Stone

This small bottle has become more like my treasured, special key, a Spirit protection spell, opening and returning me to my orifices, my senses, my breath, and to the presence of a river rippling at my fingertips, cool stone weighted beneath my feet, and the misty chamber of a cave beckoning me back inside. Though mint is not a note I'm usually drawn to, here it is more like a feeling, terrestrially transportive, to the shadowed, blue-gray side of the mountain, as the sweeter musks warm their way into a creamy touch, skin against stone. For the grotto and woodland shapeshifters, this composition is mystical, yet grounded in notes true to this world. The landscape of Stone has also been so enchanting to layer and play inside of: with a deeper musk to bring more shape to the undertones, a soft, melancholic blossom, a dusty iris, an indolic melody, a gentle breath, a glowing whisper at the mouth of the cavern.

FINALLY, this gem is in the Fragrantica system! I cannot say enough good things about this perfume. The mint is extremely leafy and genuine. Smelling this perfume scratches a mental itch in the same way that the dirt underneath your fingernails proves your efforts after a rewarding hour of digging in the garden. In spite of the hyper-realistic dirt and mint, Stone is surprisingly wearable and versatile. Vetiver tends to fall a little flat and boring on my skin, but not here. Liza Pittard's skillful handling of the material really shows. Stone can be dressed up or down, performs well in all sorts of weather, and always tends to garner compliments on me. I'll come back and edit this review to add more at a later date, but I just needed to start things off right by leaving something positive for this beauty.

was waiting with baited breath for this one to be added to the database until i realized i could be the change i want to see in the world and figured out how to submit fragrances for consideration 🫶 stone smells and feels fresh, a bit powdery. wet spongious moss on the shores of a river bend. it’s innocently musty and reminds me of a spring walk in the forest after heavy rains. ps: red fruit smoothie is a completely misleading note and not present at all in the pyramid shared on liza’s website. i believe it’s an accidental split of the “smooth cedar” note she lists.

just gorge, a complex revolving door of minty-herbal bracing freshness with deep grounded greens & browns lasts for a very, very long time in a wonderfully personal scent bubble that allows for gentle discovery rather than announcement. hugely comforting and uplifting

Starts with a VERY sharp dirt smell with a really abrasive mint leaf note that mellows into a vetiver-forward, herbal scent I find alluring. It’s sexy in an apothecary witch kind of way or like a damp shadow. Two sprays was overpowering, use with caution!

It's quite nice. I needed more dirt and earthiness as the mint borders on intolerable to me. It's very sharp and bristly for about an hour and then it dries down with more musky, clean green complexity.... but no toothpaste mint, it's very natural. I assume the red berry smoothie note ? is an error. There's also a slight hint of something you get with indie perfumes.... It's not necessarily off-putting but I can smell it. Overall I like it but I'm glad I got the travel size.

This is one of the most viscerally cold and earthy scents I’ve smelled in perfume form. The specificity of this minty, damp soil aroma is expertly captured here. Simultaneously, Stone feels like a gust of chilled air and a deep inhale.
