Verveine Agrumes 2020

As the last few days of the usual revival of warm to hot daytime temperatures winds to a close here on the shores of Lake Michigan, I was unearthing some more fall appropriate fragrances from their back of the shelf spots and pushing the warm weather scents to the back in their places. Upon picking up my bottle of Verveine Agrumes, bought in early spring of 2021 when L'Occitane was having a big sale, I was surprised to see how much of this relatively light, fresh vaguely sweet citrus blend I had used this summer. If I used this fragrance as often as the bottle depletion suggests, I must like it, right? So, a review seems in order. Verveine Agrumes is a pleasant, natural-smelling, lemon forward scent with a bit of orange rind sweetness and a very natural grapefruit rounding things out. Longevity is enhanced to a moderate level, which is pretty impressive for a light, fresh smelling hesperdic citrus scent, by the inclusion of green, lemony verbena in the heart. At the end of the drydown, there is a vaguely woody note. The pyramid says it's "cedar;" sure, why not? Unisex, safe as can be for work because it is not a big projector and utterly inoffensive. This stuff is very nice indeed; presenting citrus notes while avoiding the dreaded bathroom cleaner note. Presentation is nice, with an attractive, narrow glass bottle featuring a metal cap, decent atomizer and a raised leaf pattern on the sides. I like this product, particularly when it is available at a discount, and recommend looking for the chance to try it if you are seeking a bright lemon scent for summer daytime use.
