Mandarine & Immortelle

This isn't the discontinued Ambre, one of my favorite perfumes of all time, but L'Occitane has made a beauty nonetheless. I really have been enjoying this one for about a month. I find it to be very citrus and ginger heavy at the top of the wearing. This ginger has a tanginess to it, that reminds me of pickled ginger, or sushi ginger, that you would find at sushi bars. There's a sweetness throughout that I believe comes from honey, which gives the citrus and ginger a slightly naughty air to them. After about 20 minutes the lavender and immortelle start to make an appearance, making the fragrance start to really lean toward the gourmand, with a slight aromatic feel to it. It's a slightly carnal gourmand; warm, tangy, a little naughty, sweet, without being sugary and it is unisex, though it does lean a bit towards the feminine. The sillage is about 5 feet and the longevity for me averages about 6 to 9 hours depending on if it's mainly on my skin, or my clothes. 8/10 for now. My opinion always changes somewhat over time. Update: This has quickly become a favorite now! I believe anyone can wear this any time of year in moderate and cool climes. I think in the hot, thick air of the tropics it may be too much, but we shall see! 9/10!!

I got this as a gift for my mom and it was just divine. L'Occitane is really doing it for me these days!

On me I get mostly immortelle and honey, it's just lovely.

Loccitane is such an under rated house. Their fragrances are some of the most unique ones to my nose. This one is Herbal, ginger, Immortelle. Slightly sweet and spicy scent. Quite a unique DNA. Medium longevity and projection. I find it quite a linear scent though and it doesn’t evolve much. Using it currently as a day and evening scent too. Lovely bottle but a bit pricey fragrance it is indeed. I give it an 8/10

This beautiful composition does not have the technical parameters of EDT. 86 series feels like body mist - too light and does not last. Although L'Occitane's compositions are generally well-built and this brand knows how to incorporate immortelle and honey into its products in the best way.
