Neroli Eau de Parfum

There are two fragrances that when they disappeared they left a hole in my heart. This was the first one. I loved this fragrance so much and wore it daily for years. It had a vintage quality with its simplicity but it was also classy with an aromatherapy like quality. The bottle design really captures what this fragrance was like. I recall the opening was somewhat off putting (I recall it being a dark, heavy with a fresh cut lumber note) but once it opened up you were enveloped by this warm neroli and woody scent. No citrus here, no orange blossom (as we find it in current fragrances), just neroli. I was late to learn it had been discontinued--I was running low and decided to get a backup bottle and discovered it was gone. If only I had known sooner I would have stocked up. I still long for this fragrance and continue to search for a replacement to no avail. Please L'occitane bring this back!

I haven’t thought about this fragrance for some time. I discovered it around 18 years ago, in fact my husband bought it for me at a L’Occitane store in Sydney...it was practically my signature, I wore it every day, I took it for granted. It was such a luscious syrupy neroli, no other neroli has ever come near it. I had finished my bottle and thought I had better buy a back up, this must have been around 2005 or so. I remember I was in Brisbane at the time, walked into the L’Occitane store and discovered it was no more. After that I scoured every L’Occitane store in Asia - Bangkok, HK, Singapore, with no avail...it was lost forever. Super longevity, intoxicating sillage, it really was a dream. Yes we should start a petition. I think L’Occitane have some neroli orchid thing now, it’s pallid compared to how this used to be.

This one is an absolute dream for me. I was blessed to receive a bottle for free from someone who just didn't like it. Had no idea then that it was discontinued. Anyway, I've been searching ever since for a dupe and I have been amazed to find that Cologne of Love is close. It lacks the deep creaminess in the dry down and is brighter on the neroli in the opening. But if you aren't comparing them side by side, they are very close and in the absence of Neroli, CoL is a wonderful dupe.

Anna Maria de La Trémoill, the 17th century Italian princess of Nerola, introduced the essence of bitter orange flowers as her signature perfume to scent her bathwater and fine leather gloves. From then on the orange blossom became the emblem of the Nerola clan. This perfume captivates the senses by releasing the euphoric and seductive note of Neroli essential oil.

Powdery, sweet, herbal, bitter, unctuous! This is just SO GOOD! I got a 1.7 oz bottle with about 5 ml left for $.99 at a thrift store. I see a full bottle goes for about $300 on ebay and I can understand why. I've never smelled anything like this--it's sensual and aromatic at the same time. Unisex to the standards of 2022. If you're lucky enough to find this somewhere and feel you can afford it, I'd highly reccomend it to any lover of neroli scents.

L'Occitane Neroli is by far the most sublime scent I have ever worn. If it was still available it would definitely be my signature. Creamy full bodied warm yummy neroli loveliness. I only have under half a bottle left so I save it for very special occasions. Luckily all I need is one or two sprays to be transported to perfume heaven!!!Whenever I wear this I feel great and I get a lot of positive comments.

I bought a bottle of this in France 4 years ago. I wore this perfume all over France so it reminds me of early spring in Northern France. It is a lovely warm scent that can be sorta strong to start with but mellows out over time. This scent will last you all day. It takes a powerful woman to wear this. This scent will make you stand out among the Estee Lauder, Prada, Brittney Spears wearing bunch.

Why, why, why was this discontinued??? It is by far and away L'Occitane's best perfume - dark, heady full-throttle neroli. Most nerolis are a bit insipid or are colognes, but this is like nothing else. Plus, the bottle and packaging are lovely. I have half a bottle left, and hardly ever use it, it's just too gorgeous. Hopefully they will see sense and reissue it one day!

I was able to get the travel size "old" Neroli in a close-out sale from L'Occitane online. It's a fabulous fragrance and after reading the comments on the new version, I am definitely rationing what I have left. The original Neroli is a sensual scent that lasts all day and night.

I have been packing up my mothers belongings after she recently passed away and came across a brand new 50ml bottle of loccitane Neroli eau de parfum. It was her favourite. I am willing to sell it if anyone is interested. [email protected] .

I can't find this in stores. They discontinued it together with old Rose 4 Reines EdP and Eau de 7 Fleurs. Why??? The new Notre Flore Neroli is very nice too, but the vintage was like old world perfume and neroli bomb!

Absolutely sublime fragrance, rich and dark. I was so upset to find that this had been discontinued. I have a tiny bit left and will be very sad when it runs out.

Mmmm I got lucky and scored a half filled bottle of this amber coloured potion. Like previous reviewers have mentioned, it is quite the intoxicating blend! L'Occitane Neroli isn't a soliflore, though. It opens up with a really lovely neroli; fresh, not overly floral and it has this certain 'oily' quality about it, like it is blooming. The opening is simply glorious and I'm kind of sad this fades quite quickly. Next up in the middle stage are woody notes - smooth and a little bit sharp, like pencil shavings, but enveloped by the neroli. The combination is great, but the drydown is the most exciting part. The neroli dials down in intensity and the woody notes (I guess cedar) are joined by, according to what I smell, a very smooth and dark blend of tonkabean, sandalwood and a pinch of leather. Maybe also some dark, deep vanilla extract, nowhere the sugary kind. From the drydown on, it reminded me a lot of the original Addict (2002) in terms of its dark and sensual drydown. Addict is however a lot more on the vanilla/tonkabean/sandalwood, whereas LN revolves around a subtle low humming of Neroli, supported by a cast of dry woods/tonkabean/leather. Sillage is heavy and projection is monstrous the first hour; however, it doesn't go 'in your face'; it envelops you in a cloud of beautiful Neroli. Can't really comment on the longevity: though I applied it before bed, and when I woke up I could smell small traces of it. L'Occitane is a really beautiful fragrance, but I'm not sure whether I would spend 100+ dollar on this perfume; I'm sure there are other (niche) neroli fragrances that are similar to this discontinued one.

a bit strong when first sprayed, but about after 20-30 minutes, especially on a warm day, this smells like glorious, hot neroli with some woodiness in the background. it's got a warmth to it, which i really enjoy. so gorgeous, i kind of wish i still had this.

Vanillin and coumarin are missing from the base notes. The dry down is straight powdery vanillin, coumarin, and the synthetic orchid note commonly used in "orchid" and gardenia perfumes. The heart notes are neroli and orchid - a special extraction made only for this perfume line for L'Occitane. This was a holy grail perfume for me, but the presence of the synthetics L'Occitane now uses constantly gave me such a headache that I couldn't continue to wear it. I'm guessing it was the synthetic orchid because the actual extraction faded noticeably and very quickly - as in gone in under 30 second. Personally, I can see why so many of their perfumes have been discontinued. They are becoming more and more migraine-inducing each year. And they used to be so amazing! It's such a shame this company is just another slave of Givaudin and Firmenich. They also used to have such a wonderful variety. Something for everyone. Now the selection is very limited. Still love the packaging though. And I'm a total sucker for good packaging.

This is ghastly :|. Seriously, it is so potent and medicinal I nearly got sick the last time this was sprayed near me. If you're a neroli fanatic, I would suggest buying a neroli candle or a jar of essential oil and enjoying it in the privacy of your own home. Don't wear this on a date...or to work....or in any public situation, for the sake of other people...please.

I'm lucky enough to have owned a 7.5 mL travel spray of Neroli by L'Occitane, gifted by a lovely Fragrantica some years previously. In comes in a unique case that has a compass engraved on the front. From the name, I didn't expect to be wearing this in winter, but when I saw that many people had voted for this fragrance to be worn in the cold, I decided to pull it out this season. Neroli is a warm, rich, bitter orange blossom perfume. It's hard to describe what I smell as there are no notes listed other than neroli. So, definitely, I smell neroli. Let me try to capture its essence for you. It is sometimes candy sweet, like artificial grape flavoring. But there is definitely a bitter facet there. It's a clash between the bitter and the sweet, such as is found in Poeme by Lancome, but softer, more subtle. This bittersweet dance is also rich and warming, like nectar, like the color of the liquid. The fruity candy aspect remains far into the drydown - sometimes it is reminiscent of orange soda. I don't think you need to go crazy trying to find this perfume. Similar perfumes do exist, such as Neroli blanc Intense Eau de Parfum Au Pays de la Fleur d’Oranger (I know, the name is too much.) I also find something vintage in Neroli, that I find in other perfumes, even ones that do not smell exactly like this, but have this essence inside their whole, if that makes sense. For instance, 24 Faubourg by Hermes does not smell like Neroli, but it is also a warm, bitter, orange blossom perfume, perhaps with this neroli oil, that may satisfy your craving for this discontinued fragrance. I do wish L'Occitane would bring this back, though. Nothing in their current lineup, even their Terre de Lumiere Intense, has as much presence as this "simple", one-note neroli perfume does.

The true fragrance lover will seek out the older version of this fragrance. The new version has been hyped up with a floral-fruity nature that smells ghastly. The old version, however, is bold, sweet, woody and ambery. A lot of neroli is used, with a strong vein of rose, and a finish of amber, sandalwood, and a vanilla that just won't quit! A dizzyingly good potion. If the original formulation forever disappears, there is always Dior Addict. Not as interesting or as spicy, but it has its own seductive quality, or Ange ou Demon if you don't mind an exotic kind of seduction.

The first time I smelt the old Neroli I was almost paralysed. Heaven, just pure heaven. No other perfume has ever had this impact on me and on my skin it was perfect alchemy, nothing has ever come close to this one. Such a shame that most perfumes a go for fresh cologne approach with neroli. l occitane went for deep, rich, intoxicating.....and then they reformulated......and then they stopped. I have not bought anything from then again.....how sad

Yep, I saw a half bottle of the 'Old' Neroli for half price in a half price sale. I had 2 paper strips sprayed wiht both the 'old' and the 'new' versions. There was no comparision. I have written to the head office in Dublin which will be forwarded to France to complain about how disappointing the new one is.

to me is similar with jean paul gaultier classique very stron i have smelled this 2 years ago and that was the impresion, anyway is a good fragrance but here is quite expensive

I have L'Occitane Neroli "the older one" and it is my favorite perfume. I will buy the newer one when mine runs out. I just love the deep orange fragrance that L'Occitane has.

This is a great scent for neroli lovers. I personally prefer neroli as part of a whole, rather than the feature, but this is a very good fragrance nontheless.

This is considered my life long signature scent. I'm so frustated that I can no longer buy it, i've sent emails to l'occitane and will start a petition!

The original Neroli was one of the most incredible fragrances I've EVER smelled...rich, intoxicating, and lasted forever! I wish they'd bring it back.

I managed to get 3 of the last old bottles in Dublin. If you buy the new one you will be bitterly disappointed halo.
