Crush is even less of a replacement but if you loved V/S and want to catch a whiff of something to remind you of the very particular and one of a kind dry down of the greatest perfume ever created, then run to your local Ross and get a bottle of Curve Crush!

I love love love these kinds of scents. Creamy and softy spicy. Very comforting, great for bedtime wear. It reminds me of The Body Shop's Shea fragrance, but less aromatic, but has the same softly spicy warm creamy nutty feeling. Curve Crush starts out spicy with cloves and slightly sweet citrusy. Here the opening reminds me of some or caharel's perfume openings that I used to love in the 90's. The spice becomes softer and makes way for the creamy milk notes, spiced and sweetened by sugar and cinnamon. The cinnamon isn't a sharp spicy cinnamon, but a sweet one, like horchata or milky chai tea. Although it's not in the notes listed, I smell maybe a violet leaf that sort of makes the composition slightly powdery? After that it reaches the drydown stage which consists of mostly white musk, soft vanilla, and a bit of milk and cloves blended together but without the spiciness. I consider this unisex leaning feminine because it's not overly floral or sugary, I think men can wear this nicely. Plus the sweet spice is sexy. Unfortunately, the silage of this toilette is like none. I have to really dig my nose into my skin to smell it. You can hardly over spray it. I have the dabber and I am applying it everywhere, short of just pouring it on me and the scent is not really radiating. It doesn't last very long either. Probably one hour. I'm trying it in the winter, perhaps it will project better in the summer but I don't think this type of scent is suitable for summer use anyways. A shame. Maybe I'll apply it to my clothing.

Update: Because of the previous reviews, I decided to give it a wear. I wore it out for the first time in years, and maybe it's my body chemistry, but on me, the only notes that come through are the milk, cinnamon, sugar, musk, vanilla, cloves, and pepper. Within five minutes of first spraying it on, it settles and smells yummy & cozy, and I was constantly complimented. In my opinion, IT SMELLS LIKE WARM CHAI LATTE WITH EXTRA CREAM. Everyone's chemistry is different and will pull different notes, that's will all perfumes. This is a cheap perfume, so just try it and see; if you don't like it, resell it. This was the first perfume that I ever purchased as a teen. A comment below states this was released in the 80s, I never knew that. I always thought this perfume was so sexy and seductive, with its musky, spicy, creamy, sweet vibe - not for children, and I probably shouldn't have been wearing this in high school. Now that my nose has become accustomed to higher quality fragrances, I can definitely say this smells like its price, but it still smells pretty. I have a bottle that I spray in the air every once in a while. I no longer wear it because I cannot take the initial alcohol blast. Someone else said CC smells old, but imo it doesn't. Most people equate musk-scents to "old-lady" because it gives off a powder vibe, but it lacks the other notes that would give this a "grandma" scent.

DOUBLE REVIEW (WIFE AND HUBBY) This is my wife talking: "From the opening, I immediately smell baby powder. After about 30 minutes to an hour, the baby powder transforms into a wonderful, soft, powdery scent, and is then joined by cinnamon and milk (no clove at all). This combination comes across strongly as Chai tea. Powder and Chai tea are two of my favorite fragrances, and I love the flavor of Chai. For me, this is an all-around winner!" This is me talking about her wearing it: "At the opening, my nose detects a sugary-sweet floral note, but not any flower in particular. I also smell the powdery vibe, but it is not as prominent for me as it is for her. I get a powdery blast on her skin, but not baby powder. This lasts through the mid. After dry-down, the powder persists but is more soapy than before. Instead of the cinnamon that she smells, I get more of a mild floral DNA accompanying it." It is a very pleasurable scent, and we both love it on her!

I love this perfume. I will always have it in my collection. I got my bottle 10 to15 years ago, though, and was not a fan at first. It does smell like VS Heavenly which was quite popular when I was growing up in the 90’s, guessing that’s why it seems familiar and some have compared it to Lutece which my mom wore. I would love to experience those again and compare. I don’t know anyone who wears Curve Crush, though so that’s a plus. I don’t think this is a safe blind buy, as it could be too much for some like it was for me the first few times I tried it. Not appropriate for most girls as it is pretty powdery and spicy, not the usually fruity, candy or soft floral scents that girls prefer. This is a warm cozy chai spice hug that is perfect for fall or winter. It does give me a sweet grandma baking ginger snaps vibe and I find it quite comforting, but feel that two sprays are enough as it’s quite strong to me.

When I was a kid, this was one of the perfumes on the dresser of my friend's cool older sister. It was my favorite she had! Years later, I excitedly bought a bottle to revisit. And I'm glad I did! It opens with this extremely artificial powdery smell- embarrassingly so. I make sure to put it on at least 15-20 minutes before I want anyone else smelling it. THAT SAID.... It's a staple for me. I love the powdery sweet lactonic notes. If I want to smell sweet, I'll layer this with basically anything to add or amplify those notes. I personally only really notice the milk, vanilla, sugar, and musk notes- though wouldn't be surprised if the cardamom, cinnamon, tea, and pepper are what really keep it from being too cloying. I don't really wear it on its own though, it's so mild. I'm maybe halfway through my bottle, and will absolutely be replenishing. It's a perfect and nostalgic layering scent for me!

I've been wearing this scent for over 10 years now, and I can never get enough of it. While it is one of my favorites, it is also my "safety" perfume. I find I can wear it anywhere, for any occasion, during any season, day or night. The scent lingers on my clothing for days, and I love that. I find that if I reach for a scarf days later that I've sprayed this scent on, it is still there. I sprayed it on my letters to my husband when he was in Military Basic Training. The scent was still there after traveling over 1500 miles. I get compliments on this all the time, and when I tell people it's Curve Crush, they're amazed. To me, this scent is lightly sweet yet calming. I don't really sense an floral notes in this, but can certainly sense the milk and sugary notes. While some consider this perfume too juvenile, I disagree. I find it befitting for any lady, younger or older!

I got this in a gift set when it 1st came out years ago back in 2003 and liked it. The scent reminds me baby powder with hints of cinnamon,floral & musk..IMO this is love it or hate it scent. I actually like it a lot now more than I did when I 1st got it years ago lol this is another one that I'm surprised never turned on me,my bottle pretty much has been sitting for years hardly used (my bottle is filled up to right before where the glass starts to curve!!) I think it was too powdery for me back when I got it and it still smells the exact same 12yrs later lol I used it around New Years for the 1st time in years and instantly fell in love with it....its like discovering it all over again but now really loving it! #oldiebutgoodie *Lasting power is excellent,it lasts a long time and can be heavy imo 1 or 2 spritzes goes a long way!

I gave this perfume a scathing review on another site about twelve years ago. However, I gave Curve Crush another try after my mother gave me a mini bottle. Guess what? I have had a change of heart (or my body chemistry has changed). What was once bitter scorn has been replaced by genuine love. What initially bothered me about Crush so long ago was the strong powdery note. While my nose still detects powder in the top note, it quickly fades to a soft, warm sugary and milky scent that gives me a cozy, snuggly feeling. Crush is unobtrusive and soft. I feel it reminds me of babies (the milk note?) and put me in the same comforting vibe as Clinique Simply. Both are great fragrances for fall and winter when you want to throw on your thickest sweater and drink hot ginger tea with milk and sugar.

This was a blind buy at a CVS clearance sale. Curve Crush is listed as a fruity floral, but I only smell fruity notes in the first minute or two after application (sort of a citrus/cherry blend), then it becomes a powdery spicy/sweet perfume, pretty much a gourmand. To me it smells like an exotic milkshake which is blended with spices, very appealing! It does not have that unpleasant "baby formula" note that I have smelled in other perfumes with milky accords. This milk is creamier, more like sweetened condensed milk. The drydown adds a clean musk accord. Sillage and longevity are pretty good, although I had to overspray because I bought the "fine fragrance mist" version of this perfume, which is similar to a body spray.

A dear friend of mine gifted me with a concentrated rollerball of this several years ago. She wore Curve Crush like something that had been commissioned just for her (as she did Paul Sebastian Design - both were astonishing on her). Although I hate the scent of baby powder with every fiber of my being, there are enough ingredients in this concoction that negate that tendency and make this one of the best fragrances offered in the past 25 years, IMO. The chai and the vanilla are so noticeable and well-blended that they keep this fragrance from descending into (god help me) Love's Baby Soft territory. This is a great, intriguing fragrance, and I will wear it as long as it is made.

I don't think it's old lady. My daughter does. I think it's divine. I sprayed it on after my shower yesterday and today, almost 24 hours later got whiffs of powder and vanilla chai tea yum. I think people better just accept the old lady perfume references because it's part of today's slang and has been for years. Many young girls and young women prefer sweet, light florals or candy scents and are intimidated by strong spices and bold florals, those old lady scents our grandmas wore. I know because I was one who preferred light scents,but my nose and tastes have evolved. Let my daughter have my sweet , girly scents...I'll keep my old lady fumes to myself, no shame.

When I was younger I went so crazy head over heels for this sent. Its more of a casual day sent and I like to layer it with sweeter sents. On me this is not fruity but lightly floral and is heavily musky and powdery. At first spray it is very heavy without a doubt but the dry down is good. Longevity is really great too! I love to layer this sent with Mariah Carey Luscious Pink and these two together are just so incredibly sensuous they compliment each other so amazingly well. Overall this wouldnt be on the top of my list to repurchase but I could see my self repurchaseing.

I used to have the original Curve, and it smells like summer time, fresh and fruity. This, this took me completely by surprise! Floral fruity?? More like spicy, powdery gourmand! I'm really digging this! I wore it to work and while the sillage is moderate to soft, it lasted throughout my shift. I kept getting wafts of clove and cinnamon, mellowed by vanilla. The milk adds a creaminess to it. Judging by the reviews, this is a love it or hate it perfume and it seems to be dependent on skin chemistry. An inexpensive, but wonderful blind buy.

I guess this is one of those scents that either works well with your skin chemistry, or it doesn't. I have received so many compliments on this perfume. It on me smells exactly like a fresh green spicy yet cozy chai latte. The fragrance has a slightly powdery note, but in my opinion, the best fragrances often do. Based on these other comments, I would say this is not a safe blind buy, but if you were to ask me I would say otherwise. The price point was a big selling point for me on this fragrance. Glad I blindly bought!

Most comforting scent in the world. I’ve worn this for longer than I can remember. I just sprayed the last few sprays and am going to Walgreens to buy another bottle. I spray it on my sheets, but also wear it sometimes just to putter around the house and my husband loves it. It smells like baby powder and chai tea with milk. Sweet and light yet it last all day for me. It’s not a powerhouse so when I say lasts, it’s just faintly there but you will get whiffs through out the day. It has a calming effect on me. I love it.

I love this perfume. Sure, it opens with a baby-powder smell, but that dissipates as soon as you start moving. You soon get the "clean" notes- a cosy, VERY subtle vanilla-spice vibe. Vanilla fades slightly during the day, while the cinnamon notes linger for longer. No matter how many times I spray it, it has never given me a sensory headache (which is often a problem for me with other fragrances). Perfect for everyday wear, though I'd mostly recommend it during winter, and fall. It's definitely one of my favourites :)

I like this especially on days when i just wanna lounge in the house and still want to smell good. I bought this because comments below likened it to horchata which is one of my favorite drinks. It didn’t disappoint because it really does remind me of horchata. It has that creamy and milky vibe that makes me feel so warm and comfortable. It has that tad cinnamon spice that adds a pleasant note. It is like eating cinnamon sticks/cinabbon buns and then snuggling happily under the blanket vibe. Very happy with this!

Curve Crush was the first perfume I ever owned. It was a Christmas gift from my parents, and I wore it throughout middle school and high school. I continue to wear it to this day, although my perfume collection has grown massively since that time. But it is one of my favorite scents and I will never be without a bottle in my collection. It's a very cozy, creamy, spicy floral that can be worn year round. I think the fragrance is so unique and special. I don't own anything else like it.

It's like having a glass of horchata after a clean fresh "everything shower". I love it and it is a safe blind buy. I can see reaching for this well into the winter and wearing to work that will appease a lot of people around me, as it is not overbearing and works well on the skin. The longer it sits, the more the powder comes out and sugar without being too sweet. Definitely soft without being lost. I wasn't expecting to love it this much!

I am wearing this as I type this, and it just smells amazing. It has a milky, cinnamon sugar, vanilla, creaminess to it. I also def pick up the clove and tea notes. I just love it. It's a very warm and comforting fragrance, in my opinion. I layered this with the EOS Vanilla Cashmere lotion and the Curve Crush body spray as well. It's a soft, feminine, slightly spicy, sweet, milky, sugary fragrance. I've gotten several compliments today. :)

I first smelled this on one of my classmates in college a few years ago. Every day she would walk by me and I would think how amazing she smelled, I asked what she was wearing and it was this! On the right person it obviously can smell amazing. I do like it on myself too! I owned it a few years back and must have given it away, but I was craving it recently so I have a bottle on the way and I am hoping it smells as good as I remember!

I got this scent in my late teens or early twenties and never really appreciated it until last few years. I find as I get older I like the strong, spicy, musky perfumes that as a young woman grossed me out. Therefore, I see this more as a fragrance for women in later twenties and up. I love that cinnamon spice in this. Actually, not to long ago an acquaintance was wearing Curve Crush and I said, "Mmm what are you wearing???"

I just got this and I'm really liking it so far. It has a comforting shaving cream scent on me. Very milky, a bit like making chai. Because of the shaving cream connection I can see this one in the unisex category. I'm really liking it. Maybe not for a hot day but cool through warm days are fine for this one. Definitely a scent you could wear every day because of the powery soapy clean notes.

It has a cheerful Effervescence to the scent. It is girlish and confident. I am a male and I enjoy this on a woman with a young frame of mind. It smells carefree and fun. The price makes this a delight to both the senses and budget. This is a pleasant choice for the ladies. Curve Crush is a nice way to make a good first impression or let a guy know you are a woman worth spending time with.

This is just delicious! To me, it smells like silky cream, pumpkin pie spices and warm sugar! Just a nice, cozy scent for a cold night snuggled on the couch. Nothing offensive or harsh...just smooth, soft and milky. Smells of higher quality than the price would suggest. If it would last longer it would be one of my faves but it is cheap enough to reapply as often as needed.

Love Curve Crush for women but absolutely detest the male ( green container) version. Nothing alike. I find this smells like a chai tea flavored ice cream with whipped cream and cinnamon. Def cold weather scent. Oddly, I do get a similarity to VS Heavenly but I think its the same type of musk as this is a warm, cinnamon scent and Heavenly is a springy/ summer scent.

I'm not an expert on perfumes, I can't detect the individual notes and all, but I really like this perfume. I've been wearing it for quite awhile now. I don't get many compliments on it, but I like it and that is what matters. The scent isn't too strong. Many perfumes trigger migraines for me, but this one does not. I do wish the scent lasted longer.

I wore this the other day. It's from a decant I received from a friend. I plan on getting at least one FB of this. If you love powdery frags and scents along the lines of Jovan White Musk you will probably also love this Curve version. As the day wore on I kept getting this soft pretty powdery sillage. Curve is a definite love for this powder ho!

Milky, honey-sweetened chai tea served with a slice of cinnamon bread dusted with powdered sugar. For the times when you feel soft and feminine rather than intrepid and strong. The longevity is not great; on my skin it lasted around two hours and a bit longer on clothes. Sillage is modest as well, but this scent is more for your own pleasure.

Smells like horchata! Not a sophisticated scent by any means, but as a gourmand lover I love it. Smells like cinnamon milk. Doesn’t have any heavy notes, so it works for any kind of weather. Not cloying. A very light milk. Nothing like Kenzo Amour (surprised people think these are similar).

This does not smell anything like I was expecting it too and I’m glad. I love it. It’s very feminine and cozy/warm. By the notes I was kind of expecting a cereal scent and I don’t get that at all, thank god. I’ll definitely be buying a larger bottle when I finish this mini.

EASILY in my top 3 for women’s cheapies. You can get a large bottle for around $20. It’s warm and cozy. Definitely an amazing colder weather scent. I tend to wear it year-round though. To me, it smells like the milk left in the bowl after eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

This fragrance opens with a powder scent with a hint of cinnamon. At the dry down, the powder mellows out and the milky vanilla chai comes out for a heavily aroma. I will be wearing this on a regular basis, during the day and night, spring, summer and fall.

Coziness personified, smells like cinnamon clove chai and vanilla cookies. Sweet, spicy, and lactonic, works surprisingly well in the heat and the cold. Lasts for 12hrs, can smell it on clothes well into the next day. Super affordable, worth purchasing.

I don't know why anyone can have a bad review of this perfume, personally I love it and through my eyes, it does smell expensive and it's really good for it's price.A girl in her tweens to twenties can pull off this one just fine, unique & delicious!!!

I adore this scent; very cozy, creamy chai my only wish is that it lasted longer. It’s so cheap though, you can treat it like a body mist and apply as often as you like. I sprayed my bed and pillows with it as well!

You could never make me hate this fragrance. The chai tea smell is AMAZING. It also kinda has that note I can only describe as a "typical men's cologne smell", but I would be lying if I said I didn't like it.

Hmmm, people compare this to Lutece, my Mom wore that, maybe why I like Crush and going against many comments, my teen hates Crush, thinks it's old lady and strong...

This smells quite good. To me the smell is fresh yet cozy/creamy or milky at the same time and to me this is somewhat powdery. I love it!

This is nothing like what I expected at all. I get the references to VS Heavenly, but I like how the cinnamon keeps it unique.

Right when I apply this, I have to give it a minute or so for that intense alcohol scent to burn off. After the intensity of that, I feel a little anosmic to the perfume itself, struggling to find the opening. The projection and lasting power of this one are definitely a little less than some other Liz Claibornes (like Curve Chill) and other fragrances of a similar caliber, but I don't really mind. Right off the bat, I get a hit of that 90s floral musk, but thankfully it does not stick around as long or project as far as it does in other similar concoctions, which keeps it from getting too headachey for me, but it still sticks out as something that maybe wasn't necessary to this otherwise spicy, milky, warm aroma. Once you get past the alcohol blast and the obligatory floral musk, there's a delightfully fresh and crisp cardamom-tea-with-sugar accord going on in the opening. The suggestion of nondescript citruses appears here for me as well, adding a touch more sparkling crispness to the mix. This opening is lovely; I really wish it weren't carried by that signature 90s floral musk accord, but that's to be expected in a Curve perfume. After a few more minutes, the milk and the rest of the spices start peeking through. Don't be weirded out by the milky notes here. As others have said, the heart of this is more horchata than chai, with the milk making up the body of the opening and the spices accentuating it. It's soft, creamy, and rather comforting. Within an hour or two, the milk fades out as gradually as it came in, leaving a warm, spicy, deliciously sweet jumble of notes to fend for their own without that gentle cream tying it all together. Like with Curve Chill, one of my favorite parts of this is the drydown. On me, it turns into a spiced vanilla with the whispered suggestion of cherry tobacco. After about four hours, this turns into a faint and rather linear vanilla skin scent on me, with a hint of sugary spice to keep things interesting. Honestly, I'm rather impressed with both this and Curve Chill. This is a little sweet on me, but I like it. The milk-sugar-spice heart of this isn't something I was sure I would like, but it's very comforting and rather delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised by those interesting nuances in the drydown. If only it didn't have that headache-inducing floral musk thing going on in the opening — in other words, if this were just the Crush without any of the Curve... Even so, I couldn't wear this all the time. The atmosphere of dry milk starts to really get old around the three-to-four-hour mark for me, like whatever the equivalent of cloying is for lactonic scents. This is one you should sample for a few days (not a few hours) before you buy, to confirm you still like it enough to wear it. Personally, my curiosity was sated in a few wears, but I'm fickle. This is fairly unique in its class of fragrances, and signature-worthy for someone who can own that comforting spicy warmth and that unabashed milk scent.

I'm definitely team baby powder. Crush has always smelled like a sophisticated, drier baby powder to me, with a brief sweet cream at the top and a distant, fresh, almost menthol-like note from cardamom. It starts off quite citric and sporty-fresh if you were to take a whiff from the atomizer, and makes you question which direction this fragrance will head in. For me, it's a journey into warmed, purplish powder. Floriental, but not necessarily gourmand and edible. Despite how it's advertised, nothing really reminds me of an actual chai latte - the warmed floral and musk notes become center stage over time. I quite wish that the milky note stuck to me more than the florals, as it's very cozy. Regardless of my nitpicks, I still have a bias towards Crush because it was a perfume of my childhood. I'd spritz it on for fun during these wintery times of the year, and it's honestly taking me back to a time of gorging on sweet hot drinks, browsing the internet, and watching old cartoons. In any case I've come to appreciate creamy, blanket-y, vaguely spicy scents such as these. Neither hyper fruity nor sugary. It is musky, heaven forbid the cries of "old lady" pouring in before proper judgment. No, scents like these were unsung heroes when the rest of its femme peers started turning into straight Twizzler candy and milk chocolates. From a simple modern-day body spray, it does smell like how I remember, but so faint it's frustrating. None of the spices stand out either. Luckily, most edts seem to not break the bank; although I would recommend a normal 1- 3.0 oz size as opposed to a 0.5 oz. The modern (Elizabeth Arden?) smaller batches tend to be off in a rather unpleasant way (personal experience from a few years ago). Perhaps this Christmas I'll drop for a real 1.0 oz. I just wonder what the difference would be between the current EA formulation, and the formulation of my preteen years - circa 2006. It would smell rich if I ever tried wearing it to school - just one or two spritzes on the decolletage - and would last all day under my silly uniform polo to boot.

Originally owned this in 2003, if I had to guess. Right when it was brand new. It somehow left my collection, and I got nostalgic for it, as can often be the case with scent memories. When I originally owned it, I wasn't on Fragrantica or looking at notes, this was just a cheap perfume I bought as Walmart at the time. But...I love this. Yes, perhaps for the nostalgia factor. No one talks about this scent, no one seems to wear it. It's quite different from the usual offerings in today's perfume world. It smells a bit Y2K to me, and as an elder millennial, that's a nostalgic vibe for me. The scent itself is unique. Powdery, spicy, milky. It doesn't have the fruity sharp blasts or floral notes that dominate "modern" fragrances. As my smell-sense matures, I can really appreciate this fragrance for what it is beyond my own olfactory memories. This is a cheap thrill, smells different than what's on the market. Some people don't like powdery scents, I'm someone who has found that she does--they're unabashedly feminine and sweet and when done well, can be so gentle and beautiful. I find that Curve Crush belies her name and appearance (bottle). "Crush" seems to connote freshness; the clear purple glass hints at a grape scent, neither of them are present here. Yet at the same time, being in the market for nearly 20 years, the bottle is iconic in itself. I remember hating it, or growing embarrassed of her, but now I can appreciate Curve Crush for all that she is, and she will keep a treasured spot in my collection.

To me, Curve Crush is way muskier than expected. It's a light and clean musk with milky and floral aspects. On the other hand it does have spicy notes. I smell mainly cinnamon and cardamom. The interplay between the rather dry, dusty to powdery spices and the creamy musk base is quite nice and interesting. There is no huge developement in this, it just gets a bit more vanillic and sweet as it dries down. Smells like shower fresh skin musk, but dusted with cinnamon and sugar. It's moderately sweet, not too cloying. A spicy scent that is light and easy to wear, but lasts long on my skin. I wonder why this isn't recommended more often as a great cheapie. In my country there are no Liz Clairbone fragrances in any stores, I even had to order my sample from the USA. So if this has a weird reputation or was overused at some point, I obviously didn't pick up on that. All I can say is that it smells very nice and even quite unique. The only bad thing about it is the tacky bottle.

I just picked up bottle number idk today at Ross discount in US. I’ve given away a few other bottles I’ve owned because people always love it and it’s inexpensive so I have gifted them away. I’m never certain I want to smell like this until about 20 minutes in post app. And then I am transported to these: Snickerdoodle cookies baking in the oven. Comfortably nursing a precious, relaxed newborn baby with their slightly sweaty skin sticking to you...just inexplicably bonding away. A warm August evening with a humming fan rhythmically blowing warm air about the room w/the scent of powdery, half wilted flowers from the garden. Iced Horchata cooling off your tongue from the deliciously tangy yet very spicy escabache at our favorite Mexican Torres Cafe. Sitting in front of a cozy fire with a mug of Nestle Abuelita spiced cocoa wearing the socks that Nana knit for you before you went off to college. A hug from your mom, child, spouse. ...Yes. I’m glad I bought just one more.

After wearing this often this past month, I came to the conclusion that this is a gem. 1) It's simple and soft enough for everyday wear (office, hospital, restaurant environments). 2) It's cozy and comforting. 3) At the same time, it is sporty. Not cloying and works well in all weather. 4) An atypical sort of gourmand. Not foodie, but definitely smells of cinnamon milk-tea to my nose. 5) I'm unsure how all of these things can even fit into 1 perfume, but this scent makes it seem possible. 6) It lasts a whole day. 7) Great layering tool as a base for other, fruitier, fragrances. 8) It's cheap as heck! It's powdery, but not baby powdery, more like a cloud of milk if there was such a thing. Throw in sugar, spice, and everything nice. That's this. I think this would be a perfect signature perfume. I also think this fits young and old alike and find it nurturing regardless of age.
