The Bergamote - Bergamot Tea

My father grew up in London, where tea is taken much more seriously than in the US, and that was his drink of choice in our home, so I can appreciate a good, flavorful tea. Having travelled around the world, I prefer cardamom chai, lemongrass, Moroccan rose & mint and Earl gray over the iced tea/sweet tea/green tea that most Americans prefer. I was looking for those same notes in my first tea-scented fragrance purchase. I held out on purchasing any other tea scents until I got my hands on this one first. I wanted this to be the "prototype" on which I base all of my opinions of other tea scents. This one is AMAZING! Initially, it has all the depth and rich aromas of a strong cup of sweetened traditional Earl Gray. Unfortunately, the scent is literally gone within an hour, but what an amazing hour!! Too bad this one is discontinued. I could picture L'Occitane creating variations such as Lady Gray (plus lavender), French Earl Gray and Russian Gray. I think my ideal tea scent would infuse tea into a cake scent like they do in England tea cakes. Overall, I am so pleased that my journey began with this beautiful fragrance. I look forward to experiencing other tea scents with as much pizazz.

This was my first L’OCCITANE purchase. I absolutely loved it. Funny, but the silage and longevity was really great on my skin, the exception to most of L’OCCITANE fragrances. I used to spray some on my pillows at night. Had I known how quickly L’OCCITANE discontinues their EDT scents I would not have done that. I’m searching for a new signature scent now the The Bergamot and Antonia’s Flowers have both been discontinued. I have a few scents from L’OCCITANE but have to buy the lotion to help with the short longevity factor of L’O. They are OK but I haven’t found anything to compare with them. Too bad!

Absolutely divine. Beautiful tea note that doesn't lean metallic, acrid, or burnt. It smells pretty realistic, but without the strong grassy tones that fresh green tea can have. It's a perfect blend of green and black tea; everything you want in that note. The blend is cheerful and refreshing, excellent to reapply on a hot summer day. It's my favorite of all the L'Occitane creations and still am looking for either a good dupe or an affordable bottle floating around somewhere.

Bright citrus on spray, combining with uplifting Earl Grey (bergamot) with the smooth black tea note being rather subtle but full and present with a hint of natural sweetness. Cardamom gives Thé Bergamote a warm, refined anchor that makes this seemingly hug the skin rather than evaporate too quickly. Refreshingly appeasing to the senses. A great one for the coming warmer months.

This is delicious. It is the PERFECT match for my skin. The Bergamot, oh, the grapefruit! Spicy Cardamom and delicious mandarins. All being loving embraced by those heady black tea leaves. The only reason it isn't my "signature" scent is because I want to preserve the bottle I have as long as it takes me to find something I love just as much.

I miss this fragrance so much. I hope L'Occitane will return it back as they did already with some of their perfumes. Great for aromatherapy: uplifting, optimistic, crispy yet cozy as a cup of tea:) It was perfectly balanced.

I'm a big fan of this sooo uplifting scent, no matter how fast it fades on my skin. Anyway, I've found that by layering a bit of Terre d'Hermes on it, the scent lasts much longer and they blend nicely.

If this was just a little bit stronger, would be a perfect scent for summer, but beautiful top notes disappear within a few minutes. Fresh, distant, and yet well known smell from my childhood ... probably should have all products from the Bergamot Tea line for full olfactive experience. Strange, in solid form feels more. It's a wonderful fresh aroma.

Simply gorgeous, but sadly with one of the worst lasting powers I've ever seen. It smells like freshly brewed Earl Grey tea, cooled down and icy, sweetened just a little. Wonderful for summer. Very similar to Bergamote from The Different Company, only lighter. It's very natural smelling, uplifting and surely unisex. A keeper for me, as I always loved this note. And yes, this is almost a single note cologne. Too bad it doesn't come in edp... But I've been after a bergamote scent for a long long time now, and now I finally found it, I must say that if you like the scent of tea, this one is 100% sure to please. Wonderful!

The Bergamote opens with bright citruses in the top notes, lime being dominant on my skin. They evaporate quickly and it dries down to a powdery black tea scent. Although not listed, I get a eucalyptus vibe from the tea, smelling similar to walking into a Pier One. It's very renewing and one of the best tea scents I've tried. This is a light perfume so sillage is moderate, and lasts about 3 hours on my skin. I agree with it being a wonderful warm weather fragrance - like visiting a spa to relax!

If it weren't for the cardamom, this would be just a nice clean and fresh perfume. The cardamom however, is a real "take off" for it. Besides, it is very soft, so I view it as a feminine perfume, even though I could change my mind, if I experienced it on a man. A very good Summer choice.. and one more great perfume that is discontinued.

the scent is fine inteally but fade out by the time i leave the house>> longvity 5/10 scent 8/10

This is a stronger,spicy version of Elizabeth Arden's gree tea. Find this cool and sexy!

It contains all of my favorite notes. Why is it discontinued?! Whyy?!!!!

Great unisex scent. Light, refreshing. Perfect for hot summer days.
