Eau des 4 Voleurs

I got in touch with L'Occitane's customer care in France asking if by any chance they would re-release it and they said that Eau des 4 Voleurs will be available again in a limited edition by the end of October 2016. I had also asked about a possible re-release of Eau du Contadour (which is one of the best fragrances they have ever made, IMO) but they didn't say anything that if it will come out again :/ Let's wait until October 2016 to get our hands back on this stunning fragrance.

This perfume, is , as much I know discontinued. If anyone knows where I could still get it I be very greatfull. I get 5 bottles at one ;-) Thanks

My father wore this and I loved it so much. It reminded me of him before he switched to D&G's Light Blue por homme. I still miss him wearing it!

I used to own a bottle of this one after a salesperson in one of the L'Occitane boutiques convinced me it smelled much better than whatever I went to buy that was unavailable. I actually still own the bottle, but it never grew on me and, when the atomizer jammed, I took it as a celestial sign that the juice was not made for me. So I used it to add some scent to the water in the humidifiers across the flat, you know those porcelain vessels you hang on radiators to keep the air healthily moist, until during one of those time I accidentally spilled most of it. I then filled the rest of the bottle with water and that was the end of the scent, so take this review at face value. The opening was a powdery bed of herbs, made just slighlty more sparkling by a shadow of citrusy notes, with a strong pencil-like cedar coming across immediately and adding to the powdery effect. I've never smelled the juniper as such, which I always associate more to gin smell, and I felt it was more akin to a similar shrub (myrtle), which is slightly sweeter, less refreshing but darker. In a way this scent reminds me of fog, foggy days, rain, even without any vetiver. The herbal, almost medicinal, side of Eau des 4 Voleurs is the aspect that still strikes me when I smell the cap - it feels like a medieval herbarium or a scriptorium with monks drawing/preparing herbs, or something to that effect, and it's not by mistake that on the label you can read "A legend of Occitania, treasured since the 15th century". For what I remember, the sillage was moderate, but the longevity pretty poor. I wish I still had it as now I kind of appreciate woodsy/herbal scents and, while basically unwearable in normal situation, it would have been a good companion for meditation, yoga or just visit old monasteries in the woods. The brown 100ml L'Occitane bottle bears the batch code 8660189 which means it was manufactured in April 2009 (consistent with the EXP: 2012/04 note etched next to the batch code). Terrible flimsy cap and incredibly unreliable trashy atomiser, which unfortunately didn't change over the years (I have a bottle of Eau de Cedrat which is similarly trashy). Almost a decent like.

Not a fan of Juniper berries I'm afraid. I have disliked every fragrance I have owned with this note so far. That being said if any one is interested in buying (or swapping) a nearly full bottle of this please PM me. Bear in mind this stuff is rare and difficult to find so serious offers only please.

Woody and aromatic fragrance. It smell very good, it long lasts!

I used one spray and was surprised that it didn't last longer with strength but other than that I was very pleased with it. Some have compared it to Pino Silvestre and Blenheim Bouquet, but it's smoother than either of those, by a wide margin. It was muskier than I thought it would be, but it wasn't "old man musk." Instead, it kept the smooth blend coming in nice wafts for a few hours. What's interesting is that it's not especially "abstract," since you can tell the notes are present, but it's not literal either, due to how it's blended, so to me it gives the impression of someone coming into the room who has just walked through the woods. I'm really surprised that there aren't other scents all that similar to this one, but perhaps that honor would go to Halston 101, which I have yet to sample. In some ways it can be viewed as the "love child" of vintage Polo and the Pino Silvestre/Blenheim Bouquet type, being better than those others if you are seeking smoothness and balance.. UPDATE: I obtained a partial bottle of the original or "deep vintage." The label on the bottle is different and the bottle is transparent/clear, but it's the same shape, unlike the newest one. This is not as "sticky" as the one pictured above, and to me it suggests better/more natural ingredients. However, this is the first bottle of this type I've seen, so it's not likely you'll ever come across one like this anyway. The one pictured above is still an excellent fragrance.

I know the story beneath this fragrance but the result is pretty far from the (supposed) origin. If you want to taste something near to what it could be the original "protective" Eau,try the Santa Maria Novella "Seven Stoler Vinegar";beware!SMN it's not a perfume,but an anti-fainting solution! The Four Stolers Water is a good Pine frag,but no so memorable:I have spent a lot of time in search of it,but once I have found,I could not be totally satisfied:it is,IMHO,very similar to Pino Silvestre,but with a little more sour. Performance is very good anyway.

Un hombre maduro después de bañarse, recién afeitado, no lo consideraría para un hombre menor de 40. Al principio percibo el albahaca, los cítricos y el cedro, incluso un poco especiado en la salida, pero después de un rato huele delicioso a pino. Es muy relajante y adictivo. Incluso lo he llegado a usar para mí (mujer).

I went to a Loccitane store today and had a look at their fragrances. I was supriced of how many nice choices they had and I really felt for this male fragrance. I bought it for myself and hope thats ok. A woody, aromatic fragrance. Great

At first spray, the juniper notes are very strong. But it lasts about 10 minutes. So, it becomes the same of the beautiful Lalique White. Nice juice, easy wearable, better for daytime, hot or cold. I love it.

Divine! I know it has been discontinued, which is a travesty, but am trying to locate any extra bottles that might be had. Anybody? Thanks!

If you are having difficulties finding this, try some Hermes Bel Ami. They are very similar.

The combination of notes leaves me smelling licorice. I see why it is discontinued.

For me, the stronguest note in this perfume is oregano: it lasts all day long !!!
