Rose Noire

It is a mysterious dark, rose but at the same time it is not heavy, and the rose note is quite intense, if you don't like rose smell, this is not for you. Also, I do smell a mix of rose, moss, pepper and clove, it is very interesting the combination, it was a nice surprise since I love rose scents, and it is more feminine than masculine in my opinion. Enjoy!

Dark, cold, aloof and self-assured. Reminds me of Maleficent. A little gothic and mysterious, but not heavy. One of the main notes is warm spicy, but I don't detect much warmth. Nicely balanced. Usually, I'm not a fan of heavy, dark roses that are often overwhelming, but I enjoy this scent quite a bit. I find that one spray is more than enough as it's quite potent. I feel like I have oversprayed with just one spray. Unisex. Good for going out or events. You'll make a statement if you wear this scent. I'm positively impressed with this brand so far.

Came across this interior design brand in Harrods today. Their candles and diffusers smell wonderful and the containers are gorgeous. Rose noire is the most popular one and I can see why as it is a massive appealing scent This is a dark jammy rose which reminds me of Roisin Dubh by Cloon Keen. This is only for rose lovers. I like it but I don't think I'll buy it given its steep price point and the lack of uniqueness. RRP for 50ml is £135 and 100ml is is £250. The scent itself doesn't justify the price.

Rose Noir was one of those fragrances that taught me a valuable lesson: notes on paper do not guarantee what you’ll actually smell on your skin. Looking at the note pyramid, I expected a dark, tea-stained rose fragrance. Between the rose, black tea, and woody base, I imagined something elegant, mysterious, and perhaps a little gothic. Instead, I spent hours wondering where the rose went. The opening immediately struck me as sharp and abrasive. I kept searching for the rose, but unlike other rose fragrances I’ve tried, it never truly appeared. There was no jammy rose, no fresh rose petals, no Turkish delight rose, and no romantic floral character. If there was a rose here at all, it was buried beneath everything else. As the fragrance developed, the sharpness only became stronger. Two hours later it had not softened, rounded out, or revealed any hidden beauty. It simply became more aggressive. I could detect a bit of black tea in the background, but the overall impression remained harsh, synthetic, and strangely reminiscent of a generic department store perfume. What surprised me most was how little I experienced the notes listed in the pyramid. I never really smelled rose. I didn’t get a beautiful tea accord. I didn’t perceive an elegant woody drydown. Instead, the fragrance came across as a sharp, almost musky cloud that sat on my skin and refused to evolve. This is one of the few fragrances I’ve tested where I knew fairly early that a chest test would be unnecessary. Sometimes a perfume changes dramatically with wear. This one told me exactly who it was from the beginning, and unfortunately that personality was not for me. If you’re looking for a dark rose fragrance, I would keep searching. Rose Noir never delivered the rose promised by its name. Rating: Hard pass.

reviewing based on a tester (been about 4 hours) - dark smokey with a heart of a jammy slightly powdery rose coming through. a bit sexy.
