Kérylos

Another winner from L’Objet and JCE! Love where it lands in my skin between spring and summer. To me, it’s a perfect unisex frag, not “neroli sweet”, but still very citrusy. The bottle color (and difference from the other L’Objet bottles) makes it a complete package. I had already purchased before I saw the marketing campaign and the vids with L’Objet founder Elad Yifrach and JCE but was entranced by the story behind the development. Get your nose on this, you won’t regret it.

I can’t believe passion fruit is not listed in the notes. This is a lovely fresh clean passion fruit on me, without being juvenile or sirupy. Perfect for summer. Quite linear, for the first 30 min I get freshly mowed grass, after that the passion fruit notes shine and it stays like this for the rest of the wear and lasts really well for a citrus fragrance. I get a good 8 hours.

Another masterpiece from JCE. I love everything about this perfume including the bottle design and the inspiration behind the name. I love citrus fragrances but grapefruit isn’t my favorite so I passed the sample to my husband. And wow, I loved it so much on him! It is a sweet citrus, that has a very good longevity and sillage. It’s a 10/10

love love love the fragrance. very clear, fresh but strong passionfruit scent to me. like you bathed in passionfruit, more citrusy than sweet. on my skin sweetness comes through in a sort of burnt caramel scent reminiscent of rouge 540. easily one of my top fragrances currently.

I was able to sample this recently and was not disappointed. In the opening you get an incredible mix of citrus notes, very juicy and realistic. I notice a slight green bitterness after a few seconds which adds a great contrast to the sweetness of the citrus notes. As the scent dries down, the green notes fade and it transitions to a sweeter muskier base with fruity tones, and that's what you get for the remainder of the fragrance. Overall it is a pretty simple fragrance, but it is simplicity at the highest level, as is common for a lot of Jean Claude Ellena perfumes. One thing I did notice was a slight similarity to another JC Ellena fragrance, that being Arancia Rossa from Laboratorio Olfattivo. I feel that the perfumes have a similar structure and composition, but there are differences when compared side by side. In Arancia Rossa you get a very prominent passion fruit note which dominates the fragrance from the mid to the dry down. Although not listed, I feel that there is some similar type of fruit accord used in Kerylos as well, but it is done in a more balanced way, which I prefer. Also, I'm personally more of a fan of the citruses used in the opening of Kerylos, which are elevated with the addition of the green notes. I was surprised at the performance. On my skin, the longevity is actually really good(6-7 hours) and the projection is moderate throughout. This is 100% unisex. I think this scent is ideal for daytime use in warmer months, and for more casual occasions.

Another creation from JCE. I like this scent but I don't love it. This is a fresh fruity summer scent. I can smell grapefruit and guava in it. Smells good but nothing special and also doesn't really justify the price. I probably would grab something from Atelier Cologne if I want a citrusy summer fragrance. However, I can see it being my go-to scent in summer when I don't know what to wear if I managed to grab it at a bargain.

On me, the fruitiness is wild, and it's all I'm getting. Sort of a ripe passion fruit. If the latter was contrasted more with green and woody notes, it might work, but alas, it doesn't. However, it does get better after several hours, when the sandalwood makes its appearance, but I just can't stand that much fruitiness. Good quality just like the rest of the collection, and great performance even in December cold. Edit The person below also smells the passion fruit 😆

Mostly fresh and somewhat sweet, this citrus fragrance is a genuine mood booster. There's this clever combination of mastic, galbanum and sweet notes that succeeds in adding some depth and longevity to the citrus here. Up close to the skin the galbanum can come off a bit strong, making the fragrance seem to have a prominent bitter and green vibe, but from a distance the fresh top notes and sweet ethylmaltol pop off much more and it's not bitter at all. It's just a fun fragrance all around. Something like Vibrato's quirky artist nephew/niece.
