Paula's Ibiza Eclectic

Decided to try these two Ibiza inspired scents from Loewe last summer, Paula’s Ibiza and the more exotic version, the Eclectic, after hearing Sebastian on YT raving about the original Paula’s Ibiza. Unlike Sebastian, I happen to like better Paula’s Ibiza Eclectic. Anyways, this is another stunning creation from Loewe, this version perfectly captures the essence of summertime season. They are inspired by the famous Spanish island,Ibiza, famous for the epic parties. I have a personal weakness when it comes to tropical, yellow flowers, coconut, sweet vanilla and incense fragrances. Paula’s Ibiza Eclectic has all these notes plus some: sweet mandarin, orange blossom, jasmine, pepper, olibanum and sandalwood! A symphony of different notes from different families of perfumes, all blended smoothly together to create a scent that transports me to a tropical paradise. Performance on me is great if I overspray. I got countless compliments from my colleagues at work saying that it smells like holiday around me! Packaging is very fun, colourful, fresh and creative. Unlike other tropical/summery scents packaging (I am looking specifically at you, Akro), you can figure it out how the scent smells just throwing a quick glance at that beautiful box and bottle! It’s telling you instantly all that’s needed to know about the content. Spot on! Similar indeed to Beach Walk and Soleil Blanc. Way more affordable than both. Very underrated!

Paula's Ibiza Eclectic has been a great surprise for me, love at first sniff, so to say. It blends white florals, gourmand sweetness, subtle resinous spices, and creamy woods, what's not to like? Strong sillage for the first 2 h, then moderate, and lasts on my skin about 6-7 h (more on my shirt). It definitely has a unique "tropical"/floral accord, and thought there are many notes listed, they all come together in a big unanimous, hard to define, floral accord, with a note of incense(?) in the background that gives it an "airy" feeling. However, the one note that dominates is Ylang Ylang, and it can be overpowering at the beginning (so, beware if you don't like this note). This is perfectly unisex, but very floral; it goes well with my skin chemistry. I first purchased a 15 ml travel size, but since then, I've got a full bottle. Big love from me. 👍👍👍👍

Very nice white floral creamy / woody fragrance sprinkled with citrus - currently transcending to a tropical location during work hours while wearing. I do not get the Crystal Noir or Coco Vanille comparison - yes there is coconut - but Crystal Noir and Coco Vanille don't even smell alike to me. This fragrance is airy and creamy at the same time. Sandalwood is definitely smooth. At first I thought the Jasmine was a little animalic upon first spray but I believe that actually may be the Ylang twang. Must like white florals - I do believe this is unisex - or at least some son of a beach~ cheeeeeeese! EDIT: The more I wear the more I love! This is summer in a bottle~ splash~~a feel good fragrance.

It’s definitely juicy. He hint of the orange, orange blossom, and jasmine sambac are definitely present from the beginning to the dry down. For me, it’s definitely sweeter than the original Paula’s Ibiza and less green. Also the hint of coconut is there but it’s very subtle. I layered this under Neroli Portofino and it was a rather great combination. Some people might not like this and you might get comments that circumvent a left alone fruit basket but I personally adore this fragrance. I think you’ll stand out and people will definitely want to know the secret.

This is lovely! It's got something in common with the sun screen genre of perfumes, but it's not too much part of that category. I think it's suitable for spring and early autumn, it doesn't scream tropical vacation. That said, I think I would enjoy smelling like this all summer. It smells kind of like hanging out at a semi-outdoor beach bar with people who dress like hippies but are low key rich, which I guess fits with the intention.

Such a great Summer fragrance for those of us that don't love freshies or super sweet fragrances. Ylang-ylang, jasmine and orange blossom stay in the forefront, but the olibanum and vanilla help ground it. Incense note is slight but enough to balance the scent. I don't get as much sandalwood & coconut as others seem to pick up. Musk definitely comes through in the later dry down.

Every Ibiza flanker is terrific!~ and yet totally different from one another but each one promotes summer & happiness - fun in the sun. What I picture when I smell them: Original = synthesizers and pool parties, Eclectic = beach breeze, volleyball and drinks, Cosmic = hanging w friends, mellow, and lots of laughs. I love them all.

Very oud-y, but nice. It's definitely very unique, as an avid coconut enjoyer who only wears coconut fragrances, it's definitely one that'll stay in my collection. It reminds me of going to a store where they sell incense and essential oils during a heatwave.. a very specific holiday. Eclectic, that's for sure. 10/10.

Beautiful fragance for summer. I know fig isn’t listed, but there is something that reminds me of it, specially during the first hours. I really enjoy it though. I suppose that it’s because I don’t have anything like it, which makes me very happy adding it to my collection.

An addition to my review: wore this for Memorial Day weekend party~ this is a compliment magnet from men and women. And the compliments were like... OMG! U smell so good. OR who the hello smells so dam good?!!

I wanted to love it but it smells like (badly) burnt caramel on me. What a shame, it was so promising on paper!

Be aware: this perfume has the dank jasmine rather than the soapy jasmine. I love it because it’s just on the edge of being too much for me. It really gives me a feeling of pushing the envelope and bending the rules. Being free and creative...perhaps a bit slutty. You know, like what Paula’s Ibiza stands for. It’s only 25 degrees Celsius today and I can’t wait to wear it on a humid night in July when it’s almost too hot to move but there’s something electric in the air (probably an approaching thunderstorm). I bought mine resale so I can’t really comment on the value but this is a unique addition to my collection. I’m happy with it. I do not get any coconut and only a very little bit of incense. I do get orange, loads of jasmine, soft ylang ylang, and creamy sandalwood.

Of all the summer fragrance recommends, this is one of my favorites so far. More feminine than TF Soleil Blanc or Beach Walk, not pure coppertone like Bobbi Brown Beach. The pepper really took over for the first few hours for me, making this very spicy and I wasn’t sure if I liked it. Over time I caught coconut and incense. It’s really unexpected to get these notes on such a sweet and floral perfume. 10 hours later and I still smell this on me, almost as strong as when I first sprayed it. I can’t believe it!

On my sample card it states only incense, ylang ylang and sandalwood. It has a winning start that is totally unique, a new quality out of the ingredients. It feels floral, watery and sweet. Light like a breeze. Totally perfect for summer. Loewe does summery scents exceptionally well. But it feels a bit too light from my sample. From the bottle it should be different and fit for overspraying. Unfortunately, I feel it on myself only for an hour.

Reminds me of Carthusia A'mmare, but more wearable. A'mmare captures what feels like midday seaside: raw, green, watery, sandy, sweaty suntan lotion essence with something that doesn't hit me right after a while. Almost like a light licorice note. Eclectic tamps that out a bit and brightens the whole thing up. I'd rate A'mmare a 3 (Ok), mostly for technique and execution, while Eclectic is a 4 (Like).

a more peppery soleil blanc. really comforting and nice scent for those summer evenings and days. i’m normally not a big fan of incense but it really works in this fragrance with the coconut and citruses. also definitely unisex, guys can perfectly pull this off.

A summery, airy fragrance with a discernible touch of ylang-ylang, rendered in a luminous and gentle form. The incense remains equally subtle, resulting in an ethereal skin scent.

Very citrusy but I didn’t really get the coconut. Smells like every other fruity floral on the market but slightly more orangey

I like it. Unisex. Fresh and floral. Uplifting. Maybe slightly feminine because of the florals. Great for summer.

It's weird and pale. First I get a nice warm citrusy waft but after 5 minutes it's almost completely gone. I can't detect any from the middle and the base notes. On my skin it's almost nothing, no coconut, no ylang, no....anything :-( Like a poor body mist. That 5 mins are really pleasant but I wouldn't waste my money on this.

It starts lemony, but it’s a soft orange/lemo, not too strong. After that, you can detect ylang-ylang, and I would say it’s sweet to me. The sillage is moderate to strong.

Starts off very peppery with a slight synthetic woodiness to my nose, but ends up as a white floral bomb. Looking forward to wearing this in the summer heat.

A pleasant, green mango, but quite musky. It smells almost dusty. It’s very tropical, but like it has been sitting on the shelf a tad too long. Meh.

If the musk was less screechy and toned down, this might be nice. It's almost there and the rest of the notes are pleasant.

There is something very vintage smelling in this perfume.I expected more coconut and creamy white flowers ,but all i get is retro ylang ylang and lemmon grass kinda my auntie during 70's.I dont like it at all.Good thing i just oredered a small decant. P.S I love lots of vintages but not this type of smell.

After reading wonderful reviews I went and I tried it, it’s so bad on my skin! Most of my fragrances are white florals and creamy coconut, but this one just smells like pepper and incense on me, with maybe a hint of citrus. So sad!

Friendly, warm, relaxed - yes, a rather clever as well as welcoming treatment of the theme of a beach-summer fragrance mostly dodging between the usual cliches. Waves of nice creamy non-cloying non-fakey coconut and mellow golden amber-ish-ness eddying underneath. Pleasant without being remarkable; without seeming cheap or nasty, it really doesn't immediately smell 'upscale' or 'luxury' either - it's a little downbeat and dressed-down. By no means a failure - the musk, in particular, doesn't tip into the usual metallic-budget backdrop which makes many so-called 'summer', 'sunscreen' or 'coconut' scents as unbearably scratchy to me (scratchy as a beach towel saturated in saltwater and dried stiff as a board in the sunlight, all too often.) Here all is calm, drifting, mellow - really not much freshness to it at all, but you don't feel that as a drawback. The one drawback there IS - on me at least: the jasmine sambac, as billed, seems to morph into something dangerously close to tuberose on my skin - and that turns this from a tempting 'yes please' to a hard NO THANK YOU. So don't blind buy (I oh-so-nearly did - phew!) but it is very much worth testing. If you're like 98% of the population and don't hate tuberose as much as I do, then this will be an absolutely great thing to splash about and while away the summer hours with. (It might even work to summon the memory of summer days to you during the winter months even if you live somewhere chilly and overcast.) Projection a confident 6ft for a few hours, pleasant lingering undertow will hang about on the skin for up to 7-8h. Definitely worth throwing into your beach bag / wicker basket for hot sunny days if you want to take an informal, friendly, no-drama stroll along the waterfront with it. Somehow it really does conjure happy, laid-back times of loafing around in espadrilles, flip-flops and sandals, linen sundresses, bright parasols and blue-and-white striped bretonniere tops. Not bad going at all!

I love the original Paula’s Ibiza so much that I felt that I also needed to get my nose on both “Eclectic” and the newest flanker “Cosmic” (which I will also review once it is live on here). All three fragrances capture different essences of beachy and tropical vibes with a lotion like coconut note that threads the connection between them. Personally, “Eclectic” is my least favorite of the three, but it is still a beautiful fragrance none the less. Of the Paula’s line, this fragrance is the most feminine and the most floral with creamy Ylang-Ylang, Jasmin, and Neroli being the stars of the show. Citrus lingers in the top but just barely. A spicy pepper note tickles the nose and blends into the overall creamy nature of the scent. There is certainly coconut in the fragrance that is reminiscent of soliel blanc. Long into the drydown, the more amber and vanilic qualities sit on the skin. A creamy sandalwood note ties all the lotion like qualities of the fragrance together. I haven’t worn this with sunscreen yet but I imagine that they will make a great pair. Overall this fragrance is fine, it’s just missing the intrigue that the original fragrance has with the very unique take of a galbanum (green) beachy aroma. I would recommend getting the travel spray over a full bottle personally and may gift my full bottle to a female friend who loves the beach as I don’t really see myself reaching to wear this often. Note: I have seen some of y’all listing oud as a note in the reviews here... you either got the wrong fragrance or don’t know what Oud smells like because there is absolutely none of it to be found in this fragrance.

One for the ylang-ylang gang. A full-bodied tropical floral, where a single spritz goes a very, very long way. Creamy, dreamy, and – as the name suggests – a little quirky. Think Tanya from the White Lotus, if she made it to Thailand. One minute it’s beachy breeze, the next it’s hot stanky jasmine. Interestingly, not a hint of sunscreen about her. If you can brave the bold introduction, the drydown is divine. Around the twelve-hour mark on skin (yes, I’m getting 12+h on skin!) she simmers into a sultry, coconut-buttered vanilla. On fabric, lush white blossoms linger for over a week. One of my coworkers surprised me with a 100cc bottle and I feel like this will last me until the earth falls into the sun. If you seek an all caps BEACH RESORT YLANG YLANG, this is your gal. Mental Snapshot: You meet her on vacation. Everyone meets her on vacation. The dayclub diva, the cabana queen. Her tab is never closed, her suite is always upgraded, and no soul ever stays a stranger. Even when she’s not on holiday – albeit rarely – her bathtub is filled with bubbles and flower petals. tl;dr: MORE YLANG YLANG, ON THE HOUSE 🏖️👠

This was a letdown for me unfortunately, it’s not bad but certainly not what I was expecting. Especially with others describing it as a fruit cocktail. Where?? Lol I’m jealous of those who got that from this because I got nothing even close to that. Perhaps it’s just my body chemistry but I picked up way too much pepper and incense from this that drowned out all other notes. I did get some citrus and floral aspects in the background but faintly. Overall I found this perfume to be sort of... odd? I kinda liked it for a moment then the next it made me feel like I was wearing something stale for a lack of a better word & I just wanted to scrub it off. It smelled better on paper to me. It has good performance though.

I have this one and the Paula’s Ibiza cosmic but this is by far my favorite, I understand why is not everyone cup’s of tea, but I love it. At first is a bit peppery and a floral but on the dry down you start to get the notes of incense and musk and it becomes more mature and sexy, i also get a vintage powdery makeup smell, to me it smells like a rich lady on a Beach resort with her big summer hat, sunglasses, red nails and a stack of jewerly that makes a lot of noise. Also this is my most complimented parfume ever !

A delicious take on jasmine. Sweet, happy, effortless jasmine - softened by ylang, coconut and vanilla. Incense gives it a bit of character. I think this scent really represents Ibiza well - the hippie market / yoga retreat part more than the EDM scene though. It smells really close to Murmure des Dieux by Une Nuit Nomade, especially in the heart/base.

Fragancia ideal para el verano. Tiene una salida cítrica que te recuerda a la mandarina, es fresca pero después se torna dulce y especiada. El incienso le da un toque de elegancia, no es el típico perfume fresquito de verano, es mucho más...Tiene gran proyección y durabilidad. Uno de mis imprescindibles de verano que vuelvo a adquirir año tras año.

I really enjoy Paula's Ibiza Eclectic. From the cute bottle to the delicious mandarin to the creamy ylang to the super clean frankincense! It is an uncomplicated fragrance but it's not boring. It's full, summery and happy. Leans a tad more feminine but, hey, wear what ya like! Nice surprise find at a great price. ✨

As a man I couldn't get used to this on me .. but after a few days I tried again and I love it .. I think the incense really lifts this . My wife loves this too . When you buy this let it settle for a few hours then spray. Take a walk in the sun and let the breeze waft the smell around ...

Lots of incense on me - bordering on an Oud, even in the dry down. This is a weird one... can't decide whether I love it or hate it, mainly because I hate Oud. But, I keep coming back to it.

It is nice. I get a creamy yellow floral with a bit of smoke. It is sweet but not sickening. It is ok, but nothing to write home about.

Just absolute summer perfection ❤️ Smells like a gorgeous sunset at the beach with a mega pint of any tropical cocktail!
