Jardin En Fete (Festive Garden)

Prettiness in a bottle. The instinct to lavish myself in this feminine, sweet juice was overwhelming: I bought the matching perfume oil. I had a thought as I sniffed my wrist: I hope it’s added to the permanent collection. It’s a celebratory fragrance, if one is celebrating pureness: that is the adjective that comes to mind. It’s both fresh but not antiseptic: the sweet notes immediately prevent this juice from drifting into ultra-clean territory (which I can’t stand). But yes: you’ll smell lovely and freshly scrubbed while wearing this juice. I will purchase again, no doubt.

Delightful, tarty, fruity EDT perfect for a summer in Las Vegas. Nicely blended with quality ingredients faintly reminds of Molinard Marea.

A lot of L'Occitane fragrances are gone fro stores before you even have much of a chance to smell them, and that is something fans of the brand have come to expect. One of the saddest limited edition runs is Jardin en Fete. It was out for 2019 holiday and as far as I know was popular during that time, and then poof come the new year it is gone (as in no longer produced.) This is one of the better and more interesting fragrances I have smelled from the brand. It does indeed smell like a lovely garden on a cold day with the sun shining. It is comforting, inviting, and pleasantly sweet. I think this might be what led them to bring back their also excellent The Vert, but the more interesting facets of this make it better than the straight green-tea-citrus of the latter. Such a shame this was so short-lived, because if it were readily available i would definitely keep a bottle in my rotation. I like The Vert, but I cannot say the same for it. I could see this fitting in nicely with the Herbae line with a few tweaks, but I think the best we can hope for is that it returns for holiday another year.

This is a cute scent, and it is sad that L'Occitane made it a seasonal limited edition, because it could easily be a year-round kind of fragrance for a lot of people. Like most of L'Occitane's fragrances, there's that understated quality that makes the scents surprising--they sneak up on you a bit, especially after the second or third sniff. Jardin is fresh, fruity, but not sickening-sweet like most frags in that category. The brand's Herbae (green, not L'eau) is probably a nice replacement, though, since it is crisp and citrussy, though it lacks the sweetness of the peach. Performance is on par with other offerings from the brand in their EDT concentration, and sillage is about what you'd expect from a scent so fresh and green. I'd love to have been able to get my hands on a fresh bottle of this, but c'est la vie. It really does smell like a festive garden. Brands need to stop making so many delicious limited editions!

This is a pleasant fragrance. Soft, feminine, classy and clean. A good and inoffensive choice for romantic ladies. It smells like a creamy handmade soap. Not groundbreaking but nice. Good for every occasion and weather.

I remember when Festive Garden was released in 2019; in true L'Occitane fashion, it came with all the accoutrements of indulgent body care, including a whipped mouse hand cream, body cream, shower foam, bar soap, etc. The toilette was the final step, not unlike a Maraschino cherry placed a top a sprinkle laden sundae. I found Festive Garden an unusual release for this Provincial brand. Its notes are delicately blended, fresh from the citrus but also oddly sweet in a tart way not unlike the flavours found in a citrus gelato. Certainly, Festive Garden can be regarded as a scent for youngsters and teenagers as something both playful and juvenile; I just found it too sweet and candied on my own skin, though its projection and lasting power were notable. Who knew that L'Occitane had gelato on their Provincial menu? Give this cutie a try!
