Barbotine

I adore it. The scent is best described as homemade Mojito, made with a homemade sprite (the type that uses pine needles) as the soda water. The Chamomile and Tansy seem to give it a slightly grassy energy that goes nicely with the image of the picture of the a the Mojito on the grassy picnic blanket It does compare to Mémoire d’une Odeur but smells fresh,lively and verdent where Memoire smells dusty, nostalgic and metallic. Memorie fits the night and yes, Barbotine fits the day. I also enjoy it as a more subtle version of my "A Scent" by Issey Miyake (I've mentioned the brand on all but Mélilot!) , and Ô de Lancôme duo. Thoose two give a bite and earthiness to the their citrus greens, where ass Barbotine is more a lotiony milk. I feel this makes it a nicer inside scent. I like Ninfeo Mio also for that profile, but sometimes I'm just not in the mood for fig. This is the rare green scent as at home in the office as it is in the wide world.

It's a very fresh but subtle fragrance. I was expecting a bit of a stronger smell, especially given that's it was a bit expensive. However, I do love it. It's fresh, light, zesty, citrusy. It's so clean. It reminds of like a nice splash of iced lemon and cucumber water or like a posh face mask or wet wipe from a spa or fancy hotel. It reminds me of this ambient album called Green by Hiroshi Yoshimura (1986). I think I perhaps need to try it with an extra spray or two to really be able to understand appreciate it. ❤️ EDIT: tried it again and sprayed it a bit more and yeah... I'm in loveee with it! So fresh and beautiful! 🥰

i own the lotion and body wash too and if you layer them all and add a body oil of your choice it lasts forever. this is the kind of scent you use after a day of doing really grimy yucky work and need to feel as clean as possible. but for people who dont like soapy scents. because i typically find soapiness in perfume to be a bit nauseating i even get sick from it so trust me this is good good.... i wish the chamomile was a biiiit stronger so i layer it with chamomile oil. pure heaven

I’m positively surprised by this one. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I do. It’s very much unlike Gucci, at least to me. Barbotine is brighter and less melancholic. Where Gucci feels a little lonely, this one is full of life. Where Gucci is a cloudy, windy day in the fields, Barbotine is the first day of spring when you don’t have to wear a jacket. I can see myself wearing this in spring and summer. Maybe then I’ll buy a full bottle. And I’ll take the advice someone commented below and layer it with other products of this line.

heady and intensely floral but not in a sugary and chemical way- it smells authentically earthy and rich. extremely unique and green, has a soapy undertone which kind of gives it a slight “favourite granny” energy. would make a lovely spring or summer perfume for those who like more natural and clean scents.

A refreshing wet wipe that is handed out to you at fancy restaurants but in a bottle It's so wow!!

Green, herbal, soft and unique. Would make a fantastic signature fragrance for men or women.

this smells green. citrus fresh, herby and earthy, slightly warm but not cloyingly so, woody in a whispery fashion. like something elvish, rather unisex in an almost formless way. to me it is a bright smell best suited for a spring/summer day or even night if it's somewhat breezy and pleasantly cool. agree with the various comparisons to a fancy spa, wet wipe, homemade mojitos, want to add that it makes me think of what a portion of an apothecary might smell like. quite interesting and unique definitely, the reviews here are quite fair. i enjoyed the scent of this even though it's not my style. got this especially because @lalapope had good stuff to say about this and melilot from the same range and i already greatly enjoy melilot. both of them have a very cottagecore aura to them in different ways, i don't know if this trend continues with noble epine and glycine. I was very disappointed to see that they changed the bottle design in the re- release, the original bottles had a bright coloured label and a big wooden cap and in the pictures I've seen of them on people's shelves they immediately grab your attention because they are so recognisable and distinct. There are rumours that L'Occitane will be discontinuing the line sometime in 2026 which would be a shame because these are great and unusual scents, despite the low sillage and longevity.

IMO the best perfume of 2024. Great idea of this precious herbs to be used in healiing as well in perfumery. L Occitaine knows what they do. I trust them blindly. Calming and relaxing as field of grass and herns near by forest in Poland and France.. The scent of innocent, last peacefull summer in Europe to me.... It also has something from a vintage 80s soap style. The soap bar added as gift to this scent would be great idea to complete the experience.

this perfume has quickly become one of my all time favorites. it’s so bright and vibrant without being cloying or overpowering. a unique, green, soapy scent. absolutely right for a spa day, early sunday morning, or late saturday evening by yourself. i wear it to bed as well as out and about. needless to say, ill need to buy another bottle soon. the initial spray is a herbal, green, floral masterpiece. it lingers on the skin as a lime mint essence. the dry down is the most gentle skin scent of vanilla and sandalwood. you can tell this perfume is made of quality ingredients. my only complaint is how gentle this fragrance becomes. however, i’m one of those obnoxious people who desires to fill the room (i know i know). if you’re looking for a gentle, bright, soapy, unique, green-floral, look no further.

A very soft, clean, flowery, green, soapy, and slightly feminine leaning fragrance. It reminds me of how I feel when I visit a spa and feel extremely clean and relaxed afterwards. Absolutely fantastic and refreshing after smelling all the cardamon heavy, spicy, and sweet fragrances. Excellent lasting power, soft projection makes it a winner for me. 10/10=Perfect.

This is a soft soapy scent with a touch of sweetness and a bit cold thanks to the mint. It’s clean and relaxing. A good choice if you are looking for a safe green fragrance.
