Herbae Spartium

Truly amazing. This is what I wished Aqua Allegoria Nettare di Sole smelled like (it's disappointing). The name Herbae Spartium is misleading... because this is a yellow flowers/ sunny/ soapy kind of smell. The sylkolide makes it unique smelling, warm, floral...For all fans of ylang, suntan lotion, aftersun... rejoice!

This was part of a birthday gift from my Uni friend (from 40 years ago!) I thnk it's a heavenly smell sweet, citrus-y and expensive (which it literally is!) Just a little and it lasts ages! The mix of floral and spice is truly amazing. Love it

Absolutely gorgeous amazing scent. So sad that it has been just limited edition and it is nowhere to get anymore. Please bring it back... love it

This was a surprise: it smells exactly like the grass in a meadow on a sunny day, when you rest and braid wild flowers in your hair. It is the absolute yellow perfume, you can imagine the wild flowers fairies dancing in this perfume. It is kind of subtle, it changes your mood, the others have to come quite close to smell it, but it makes you feel like a summer day. I got it on the Summer Solstice and it seemed made from the light of that day and the wisdom of the herbs filled with summer.

This is a beautiful sweet, spring-like perfume IF you like Jasmine! You can certainly smell the broom and sweet grass, but the Jasmine is the dominant note here. The lady in L’Occitane sprayed it on a test strip for me and watched me sniff it. When I raised my eyebrows she smiled and said “Jasmine right?! They should have called it Herbae Jasmine” and we bonded.... two people who don’t like jasmine, disappointed that this new offering has a broom note that is strangled by the Jasmine! Having said all that, it’s absolutely beautiful! Not for me as I can’t wear Jasmine, but there’s no denying what a lovely pollen filled bouquet is going on in Herbae Spartium. It’s strong for a L’Occitane and although it doesn’t smell like the OG, it shares the same sweet and syrupy vibe. I think the synthetic base could irritate some people who like me, are sensitive to modern musky molecules, as it smells a bit strange to me in the drydown - any ambrox type notes tend to smell like burnt wood or rubber to me and I get a bit of that after an hour or so. Probably best to test this one in store!
