Lucky You

I remember smelling this in a magazine when it first came out and thinking"this is nice, I have to try this". Never got around to it until last week when I got a tiny bottle of pure perfume. I really LOVE the scent-its very light sweet watery floral with a very slight powder note. As radchick said, very nice and feminine scent which in my opinion is suitable for all ages and occasions. I agree that its somewhat generic its I like it. However, I could barely smell it and I have parfum which is the strongest concentration. Maybe it was sitting there a while and potency have died down? I don't know so I am wanting to try edt or something because its really a lovely scent. P.S I disagree that it resembles the Spirit of Moonflower(or whatever its name is)from Body Shop. I owned that one and its much more floral and not as sweet, not even close to Lucky

I keep Lucky You perfume in my glove box, it is a great car air freshener. I get compliments from people all the time about my car smelling so good. I have allergies, and I really can't stand any type of commercial air fresheners, so I prefer to buy quality perfumes that are low cost and use them in my car and in my house to freshen the air. I used to love Luck You when I was in High School, but now it is much better suited to keeping my car fresh. Does anyone else enjoy using lower cost perfumes to fragrance there car or home???

This is a lovely feminine scent, likely to be acceptable to most noses. It's fruity-floral-fresh, not too sweet, and quite natural rather than chemical smelling. I do not detect musk or wood, which ordinarily I am sensitive to. I pick up mostly citrus-floral. Nothing sharp, nothing animalic. Very feminine and pleasant on first spray. I'd rate this a 'Love' if not for its poor longevity on me - not even two hours. Shame. Nice way to begin a Summer's day though. (I'm very puzzled by "soapy". I detect not even a hint of soap.)

Fresh, clean, light-floral. Its a casual everyday wear, could be a nice signature scent cause it never offends anyone. Its a toilette perfume so that's why it's not gonna last more than 3 maybe 4 hours, but it's worth the buy Ex boyfriend bought it for me for my birthday when it first came out in 2000

this one as been the perfume that i have gotten lots and lots of compliments from men!, i have used it since i was 18 its my signature smell, def my secret smell. the bad part it that it doesnt last at all =( oshhh i wish this would last. but still my favorite!!!

LOVE this fragrance!! Just bought a small bottle of the edt and it smells fabulous!! I can definitely detect fruity; floral notes that are very bright and dominant, and I've noticed that this has great longevity. Very happy with my purchase. :o)

I used to work with someone who bathed in this scent and believe me, it can get to a point where it's offensive....too much of a good thing is not a good thing.

I know I'm not the only one confused by Fragrantica's two entries for Lucky You (2000): one from Liz Claiborne, and one from Lucky You Jeans, a brand owned by the branding conglomerate known until recently as Liz Claiborne. Seeing as the listed notes are near-identical, I'll cross-post this review and assume these are one and the same. This is a fairly linear, mildly soapy, clean aquatic floral, with some signature peony musk happening in the background. Right away I'm hit by something that smells like lily of the valley, but a touch more aquatic and green..... mmmm..... water hyacinth! I really like it. What a beautifully simple, fresh and sweet floral scent. There's a bit of extra sweetness from the star jasmine, and no noticeable grapefruit to my nose, though I wouldn't be surprised if a tiny touch of that sparkling citrus contributes to the crispness here. For a floral, this is a little soapy and a lot aquatic. Calone isn't listed in the notes but I know it's in there, with its melon-fresh watery nuance, and there's definitely plenty of it. The soapy quality is thankfully much less than in many other fragrances from this era. Its quality is that of a pleasant mid-to-high-end foaming floral hand soap on display in a pleasant, small, and clean family bathroom. This is much more aquatic than anything I'd usually gravitate towards, but I like how fresh, clean, and slightly green it is in its gentle foamy sweetness. I don't think I'm the kind of person well-suited by this sort of fragrance, and I don't love soapy scents, but I just may have to revisit this one.

I just purchased a bottle of Lucky You "blind" over the internet because I'd read good reviews about it and so I was hoping I'd really love it. Unfortunately I don't! It is quite a pleasant, inoffensive perfume but nothing out of the ordinary or standout. To me it's very similar to Curve Crush in that it smells predominantly of baby powder. Much as I like the smell of baby powder (and I do use it myself!) I don't necessarily want a perfume that smells of it. Lucky You is nice enough, girly and quite light but it's just not distinctive enough for me and I find it a bit boring and one-dimensional. I may wear from time to time but it's not a perfume that I could ever see becoming a big favorite in my collection. Also, I really dislike the bottle which looks quite cheap so it's not pretty enough to display either! UPDATE: Since writing the above, I decided that even though Lucky You is pleasant enough it still isn't right for me as a perfume so now I use it as an air freshener and it's very nice for that purpose! It makes the room smell lovely and baby powdery and the scent lingers for ages!! Also, the bottle's not quite as tacky as I'd originally thought and I have seen much worse! ;o)

Like others here, I used to wear this back in high school in its original run. The newer Lucky You is close, but different than it was in the early 2000s. The newer iteration is a little less floral musk/powder and more watery musk/soapy. Not a huge difference to someone else, but enough of a difference to me. Even the bottle is different, now clear instead of pink glass. Still very clean and peppy energy with the peony and still a delightful fragrance. I prefer the original enough that I'll be leaving this one in the store every time. The sillage and longevity are fine, but again, not as good as it was. If you like a pleasant floral soapy musk, you'll like this as an inoffensive easy go to and people will compliment you.

Lucky You. Well, lucky me actually for having discovered this wonderful and budget friendly perfume many years ago. In fact, this was one of my first perfumes ever, and a high school signature scent. Now I like to wear other fragrances as well, but this is still one of my top four perfumes for sure. Lucky You is very sweet, citrusy, and floral. Actually, it is very hard to distinguish individual notes, but I definitely pick up nondescript sweetness and flowers. Uncomplicated and easygoing, Lucky You is something I throw on when going to school, the mall, running errands, etc. A great choice for casual daily wear.

I love wearing this to the office because it's very light and fresh. It's inoffensive and not too heavy, even with 3-4 sprays. It smells fresh, floral, and clean like a nice body wash. Lasts for several hours on my clothes. On my skin about 2-3. I will usually use my Lavanila Grapefruit Vanilla rollerball to touch it up later in the day and they work well together. I think this works well for any age, not just very young people. For anyone who wants to smell feminine and fresh. I don't get much musk in this on my skin so I find it's good for the gym.

This was my high school signature scent. I loved this and to this day I have a bottle no matter what. Brings back nice memories and it's very inoffensive. I wear it when I can't decide on anything and just want to smell good. Guys, including my husband, seem to love this scent. It seems to last forever and I get compliments when I wear it out, without fail. Something about it is just great with my body chemistry, I suppose, and it makes me laugh because it's so inexpensive.

The new Addition to the CLEAN fragrance line is called SKIN and it smells like Lucky You but it may be better! just a heads up. i used to LOVE LOVE this scent in middle school. update:: i tried them on my skin side by side and the two are nearly IDENTICAL! but lucky you dries to a light floral musk rather than a sharp citrus, so i think lucky you is better. It is to be discontinued, so get it while you can. i know wal-mart ant target always have it though...

This is a basic scent appropriate for work in my opinion. I wore quite a bit to work and 9 hours later I can still smell it. On me it's smells like I just took a shower in a house where everybody is smoking inside, fresh but smokey at the same time. When I first put it on I smelled similar but more crisp and citrusy. Though this could be a daily wear for some it will be an every once in a while wear for me.

This is a very nice perfume for someone that likes simple scents. It smells "good". It's very powdery but in a clean way. It reminds me of being in the 9th grade since it was all I could afford. :)Overall, it's a nice perfume for the price.

I have a friend that wears this everyday and I have to say that, for an edt, it sticks to her like glue. Lasts all day and gets more sensuous through the hours. It's a classic.

So wait, is there a difference between the this one and the other Lucky You listed here on Fragrantica?? The other one has more specific notes listed...

Lucky You is a classic. I can't think of a better perfume for everyday. It's light, inoffensive, and not overly sweet.

I like this, but I don't love it. I find myself now liking gourmands/floral n this is too citrusy for me!

An affordable clean and fresh floral. A little musk. A little wood. Very nice.

Bought the body spray. Very nice, I think I will try the perfume again.

This is one I really wanted to like. I've tried it several times, but every time there is just something I don't like about it. On me I smell an artificial, strong rose scent, followed by lots of powder. I usually like powder scents, but obviously not this one. This scent is harsh on me and almost headache inducing. I actually like the bottle and that it is pink, but other than that it's just not for me. I gave my bottle to my daughter, and I don't think she wears it either.

I'm so upset. I used to love this fragrance, but then I smelled Davidoff Cool Water. I disliked Cool Water so much that I can no longer wear aquatic fragrances because they remind me of it. I didn't notice this when my nose was unrefined, but this perfume has an aquatic melon note. Now I have to wash it off whenever I put it on. Although I still enjoy most of the notes, the melon note ruins everything.

I've tried this fragrance and to me it's just blah. It isn't offensive but it isn't interesting either.

Yay!!! I have been in search of a good, inexpensive floral freshie that doesn't have an objectionable cleanser or bitter, rubbery note that I detect in SO many of them (Elizabeth Arden True Love and Red Door Revealed, JLo Glow, and Bvlgari Rose Goldea Blossom Delight, etc....); happily, Lucky You fills the bill! Lucky You is a light, "pink," clean, laundry-musky, inoffensive, warm, baby-powdery scent. It may be somewhat generic, as the dryer sheet comparison that several reviewers mentioned, suggests, but that makes it no less pretty, in my opinion. As it dries down to a skin scent, after 3-4 hours -- so not great longevity (or projection, for that matter) -- surprisingly, it develops into a sweeter, almost berry-like scent as time passes. This is in sharp contrast to other musky florals, such as SJP Lovely and Born Lovely, that just completely disappear on me. In fact, discovering Lucky You made me see that SJP Lovely and flankers are not as impressive as I once thought they were. All in all, Lucky You is a really nice discovery, good when you need an inoffensive scent with limited projection and still want to smell fresh, clean, and pretty! :) By the way, I'm a little confused by the fact that there are two Fragrantica designer listings for Lucky You: Lucky and Liz Claiborne. Since I bought my $12 (!) bottle at Ross, and I've seen lots of other Liz Claiborne perfumes sold there (Curve, Liz Claiborne, etc.), I posted this review under the Liz Claiborne version.

If you like Skin by Clean but feel it's too warm to wear when temperatures reach a certain degree outside, then this would be a great substitute. They smell alot alike in the drydown. This starts off a little citrus-y from the pink grapefruit and is also kind of green smelling, much like how Daisy Eau So Fresh (btw, that's another fave of mine) opens, but this stage doesn't last very long. Soon, the florals come in that gets sweetened by the amber. This is where it just starts to smell like Skin by Clean. Musk then comes in to complete this scent making it a "your-skin-but-better" type fragrance just like Skin. The difference between the two fragrances besides the opening (Skin opens with a sweet honey-dew melon note) is that this one is lighter because it's an EDT. That makes it more suitable for warm weather while Skin by Clean is better suited for cool weather as it's a bit heavier and warmer smelling being an EDP. This is suitable anywhere including the office. It doesn't scream, it whispers. It's subtle, but definitely there. People have to be close, like sitting next to you, in order to smell it. What are the odds that I could find two scents that are very much alike, but one being suitable for warm weather and the other for cool weather so I can wear and enjoy this scent year-round? Plus, men just love these two scents on me. I've been told that on me, they smell quite sexy, seductive, and alluring.... Lucky me! ;)

Yes, I wore this religiously in middle school, practically bathed in the stuff daily. Like many of the fellow reviewers, I absolutely have fond memories of this perfume from my adolescence. I recently acquired it again through Fragrancenet (on a whim...to get free shipping...and out of curiosity as it had been YEARS since I smelled it). This is a beautiful and lovely perfume. And I am not just saying that for the nostalgia it surely evokes to my nose and to my heart....it is just a really nice perfume. Not necessarily the most complex, but it is very light, fresh, clean, completely inoffensive, sweet little number. I definitely do get slight "soapy" vibes. I'd like to think of myself as pretty good at deciphering different notes in perfumes (and I thoroughly enjoy doing so), but with this one, I really can't distinguish any of the notes from one another. They just kind of all blend together. In that way, it kind of reminds more of a body spray. Not a good or a bad thing for me, because, at the end of the day, it just smells dang good!

My first imprssion of this scent after I sprayed this scent was that it reminded me of fresh cut grass, very green. The drydown (on me) happened fairly quickly, and to tell the truth, I didn't care for the powdery smell of it at first. After a while I began to realize why it smelled semi-familiar to me- it smells like the roller rink! I have no idea why, but it brings me back to my days when I would spend countless hours at my favorite roller rink. I couldn't begin to describe it in terms of notes, but to me, it smells comforting.

My husband smelled this on a co-worker and liked it enough to ask her what perfume she was wearing....and promptly bought me a big bottle of it. Sigh....wish I liked it, lol! I don't hate it, but it just isn't rich or perhaps complex enough for me to enjoy it. I think I would like it better without the grapefruit and green notes? Maybe this is just too young for me...reminds me of a perfume a young boy might buy at the drugstore for the little girl down the street he has a crush on.

This reminds me of spring break college girls in the year 2000 because it was very popular then and I was a college girl in spring break too though I didn't own it then. Mine then was Strawberries and Champagne by Victoria's Secret. I have it now as it was a gift and wear it casually on weekends and spend the day outdoors. I find it sporty. It's pleasant as it has that clean shower type scent, if that is what you like.

I like this one. It is easy to wear. It smells clean, but I can't specifically detect any notes. It's not super citrusy, and definitely not sweet, at least not on me. I'm not sure where people get the sweet note from. It doesn't really smell particularly floral either. I really like it, but I can see how people would find it boring. I also liked it more the more I wore it. Thankfully it's not very alcohol-y.

I love it. On me I smell baby powder till the very end. It's clean and it stands out. I love the bottle...I love it all :) my coworker walked by me and said "wow it smells like air freshener like that stuff you shake on the carpet before you vacuum" hahah so theres a very specific comparison made by someone who didn't particularly care for it. But didn't hate it..... So that's a win !

Nice everyday scent. I remember it as sweet, powdery, soft. It worked very well with my chemistry. It felt like it was part of me. I wanted to make it my signature but like Glow...found at Target/Walmart. Nothing wrong with that but not my idea of a "signature". I loved it but had to keep looking.

I got this once as a gift. I wore it because it was fairly unoffensive but I wasn't crazy for it. Better than nothing but not "wow". I also recall that it had really poor staying power and I was frequently re-applying it. I didn't miss it when it was gone.

I got this as a gift in a roller ball stick form(if that makes sense)from my mother 2 years ago for Christmas. Not a bad scent at all and very good for work. Lasts a good while, fresh, simple and not over powering. It's a good standby.

Some of my favorite fragrances are inexpensive, and this is one of them. It smells like a fresh, sunny spring day. Totally can wear it anywhere without fear of being offensive. A good every day frangrance.

I remember wearing this years ago. This is the perfect daytime scent. To me, this is like a "cologne" for women if you can understand. It's the equivalent to a man's cologne but made for women. NICE!

this perfume is not my thing. i used to wear it years ago .. about 10 years ago to be exact. there is this one note that smells dirty like a sweaty/sweet gross smell. blehhh.

You can't go wrong with this one.It's smells like new denim jeans.

Doesn't really last long at all... has a nice clean smell though
