Spark

I bought this based on your reviews and because it is only $10 at Burlington. I love this. I could see it being a fall or winter signature scent. I do really get the resemblance to Original Guess, my good friend wore that in the early 2000’s. They both give me cherry coke vibes or is it Dr Pepper? Lol. My nose isn’t the most sophisticated, but there’s a hint of cherry or amaretto. Now I see why they called it Spark because it does kind of sparkle and give a fresh vibe even though it’s an amber vanilla. I suppose they were referring to a spark from a fire since it’s a little spicy! Don’t let the cheap looking bottle fool you! This is good stuff and it smells much more expensive than it is. They should’ve picked a more classy bottle, though than this cheap bright blue thing. That’s an old bottle pictured above. Looks much nicer than the current one. When I first sprayed it, I was blasted with florals and thought what, I thought this was a spicy amber scent?! But then the cinnamon, caramel and musk appear and it’s divine! It does remain pretty floral on me though with the other notes in the background. It seems to last hours too. I’d say 6 to 8! I just wish I would’ve discovered this beauty sooner! I went back and bought another bottle! Snag it if you like amber or spicy scents or even gourmands. I think it’s pretty unique in a world where so many smell the same! Edit: I own both Venice and Tabu and I don’t think these are similar, maybe somewhat, but only because they’re darker, spicier scents. Venice is more strong and spicy, and lacking flowers. Tabu has that yucky, bitter orange medicinal top note and no floral. I prefer Spark, it’s more complex than Tabu and Venice is so rare and expensive and well, Spark is more wearable than Venice or Tabu. Spark has that hint of freshness that the other two do not. They’re all worth having in your collection, though if you’re a collector.

A powdery, carmelized perfume that I enjoy, Spark is. Definitely worth picking up if you can find it and you enjoy simple gourmand fragrances that bring you back to pleasant sweetness without the overly cloying sugary scent of some on the market. I think of holidays and cuddles when I wear this one. It's a vanilla goodness. And I'm not that kind of cutesy woman at all. But I really like this scent. It's a "what smells good?" when you walk in the room perfume that people ask about, it's a safe fragrance that you can wear to the office, really, you can wear anywhere without offending anyone. It's just a safe perfume in the world of seductive perfumes that can mesmerize or alienate others. For me, it's the caramel and cinnamon with the cedar to balance to start, then it goes all soft and powdery but I do get a vanilla feel, which actually, for a lot of people, can be quite a weapon, too. After all, isn't food the way to some people's heart? Perhaps that's why gourmand scents are so popular. They make people happy, they evoke pleasant memories. Wait a bit and spices come out to play that remind me of chai tea. There aren't many notes in this perfume, but somehow they blend to make a warm, inviting, and cozy blanket to wrap yourself with with a smile. I can awaken still enjoying it, so its longevity is excellent and its sillage extends around me. I really enjoy Spark for the times I just want to be cozy, comfy and without any pretense. When I just want to be me with pleasant smiles. Spark is a misnomer, yes, unless you hold a match to the bottle. The creative juices behind it created a short, catchy name that holds up on the tongue, whether consumers like it or not. It really doesn't describe this perfume, then again, so many names don't.

This is a nice fragrance for those who are lovers of very warm and spicy scents, so if you like perfumes like Versace's Crystal Noir , CK's Obsession or Mugler's Angel then this could be right up your alley. As others have pointed out, it does initially have some vague similarities to Obsession , but then the sweetness kicks into overdrive as it dries down and it changes into a distinctly warm, sensual, and welcoming scent of it's own. Cinnamon, caramel, and cedar are very evident notes that swirl together effortlessly, but the vanilla and florals within prevent it from becoming too overpowering. So while it's peppery, it's also amazingly and darkly saccharine, if you can make it past the initial, abrasive spray. To me, this is a perfect scent to wear once winter weather kicks in, and i do like wearing it for the holidays on cold days or nights where i want to be sensual but subdued and comforting and not overtly bold. I like to think of it like a warm and spicy vanilla-caramel latte (although with no coffee notes attached, i'll add). One thing that is important for me to add is that i've had my original, full-sized eau de parfum bottle since 2003 when it came out, as it was given to me as a Christmas present, and it has held up quite nicely. It still smells exactly the same so i find that it ages well. It works well with my body chemistry so i've never had problems with it, and it lasts a decent amount of time on my skin. Definitely at least by a few hours. I'm not sure if possible later versions were reformulated or not or if the more affordable mini versions have the same longevity. Regardless, if you're a warmth and spice lover, definitely give this one a try.

I purchased my first bottle of Spark back around 2006 after hearing people comment that is resembled a favorite signature perfume of mine, the original Guess in the triangulated twist bottle with the black cap. I wore the hell out of Guess back in the day, maybe late 90's? Anyhow I purchased a big tester bottle of Spark and instantly fell in love with it. It became a beloved scent for me but like so many of us with big collections, I would sort of forget about it now and again and neglect to wear it. Now I'm just about to open a new big bottle of it because it's getting some much deserved attention from me. Spark may resemble Obsession to some but for me it's always been a nice reminder of the Guess I loved. It has the spicy, amber-like caramel I love and cinnamon. I love spices in my fragrances and Spark has just enough. I can always smell the remnants of Spark on my clothes the next day. I find it's lasting power to be great. Once when I was wearing Spark all the time I smelled a woman's fragrance and just *knew* it was Spark. When I complimented her and asked what she was wearing she said Allure Sensuale. It blew my mind because on her it smelled just like Spark to my nose. At ant rate, Spark is a very under rated beauty! I'm glad I have it to enjoy. Edit: In addition to the bottle of EDP I have some little bottles of the pure parfum and it's so beautiful to wear. Love both!

My fav fashionista aunt gave me a small bottle Mambo, and of this.. It smells super strong in the bottle so I didn't try it for almost a year.. when I finally did try it, I absolutely loved this perfume (and my date immediately started drooling)! Its seductive, mysterious, complex and very unique. Probably a night smell but that didn't stop me from wearing it exclusively day and night through my mid to late 20s. It's not for everyone though, in fact I only said 'loved' because my chemistry has changed after moving to a new city/changing my diet so it doesn't smell the same on me anymore which is really sad. But when it works with your personality and body chemistry it definitely turn heads and drives suitors (of any gender) crazy. Also, because its not super popular/doesn't smell like all the other frufru girly perfumes out there - you're definite going to stand out in a good way. Its one of those smells that people will associate with YOU because you don't smell like all your friends. If you're more of a Sultry Vamp than a precious lolita, try it.

This is a great parfum and it is good too see her pop up in the reviews. A couple year back, one of my swap mates gave me a mini and I remember putting it on my wrist and saying to myself, " you are stunning and I need a full bottle", but I never got around to getting a bottle and years have passed and 100's of perfumes sampled later, Ive still got to say, this is a great composition of its genre type. I didn't need that full bottle after all and I still have half of my mini, but I love this juice as much today as I did back then. A highly recommend fragrance to grab if you see the 7ml parfum around and are looking for a long lasting, scrumptious, sweeter CC Obsession type scent in parfum. I may not have needed a big bottle but I sure would love one anyway, :) Gorgeous perfume. xxx

Oh my goodness, I LOVE this EDP!! Have worn it for the last few days, unusual for me since I have so many gorgeous ones to choose from. It opens with a very classic floriental vibe, very rich and spicy. But then it takes a quick turn for the gourmand, with a loud and beautiful cinnamon note, and that gorgeous caramel! There is something dry here in the background, I'm guessing the cedar, that makes it truly interesting and complex and raises it above the purely sweet and foody, gourmandish type of orientals. I also agree that it reminds strongly of ORGANZA. It's like Organza's hippie cousin, more earthy and less floral. As I said, I've worn it for the last few days, and it keeps its form the whole time, no disappointing fade-outs or unwelcomed morphing. A winner for me!

Soli Deo Gloria's description of Spark as "thick and syrupy in a good way" is spot on. I recently bought a mini bottle to sample, wearing it on several occasions. Spark is a richer, subtler version of Obsession. It is also one of the few perfumes I have worn that garners compliments every time, from men and women. The cinnamon note is luscious. Of course the full bottle size has been discontinued. Such is my luck. LOL. I have a travel size atomizer that holds 2 of the mini bottles. I will be buying more of the mini bottles soon, as well as the lotion and soap so I can layer this wonderful scent. Spark is definitely a perfume I would recommend to anyone without hesitation.

If you enjoy Obsession you will like this modernized version of that older CK classique. It is dark, intense, gourmand, sexy and yummy. Men seem to LOVE this scent on a woman. It has those elements of herbs/flowers, musk and cinnamon that apparently are attractive. A study has been done (many times) to detect which scents had the most effect on arousal in men. I’ve read over again that "pumpkin pie" and "lavender" take the win. So, there ya go. Wear with guts and caution! :) To me it just seems comforting, autumnal and cozy. A discontinued scent I associate this with, or put in the same class as is Cliniques "Simply" minus that licorice accord. It is divine.

I overlooked this for so long until I finally tried it and saw exactly what I had been missing. This fragrance is vastly underappreciated, such cinnamony good deliciousness! I did also think of Obsession when I first tried this, but I think Spark is more gentle. It's a very comfortable fragrance that I want to wear on a winter night with a big bathrobe, a book in my lap, and mug of hot cocoa. But it's also sexy, this is one my husband really likes. Spark falls into the category of several of my favorites: because they have boring bottles and names, I don't think about them until I notice how admired they are by others. I'm glad I finally gave it a chance!

Get a cinnamon fix and a vintage oriental fix in one bottle. Very similar to YVES ROCHER VENICE, but without the oakmoss and resin, so for many that means much more wearable. Similar to OBSESSION, but much simpler and lighter. I understand the connection to GUESS ORIGINAL, but again, Spark lacks the oakmoss, and is way less complex and intense, plus has that vintage drugstore vibe (which I love) that GUESS ORIGINAL doesn't. Except for current formulation Obsession, these are all now hard to come by. If I had to choose between them, I would take Spark over Obsession and Venice, but I would chuck them all for Guess Original. That stuff is bom.

I love Spark. The cinnamon and cedar are just breathtaking. It's not your average baking cinnamon. This cinnamon is exotic and dry. I see Spark compared to Obsession and Guess. I don't care for either of those two for various reasons, but I sure do adore Spark. So I have to say they do not smell alike to me.They could all be in the same family, but Spark is younger, modern, and so terribly classy to me. This scent lasts all day with just one spray. It's a nice break away from so many heavy winter vanilla scents. This will always be a love for me.

Sweet caramel bourbon syrup, flowing with amber, and richly spiced with cinnamon. Very much along the lines of CK Obsession, but I prefer Spark as it is sweeter and livelier, plus the amber in Spark isn't "play-doughy" like it is in Obsession. Spark is a total fall/winter fragrance. It absolutely oozes comfort on a cold day. It bears ultra-wide sillage, and lasts forever. Big love from me. It used to be dirt cheap on ebay for a full bottle, but I see the ebay scalpers are back to doing what they do best thanks to discontinuation.

Love at first sniff, Spark reminds me a lot of CK Obsession. Warm and spicy, full of rich comforting aromas, and perfect for a cold winter day. I actually get the cedar note which adds a lift quite nicely to an otherwise heavy, dark fragrance. There is a mellow powdery background that helps tie together everything I love about my favorites. Spice, Cedar, Powder, Dark, Cinnamon and every so lightly sweetened. Despite its celebrity status, I think it's blended perfect for my taste. With a rebel yell, I want more, more, more!

yes Spark is divine and very longlasting. i tested it yesterday afternoon and this morning it was still very detectable.... it's has to be incredible sexy, my husband liked it very mutch on me. warm, cozy, a bit spicy, a bit sweet, a bold rose and a creamy wood. just perfect and it's not heavy, easy to wear during the day. very good sillage! i would compare it to Krazy Krizia less the metallic or medical hint and CK obsession less the overpowering civet and incsense, replaced by creamy caramel.

Spark was my first perfume love, and I recently bought a mini bottle to relive the experience. It’s not as rich as I remember, but my nose has come a long way in the past fifteen years. These days when I’m in an amber mood I wear L’Occitane Ambre, which is very similar in mood to Spark, if not identical. It lacks the cinnamon that makes Spark really stand out, but provides the same amber warmth and sweetness and general cozy, sexy vibes.

I hate vanilla fragrances, but this is very nice. It doesnt smell like sweet vanilla to me, just sexy and soft, yes a touch of cinnamon (dont like eating buns with cinnamon) how strange...my nose and mouth are not connected? lol... why do I like Spark then? warm and yes sexy, cozy, cant stop smelling it on my skin... definitely a scent to wear when the day is cold and later, in bed :)

At first, I thought this smelled like the love child of Guess Original and vintage Obsession. Within minutes, it settles into the most warm, sensuous, sweet cinnamon blend. I think I could eat this stuff. It ends up smelling a lot like vintage Obsession on me. I love the warm spiciness of this. There are no sharp edges here. This is soft, cozy, sensuous and delicious.

The first notes - yes, a bit like Obsession. But if you wait, you see a completely different scent.It is more mild and less obnoxious :) - don`t get me wrong, I love Obsession.The cinnamon in it is not like in cookies, but like in incense. As it dries down, the bitterness goes away and leaves you with a subtle smell of cinnamon bark.

The cedar is very dominant on my skin, coupled with the cinnamon. It's definitely got those caramel undertones to sexy it up a bit, I find it very womanly and powerful. I am really enjoying the warmth and cosiness of this scent, certainly best for the cooler months. I can't imagine this working well on me in the heat.
