Liz Claiborne

So Im a dude who first experienced this scent on my aunt back in the 90's, LOVED it and then purchased Liz Claiborne edt for my mom whom also fell in love with it. I just recently found a bottle for $15 at a rack store and couldn't believe how inexpensive it had become. I ended up purchasing a bottle for my mom again (now missing the red string with tag😑) as the one I had gotten her dacades past had long run out. Ufortunately, it has definately been reformulated and with the initial spray of this new bottle, I was very dissapointed as it smelled of pure alchohol (a far cry from the og). Anyhow, I gifted it to my mom again and she was so happy. Again, initially this smelled pretty off putting, but I think it was just the little bit that was already in the atomizer line, bc now after several uses it's pretty reminiscent of how it was before reformulation, only not as potent. Im honestly considering purchasing myself a bottle so I can use it for bed time as I find myself spritzing some on my hand just to sniff it now and then whenever I visits moms. It has such a comforting scent and not as "dated" as some others from the 90's. This is still a unique, BEAUTIFUL fragrance which I suppose I'll never grow tired of, and for that $15 price point, its a real steal! Still a beaitiful 10 outta 10 scent in my book! Love it always! ------UDATE------ So, I ended up finally purchasing a bottle for myself as I'm starting to put a small dent in my mom's bottle! This really is just so intoxicating to me, maybe someday I'll brave using this while im out and about vs only using it for bedtime 🌙.. had to grab one. 🫠🥴 Also, Ive gotta mention that after having it for a few months, Liz Claiborne edt has REALLY improved and is even closer to what the dna was like pre-reformulation. It's getting that GORGEOUS indolic characteristic which made me fall in love with it to begin with. If anyone was a fan of this back in the day, it's still very much worth adding to your collection, and with some patience and proper maceration, this will once again SHINE on you skin! I would have never ever imagined that I would fall head over heels for this fragrance again!! I didn't even look at it at the perfume store! The poor sales guy was trying to convince me to give it a try! To just smell it for crying out loud! I looked at him with an indifferent look and said "..that? No way.. I wore that when I was 12 I guess.." and looked the other way... HaHa! I came back 2 days later to pick up Guerlain's Cologne Du 68, and the sales guy suggested again that I should give that red triangle bottle a try! that its a very good buy (2 bottles for $16)... hmmm I thought ok I've nothing to lose... And the minute I smelled that piece of paper I froze! I was stunned at how amazing this humble scent was! At 35 this scent is on a totally different level than back when I was a kid/adolesent! I dunno maybe its my chemistry! It's actually a very mature ladylike fragrance, I would never have made the connection to the juvenile tri-color triangle bottles! And that was the main reason I had bought it as a kid back then! I just liked the bottle I guess bcz the fragrance itself did not impress me that much back then! Anyway, to make a long story short, at the end I was convinced and decided to purchase the last two bottles of LC EDT! And I'm glad I did thanx to the sales guy! And you know what, I totally agree LC really does remind me of Knowing, Diva, Shalimar and the like!

I’ve loved this since the 90’s. I have the vintage red triangle and just bought a new one in the glass triangle bottle for my collection. According to the batch code, it was made earlier this year, which amazes me because I can’t believe it’s still being made! I’ve read of people complaining that the current bottles being sold are fake because the glass bottle no longer comes with the red string with the Liz Claiborne logo on it. Once upon a time it was considered an upscale designer fragrance that could only be purchased at department store perfume counters, but now it’s an inexpensive drug store staple. I believe I read that Elizabeth Arden had bought Liz Claiborne fragrances some time ago. They might have taken away the red string from the bottle, but it’s still the same where it counts...the signature Liz Claiborne smell. The smell of the 2020 bottle takes me back to smelling it in my best friend’s bathroom in 1994-95. It’s still the same fragrance!!! I wore it today and it was HEAVEN with my body chemistry. It lasted a long time too. The fact that this is still being made 34 years after it first came out is a testament to the fact that there are many others like myself who will love and wear this perfume forever💜💜💜

Liz Claiborne was my “first love” perfume. I remember falling for it on a shopping trip to a mega mall in 10th grade circa 1988. How cliche right! It was such a fresh departure from the heavy, mature powerhouses of the era. I remember drenching myself in this stuff on Friday nights getting ready to go out with friends waiting to be picked up because I couldn’t even drive yet. Those were fun and carefree times and Liz takes me back to those moments. I bought a bottle recently for nostalgic purposes and it honestly stands the test of time. It is still distinctly “Liz Claiborne” and I have yet to smell anything that comes close to replicating it. It’s only missing the cloud of cigarette smoke that surrounded all of us in the 80’s to make the entire scent memory complete LOL. So lovely and so worth adding it back to my collection!

For some reason I REALLY like this one! I like it better than Knowing, as Knowing is soapier and more 'drill sargeant' to me. I have the original, and the EDP (Silver), and maybe it smells different, as ALWAYS, but I find it very suitable for job interviews/power & class jobs. This was the fragrance I wore to get my job in sales at DeBeers, with 8 male sales sharks plus me. I also wore it when I got my job at Mercedes Benz, again, 8 other men plus me. It is high class, rich-sexy, and I find that it doesn't smell like many others. I love lilacs. June, hot, summer, sex......subliminally sexy. Killer abs BTW Olga! (I am thinking of using my REAL pic here too, but I like the anonymity. I DO look a LOT like my avatar). Kind of a Kim Basinger/Charo(coochi coochi!)/Old Barbie combo! HA HA!

Funny what frags bring memories to you; how they can move you to attempt to recapture...something. My mother wore this scent. It was very of the time; strong, bold, female. I loved it, and knew when she wore it, she was also wearing a smile; going someplace special. I now wear it. I have for over ten years. I have only gotten more compliments wearing Jil #4. Not only does it last on my scent-eating skin, but it still smells incredible. It still makes me feel amazingly sexy. It still makes me think of my mother dressed up, smiling, on her way to something special. EDIT: My daughter, who was ready for a "Grownup scent", choose this as her first one yesterday. I was ready to just cry; she is now the third gen to wear this lovely fragrance in my family. Bottle: 8/10 Juice 10/10

This is a fragrance I rediscovered. I liked it well enough in the late eighties, but then stopped wearing it because it was all over the place! Found it again at Marshall's, I think I paid around $12 for it. It's a scent that is very recognizable and I think very different than many of the heavier, spicy, animalic perfumes of its day. It's really nice. I get a lot of fruit from top notes to dry down. Juicy pear and peach notes combined with freesia and a fresh, green undercurrent. It's very cheerful! I think that it is a spring and summer scent, I can't see reaching for it in the colder months, but I'm loving it right now.

This is for the pre 2007 version of Liz Claiborne which is one of the most beautiful, clean scents I've ever smelled. They don't make them like this good anymore. Liz Claiborne is a green fruity floral chypre. It has mint, peach, marigold, freesia, jasmine, lilies, carnation, moss, vetiver and honeyed sandalwood with a strong chypre leaning. Lots of clean musk, sandalwood and oakmoss. It lasts all day. This might be the most 80's smelling fragrance but that's not a bad thing. Nowadays this could be unisex due to the woods and moss.

This is to be smelled in the trail or floral-sweet-wafts when moving around. This smells completely different on the strip AND close up on skin (it's god awful terrible that way). However, I feel that's how it stays so soft, yet lasts 14+ hours! What ever you normally spray, spray 1/4 that and you will get what everyone is talking about. I don't get much musk, but just the kind of sweet that is from florals instead of vanilla, caramel, marshmallow etc. I get a tiny bit of amber, but florals are the main act.

I will always have a bottle of Liz Claiborne on my shelf, not only for nostalgia purposes, but also because it provides me with something different when all of my contemporary fragrances are boring me. Several of my friends owned this back in the day so I definitely remember that this is not a blind buy perfume as it smells different on each person as it blends with one’s unique body chemistry. Fortunately, it has always blended wonderfully with mine! In my opinion, a perfect 80’s fragrance ✨

I don't know what it is about vintage perfumes that are so attractive to me. And this one is no exception. It has a rich scent that makes me think of only an intelligent woman wearing this. I was drawn in at the first spray, and I can't stop sniffing where I sprayed it on my t-shirt! I've heard that this one too has been reformulated (Why is this even done?!) so if it once smelled better than it does now, it must have really been something.

A very unusual combination of a fruity note with a clean one, the staying power isnt weak, I can hear my edt spray next morning. The scent isnt plain and easy,I agry that it is a very young smell. For every age.Every woman will find her lovely note from this scent.I can find a very attractive note of lilac and freesia with a fruity note and I love it.

I just LOVED this fragrance. The bottle was a bright red triangle--so different from my mom's perfumes. And at 15 years old I wanted a scent that was my own. It was the first perfume that really stood out to me and made me think "ooh, I wanna smell good!". I would love to smell it again. Oh the memories!

Wore this to death in middle school. The color of the bottle was so appropo at the time because we were rocking neon socks and double belts with over-size shirts. I'm not sure of the six hundred notes Fragrantica has listed, but LC was a playful and flirty floral that was perfect for teens.

Wow wow wow. How could I have forgotten this one? Claiborne was my standard, daily go-to scent for years back in the 90s. It was the perfect mix of fresh and fruity, feminine, complex yet grounded. I always got compliments from it. If "happy" was a scent, this would be it. Great scent.

Fresh-Floral-Sweetish-Happy This is what Liz Claiborne (The Fragrance) says to me. I was in my early 20’s and working in the women’s fashion section at Eaton’s. I loved it when they would station me at the L.C. Boutique area. Memories of a carefree time of my life.

So sporty! So capable! It's the '80s version of modern that has still never truly become dated. I love this, mostly the vintage because it just seems more "real", more "livable", whatever that means about ingredients I don't know. The newer is a bit screechy.

Picked up a bottle from Marshall’s for the nostalgia factor. I wore it in my late teens, originally. It still smells great! Lots of freesia, just floral and slightly fruity and fun. I spritz it on when I want to feel a bit energetic.

I've never seen the black triangle...I am intrigued... maybe it is the PARFUM! I am drooling... I have the silver EDP, and I LOVE this stuff! Shocked at the low LOVE rating above... Very classy, friendly, strong & just lovely!

Scored a vintage bottle of Liz Claiborne pure perfume on EBay a few weeks ago..It is absolutely breathtaking! Such a joyful, feminine fragrance--an instant mood lifter. It's perplexing why this beauty was ever discontinued.
