Paula's Ibiza Cosmic

So I’m on this mango bender. Not a “cleanse,” not some Gwyneth Paltrow stunt. Just me chain-chewing them like a fruit bat out of hell. Fresh mango, mango yogurt, mango sorbet, mango beer. If someone sold mango cigarettes, I’d be sparking ’em off with a gas station blowtorch. Obsessed. 🥭🔥 You know that point where compulsion totally goes off the rails? When you eat yourself stupid until you hurl or catch some weird-ass allergy and swear it off for the next decade? Yeah. I’m one mango away from that. But until then, I damn well want to smell like one too. Problem is, most mango notes in perfume smell like gummy worms cooked in a meth lab. Or worse, that dumpster-juice stench of an overripe mango at the bottom of the fruit bowl. Either it’s chemical sugar slop or rotten-fruit funk. 🤢 Magic Mango by Fugazzi and Black Mango by BTSO are still on my radar, but everything else I’ve tried so far? Blegh. Total trash fire. Enter Paula’s Ibiza Cosmic. I spray it and oh. Oh. This is it. Juicy ripe mango, creamy coconut, sweet-sour pear, soft woods, hot resin dripping like sweat. Underneath, something ambery, honeyed, almost leathery. Starts purring, then growls. Tropical, chewy, but in that addictive, can’t-stop-smelling-yourself way. 🥴🫠 And yeah, fruity woody is a thing. Fight me. Not all men should smell like your dickhead boss in oakmoss, or some 90s everyman dripping Cool Water and loserdom. Just as not all women need to be drowned in bubblegum fruit or mothball florals past their prime. Enough. 2025 deserves better mashups. Like this. The vibe? Guys in their 20s or 30s, ripped shorts sticky from last night’s beer, mellowed out with blunts and King Gizzard with Tropical Fuck Storm on loop. Girls in crop tops, belly rings flashing, burnt-pink shoulders, piercings, tattoos, purple hair. Basically, people who’d sell you bad mushrooms at a psych-rock festival and call you “man” even if you’re a chick. Never been that type, not my scene tbh, but sometimes I crash into those moods. Which is why this was an instant impulse buy. Normally I stick to knives-out citruses and aromatics in summer, but this one seduced me differently. I caved. Hard. The only downside: on me it lasts maybe three hours, with only moderate sillage. And that opening, the juicy mango hit I adore, vanishes faster than your dealer when cops roll in. I’d pawn my worst best friend’s soul to keep it blasting longer. Others swear they get more, so maybe it’s just my skin clowning me. Or maybe that’s the point. Good things die young. Bottle’s a win though. Round, sunset-orange, trippy as a lava lamp. Finally Loewe did something different instead of clinging to their boring rectangle IKEA-shelf aesthetic. The biggest mystery is why this isn’t hyped. Where’s my chaos, my cult, my TikTok teen crying in Ibiza saying this perfume “changed her life”? 🤨 Other niche brands peddle literal floor cleaner and call it “edgy,” while this gem sits ignored. Loewe drop one banger for every five duds and can’t even push it right. Their marketing team must be in a coma. Or dead already. Wake the hell up, Loewe. Anywho, this def felt like a damn lucky find. Like pulling a crumpled $10 bill from a thrift jacket pocket. Or finding an unsmoked blunt under the couch cushion. Score. 🔥 And for once, I didn’t even recognize myself: a sweet mango-coconut fragrance by Loewe? Guess I really pushed it with the mangoes. Still, stepping out of character now and then is good. Keeps you from spinning the same old wheels. 🌌✨🥭 4.5/5. Just get it while you can. Loewe’s track record says they’ll probably kill it off like they always do. This is that unshakable mango high you’ll be jonesing for every summer to come.

Got a generous decant of this scent thanks to a work friend who just returned from a holiday in Spain. My initial impression is that Paula’s Ibiza Cosmic it’s a woodier version of Xerjoff’s Erba Gold. And a more unisex fragrance, without being a masculine scent. I see major similarities between these two beautiful fruity fragrances. Loewe’s scent is more summer/fall scent for me while Xerjoff is more of a spring/summer scent. I’ d say Paula’s Ibiza Cosmic is slightly less sweet and more amber heavy while Erba Gold has that amped up sweetness that I personally love in perfumes, a brighter, citrusy opening and a heavy dose of vanilla in the dry down. Even though the fruity notes are different, they end up smelling similar somehow. Price wise, Loewe’s the obvious winner without any doubts at about a third of price I paid for my bottle of Erba Gold! From what I can see it advertised online, it’s way more cheaper than Xerjoff. But since I already have a big bottle of Erba Gold I don’t think I need Paula’s Ibiza Cosmic unless I would buy it as a replacement for Erba Gold, when I finish my EG bottle! Comparing the performance, Erba Gold is stronger on me than Ibiza Cosmic. So there’s pros and cons for both of these perfumes, depending upon what’s important to each person. To summarise, I love Paula’s Ibiza Cosmic. I want a 50 ml bottle but not immediately since it’s still summer and I have something similar in my collection already. I will have to give it credit, Loewe’s creation is beautiful nonetheless but not entirely unique as scent. And very decently priced if we compare it to the latest releases from YSL, Burberry, Paco Rabanne, Prada, JPG, Lancome and other similar European designer houses!

Oof! First review is a little bit intimidating but I will do my best. First, I have all three of the “Paula’s Ibiza” frags and each of them are unique in their own ways: the original for its bitter green galbanum note, “Eclectic” for the feminine and creamy ylang and incense take on a beachy fragrance, and “Cosmic” with its very unisex woody mango fragrance. Each of them are tied together by a sunscreen like coconut note that immediately transports the nose to memories of applying sunscreen at the beach. Of the three fragrances, I personally find Cosmic to be the most approachable and universally appealing. The Mango sits on your skin with beautiful blended sandalwood and coconut creaminess. There’s a bit of amber sitting in the base but not enough to turn the scent too resinous. Pear also shows up giving the fragrance a sort of cooling fruitiness. And of course it wouldn’t be a “Paula’s Ibiza” fragrance without a lotion like coconut accord in the middle... It’s a fairly linear, simple, and easygoing fragrance. For me it’s a perfect match for wearing with some of my more tropical resort wear outfits. There is something about it that reminds me of a tiki bar - tropical drinks in a bamboo hut... it’s an effortless vibe for sure, but it definitely doesn’t stand out in the way that the original does. It’s my second favorite of the line with the original still at the top and “Eclectic” underneath. If you like smelling like mangoes, I say give this fragrance a try. It has a moderate projection and 6 hours of longevity on me. Also I enjoy layering this with “Sunny Side Up” from JHAG just to give it slightly more creamy depth.

This is for me a tropical take on the original Paula's Ibiza, coconut and fruity notes with a "sunscreen" feel is what i recognise by smelling this, from the opening to the drydown pretty linear in scent profile. I've just had this on me 3-4 times and have already received a lot of compliments, funnily enough one by a waitress in a cocktail bar saying it smells like a "very sexy pina colada". As a man myself I think this is the most masculine leaning out of the 3 even though it is completely unisex. I would save this up to wear in the late spring & summertime. Longevity on me is like 5-7 hours with a moderate projection, that being said, it is worth a purchase imo, but maybe it would be worth it to wait for it to reach retailers, even though Loewe is typically not so easy to find outside of europe. Final score for me is a 8/10, i like it a lot but it is not something completely new in the dna and longevity could be better for this price range.

... this is an amazingly fruity / floral that dries into a wonderful vanilla / still fruity & floral - but much more toned down... ... and this lasts FOREVER.. it's really strong on application and you can smell this for hours afterwards - on clothes, forget about it - they'll smell like a tropical island forever! ... this does have whiff of Mancera's Sicily, but I would say not as floral (which I love, don't get me wrong) it's a great daytime smell, I wouldn't go on a night out with it, but it's a great all-year smell (no problem with it cutting through the cold weather) if you want those tropical / summer vibes... ... great to layer with other fragrances (vanilla / sweet ones) - a really great buy - 8/10 fragrance!
